Research of Oyster Shell Recycled Coating Material and its Application to Filter Bed (굴껍질을 재활용한 코팅제의 여과지 코팅 성능평가에 관한 연구)

  • 현재 남해안 굴양식산업은 어업인들의 중요한 소득원이 되고 있으나, 굴양식장에서 발생되는 굴패각은 처리곤란 및 악취발생으로 인해 또 다른 해양오염원으로 그 문제성이 심각하게 대두되고 있는 실정이다. 굴양식장에서 연간 약 28~30만여톤의 굴패각이 발생되고 있으며, 그 중 10~20%는 종패부착용이나 비료로 재활용되고 있고, 80~90%는 매립되거나 야적 방치된다고 보고되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 굴패각을 재활용하고자 굴껍질의 성분분석을 실시하여 나노고분자세라믹 코팅제의 세라믹 소재로써의 적용 가능성여부를 확인하였고, 경기도 P정수장 내 여과지 콘크리트 벽면에 코팅처리하여 그 성능을 확인하였다. 그 결과 패각의 굴껍질은 90%이상이 탄산칼슘($CaCO_3$)로 이루어져 있었으며, 굴껍질을 재활용한 나노고분자세라믹 코팅제는 pH 7.5~8.5로서 일반수도를 측정한 pH 7.3~7.8과 유사한 결과를 보였다. 또한, 나노고분자세라믹 코팅제의 콘크리트 벽면에 대한 부착강도는 한국산업규격에 제시된 폴리머의 방수재료 부착강도인 8~10(kg.f/$cm^2$)이상의 값이 나타남에 따라 패각의 굴껍질을 재활용한 나노고분자세라믹 코팅제의 경기도 P정수장 내 여과지 콘크리트 벽면 코팅제로써 적용이 가능한 것으로 확인 되었다.

  • This paper illustrates some practical geographic information system (GIS) applications for aiding fishery managers and coastal area planners in analysing the likely control scheme of coastal farming areas, and in providing a flexible framework for decision making on fishery development and zoning issues. The effective management of marine farming operation is vitally important since it can greatly influence economic availability by determining capital outlay and by affecting running costs, rates of productions and mortality factors. GIS has been widely adopted elsewhere as a potent management tool in both the private and public sectors. GIS is now being extensively adopted in marine-associated activities. Here, we have used GeoMania v2.5 GIS software and its 3D Analyst extension module to visualize marine farming areas data that were collected around the Jinhae bay.

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the sector-specific greenhouse gas reduction implementation strategies priority using the multi-criteria analysis methods (AHP and Feedback ANP). Our analysis demonstrates that the highest priority among the evaluation criteria is given to the feasibility compared to the efficiency and the effectiveness in most of the sectors. In the public and the building sectors, it has been found that the governmental driving force is absolutely crucial in technological dissemination and diffusion. The results and the main findings are as follows. Firstly, the priority of the policy evaluation criteria has been changed by analysis methods. Secondly, the total weight and the priority of each sector's alternatives also have been changed. Finally, the priority of the alternatives for criteria has been changed by the analysis methods.

  • Reliability of electric power supply by power system becomes major issue as the electric power industry is recently being regulated. Also a change of environmental condition related to power supply reliability should be considered in the view of power supplier since the competition between energy-industries is strengthen. In other words, because customers may choose other energy source instead of electric power due to an expensive energy charge, enhancing recklessly the reliability of power supply might not be an essential strategy. So to effectively cope with this problem, it is necessary to perceive the reaction of customers against power supply reliability and interruption cost. This paper evaluates the annual interruption costs of customers by regional groups in Korea using a macro approach to cope with these internal and external environment. That is, the each ratio of customer's interruption costs to price of electric power charge is evaluated for public, service, agricultural, fishery, mining, manufactural, and residential consumption by every cities and provinces.

  • As an early warning system to reduce the damage of aquacultured mollusks due to low salinity water, we investigated the possibility of a biomonitoring system measuring the shell valve movement (SVM) of Pacific oyster (Crassostrea gigas) by using the Hall element sensor. In high salinity water of 27 psu, SVMs of Pacific oyster showed spikes which mean a relatively fast closing condition after opened condition of average 10-15 mm, and then the SVM showed back to opening condition slower than closing speed. In water salinity of 20-27 psu, the SVMs were similar to that of 27 psu. However, below 17 psu, it showed abnormal valve movements such as spending more time for shell closure. In 10 psu, we could not detected SVMs due to closed condition during experiment periods. Thus, if we quickly detect abnormal environmental variations like low salinity using bio-monitoring of SVM, it may be contribute to increased productivity by dramatically reducing damages in aquaculture.

  • Deep-sea fishery in the Antarctic Ocean has been actively progressed by the developed countries including Korea. In order to prevent the environmental destruction of the Antarctic Ocean, related countries have established the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) and have monitored any illegal unreported or unregulated fishing. Fishing of tooth fish, an expensive fish, in the Antarctic Ocean has increased recently and high catches per unit effort (CPUE) of fishing boats, which is suspicious for an illegal activity, have been frequently reported. The data of CPUEs in a fishing area of the Antarctic Ocean often show an extreme Distribution or a mixture of two extreme distributions. This paper proposes an algorithm to detect an outlier of CPUEs by using the mixture of two extreme distributions. The parameters of the mixture distribution are estimated by the EM algorithm. Log likelihood value and posterior probabilities are used to detect an outlier. Experiments show that the proposed algorithm to detect outlier of the data can be adopted instead of simple criteria such as a CPUE is greater than 1.

  • We need measures that can come up with alternative about fishery living zone and enhance local acceptance for responding to the increase in the proportion of renewable energy production and construction of 12GW Offshore wind power according to Korea's Renewable Energy 3020 initiative and Korean-version New Deal. In this study, We suggest that differentiation plans of co-location model in connection with offshore wind power generation suitable for the East Sea. The East Sea is an optimal site for building of a floating offshore wind power generation(FOWPG) field. It is expected that economic effects like energy production, aquatic resource development and tourism industrialization by farming bluefin tuna which is high valued fish and suitable for offshore aquaculture on public waters in FOWPG field. And we can confirm that budget reduction, smart management by sharing operation management technology and increase in fishermen income.

  • In order to prevent illegal fishing and reduce lost fishing gear, it is necessary to develop a constant and continuous fishing gear monitoring system in the marine environment. In this paper, we design a long-term operational, reliable system model with communication coverage of more than 25Km considering the reality of gradually expanding fishing activity due to the depletion of fishery resources and marine environments. The design results are implemented to verify the operability of the system by separating the communication success rate of SKT and private LoRa networks and verifying the control function of each control system through the collected location information, respectively.

Characteristics of Industrial Growth in the Peripheral Areas Based on Low-density Economics (저밀도 경제 논의와 주변부 지역 산업 성장의 특성)

  • According to the discussion on the low-density economy in OECD industrial growth in remote area has played a central role in the members'economic recovery from the financial crisis in the mid-2000s. Based on the OECD's low-density economy this study examines the phenomena and spatial characteristics of industrial growth in peripheral areas of Korea. The growth of industries in the peripheral areas shows a similar growth characteristics as cases in the OECD members. Various manufacturing and service sectors as well as traditional sectors such as agriculture, forestry and fishing have grown in the peripheral areas since the mid-2000s. Firms in the peripheral areas form various cooperative networks to overcome the unfavorable regional conditions. The growth of new industries shows the possibility of path-dependent development in the periphery. Based on the results, implications on the policies for supporting the diversification of regional industries, setting flexible regional boundaries for policies, and linking policy sectors are derived.

  • Sesan강과 Srepok강은 베트남, 캄보디아, 라오스가 공유하는 3S강 유역 (Sesan강, Srepok강, Sekong강)의 일부로 연구 및 관리된다. 3S강 유역은 Mekong강의 중요한 지류이며 Mekong강 유역의 상당 부분을 구성한다(Mekong강 유역 면적의 10%, 연간 총 유출량의 20%). 베트남 측 Sesan강 유역의 면적은 11,255km2이고 Srepok강 유역 면적은 18,162km2이다. Sesan강과 Srepok 강의 상류는 베트남 중부 고원의 긴 산맥에 위치하고 있다. Sesan강과 Srepok강 유역은 기후변화에 따른 홍수, 가뭄, 어업 지속 가능성 감소, 퇴적 등 많은 문제와 도전에 직면 할 것으로 예측되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 World Bank의 "Viet Nam Mekong Integrated Water Resources Management (M-IWRM) Project의 일환으로 베트남 정부 차원에서 처음으로 구축한 수자원관리 의사결정지원 시스템인 "DSS-2S"를 활용하여, Sesan-Srepok강 유역의 강둑 침식 위험성을 분석하였다. DSS-2S는 MIKE Hydro Basin을 기반으로 SWAT모델, 수리모델, 하상변동 모델, 및 수질모델 등과 연계 하여 구축되었다. 2030 년을 목표 연도로 설정하고, 기후 변화 시나리오와 사회 경제적 발전을 기반으로 DSS-2S에 포함되어 있는 유사 이송 및 수리학적 모델을 활용하여 주요 하천 단면에서의 평균 유속과 하상 침식 양을 예측하였다. 유속 및 심부 침식 기준에 근거하여 강둑 침식 위험성을 분석하였다. 모델의 시뮬레이션 결과를 기반으로 강둑 침식 위험이 있는 강 구간은 고(高)유속과 높은 침식의 조합에 의해 결정되었다. 고위험 침식 예상지는 Sesan강 유역의 Dak Bla, Po Ko, 및 Se San강에 총 길이 73.5km에 걸쳐 발생 할 것으로 분석되었으며, 침식 위험이 매우 높은 지역은 Dak Bla 강에 총 길이 2,286m, Po Ko 강에 총 길이 5,096m 정도가 발생 하는 것으로 분석되었다. 강둑 세국을 유발할 수 있는 다양한 인자들을 고찰하였으며, 본 성과는 베트남 중앙 정부의 장기수 자원 종합계획 수립의 기본 자료로 활용 될 예정이다.
