Exogenous enzymes which, for the purpose of this paper, include phytase, $\beta$-glucanase, pentosanase and $\alpha$-galactosidase, are now extensively used throughout the world as aditives in swine diets. The chemical effects of these enzymes are well understand. However, the manner in which their benefits to the swine are brought about is still under debate. Phytase was to increase the availability of plant phytate phosphorus, which reduces phosphorus pollution and allows reductions in the amount of inorganic phosphate used. Also, enzymes have been discovered which have the potential to break down deleterious compounds commonly found in swine rations such as $\beta$-glucanase contained in barley and oats and the soluble pentosans found in rye and wheat thus increasing the digestibility of these non-starch polysaccharides. Future research in these area will allow for more efficient use of the current enzymes, development of more efficient future products and development of more thermotolerant enzymes.
The deep geological repository for high-level radioactive waste disposal is a multi barrier system comprised of engineered barriers and a natural barrier. The long-term integrity of the deep geological repository is affected by the coupled interactions between the individual barrier components. Erosion and piping phenomena in the compacted bentonite buffer due to buffer-rock interactions results in the removal of bentonite particles via groundwater flow and can negatively impact the integrity and performance of the buffer. Rapid groundwater inflow at the early stages of disposal can lead to piping in the bentonite buffer due to the buildup of pore water pressure. The physiochemical processes between the bentonite buffer and groundwater lead to bentonite swelling and gelation, resulting in bentonite erosion from the buffer surface. Hence, the evaluation of erosion and piping occurrence and its effects on the integrity of the bentonite buffer is crucial in determining the long-term integrity of the deep geological repository. Previous studies on bentonite erosion and piping failed to consider the complex coupled thermo-hydro-mechanical-chemical behavior of bentonite-groundwater interactions and lacked a comprehensive model that can consider the complex phenomena observed from the experimental tests. In this technical note, previous studies on the mechanisms, lab-scale experiments and numerical modeling of bentonite buffer erosion and piping are introduced, and the future expected challenges in the investigation of bentonite buffer erosion and piping are summarized.
The characteristics of the foundry sand were analyzed for water jacket core required to prevent structural deformation from the heat generated in the cylinder bore during the casting of the cylinder block of an automobile. The sand core tensile strength tester, AFS-GFN, and optical microscope were used to evaluate the its properties. If the SiO2 content is high in the foundry sand, the dimensional defects and veining defects occur due to high temperature expansion. Also, if it is too low, the core breakage, porosities, chemical burn-on defects occur. The particle size index and grain shape influenced the core strength and resin consumption, resulting in fluctuations in defect types. The higher the alkalinity of the dried sand, the lower the core strength. And the more basic, the lower the core strength. At the resin content of 1.6~1.8%, the increase in core strength after 1 hour curing was approximately at its maximum.

Biochar (BC) from biomass pyrolysis is a carbonaceous material that has been used to remove various contaminants in the environment. The eliminatory action for burcucumber (Sicyos angulatus L.) as an invasive plant is being consistently carried out because of its harmfulness and ecosystem disturbance. In this study, burcucumber biomass was converted into BCs at different pyrolysis temperatures of 300 and $700^{\circ}C$ under a limited oxygen condition. Produced BCs were characterized and investigated to ensure its efficiency on antibiotics' removal in water. The adsorption experiment was performed using two different types of antibiotics, tetracycline (TC) and sulfamethazine (SMZ). For the BC pyrolyzed at a high temperature ($700^{\circ}C$), the values of pH, electrical conductivity, and the contents of ash and carbon increased whereas the yield, mobile matter, molar ratios of H/C and O/C, and functional groups decreased. Results showed that the efficiency of BCs on antibiotics' removal increased as pyrolysis temperature increased from 300 to $700^{\circ}C$ (38 to 99% for TC and 6 to 35% for SMZ). The reaction of ${\pi}-{\pi}$ EDA (electron-donor-acceptor) might be involved in antibiotics' adsorption to BCs. BC has potential to be a superior antibiotics' adsorbent with environmental benefit by recycling of waste/invasive biomass.
The relationship between chemical structures and biological activities is researched briskly in the area of 'Medicinal Chemistry' At the base of these structure-based drug design tries, medicinal chemists search the existing drugs of similar chemical structure to target drug for the development of a new drug. Therefore, it is such necessary that an automatic system selects drug files that have a set of chemical moieties matching a user-defined query moiety. Substructure searching is the process of identifying a set of chemical moieties that match a specific query moiety. Testing for substructure searching was developed in the late 1950s. In graph theoretical terms, this problem corresponds to determining which graphs in a set are subgraph isomorphic to a specified query moiety. Testing for subgraph isomorphism has been proved, in the general case, to be an NP- complete problem. For the purpose of overcoming this difficulty, there were computational approaches. On the 1990s, a US patent has been granted on an atom-centered indexing scheme, used by the RS3 system; this has the virtue that the indexes generated can be searched by direct text comparison. This system is commercially used(http://www.acelrys.com/rs3). We define the RS3 system's drawback and present a new indexing scheme. The RS3 system treats substructure searching with substring matching by means of expressing chemical structure aspredefined strings. However, it has insufficient 'rerall' and 'precision‘ because it is impossible to index structures uniquely for same atom and same bond. To resolve this problem, we make the minimum-cost- spanning tree for one centered atom and describe a structure with paths per levels. Expressing 2D chemical structure into 1D a string has limit. Therefore, we break 2D chemical structure into 1D structure fragments. We present in this paper a new index technique to improve recall and precision surprisingly.

Bridge deck has a role in a comfortable and safe passage of vehicles. At the same time, it preserves upper structure against the abrasion and shearing due to impact of traffic loads in bridges or has a role to protect the plate from off adverse effect of climatic process as rain, chemicals. Currently, the total number of inspected bridges is 6,248 in the general national road and to maintain effectively, Introduction of GPR system mounted in the vehicle has been considered. In this research, the comparison and analysis of bridge deck condition on general national road has been performed with major variations of superstructure type, span lengths, located region and ages by using 'the current status of road bridge and tunnel' that is provided by MLTM(Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs). As a result, Condition assessment grade, superstructure type, age and length were derived as a major factor to determine priority for the condition assessment.
Rate constants and activation parameters for the methanolysis of t-butyl halide (t-BuCl, t-BuBr, t-BuI) in various MeOH-DMSO mixtures were measured by conductometric method. Taft's solvatochromic parameters, such as polarity-polarizability(SPP's), ${\pi}^{\ast}$, hydrogen bond donor (HBD) acidity, ${\alpha}$, and hydrogen bond acceptor (HBA) basicity, ${\beta}$ of the solvents, were determined by the so called solvatochromic method using five indicators. The variation of methanolysis rate with the solvent composition was discussed on the basis of the activation parameters and the correlation of the rates with the solvatochromic parameters. It is concluded that the polarity-polarizability, HBD acidity and HBA basicity of the mixtures had an effect on the ionization of t-butyl halide cooperatively, also that the specific interaction between the leaving groups and the solvents, such as ion-dipole and hydrogen bond acceptor-donor interaction, is the most important factor of solvent effects on the stabilization of transition states.
An empirical Lewis basicity, DN, for eight mixed methanol solvents has been measured by the solvatochromic behavior of the [Cu(tmen)(acac)]$CIO_4$. The change of DN in mixed methanol solvents is not correlated with composition of the mixtures and divided into three groups: (1) dipolar aprotic solvents contribute mainly to the solvation of solute (MeOH-DMSO, MeOH-PY, MeOH-DMF), (2) two components of mixture contribute equally to the solvation of solute (MeOH-MeCN, MeOH-dioxane, MeOH-AC) and (3) methanol contributes entirely to the solvation of solute (MeOH-DCE, MeOH-TCE). The relationship between DN and Kamlet-Taft's $B_{KT}$ for mixed methanol solvents was found to agree well. These DN values also were a useful factor to analysis of reactivity for mixed methanol solvents.

Poly(lactic acid) is a linear aliphatic thermoplastic polyester, produced by the ring-opening polymerization of lactides and the lactic acid monomers, which are obtained from the fermentation of sugar feed stocks, corn, etc. PLA has high mechanical, thermal plasticity, fabric-ability, and biocompatibility, So PLA is a promising polymer far various end-use applications. In recent time, the intercalation of polymers from either solution or the melt in the silicate galleries of clay is the best technique to prepare nanocompoiste material which often exhibit remarkable improvement of mechanical, thermal, optical and physicochemical properties when compared with the pure polymer or conventional composites. Layered silicate is naturally abundant, economic, and more importantly benign to the environment.
Stress activates hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis and subsequently increases the systemic levels of glucocorticoids. It also inhibits the release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) from hypothalamus. Korean ginseng (Panax ginseng CA Meyer) has been proven as an anti-stress agent. However, most of the anti-stress effects of ginseng on stresses such as immobilization, electronic foot shock, and cold swim, which subsequently cause oxidative damage in brain, were obtained by using ginseng extract or ginseng total saponin. Moreover, anti-stress and anti-oxidative effects of ginseng were demonstrated by determination of enzyme or hormone levels but not mRNA as well as transcriptome. Further studies on transcriptome, proteomics, and systems biology as well as signal transduction would be required to elucidate molecular action mechanisms of ginseng on stresses.
