A Study for brake distance according to a car and rail conditions (차량과 레일 조건에 따른 제동거리에 관한 고찰)

  • Rail vehicle brakes partly or completely transform the kinetic energy of moving vehicles into other forms of energy, in order to reduce the speed, and if necessary to bring them to a halt. To fulfil these requirements, the effect of a certain brake force is necessary and especially it is considered that the brake force is a important device to rail vehicles as a mass transit. The brake distance is a criterion for measuring brake force. The brake force is measured via dozens of brake distance test before its service operation. The brake distance is influenced by cars and rail conditions; weight of cars, speed on the verge of braking, temperature of brake disk and condition of the upper side of rail, etc. Therefore we will study how the these factors impact with the brake distance via a real test results.

The Study on the Situations and Analysis of Rail Freight in Japan and Policy Implication (일본철도화물수송의 현황분석 및 정책적 시사점)

  • 최근의 화물자동차파업사태 등으로 우리나라 물류체계의 경쟁력제고를 위한 여러 가지 논의가 진행되고 있다. 그 중에서도 환경친화적이며, 사회적 비용이 저렴한 철도화물의 수송분담율을 높여야 한다는 의견이 많이 나오고 있다. 우리나라 물류체계의 근본적인 문제점은 도로운송량의 증가보다 트럭의 공급과잉으로 트럭운송사업자의 수익은 매우 낮고, 철도, 해운 등 대량운송수단의 분담율이 낮아 전체적인 수송효율성이 낮은 것을 들 수 있다. 이러한 문제점의 해결은 트럭의 과잉공급을 억제하고, 제조업 물류비 중 46.5%를 점하고 있는 운송비용을 절감하는 것이 핵심적인 방안이라고 하겠다. 이에 본 논문에서는 철도화물의 활성화와 우리나라의 철도구조개혁의 성공적인 추진을 위해서 우리와 지형조건이 비슷하고, 1987년에 철도민영화를 시행하여 현재 16년이 경과한 일본철도화물의 현황을 분석하여, 현재까지의 문제점을 밝히고 또한 우리나라의 철도화물수송정책에 시사하는 바를 정리해 보았다. 1987년 민영화 이후 일본철도화물수송현황을 보면 영업거리, 화차대수를 포함한 수송능력 감소로 수송량은 감소하였으나, 화물수송의 장거리와 추세와 컨테이너수송량의 증가, 인력감축으로 영업성적은 전반적으로 향상되고 있다. 문제점으로는 경영면에서는 낮은 생산성 그리고 노후장비 등으로 인한 높은 설비투자비지출, 선로사용료 등의 부담 등이 지적되었다. 운영상에서는 현재 선로를 소유하지 못하여 네트워크가 부족하여 자유로운 열차편성이 어렵고, 포워더 기능이 없어 현재 전체물량의 85%를 점하는 소운송구간에서 다른 운송주체간의 수송으로 일관수송서비스에 어려움이 있으며, 직접적인 영업을 하지 못하여, 새로운 수요창출에 어려움이 있다. 이러한 문제점의 해결책으로는 먼저 정부의 인프라에 명확한 책임분담과 이에 따른 지원이 필요하다. 이와 같은 철도화물활성화의 정책수립필요성의 배경에는 철도화물수송이 효율성과 환경친화성, 높은 안전성 등 사회적 비용을 감소시키는 장점을 가지고 때문이다. 철도화물운송회사도 현재의 수송기능과 함께 포워더로서의 기능을 가져야 할 것이며, 운임인하노력과 속도향상을 위한 노력을 계속하여야 할 것이다.

Analysis of Open Toll Segments in Urban Freeways (개방식고속도로 통행특성과 영업체계 전환분석)

  • Two variations of toll roads exist: mainline toll plazas and entry/exit tolls. On a mainline toll system(open toll scheme), all vehicles stop at various locations along the highway to pay a toll. While this may save money from the lack of need to construct tolls at every exit, it can cause lots of traffic congestion, and drivers could evade tolls by going around them. With entry/exit tolls, vehicles collect a ticket when entering the highway, which displays the fares it will pay when it exits, increasing in cost for distance travelled. Upon exit, the driver will pay the amount listed for the given exit. The pressures on the Seoul ring roadway network have been changing over time. In the past, the emphasis was on mobility and maintenance of the road network to provide an efficient transportation network, but recently, road use has outstripped the network's ability to extend and expand the road network and hence the policy emphasis has moved towards reducing free riders rather than mitigating its effects. In addition to this pressure is an incidental pressure, which argues that provision of free ride segments generates further traffic in isolation of other factors. This paper is examining policies to reduce the burden of traffic congestion in Seoul ring roadway which is used open toll scheme for decades. One key mechanism to achieve this policy aim is automatic charging mechanism on freeway, but if a nation-wide electronic toll collection is to be implemented successfully, there are a number of prerequisites which must be place.

  • 금융산업에서 인터넷을 본격적인 영업 채널로 활용하는 비중이 높아지고 사이버금융의 확산에 따라 고객과의 거리를 좁히면서 금융기관의 수익성을 높이는 방안으로 eCRM 등 고객 맞춤화 전략이 최근 국내외에서 주목을 받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 금융정보기술의 발전 단계에 있어서 eCRM 의 위치를 살펴보며, 국민은행 인터넷뱅킹의 개발 배경과 그 유형을 논의하며, 고객의 니즈를 찾아내고 이에 맞추어 가치를 창출하는 방법으로서 개인화의 종류들을 살펴본다. 또한 원투원 마케팅의 실현 기법들과 실제로 국민은행의 eCRM 과정에서 이들이 어떻게 구현되었는지를 논의한다.

An Analysis on Truck Trip Chaining (화물자동차의 통행행태 분석(통행사슬 분석을 중심으로))

  • There are unique aspects of truck vehicle movements compared with the personal travel in trip chaining. This paper reports an analysis on the truck vehicle trip chaining which intercity/metropolitan/intraregional trips are classified. Data collected from the travel dairy survey is used the truck trip-chaining analysis. The pattern of trip chaining classes is classified by the GIS mapping based on orgin-destination trip information. The physical index and efficiency index for each trip diary is used to the truck vehicle activity. Truck trips lengths and time differs from its truck type, service type and travel patterns. It is shown that the efficiency of the truck trip chaining depends on vehicle types and its delivery patterns. There are many other topics for research on trip chaining modeling such as the classification of trip chain, time use and mode choice by trip chaining.

International Comparison of Railway Freight Performance (국가별 철도물류 운영현황 비교연구)

  • This study aims to quantify the railway freight performance using various indicators, to compare it over many countries, and to evaluate efficiency of railway freight in Korea. The indicators developed in this study was classified into two categories; country-specific and company-specific indicator. The former includes freight train density, average gross train load and average haul while the latter contains revenue/ton-km, ratio of operating costs to revenue, revenue per employee, ton-km per employee, costs per ton-km and ratio of labor costs to total operating costs. The results of this study shows that Korail performance is in low efficiency due to multi-frequency small amounts transport. The productivity of railway freight in Korea represented as ton-km per employee appears to be lower than that of other oversea companies considered in this study.

Emission Rates Estimation by Vehicle Type in Seoul Using the Vehicle Inspection Data (차량 검사 데이터를 활용한 서울시 자동차 유형별 배출 가스량 원단위 산정)

  • One of the major causes of serious air pollution worldwide is emissions from road transportation. A number of countries are working to reduce vehicle emissions, and the Seoul Metropolitan Government is also implementing active policies to reduce emissions by setting a target of 40% by 2030. Implementing these policies requires the introduction of practical indicators. Most of the domestic emissions are calculated by the emission coefficient, a function of speed at the National Institute of Environmental Research under the Ministry of Environment, but the dynamic variable speed is limited to being used as an indicator of the number of eco-friendly vehicles. Therefore, this study calculated the emission rates in Seoul using the vehicle registration data of Seoul and the vehicle inspection data from the Korea Transportation Safety Authority. The tendency of emissions was determined according to key variables such as vehicle type, fuel and mileage. Emissions were based on carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides and particulate matter measured by vehicle inspection from the Korea Transportation Safety Authority. As a result, the emission rates showed a significant trend according to the model year and mileage. This can be used as a policy indicator to preferentially switch commercial vehicles with old model years and long mileage when switching eco-friendly vehicles in Seoul.

Impact of GTX-A Line to Seoul Metropolitan Integrated Public Transit Fare Paradox (GTX-A 노선의 수도권 통합대중교통 요금 Paradox 영향 추정)

  • Seoul Metropolitan Urban Railroad has an undecided route that does not estimate the passenger transportation route. For this reason, the fare of the urban railroad is calculated by the assumption that passengers pass through the minimum distance. Therefore, if a transfer station on the urban railroad is added, the trip shortest distance could be decreased and the fare also reduced. In this study, this phenomenon defines the fare paradox(Shin, 2022) and estimates the impact of the fare paradox by opening the GTX-A. For this purpose, a scenario before and after the opening of the GTX-A has been established, and an additional fare has been estimated by proportional planning of the Seoul Metropolitan Integrated Distance Based Fare Policy. Fare Paradox was analyzed to about 0.024 % of daily income. It is expected to be used as a plan to determine a rate policy, such as the establishment of a GTX-A, B, C, D, and a light rail line.

Modeling the Distribution Demand Estimation for Urban Rail Transit (퍼지제어를 이용한 도시철도 분포수요 예측모형 구축)

  • In this study, we suggested a new approach method forecasting distribution demand of urban rail transit usign fuzzy control, with intend to reflect irregularity and various functional relationship between trip length and distribution demand. To establish fuzzy control model and test this model, the actual trip volume(production, attraction and distribution volume) and trip length (space distance between a departure and arrival station) of Daegu subway line 1 were used. Firstly, usign these data we established a fuzzy control model, nd the estimation accuracy of the model was examined and compared with that of generalized gravity model. The results showed that the fuzzy control model was superior to gravity model in accuracy of estimation. Therefore, wwe found that fuzzy control was able to be applied as a effective method to predict the distribution demand of urban rail transit. Finally, to increase the estimation precision of the model, we expect studies that define membership functions and set up fuzzy rules organized with neural networks.
