Middle School Students' Construction of Physics Inquiry Problems and Variables Isolation and Clarification during Small Group Open-inquiry Activities (중학생의 소집단 자유탐구활동 중 물리 영역 탐구문제의 구성과 변인 추출 및 명료화 과정)

  • The study aimed to analyze middle school students construction of physics inquiry problems for open inquiry from the viewpoint of variable isolation and clarification, and investigate students' difficulties during the processes of variable isolation and clarification to get implications for teaching and learning strategies for small group open inquiry activities which have been included in the 2007 national curriculum. The participants were 4 students who had attended an outreach program for the science gifted run by a university institution located in Seoul area. They performed an open inquiry on egg drop for 13 lessons for 30 hours. Level descriptions for variable isolation and clarification have been developed and applied to analyze students' inquiry problems and variables included by the problems. Students iterated inquiry processed 5 times and the inquiry problem showed progress gradually. Dependent variables have been isolated ahead and the levels of variable isolation and clarification showed higher than the independent variables. Many kinds of independent variables isolated extensively and the independent variables and control variables have been mingled. One of the reasons why students had some difficulties in isolation of independent variables could be the absence of theoretical models. The realities of school lab could restrict the variable isolation and clarification as well as topic selections. Some sensory or extensive variables such as broken eggs and drop height seem to be salient to be focused on as core variables. Lack of background knowledges could be one of the reasons for students' difficulties in variable clarification, such as theoretical definitions and operational definitions. As a result of lacking background knowledges, students could not construct theoretical models even though they could isolate and clarify variables as scientific lexical definitions. Some perceptions of inquiry as trial and error or reckless establishment of causal relations between variables could be accounted as one reason.

A Meta-analysis on the Variables Related with Case Management Performance (사례관리수행에 영향을 미치는 변인에 관한 메타분석 연구)

  • This study conducted a meta-analysis on the variables related with case management performance in Korea. In order to do a meta-analysis, a total of 27 journals, theses and dissertations published between 1998 and 2020 were reviewed systematically. Through this process, this study calculated average effect size of each variable and explored moderator variables. This study results were as follows. First, this study identified a total of 14 individual, enviroment of institution, population variables related with case management performance. Second, the results indicated that case management performance variables which showed large effect sizes included professional capability, supervision, network, case management significance recognition, manual, agency support. Third, variables with medium effect sizes included self-efficacy, case management education, autonomy, motivation, number of conference and variables with small effect sizes included work experience, academic ability, age. Fourth, Moderator effects were identified in the field, target, publication of case management. Finally, the implications of the study findings were discussed.

  • 최근 다양한 연령층과 직업군들 사이에서 기능성 신발에 대한 관심이 증대되고 있다. 그러나 기능성 신발 및 맞춤형 신발은 높은 가격대와 긴 제작 시간이 필요하다. 이러한 문제점은 3D 스캐너 도입으로 해결이 가능하나, 정확한 발 형상 측정이 가능한 3D 스캐너는 고가의 장비이기 때문에 매장별 보급이 어렵다. 본 논문은 기능성 신발의 보급을 위하여 저가형 3D 스캐너에서 정확한 발 고유 변인을 측정할 수 있는 시스템에 대해 서술한다. 이를 위해 이를 위해 저가형 Depth Camera를 이용한 저가형 3D 스캐너의 발 형상 3D 점군 데이터를 2차원으로 변형하고, 발 형태를 감싸는 최소 사각형(Min Area Rect)를 형성하여 발 안쪽점 및 발 가쪽점을 추정한다. 생성된 최소 사각형과 발 안쪽점 및 발 가쪽점 등은 발 고유 변인 측정의 기준이 된다. 실험 결과에서는 측정 기준을 이용하여 발 고유 변인인 발 길이, 발 너비, 발꿈치 너비, 발꿈치에서 발안쪽점 및 발 가쪽점 길이 등 5가지 고유 변인을 측정하는 것을 보여준다.

A Study of Academic Engagement and Academic Burnout among Middle School Students (중학생의 학업열의, 학업소진 관련 변인 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to improve academic understanding of middle school students' academic problems by examining their impact on Academic Engagement and Academic Burnout, and to provide basic data to them in preparing various solutions. The Multiple Regression analysis was conducted on 388 middle school students to check the degree of influence on Academic Engagement and Academic Burnout, environmental Variables (parent relationship, friend relationship, teacher relationship) and individual Variables (life satisfaction, happiness, Self-Esteem, autonomy, Attention focused, Grit, depression). According to the analysis of 388 middle school students, the factors affecting Academic Engagement were: attention concentration, teacher relationship, persistence, self-respect, life satisfaction, parent relationship, depression and happiness. Second, the factors affecting Academic Burnout were depression, teacher relationships, friend relationships, parent relationships, persistence, self-respect, and attention. Since then, these findings have suggested directions and implications to prevent Academic Burnout, of middle school students in Korea and to them to Academic Engagement.

The Effects of Personal, Institutional, Social Variables on Determination of The Cyber University Students' Dropout Intention (개인, 교육기관, 사회적 변인이 사이버대 재학생의 중도탈락의도 결정에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the basic data for lowering cyber university students' dropout rate and fostering continuous learning environment through understanding that cyber university student's private variance, an education institute variance and social variance have the impact on a student's determining dropout. For this, we selected students in A cyber university and carried out surveys for 500 students from April first to May 31st, 2009 using convenience sampling. We excluded answers whose results are considered to be insufficient or overlapped among answers of 336 students and used 304 answers in this study. We carried out logistics regression analysis using SPSS for Winow 15.0 for data analysis. First, it proved that individual interest variance affects the dropout. Second, it turned out that educational institute's environment variance has impact on the dropout. Third, it proved that social environment factor affects the dropout. Fourth, only individual variance among individual, an educational institute and social variance has meaningful impact on the dropout in terms of statistics.

The Examination of the Variables related to the Students' e-learning Participation that Have an Effect on Learning Achievement in e-learning Environment of Cyber University (사이버대학 e-러닝환경에서 학업성취도에 영향을 미치는 학습 참여 변인 규명)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the variables related to the students' e-learning participation that have an effect on learning achievement in e-learning environment of cyber universities. Based on the related research, the followings are derive. First, students' attendance and participation in discussion showed higher correlation with the learning achievement than other participation variables. However, the total studying time in online classes showed lower correlation with the learning achievement. Second, the variables that have an effect on the learning achievement were in the order of students' attendance, participation in discussion, access frequency to online classes, learning progress and number of data uploads. Third, by the learners' background, the difference among the variables that have an effect on learning achievement were found. Based on the results above, this study suggests considerations about participation variables to enhance the learning achievement in cyber universities.

  • 본연구는 부부의 경제생활 만족도를 파악하기 위하여 가정의 사회인구학적 변인과 가정의 경제환경에 대한 지각정된 주관적 경제수준 평가 및 부부가 참여하는 가계관리 행동 변인들이 부부의 가정의 경제생활 만족도에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 검증하여 비교 분석 하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 조사대상자는 서울시 거주의 1자녀 이상을 둔 부부로서 500쌍의 설문지 중 367쌍이 본 연구자료로 사용되었다. 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과같다. 남편의 경 제생활 만족도에 여향을 미치는 변인은 소득 적정감 자원 지각도, 상대적 비교감, 자원기여 평가도 경제소준 향상감, 가계관리 참여도, 월평균 가계속득이었으며 부인의 경우에는 소득 적정감 상대적 비교감 자원기여 평가도 자가주택 소유여부 남편의 직업으로 나타났다 남편 과 부인 모두의 경제생활 만족도에 대한 예측력이 가장 큰 변인은 소득 적정감으로 나타났 다 부부의 경제생활 만족도는 주관적 경제수준 평가의 영향력이 사회인구학적 변인의 영향 력보다 상대적으로 큰 것으로 나타났다.

상대적 경제수준이 생활만족도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

  • 본 연구는 경제관련 수준이 생활만족도에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 한국노동패널조사(KLIPS)자료 중 4,294가구 10,553명을 대상으로 지역에 따른 경제관련 변인들의 차이를 분산분석을 통해 알아보았고, 단순한 경제수준 변인이 생활만족도에 미치는 영향과 경제수준을 지역에 따라 표준점수(Z-score)로 환산한 변인이 생활만족도에 미치는 영향을 회귀분석을 통해 비교하였다. 연구 결과 단순한 경제수준보다는 표준점수로 환산된 상대적 경제수준이 더 큰 설명력을 갖는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 일정부분 생활만족도에 정적 영향을 줄 것으로 기대되었던 소득과 지출, 저축 둥 경제수준 관련 변인들이 일관되게 부적 영향을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 가구지출 기준 상위집단과 하위집단에서 동일하게 나타났다. 한 편 상위집단과 하위집단에서의 소득 관련 변인들의 영향력이 일부 상이하게 나타났는데, 상위집단에서는 전년도의 소득이 부적으로 더 근 영향력을 갖는 반면에 하위집단에서는 전월의 소득이 부적으로 더 큰 영향력을 갖는 것으로 나타나 하위집단의 소득 불안정이 생활만족도에 영향을 주고 있음을 시사하였다.

A Meta-regression Analysis of the Variables Associated with the Job Satisfaction of Kindergarten Teachers (유치원교사의 직무만족과 관련된 변인에 대한 메타회귀분석)

  • This study seeks to verify the effect size of the variables relating to job satisfaction through a meta-analysis focusing on previous papers over the last 20 years that have examined the job satisfaction of kindergarten teachers and verified the trend by publication year through a meta-regression analysis. The study results are as follows. First, the results demonstrated that the total effect size of the variables relating to kindergarten teachers was large. Second, the organization's internal variable and organization's external variable groups, except for the individual characteristics variable group, showed a large effect size at similar levels. Third, the status of teachers in the individual characteristics variable group showed a meaningfully large effect size and the interpersonal relationship variable in organization's internal variable group showed a relatively larger effect size than the organizational climate variable did. Finally, the results of the verification of the trend by publication year showed that job satisfaction increased for all variables, except for the individual characteristics variable in more recent publications. This study highlights the imperative of making every effort to improve the organization's internal and external environment. In particular, measures to reduce job stress and work load are required. Furthermore, the atmosphere that is devoted to the teaching profession and teacher efficacy is important.

Identification of Variables as the Effects of Integrated Education Using the Delphi Method (통합교육의 효과변인 추출을 위한 델파이 연구)

  • In this study, the Delphi Method was conducted to extract variables as effects of integrated education. Forty-six experts engaged in both the integrated education and research fields participated in this study. The Delphi survey was conducted for three rounds. In the first round, an open questionnaire was given asking variables possibly considered as effects of integrated education. In the second round, variables induced from analysis of the first survey results were given and the degree of agreement for each variable was determined according to the Likert scale. In the third round of the survey, mean, standard deviation, and the first and third quartile calculated using the results of the second survey were given to experts to determine their degree of assent. In addition, categories for variables were suggested. The degree of agreement for appropriateness of categorization and relative importance were determined As a result, a total of 18 variables were chosen except for career awareness. They were categorized according to their definition and properties into five categories: 'creativity' (flexible thinking, associative thinking, intuitive thinking, creative thinking), 'problem solving' (meta-cognition, problem recognition and solving, critical thinking, decision making ability, ability of knowledge application, knowledge and information processing skills), 'integrative perception and sensitivity' (concern and interest in various disciplines, understanding and acceptance of difference, integrative thinking), 'interpersonal relations' (communication skills, cooperation), and 'disciplinary literacy' (humanistic imagination, basic knowledge and literacy of each discipline, academic motivation). The degree of agreement was high in variables included in 'creativity' and 'problem solving' categories and the frequency of choosing the importance was high in variables included in 'integrative perception and sensitivity'. The educational implication related to implementation and practice of integrated education were discussed on the basis of results.
