A study on the life prolongation of pad mounted transformer through the improvement of heat radiation (지상변압기 방열 개선을 통한 수명연장에 관한 연구)

  • 본 논문에서는 지중배전(22.9kV) 선로에 사용되는 지상변압기를 대상으로 수행한 방열해석 및 개선과 변압기수명연장에 관한 검토 결과를 수록하였다. 변압기의 열화메커니즘에 대한 문헌 조사를 통해 변압기 온도와 수명간의 관계를 작도하였는바, 수명 평가를 위한 핵심 인자로 열에 의한 절연지의 열화에 초점을 맞추었다. 기존 외함에 설치된 방열구중 상부 위치를 상부판에도 변경하는 경우 약25%의 통풍량 증가 효과를 기대할 수 있을 것으로 평가 되었으며 상부판과 내함 사이에 형성되던 고온 영역에서의 온도를 약$15^{\circ}C$정도 낮출 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 절연지의 인장강도 변화로 평가한 수명예측 곡선에 따르면 약$10^{\circ}C$의 은도 저감은 약10배의 수명 연장 효과를 가져오는 것으로 나타난바, 본 연구에서 확인한 방열구의 위치 변경에 따른 지상기기 내부의 온도 저하는 변압기 수명을 연장하는데 일조할 것으로 기대된다. 기존 지상변압기에서의 방열구조를 통해 변압기 온도와 수명간의 관계를 작도하였는바, 수명 평가를 위한 핵심인자로 효과적으로 방열할 수 있는 새로운 외함의 구조 및 디자인을 제시하고 시뮬레이션을 통해 개선효과를 예측하였다. 또한, 개선된 모델을 가지고 실제 변압기를 제작한 후 부하를 인가하여 개선전과 후에 대한 방열효과를 실증시험을 통해 확인하였다.

Changes of Material Properties of Pre-heated Tuff Specimens (예열처리된 응회암 시험편의 물성 변화)

  • Tuff specimens were thermally treated with predetermined temperatures of 200, 400 and $600^{\circ}C$ to construct specimens simulating weathered tuff rocks. Specific gravity, absorption ratio, elastic wave velocity, uniaxial compressive strength, Brazilian tensile strength, Young's modulus, Poisson's ratio and slake-durability index were measured for pre-heated specimens. Heating of rock specimens entailed the degradation of material properties except for slake-durability index. It was found that correlations among P-wave velocity, uniaxial compressive strength, Brazilian tensile strength, Young's modulus and absorption ratio are high. Regression equations which use the P-wave velocity as an independent variable were presented to evaluate uniaxial compressive strength, Brazilian tensile strength, Young's modulus and absorption ratio.

Estimation of Dynamic Stress Concentration Factor by Infrared Thermography Stress Analysis (적외선 열화상 응력측정법에 의한 동적 응력집중계수 예측)

  • Structural components subjected to high frequency vibrations, such as those used in vibrating parts of gas turbine engines, are usually required to avoid resonance frequencies. Generally, the operating frequency is designed at more than resonance frequencies. When a vibrating structure starts or stops, the structure has to pass through a resonance frequency, which results in large stress concentration. This paper presents the transient thermoelastic stress analysis of vibrating cantilever beam using infrared thermography and finite element method (FEM). In FEM, stress concentration factor at the 2nd resonance vibration mode is calculated by the mode superposition method of ANSYS. In experiment, stress distributions are investigated with infrared thermography and dynamic stress concentration factor is estimated. Experimental result is agreed with FEM result within 10.6%. The advantage of this technique is a better immunity to contact problem and geometric limitation in stress analysis of small or micro structures.

Bending Fatigue Characterization of Al6061 Alloy by Acoustic Nonlinearity of Narrow Band Laser-Generated Surface Wave (협대역 레이저 여기 표면파의 음향버선형성을 이용한 A16061 합금의 굽힘피로손상 평가)

  • Bending fatigue of aluminium alloy was characterized by acoustic nonlinearity of narrow band laser-generated surface wave. The higher harmonic components generated intrinsically by arrayed line laser beam were analyzed theoretically and acoustic nonlinearity was measured successfully on the surface of fatigue damaged aluminium 6061 alloy. The acoustic nonlinearity increased as a function of fatigue cycles and has close relation with damage level. Consequently, the nonlinear acoustic technique of laser-generated surface wave could be potential to characterize surface damages subjected to fatigue.

  • This paper presents the results of artificially accelerated aging characteristics of the rate of rise spot type heat detectors. This experiment carried out to investigate the detector's operating characteristics when a fire was broken out or the regular tests were performed. The result showed that the delay of operating time or no-operation of heat detector which was made by company B and used in the field for 5 years may be occurred even at the $100^{\circ}C$. This result is due to the leakage of inflated air from heat chamber. However the operating display LED was not out of order, even if the temperature was increased up to $160^{\circ}C$.

Degradation Properties and Production of Fuels from Hemicellulose by Pyrolysis-liquefaction (열분해액화반응에 의한 헤미셀룰로오스의 분해특성 및 연료물질 생성)

  • Hemicellulose, consisteing of pentose as xylose and mannose, is usable as high octane fuels and heavy oil additives if depolymerized to monomer unit. In this study, thermochemical degradation by pyrolysis-liquefaction of hemicellulose, the effects of reaction temperature, conversion yield, degradation properties and degradation products were investigated. Experiments were performed in a tube reactor by varying reaction temperatures from $200^{\circ}C$ to $400^{\circ}C$ at 40 min of reaction time. The liquid products from pyrolysis-liquefaction of hemicellulose contained various kinds of ketones. Ketones, as 2,3-dimethyl-2-cyclopenten-1-one, 2,3,4-trimethyl-2-cyclopentan-1-one, and 2-methyl-cyclopentanone, could be used as high-octane-value fuels and fuel additives. However, phenols are not valuable as fuels. Combustion heating value of liquid products obtained from thermochemical conversion processes of hemicellulose was in the range of 6,680~7,170 cal/g. After 40 min of reaction at $400^{\circ}C$ in pyrolysis-liquefaction of hemicellulose, the energy yield and mass yield were as high as 72.2% and 41.2 g oil/100 g raw material, respectively.

  • An infrared thermography technique can be used to inspect a large area simultaneously and to detect defects such as cracks or delaminations in real time. Infrared thermography is a technique in which visual images are formed from the infrared range from subjects according to their thermal radiation. The molecules of all objects are disturbed by heat, and the molecular motion becomes more active when the temperature rises and less active when the temperature falls. In this study, the applicability and feasibility of ultrasound thermography for detecting defects in an engine block, which is a key component in the automobile industry, were verified. A nondestructive reliability test was conducted to study the defects, after which the results were analyzed.

  • The problem of delamination of composite tubes by impact has been acknowledged in aerospace and automobile industry. Non-destructive testing(NDT) methods in composite material structure are important to evaluate reliability of composite structure. There are many kinds of NDT methods which can detect the inside defect of the composite material such as Infrared Thermography(IRT). Infrared thermal imaging of object is different from that of a defect, in heated composite tubes with an internal defect, and then location and size of a defect can be measured by the analysis of thermal imaging pattern. In this study, Lock-in Infrared thermography detect internal defects of Impacted composite tubes by the inspection of infrared lay radiated from the surface of composite tubes.

A Study of Performance Evaluation of Warm Asphalt Binder Properties using LEADCAP(R) additive (중온화 첨가제(LEADCAP(R))를 사용한 중온 아스팔트 바인더의 특성 평가)

  • The objective of this paper is to evaluate the performance of low $CO_2$ asphalt binder properties using LEADCAP$^{(R)}$(Low Energy and Carbon Asphalt Pavement) additive as function of various aging methods such as RTFO(Rolling thin film oven), Ultraviolet(UV) lay. In order to simulate the short-term aging of asphalt binder that occurs during the hot-mixing asphalt process, the Rolling Thin Film Oven(RTFO) was used. Asphalt binder using LEADCAP$^{(R)}$ is prepared by addition of a photoinitiator activated by ultraviolet lay. The mechanical and rheological properties of the asphalt binder were estimated using UTM(Universal Testing Machine) and DSR(Dynamic Shear Rheometer). The test results showed that the asphalt binder using LEADCAP$^{(R)}$ additive was improved the rutting resistance at testing temperature ($70^{\circ}C$) and increased tensile strength at low temperature. Also, Thermal analysis shows that the Melting Point(Tm) of asphalt binder using LEADCAP$^{(R)}$ additive was constant although the asphalt binder was aged by Ultraviolet.

  • 송전용량 증가를 위해 개발되어 최근 본격적으로 사용되고 있는 STACIR/AW 송전선은 송전용량의 증가에 따라 그 운전환경도 변화하여 연속사용온도의 경우, 기존 ACSR 전선의 90t에 비해 높은 $210^{\circ}C$로 규정 되어 있을 만큼 고온에서 운전되고 있다. 따라서 STACIR/AW 송전선은 이도설계와 그 운용에 있어서 운전 온도 상승에 따른 각별한 주의관리가 필요하다 실제 STACIR/AW송전선은 그 설계단계에서도 이와 같은 고온운전 환경을 고려하여 고온에서도 소정강도를 유지하는 내열 Al도체와 이도제어를 위한 낮은 열팽창 특성의 INVAR합금(Fe-35Ni계 합금)을 강선으로 하는 특화된 재료로 구성되어 있다. 그러나 이와 같은 재료 설계적 보완책에도 불구하고 실제 송전선은 전선의 자중, 철탑 간에 형성된 가설장력과 같은 다양한 응력이 고온환경에서 부하되는 복합 열화 상태에 노출되어 있고, 이것은 재료학적인 관점에서 크릴 변형 발생의 가능성을 높이고 있으나 이것에 대한 연구 또는 실험결과는 크게 미미한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 STACIR/AW $410mm^2$ 송전선과 그 구성소재를 대상으로 $200^{\circ}C$, $300^{\circ}C$에서 장시간 열화한 후, 구성소재의 탄성계수, 열팽창계수 및 STACIR/AW전선의 크림변형 거동을 조사하여 열화에 노출된 STACIR/AW 송전선의 이도변화 거동을 규명하고자 하였다.
