Cemented soils or concrete are usually cured under moisture conditions and their strength increases with curing time. An insufficient supply of water to cemented soils can contribute to hydration process during curing, which results in the variation of bonding strength of cemented soils. In this study, by the consideration of in situ water supply conditions, cemented sand with cement ratio less than 20% is prepared by air dry, wrapped, moisture, and underwater conditions. A series of unconfined compression tests are carried out to evaluate the effect of curing conditions on the strength of cemented soils. The strength of air dry curing specimen is higher than those of moisture and wrapped cured specimens when cement ratio is less than 10%, whereas it is lower when cement ratio is greater than 10%. Regardless of cement ratio, air dry cured specimens are stronger than underwater cured specimens. A strength increase ratio with cement ratio is calculated based on the strength of 4% cemented specimen. The strength increase ratio of air dry cured specimen is lowest and that of wrapped, moisture, and underwater cured ones increased by square. Strength of air dry cured specimen drops to maximum 30% after wetting when cement ratio is low. However, regardless of cement ratio, strength of moisture and wrapped specimens drops to an average 10% after wetting. The results of this study can predict the strength variation of cemented sand depending on water supply conditions and wetting in the field, which can guarantee the safety of geotechnical structures such as dam.

The curing method used on domestic sites for checking the concrete compressive strength of a structure. The curing method used for testing the specimens must be the standard ponding curing method (20${\pm}$%$2^{\circ}$C). However, because in-placed concrete is exposed to open air and cured under the seasonal temperature changes, the compressive strength of a real structure is different from the tested compressive strength. Therefore the curing method suggested in this research, which sets the internal conditions of the structural specimens as the conditions of the applied curing method. this thesis suggests the specimen curing method that most closely re-enacts the compressive strength of the concrete used on the structural specimens

The KS F 2403 method used on domestic sites for checking the compressive strength of a structure, sets the compressive strength of the concrete used in structural specimens as the compressive strength of testing specimens. Under this regulation, the curing method used for testing the specimens must be the standard ponding curing method (20$\pm$2$^{\circ}$C). However, because in-placed concrete is exposed to open air and cured under the seasonal temperature changes, the compressive strength of a real structure is different from the tested compressive strength. (Therefore,) This thesis first identifies the distinct characteristics of the strength development by applying the curing method listed under the KS and used for testing specimens on compressive strength tests; the atmospheric curing method, the sealed curing method, and the structural specimen core strength testing methods used for the in-sites quality checks including reckoning of the compressive strength of the structural specimens and form-demolding period; and the curing method suggested in this research, which sets the internal conditions of the structural specimens as the conditions of the applied curing method. Then, the thesis suggests the specimen curing method that most closely reenacts the compressive strength of the concrete used on the structural specimens

Construction concrete needs to maintain suitable environment which contains temperature and humidity etc. Then concrete shows own strength. The environment is not regular and contains many variables. Especially the climate element occupies many parts of variables. We have the climate environment which goes down to $-4^{\circ}C$. The factor that obstruct to construction is the failure at a construction progress. But it must be processed to be scheduled. Therefore we have to do the special care for factor of climate that obstruct to construction. We must make assurance doubly sure at the quality of concrete. We need maintenance of temperature and humidity for the hardening until the requirement period after a concrete pured in. We must do the care of curing sufficiently not to take the influence of injurious activity. This causes strength of concrete. Specific method of curing is according to each situation which is environment element. We wish to analyze curing course in construction of concrete at the paper. Also we wish to predict the problem as to consider curing and suggest the improvement plan through the paper.
For water barrier and reinforcing grout in soft ground, the verification of durability was conducted over the initial and long-term ages under various curing conditions. The grout was made of water glass system, fast-hardening mineral (FHM) system, and acrylic polymer system. There were three types of curing conditions that were tab water curing, artificial seawater curing, and atmospheric curing. And the various tests were performed for each sample by age, uniaxial compressive strength, length change, and weight change. As artificial seawater, MgCl2 and MgSO4 aqueous solutions were prepared and used, respectively. As the test results, the fast-hardening mineral system and acrylic polymer system were cured stably without significant change in durability in tap water and artificial sea water, whereas water glass system showed a very rapid drop in durability under artificial sea water conditions compared to tap water. In atmospheric curing conditions, durability is lowered compared to water curing in all cases, and in particular, the weight loss in the FHM system and water glass system is about 62% and 60%, respectively, resulting in a significant decrease in durability.

The corrosion of reinforcement is the main reason for the performance degradation of concrete structures. The pre-rusted parts of rebar in concrete structures are vulnerable to the corrosion, especially if the structure is exposed to wet or chlorinated environments. In this study, effects of different curing solution on corrosion behavior of the pre-rusted rebars in the cement composites were investigated. HCl(3%) and CaCl2(10%) solution were utilized to accelerate the pre-rust of the rebar, and each pre-rust condition rebar including reference (RE) were placed in mortar cylinder. Three kinds of samples then were cured in CaCl2 (3%) solution and tap water respectively for 120 days. Electrochemical polarization and half-cell potential measurement were used to monitor the influence of curing water on the corrosion behavior of pre-rusted steel bar in cement composite. The surface morphology and composition of corroded steel bar were analyzed by scanning electron microscope and energy dispersive X-ray diffraction. The results show that the corrosion rates of pre-rusted samples in both curing water are higher than that of non-pre-rusted samples. The corrosion rates of RE, CaCl2 and HCl pre-rusted samples in salt water were 8.14, 4.48, 13.81 times higher than those in tap water respectively, on the 120th day.
Concrete is much more easily damaged by various parameters than by the only one and performance reducing mechanism grows more complicated in that condition. In addition, the factors which really act in concrete structure tend to be activated in turn and the degradation of concrete is very rapidly progressed. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the properties of polymer cement mortars under combined cures. The polymer cement mortars are prepared with various polymer types, polymer-cement ratios and cement-fine aggregate ratio, and tested for compressive and flexural strengths, accelerated carbonation, chloride ion penetration and acid resistance test, and freezing-thawing test. The properties of polymer cement mortars under combined cures is discussed. From the test results, polymer cement mortars have superior strengths compared with plain cement mortar under combined cures. The strengths of polymer cement mortars are markedly increased at curing condition II and V, however strengths are not improved at curing condition I and IV irregardless of polymer types. The carbonation and chloride ion penetration depths of polymer cement mortars tend to decrease in curing conditions, III-C, IV-B, V-A order, and decrease with increasing polymer cement ratios. It is concluded that polymer cement ratio of 10 to 15% are considered optimum for the preparation of such polymer cement mortars.

In this study, mortar test specimens were produced by varying the mixing ratio of CO2 reaction hardening cement (CSC) and general cement (OPC), and the mechanical and carbonation characteristics were evaluated by controlling the primary curing temperature and secondary curing CO2 pressure. Under all curing conditions, it was observed that the higher the CSC ratio in the binder, the lower the mechanical properties. Specifically, a first curing temperature of 60 ℃ yielded higher mechanical properties compared to the case of 20 ℃, and a greater carbonation penetration depth was also observed. At a first curing temperature of 60 ℃, it was noted that the curing pressure and bending strength during the second CO2 curing were inversely proportional, while the compressive strength showed a proportional relationship. This phenomenon is believed to be due to excessive carbonation, which reduces mechanical properties, and the fact that flexural strength is more sensitive to these properties compared to compressive strength. However, based on the evaluation of the limited curing conditions, it is evident that future test conditions need to be expanded and reviewed more thoroughly.
To realize stable use of ground treated with cementitious materials, the curing process must be evaluated. In this study, a time domain reflectometry (TDR) measurement system was employed to evaluate the curing process of cementitious grout based on the electromagnetic property. A coated probe was manufactured to prevent electrical connection between the electrodes by the electrically conductive cementitious grout, and a calibration process was performed to estimate the actual relative permittivity using the coated probe. To assess the curing process of cementitious grout using the TDR measurement system, cementitious grout with added retarder was prepared with a water-to-cement ratio of 45%. A preliminary measurement was conducted immediately after pouring the cementitious grout into the mold to test the applicability of the coated probe, and TDR signals and relative permittivity were measured at 3~288 hours of curing time. The experimental results demonstrate that the relative permittivity of the cementitious grout immediately after pouring was greater than 100, decreased rapidly over time, and converged to approximately 13.8 at 144 hours, which is considered the fully cured time. This findings of this study demonstrate that the TDR measurement system with a coated probe is applicable to electrically conductive materials. In addition, the TDR measurement system can be used effectively to monitor the curing process of cementitious grout based on electromagnetic properties.

Efflorescence is a white deposit of powders in the surface of cement concrete which can also occur in geopolymers. Efflorescence occurs when sodium ions in alkali activator react with atmospheric carbon dioxide to form sodium carbonate components. In this study, we investigated whether the secondary efflorescence can be reduced by controlling the Na/Al mole ratio or by changing the curing temperature and heat curing time in fly ash-based geopolymers. The 28 days compressive strength in geopolymers having Na/Al ratio of 1.0 was higher than geopolymers having Na/Al ratio of 0.8. The strength increased with the increasing curing temperature and longer heat curing time. On the other hand, efflorescence was lower when the curing temperature was high and the heat curing time was longer in the geopolymers having Na/Al ratio of 1.0. The geopolymers having Na/Al ratio of 0.8 showed accelerated efflorescence occurrence than the geopolymers having Na/Al ratio of 1.0. In order to reduce the occurrence of the secondary efflorescence of fly ash-based geopolymers, it will be advantageous to maintain the Na/Al ratio at 1.0, increase the curing temperature, and lengthen the heating curing time.
