A study on the improvement of the network fee system under network neutrality (망 중립성 하에서 망 이용대가 개선에 대한 연구)

  • As Internet traffic surges due to global CPs, a request to share network investment costs has emerged in the industry. This has significantly changed the issue of the principle of network neutrality from accessibility to network fee. Some of the academic researchers had a negative view to network fees in the Internet space. However, in the industry, a number of disputes have occurred and some have escalated into court battles, and attention has been focused on the court's decision. The courts began to accept fee-for-service under network neutrality, and the government responded quickly by revising regulations. However, it still focuses on service stability, and there is no regulation that directly stipulates payment of network fee. In the study, changes in network neutrality were verified by analyzing cases of disputes between operators, court judgments, and improvement of regulations. And referring to the tragedy of the commons, the restoration of the correct price signal based on the principle of beneficiary pays was suggested as the most important solution. The payment of network fee by CP is one of the solutions.

  • In an era where non-face-to-face meetings become common, eXtended Reality(XR) is rapidly developing and filling areas that are not satisfied in online meetings based on existing photos/video method. In particular, general users are also able to easily access and use HMD-type mixed reality devices. However, the basic operations applied in HMD-type in Mixed Reality(MR) with hands as the main input tool do not have a standardized system, and each manufacturer operates in a separate response to each other's hand movements. Therefore, this study considered that a systematic hand motion matching system considering the usability and efficiency of operations performed in mixed reality was necessary, and conducted a study to clarify this. First, the basic operation performed in the MR environment and its attributes were investigated, and at the same time, the structure of the hand and the attributes of the possible hand movements were identified. Based on the identified properties, it is intended to present a system that can intuitively and efficiently match basic operation properties in the MR environment with subtle operation properties according to the structure/context of the hand.

  • Recently, the role of the kitchen has evolved from the space for previous survival to the space that shows the present life and culture. Along with these changes, the use of IoT technology is spreading. As a result, the development and diffusion of new smart devices in the kitchen is being achieved. The user experience for using these smart devices is also becoming important. For a natural interaction between a user and a computer, better interactions can be expected based on context awareness. This paper examines the Natural User Interface (NUI) that does not touch the device based on the user interface (UI) of the smart device used in the kitchen. In this method, we use the image processing technology to recognize the user's hand gesture using the camera attached to the device and apply the recognized hand shape to the interface. The gestures used in this study are proposed to gesture according to the user's context and situation, and 5 kinds of gestures are classified and used in the interface.

  • With the development of cultural industries and technology, digital video marketing has grown immensely and 'Book Trailer' are now one of the main methods of promoting a title in publishing industry. The demands are growing, but the development lacks basic theoretical foundation and systematic structure. At this crucial moment, basic theoretical research on Book Trailer is necessary to establish a solid foundation for the medium to expand. In this study, I have focused on defining the basic concepts of Book Trailers and analyzing the classification of Book Trailers. In sorting the type of Book Trailers, content and formal appearance were used as standards. As a result, I was able to classify the content genre into message type, conflict type, character type using the elements of story. The formal appearance genre was classified into still photography type, motion typography type, interview type, story movie type and animation type.

  • After the Korona 19, "social distancing" was implemented, existing "pop culture" or entertainment programs were unable to communicate in both directions and declined. Since then, "Untact content" has shown its potential to grow due to untouch performances such as BTS' "Bangbangcon" and the rapid growth of Netflix, a global OTT (online video service). In addition, most of the global and Untact content is online and digital, which means a huge amount of big data will be poured out. Therefore, analyzing the big data poured out during the distribution of untact content will help us identify consumers' needs, and the growth expectations will also be high. Therefore, we would like to explore the research cases that have been conducted in existing studies regarding the subject of the study and analyze how big data can affect the distribution of content in the Untact era.

  • Because the movie has the characteristics of a cultural product where experience is important, a promotional strategy is used to convert viewers into movie audiences by providing indirect experiences of movies through professional movie information programs. Considering that the movie information program is a strategic publicity medium that raises the audience's intention to watch a movie, a study on the data service that provides useful additional information to the viewer in conjunction with the movie information program is meaningful. Against this background, this study contains the core research contents in the development of data service linked with movie information program. Specifically, additional information of the movie information program was defined. And to provide the additional information to the data service, the digital broadcasting international standard DVB-SI-based additional information transmission method was devised.

  • The advent of the 4th Industrial Revolution due to the trigger of digital technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data has caused many changes in society, culture, and industry. However, traditional markets in each region are not responding quickly to new distribution environments and consumer changes. In particular, in the case of traditional markets in Jeju, regional characteristics such as marketing strategies for tourists visiting Jeju have not been utilized. Therefore, this study proposes the establishment of a smart traditional market based on big data and artificial intelligence that utilizes the regional characteristics of Jeju. The research contents include customer profiling through visitor big data analysis, providing tourist movement results through traffic analysis, providing real-time popular product charts, and developing video-based fire and crime prevention functions.

  • 꼭두서니과 커피속 식물의주요 2차대사산물인 카페인은 커피나무, 카카오, 차나무 등에서 관찰되는 알칼로이드 화합물로 다른 식물의 발아 억제, 살충 기능이 알려져 있다. 인체에 있어 카페인은 각성효과가 있어 수면 장애나 불안을 유발할 수 있으며 섭취를 중단 시 졸음, 두통 등 금단 증상을 나타나기도 한다. 최근 다양한 식물 종과 부위를 이용한 차 문화가 확산되고 있는 바, 본 연구는 시중에서 판매되고 있는 커피 2종류과 녹차 2종류를 비롯하여 꽃차 37종류, 잎차 15종류, 씨앗차 2종류, 열매차 1종류 및 뿌리차 2종류를 대상으로 메탄올 추출 후 gas chromatography-mass spectrometry를 이용하여 카페인 함량에 대한 정성, 정량 분석을 수행하였다. 대조로 사용된 시판 커피 2개사 제품은 각각 1.18 mg/g, 35.94 mg/g의 caffeine 함량을 나타냈으며 시판 녹차 티백 제품 2종은 1.3 mg/g, 3.42 mg/g의 함량을 나타내었다. 조사된 37종의 꽃차 중에는 차나무 꽃차에서만 1.50 mg/g 수준의 caffeine이 검출되었을 뿐 국내 소비가 확대되고 있는 구절초, 국화, 금계국, 금목서, 금어초, 금잔화, 노랑코스모스, 당아욱, 도라지, 동백나무, 뚱딴지, 라벤다, 마리골드(노랑), 마리골드(주황), 매화, 맨드라미, 무궁화, 백목련, 벚나무, 복사나무, 비단향꽃무, 생강나무, 수레국화, 아까시나무, 연꽃, 유채, 작약, 장미, 진달래, 천일홍, 캐모마일, 패랭이꽃, 팬지, 해당화, 홍화, 히비스커스 등 36종에서는 카페인이 검출되지 않았다. 잎차의 경우 레몬그라스, 레몬밤, 로즈마리, 뽕나무, 세인트존스워트, 스테비아, 쑥, 애플민트, 연잎, 적양배추, 조릿대, 차수국, 티트리, 파인애플민트, 페퍼민트 등 평가된 15종류 모두에서 카페인이 검출되지 않았으며, 씨앗차인 펜넬 및 작두콩, 열매차인 진피차, 뿌리차인 자색당근과 비트차에서 역시 카페인이 검출되지 않았다. 이상의 결과에 기초할 때, 시판되는 다양한 식물 종과 부위를 이용한 차의 경우 대부분 caffeine을 함유하지 않음을 알 수 있었다.

Deep-Learning-based smartphone application for automatic recognition of ingredients on curved containers (곡면 용기에 표시된 성분표 자동 인식을 위한 인공지능 기반 스마트폰 애플리케이션)

  • Consumers should look at the ingredients of cosmetics or food for their health and purchase them after checking whether they contain allergy-causing ingredients. Therefore, this paper aimed to develop an artificial intelligence-based smartphone application for automatically recognizing the ingredients displayed on a curved container and delivering it to consumers in an easy-to-understand manner. The app needs to allow consumers to immediately comprehend the restricted ingredients by recognizing the ingredients' words in the cropped image. Two major issues should be solved during the development process: First, although there were flat containers for cosmetics or food, most were curved containers. Thus, it was necessary to recognize the ingredient table displayed on the curved containers. Second, since the ingredients' words were displayed on the curved surface, the transformed or line-changed words also needed to be recognized. The proposed new methods were enough to solve the above two problems. The application developed through various tests verified that there was no problem recognizing the ingredients' words contained in a cylindrical curved container.

A Study on the Improvement of Archival Content Services in the Museum of Performing Arts of the National Theater of Korea through Comparisons and Analyses of UK and US Performing Arts Archives (영미권 공연예술아카이브 비교·분석을 통한 국립극장 공연예술박물관 기록정보콘텐츠 개선 방안 연구)

  • At present, domestic archives within the realm of performing arts predominantly focus on recording through videos, yet they often lack comprehensive documentation of crucial production processes and content services. Recognizing the contemporary significance of archival content services, this study analyzes the archival content within the national performing arts archives websites of the United Kingdom and the United States, serving as international benchmarks. The findings extrapolate insights and implications to propose enhancements for the Museum of Performing Arts in the National Theater of Korea. The analysis focused mainly on the missions and visions on the websites, examining 107 contents from the UK National Theater, 27 from the United States, and 9 from Korea. The suggested improvements encompass clarifying target users and execution tasks in the mission and vision statements, fostering expert collaborations, incorporating preview features, curating content with a single theme, and organizing a comprehensive list on the National Theater's YouTube channel.
