Analysis of Perception Difference between Domestic and International Engineering Firms -Focusing on the Competitiveness of International PMC Market- (해외 PMC 시장 경쟁력에 대한 국내외의 인식차이 분석 - 한국 엔지니어링 기업을 중심으로 -)

  • In recent years, Project Management Consultant(PMC) project has been emerging as a high-value-added engineering project. However, domestic engineering firms have difficulties in entering the overseas PMC market because of poor project performance and lack of PMC capabilities. To overcome these limitations, this study analyzes the key competitiveness factors for successfully performing the global PMC projects. PMC competency factors based on Porter's double diamond theory were extracted, and a questionnaire survey was conducted on domestic and overseas engineering firms. In addition, the important PMC competency factors were derived through paired t-test and IPA matrix analysis. As a result, the PMC competitiveness of domestic engineering firms was analyzed as around 60% compared to that of global engineering firms. Furthermore, 'PMC track records' and 'project management/owner response skills' were identified as top priority competency factors which are the most necessary factors for present domestic engineering firms. This study is expected to support to establish the international PMC market entry strategies by providing priorities of key competitiveness factors.

  • Recently, as construction projects are getting bigger and more complex, the number of participants has been tremendously increased. According to the current trend, the necessity of collaboration design management controlling communication and information exchange among many participants has came up. So this study considers the roles and tasks of each participant and informations that occur in each design stage, and looks into the present status of collaboration in design management of domestic design companies. Finally, the function of collaboration system is drove. It supports tasks of design participants, such as input design outcome, decision making among concerned people and solution of design change and interference.

Policy Evaluation and Improvement Plan of Overseas Construction Engineering Industry (해외 건설엔지니어링산업의 정책평가 및 개선방안)

  • Due to the downturn in the local construction business, entry into the overseas markets has been regarded as one of the core tasks of the building sector and the government. Thus, entry into overseas markets, not only by large and middle-standing enterprises, but also by small and medium sized enterprises, has recently become a major construction policy. Therefore, this study identified and evaluated overseas construction support policies in the field of construction engineering, ranked them as the policies for developing market development funds, fostering and educating expert workers, and supporting the provision of information on winning orders. Through these policy assessment results, the study proposed improvement measures from the government and from the business side. As for the government viewpoint, a measure of providing information suited to engineers in design companies, project manager (PM), construction manager (CM), a measure of producing skillful workers through the expansion of education support policies, and the promotion of specialized overseas workforce in the construction engineering sector were proposed. In the construction engineering industry, this study suggested measures for securing global expert manpower, sharing performance of overseas construction market development project, strengthening construction project management capacity, and strengthening risk management.

  • The construction engineering field is less than $3\~5$ of the gross construction cost, but engineering's role is very important because the performance of final facility is decided in the engineering stage. Nevertheless, before now government and private companies are more concentrated on construction works than making strategy to strengthen the competitiveness and technical development of investment in construction engineering sectors. Search research was obtained through business trip & consultation with related specialists for the difficulties of domestic companies in advancing into overseas market. Moreover this research have analyzed the technical improvement of construction engineering companies and reason for competitiveness weaken by various aspects, It provides governmental and private plans to advance into overseas market. Especially, to strengthen domestic companies into advancing overseas market, it has suggested that tax & subsidy privileges, supporting plans for obtaining information of overseas and strategic cooperation with other organizations.

An Analysis on Determinants of the Amount of Orders Received in Construction Technology Engineering Industry Sector (건설기술부문 엔지니어링업체의 수주액 결정요인 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to present an empirical analysis of determinants of the amount of orders received in construction technology engineering industry sector. Regression model was applied for 5 years from 2010 to 2014 to find out how the factors affecting the amount of orders received each year are different and what trends are observed. Although common significant variables were identified that there is a difference in the impact on their orders received. Specifically, the increase in the number of orders received while reducing the impact on orders received from 2010 to 2013, 2014 showed a slight tendency to increase. And increase in the number of employees shows that the influence of order received is higher in 2014 than in 2010. In addition, the gap between the metropolitan area and the non-metropolitan area has doubled in 2014 compared to 2010, but it is also confirmed that the metropolitan area is still strong. On the other hand, in the case of licensed technology, the only statistically significant variable was the negative correlation between the amount of orders received. Although the influence declined in 2014 compared to 2011, it still had a large impact on the amount of orders received.

  • 인쇄사들은 인쇄잉크의 건조시간을 줄이기 위해 전분 성분의 가루를 뿌리며 인쇄용지를 건조시킨다. 이 가루가 뿌려지고 건조되는 과정에서 인쇄 현장에는 많은 분진이 자연적으로 발생하게 된다. 이 분진은 작업장의 공기를 탁하게 만들어 근무환경을 나쁘게 만들 뿐 아니라 주변 환경에도 좋지 않은 영향을 준다. 이에 집진기를 설치, 인쇄과정에서 발생하는 분진을 처리하는 인쇄사들이 차츰 늘어가고 있다.
