There are many tube and pipeline in nuclear power plant under high temperature and high pressure. Erosion and corrosion defects were expected on these tube and pipe-line by environmental and mechanical factors. These erosion and corrosion defects ran be evaluated by ultrasonic technique. In these study, Scanning Laser Source(SLS) technique was applied to detect defect and construct image. This technique also makes detection possible on rough and curved surfaces such as tube and pipe-line by scanning. Conventional ultrasonic scanning technique requires immersion of specimen or water jet for transferring ultrasonic wave between transducer and specimen. However, this SLS technique does not need contacting and couplant to generate surface wave and to get flaw images. Therefore, this SLS technique has several advantages, for complicated production inspection, non-contact, remote from specimen, and high resolution. In this study, SLS images were obtained with various conditions of generation laser ultrasound and receiving in order to enhance detectability of flaws on the tube. Stress corrosion cracks were produced on tube and images of stress corrosion cracks were constructed by using SLS technique.

In this paper, we propose a color transient improvement (CTI) algorithm based on image fusion to improve the color transient in the television(TV) receiver or in the MPEG decoder. Video image signals are composed of one luminance and two chrominance components, and the chrominance signals have been more band-limited than the luminance signals since the human eyes usually cannot perceive changes in chrominance over small areas. However, nowadays, as the advanced media like high-definition TV(HDTV) is developed, the blurring of color is perceived visually and affects the image quality. The proposed CTI method improves the transient of chrominance signals by exploiting the high-frequency information of the luminance signal. The high-frequency component extracted from the luminance signal is modified by spatially adaptive weights and added to the input chrominance signals. The spatially adaptive weight is estimated to minimize the ${\iota}_2-norm$ of the error between the original and the estimated chrominance signals in a local window. Experimental results with various test images show that the proposed algorithm produces steep and natural color edge transition and the proposed method outperforms conventional algorithms in terms of both visual and numerical criteria.

In accordance with a demand for high quality video streaming, it needs high data rate in limited bandwidth and more traffic congestion occurs. In particular, when providing real time video service, packet loss rate and bit error probability increase significantly. To solve these problems, a raptor code, which is one of FEC(Forward Error Correction) techniques, is pervasively used in the application layers as a method for improving real-time service quality. In this paper, we propose a method of determining image transmission parameters based on various deep neural networks to increase transmission efficiency at a similar level of image quality by using raptor codes. The proposed neural network uses the packet loss rate, video encoding rate and data rate as inputs, and outputs raptor FEC parameters and packet sizes. The results of the proposed method present that the throughput is 1.2% higher than that of the existing multimedia transmission technique by optimizing the transmission efficiency at a PSNR(Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio) level similar to that of the existing technique.

This paper proposes a new terrestrial 3DTV broadcasting standard specification based on synchronization with non-real-time contents in order to overcome quality limitations of the current 3DTV services that are arisen from the limited bandwidth of the legacy broadcasting channel. In the services using the proposed specification, one view sequence of a stereoscopic video content is delivered as a non-real-time content in idle time, and the other view sequence is transmitted in real time broadcasting signal, thereafter two sequences are synchronized in a receiver for display. Thus, it is possible to provide higher-quality stereoscopic video content services than the current 3DTV services. In order to realize these services, a new mechanism is required which enables synchronization between the data that are from different transmission media and time. Therefore, this paper suggests a solution by multiplexing the synchronization signals of non-real-time contents into broadcasting signals with real-time streams together. This solution can provide a accurate synchronization mechanism by minimum updates of legacy broadcasting systems while maintaining compatibility with legacy services.
In diagnostic radiology, the imaging system has been changed from film/screen to digital system. However, the method for removing scatter radiation such as anti-scatter grid has not kept pace with this change. Therefore, authors have devised the indirect flat panel detector (FPD) system with net-like lead in substrate layer which can remove the scattered radiation. In clinical context, there are many radiographic examinations with angulated incident X-ray. However, our proposed FPD has net-like lead foil so the vertical lead foil to the angulate incident X-ray would have bad effect on its performance. In this study, we identified the effect of vertical/horizontal lead foil component on the novel system's performance and improved the structure of novel system for clinical usage with angulated incident X-ray. Grid exposure factor and image contrast were calculated to investigate various structure of novel system using Monte Carlo simulation software when the incident X-ray was tilted ($0^{\circ}$, $15^{\circ}$, and $30^{\circ}$ from the detector plane). More photons were needed to obtain same image quality in the novel system with vertical lead foil only then the system with horizontal lead foil only. An optimal structure of novel system having different heights of its vertical and horizontal lead foil component showed improved performance compared with the novel system in a previous study. Therefore, the novel system will be useful in a clinical context with the angulated incident X-ray if the height and direction of lead foil in the substrate layer are optimized as the condition of conventional radiography.

Television News has significant impact on the information analysis of viewers by delivering world news to anonymous individuals everyday. We need to pay more attention to resolution considering the fact that even slight facial expression and the dress of TV anchor can be noticed by viewers in the high definition age, called HD TV, by radical changes in broadcasting situation. As a result, the beauty of expression that lighting technology has is extremely important in the high definition age. In news broadcast, as a phenomenon according to this change in trend, people have been looking for change in order to break with traditional TV news production by adopting DLP(Digital Lighting Processing) or LED(Light Emitting Diode). This effort has contributed to creating proper picture quality appropriate for HD TV. Nowadays Digital imaging is creating new trend in TV news production method from traditional analog-based lighting environment thanks to the development of IT(Information Technology) and digitalized lighting equipment. This change has led to building of HD studio and appropriate sets and lighting system. There are film set and projector which projects image on the screen and PDP, LCD, and DLP which has been used widely in recent years and LED which is often used as background in news program as examples, which has appeared since 1990s with HD TV. In this article, I analyzed the KBS News 9 lnce 1990s with in order to research the influence of television image component on the alyzed the KBS of TV article, I. I wille uggest the category of TV anchor image formulation in delivering information by means of lnce 1990s with based on the analysis result.

Techniques for making a single panoramic image using multiple pictures are widely studied in many areas such as computer vision, computer graphics, etc. The panorama image can be applied to various fields like virtual reality, robot vision areas which require wide-angled shots as an useful way to overcome the limitations such as picture-angle, resolutions, and internal informations of an image taken from a single camera. It is so much meaningful in a point that a panoramic image usually provides better immersion feeling than a plain image. Although there are many ways to build a panoramic image, most of them are using the way of extracting feature points and matching points of each images for making a single panoramic image. In addition, those methods use the RANSAC(RANdom SAmple Consensus) algorithm with matching points and the Homography matrix to transform the image. The SURF(Speeded Up Robust Features) algorithm which is used in this paper to extract featuring points uses an image's black and white informations and local spatial informations. The SURF is widely being used since it is very much robust at detecting image's size, view-point changes, and additionally, faster than the SIFT(Scale Invariant Features Transform) algorithm. The SURF has a shortcoming of making an error which results in decreasing the RANSAC algorithm's performance speed when extracting image's feature points. As a result, this may increase the CPU usage occupation rate. The error of detecting matching points may role as a critical reason for disqualifying panoramic image's accuracy and lucidity. In this paper, in order to minimize errors of extracting matching points, we used $3{\times}3$ region's RGB pixel values around the matching points' coordinates to perform intermediate filtering process for removing wrong matching points. We have also presented analysis and evaluation results relating to enhanced working speed for producing a panorama image, CPU usage rate, extracted matching points' decreasing rate and accuracy.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the change in the X-ray condition on the entrance surface dose (ESD) and dose area product (DAP) in the cine imaging of coronary angiography (CAG), and to analyze the usefulness of the condition change on the dose relation and image quality by measuring and analyzing the Signal to Noise Radio (SNR) and Contrast to Nois Ratio (CNR) of the angiographic images taken by the Image J program. Data were collected from 33 patients (24 males and 9 females) who underwent CAG at this hospital from November 2017 to March 2018. In terms of imaging condition and data acquisition, the ESD and DAP of group A with a high tube current of 397.2 mA and group B with a low tube current of 370.7 mA were retrospectively obtained for comparison and analysis. For the SNR and CNR measurement and analysis via Image J, the result values were derived by substituting the obtained data into the formula. The correlations among ESD and DAP according to the change in the imaging condition, SNR, and CNR were analyzed by using the SPSS statistical analysis software. The relationships of groups A and B, having a difference in the imaging condition, mA, with ESD ($A:483.5{\pm}60.1$; $B: 464.4{\pm}39.9$) and DAP ($A:84.3{\pm}10.7$; $B:81.5{\pm}7$) were not statistically significant (p>0.05). In the relationships with SNR and CNR based on Image J, the SNR ($5.451{\pm}0.529$) and CNR ($0.411{\pm}0.0432$) of the images obtained via the left coronary artery (LCA) imaging of group B showed differences of $0.475{\pm}0.096$ and $-0.048{\pm}0.0$, respectively, from the SNR ($4.976{\pm}0.433$) and CNR ($0.459{\pm}0.0431$) of the LCA of group A. However, the differences were not statistically significant (p<0.05). In the SNR and CNR obtained via the right coronary artery (RCA) imaging, the SNR ($4.731{\pm}0.773$) and CNR ($0.354{\pm}0.083$) of group A showed increased values of $1.491{\pm}0.405$ and $0.188{\pm}0.005$, respectively, from the SNR ($3.24{\pm}0.368$) and CNR ($0.166{\pm}0.033$) of group B. Among these, CNR was statistically significant (p<0.05). In the correlation analysis, statistically significant results were shown in SNR (LCA) and CNR (LCA); SNR (RCA) and CNR (RCA); ESD and DAP; ESD and sec; DAP and CNR (RCA); and DAP and sec (p<0.05). As a result of the analyses on the image quality evaluation and usefulness of the dose change, the SNR and CNR were increased in the RCA images of the CAG obtained by increasing the mA. Based on the result that CNR showed a statistically significant difference, it is believed that the contrast in the image quality can be further improved by increasing the mA in RCA imaging.

In this paper, enhanced multiresolution motion estimation(MRME) using reduction of one-pixel shift in wavelet domain is proposed. Conventional multiresolution motion estimation using hierarchical relationship of wavelet coefficient has difficulty for accurate motion estimation due to shift-variant property by decimation process of the wavelet transform. Therefore, to overcome shift-variant property of wavelet coefficient, two level wavelet transform is performed. In order too reduce one-pixel shift on low band signal, S$_4$ band is interpolated by inserting average value. Secondly, one level wavelet transform is applied to the interpolated S$_4$ band. To estimate initial motion vector, block matching algorithm is applied to low band signal S$_{8}$. Multiresolution motion estimation is performed at the rest subbands in low level. According to the experimental results, proposed method showed 1-2dB improvement of PSNR performance at the same bit rate as well as subjective quality compared with the conventional multiresolution motion estimation(MRME) methods and full-search block matching in wavelet domain.
The H.264/AVC video coding standard performs inter prediction using variable block sizes to improve coding efficiency. Since we predict not only the motion of homogeneous regions but also the motion of non-homogeneous regions accurately using variable block sizes, we can reduce residual information effectively. However, each motion vector should be transmitted to the decoder. In low bit rate environments, motion vector information takes approximately 40% of the total bitstream. Thus, motion vector competition was proposed to reduce the amount of motion vector information. Since the size of the motion vector difference is reduced by motion vector competition, it requires only a small number of bits for motion vector information. However, we need to send the corresponding index of the best motion vector predictor for decoding. In this paper, we propose a new codeword table based on the phased-in code to encode the index of motion vector predictor efficiently. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm reduces the average bit rate by 7.24% for similar PSNR values, and it improves the average image quality by 0.36dB at similar bit rates.
