Concentration Distribution of Liquid/vapor Phases under In-Cylinder Flow Field with Different Injection Timings (엔진 유동장에서 분사시기에 따른 혼합기의 기ㆍ액상 농도 분포에 관한 연구)

  • The present study experimentally investigates the concentration distribution of liquid and vapor phase with different injection timings in the in-cylinder flow field of a optically accessible engine. The conventional MPI, DOHC engine was modified into DI gasoline engine. The images of liquid and vapor phases in the motoring engine were captured by using exciplex fluorescence method. Dopants used in this study were 2% fluorobenzene and 9% DEMA(diethyl-methyl-amino) in 89% solution of hexane by volume respectively. Two dimensional spray fluorescence images of liquid and vapor phases were acquired to analyze spray behaviors and fuel distribution in the in-cylinder flow field. Measurements were carried out fur four different injection timings, namely BTDC 270$^{\circ}$, 180$^{\circ}$, 90$^{\circ}$, and 50$^{\circ}$. Experimental results indicate that behaviors and distribution of vapor phase were largely affected by in-cylinder tumble flow, and mixture formation process was also greatly affected by in-cylinder flow at early injection mode and by ambient pressure at late injection mode.

Flame Propagation Characteristics in a Heavy Duty Liquid Phase LPG Injection SI Engine by Flame Visualization (대형 액상 LPG 분사식 SI 엔진에서 화염 가시화를 이용한 희박영역에서의 화염 전파특성 연구)

  • Combustion and flame propagation characteristics of the liquid phase LPG injection (LPLI) engine were investigated in a single cylinder optical engine. Lean bum operation is needed to reduce thermal stress of exhaust manifold and engine knock in a heavy duty LPG engine. An LPLI system has advantages on lean operation. Optimized engine design parameters such as swirl, injection timing and piston geometry can improve lean bum performance with LPLI system. In this study, the effects of piston geometry along with injection timing and swirl ratio on flame propagation characteristics were investigated. A series of bottom-view flame images were taken from direct visualization using an W intensified high-speed CCD camera. Concepts of flame area speed, In addition to flame propagation patterns and thermodynamic heat release analysis, was introduced to analyze the flame propagation characteristics. The results show the correlation between the flame propagation characteristics, which is related to engine performance of lean region, and engine design parameters such as swirl ratio, piston geometry and injection timing. Stronger swirl resulted in foster flame propagation under open valve injection. The flame speed was significantly affected by injection timing under open valve injection conditions; supposedly due to the charge stratification. Piston geometry affected flame propagation through squish effects.

  • 초음파를 이용하여 액체 연료를 분사하면 균일한 입경과 미립화가 우수하며 에너지 절약과 공해방지등을 할 수 있다. 또한 유속과 유량에 관계없이 이용할 수 있어 반도체 분야의 웨이퍼와 평판 표시기상에 사진 석판용 화학물질의 균일도포 컴퓨터 하드 디스크의 광택제 도포등에 사용할 수 있다. 이처럼 초저의 유출 용량을 요구하는 모든 공정 및 액체연료의 분사가 요구되는 모든 산업에 적용할 수 있는 장점을 가지고 있다. 하지만 현제까지 주로 사용되고 있는 초음파노즐의 액츄에이터는 단판액츄에이터형로 높은 교류전압을 인가해주어야 하는 단점을 가지고 있다. 이 단점을 해결하기 위해 적층액츄에이터형을 사용하여 초음파 노즐 구동하면 낮은 교류 입력전압에서도 단판액츄에이터형 초음파 노즐과 같은 특성을 가질 수 있다. 또한 초음파 노즐의 구동시 기계적인 진동을 이용하므로 많은 열을 발생시켜 노즐의 온도가 상승하여 세라믹 액츄에이터에도 그 영향을 미치게 되어 열적 열화 현상이 일어날 수 있기에 높은 큐리온도를 가지는 액츄에이터가 필요하다. 본 실험에서는 $Pb(Mn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})_{0.02}(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})_{0.12}(Zr_{0.50}Ti_{0.50})_{0.86}O_3$ 조성을 사용하여 $900^{\circ}C$의 저온에서 액상 소결하여 적층혈액츄에이터를 제작하였으며 압전 및 유전 특성을 조사하였다. 제작된 초음파노즐을 구동하기 위해서는 약 36kHz의 30V이상의 교류입력전압 할 수 있는 구동회로가 필요로 한다. 압전액츄에이터의 구동을 위해서는 정확한 정현파 입력이 필요 없다. 압전액츄에이터의 특성상 유사 정현파 입력 만으로도 임피던스 매칭이 이루어지기 때문에 설계가 쉽고 간편한 Push-Pull 방식을 이용한 PWM인버터를 사용하였고 인버터의 출력 주파수를 34~38kHz까지 가변 할 수 있게 설계하였다. 제작된 적층액츄에이터형 초음파 노즐을 PWM인버터로 실제 액체 연료인 경유를 분사하였을 때의 액츄에이터의 온도 변화에 따른 공진주파수와 온도 의존성, 전기적 특성을 조사하고 미립화 분사되는 경유의 미립자 크기 및 최대 분사량을 조사 하였다.

  • This study reviewed the liquefaction reinforcement and ground reinforcement methods widely used domestically and abroad through construction method characteristics and analyzed the economic feasibility and reinforcement efficiency of each reinforcement method. The analysis results were used to evaluate the applicability of the appropriate reinforcement method for the liquefaction reinforcement of new and existing structures. As a result of evaluating the applicability of the reinforcement method based on the economic feasibility and reinforcement effect of each reinforcement method, the compaction method, which secures the construct ability by applying large equipment, is advantageous when reinforcing a new structure, and the low-fluidity mortar injection method (C.G.S method) and the high-pressure injection method (J.S.P method) are considered appropriate in the existing structure.

Study for Failure Examples of Injector, Idle Speed Actuator and Gasket in LPi System Vehicle (LPi 시스템 자동차의 인젝터, 공회전 액추에이터 및 개스킷 고장사례 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper studies the failure cases including with system of liquefied phase injection in liquified petroleum gas vehicle. The first case, resulting with inspection the injector of LPG, it occasionally certified the injection damage phenomenon that the fuel efficiency(km/l) was decreased to 5% by carbon deposit with injector hole when the driver operates the vehicle. The second case, it certified the interference phenomenon of air flow with carbon deposit in ISA system control for idle speed of engine and throttle body suppling air into engine. As a result, the fuel efficiency was decreased 7%. The third case, the outer air during intake stroke was intermittently flowed in this gasket gap because of weaken adhesion power phenomenon for cylinder block by intake manifold gasket tearing. Consequentially, it certified the decrease for fuel efficiency to 3% by risen the amount of fuel injection as the air inflow quantity. These failure examples reduced the power performance of engine and the fuel efficiency of vehicle. It have to minimize of failure phenomenon preparing through quality management.

탄소나노튜브의 스프레이 분사법을 이용한 투명전도성 플렉서블 필름 제작

  • 최근, 차세대 디스플레이, 터치스크린, 전자파 차폐 및 흡수 등의 분야에 응용하기 위해서 현재 주로 사용되고 있는 ITO박막을 대체하기 위한 연구가 활발하게 진행 되고 있다. ITO 박막은 희소원소인 인듐에서 기인하는 높은 비용뿐만 아니라 매장량도 한계가 있어 대체 재료의 개발이 시급하게 요구되고 있다. 더구나, 다양한 차세대 응용에 있어서는 투명전도성 뿐만 아니라 휠 수 있는 유연성까지 요구되어 ITO박막을 대체할 새로운 투명전도성 유연 박막의 개발에 관한 연구들이 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 탄소나노튜브(CNT)는 금속을 능가하는 이론적인 전기전도도를 갖고 있으며, 높은 탄성등의 우수한 기계적 성질을 갖고 있어, 전도성 확보 및 유연성 구현이라는 투명전도성 플렉서블 박막소재에 요구되는 사항들을 충족시킬 뿐만 아니라, 최근의 대량 합성법등의 개발로 저가에 공급할 수 있다는 장점들이 있어 ITO대체 재료로서 주목을 받고 있다. 그러나, CNT는 튜브 사이에 강한 반데르발스 인력을 가지고 있어 용매 중에 분산하는데 많은 어려움이 있으며, 액상 분산과정을 통한 CNT기반의 플렉서블 박막 제작에 있어서 큰 과제로 남아있다. 본 연구에서는 플라즈마 기능화 처리를 통하여 CNT에 친수성을 부여하였고, 초음파 처리를 통하여 에탄올 중에 CNT를 균일하게 분산한 후, 스프레이 분사법을 이용해 투명 유연기판인 PET고분자 필름위에 균일 박막을 제작하였다. CNT는 아세틸렌 가스를 이용한 열화학증기증착법으로 1mm 이상의 길이를 갖는 수직배향 CNT를 합성하였으며, 이를 아르곤 및 암모니아 플라즈마로 기능화 처리를 실시하였다. 플라즈마 처리를 통해 기능화 된 탄소나노튜브는 플라즈마 처리되지 않은 탄소나노튜브와 분산 속도에서 현저한 차이를 보였다. 제작한 CNT 기반의 투명전도성 유연박막들은 막두께에 따른 전도도 및 투광도의 관계를 조사하였고, 기판에 분사된 CNT 박막의 표면 특성은 AFM, Raman, 접촉각 실험 등을 통하여 분석하였다.

  • Conventional LPG pump for Liquified Petroleum injection(LPi) engine has been adopted vane type. But the BLDC type fuel pump for LPi system has complicated structure and its price is high. Therefore, as a alternative, this study has mainly focused on the development of turbine type LPG pump which has lower cost and simple structure than conventional BLDC type. To verify the possibility of substitute the performance tests were performed for each fuel pump. The comparative items were pressure settling time, variation of fuel outlet temperature and engine performance of hot restart ability. As a result, performances of turbine type LPG pump were equivalent or high comparing to the BLDC type all over the tests for different fuel composition.

  • Liquid phase mixing of impinging injector is a resultant byproduct from the momentum exchange between a pair of impinging jets and penetration of opponent jet. Principal aim of the present study is revealing the liquid phase mixing mechanism of split triplet impinging injection sprays, and thus extending our understanding on this particular injection element. Overall mixing extent is estimated from patternation tests by the use of purified tap water and kerosene to simulate the real propellant components, respectively, and with the liquid jet momentum ratio, a controlling mixing parameter, in the range of 0.5 to 6.0. Emphasis is placed on the effect of liquid sheet superposition and disintegration, and the results with detailed spray visualization revealed the fact that superposed liquid sheet disintegration is the main pathway of liquid phase mixing of split triplet impinging injector to yield enhanced mixing qualities.

  • The one of the most important subject to develop a LPDi engine is to suppress the generation of bubble inside LPG direct injector. For the purpose of this, in this study, the analogy visualization injector to visualize the generation and behavior of bubble, is manufactured and the bubbling phenomenon and behaviors are visualized and studied. The bubble inside the injector is generated at injection hole and after rising by buoyancy, it disappear around the top of a nozzle. The number of bubble generated is little changed regardless of the lapse of time but it is increased remarkably as the temperature around the injector is increased. With injection, the temperature around the injector at which the bubble is generated in_cylinder is much lower than that without injection because the transient pressure drop of fuel by injection.

Characteristics of Spray Development from Vapor/Liquid Phase Distribution for GDI Spray (GDI 분무의 기.액상 분포를 통한 분무의 성장 특성)

  • The purpose of this research is to obtain the information of the development process of a vaporizing GDI spray using exciplex fluorecence method. Fluorobenzene/DEMA system was used as the exciplex-forming dopants. The 2-D spray images of liquid and vapor phases were acquired, and the behavior of both phases was analyzed by the image processing. The experiment was performed at the three different ambient perssures and the ambient temperature of 273K and 473K. As the result of this work, it was found that the development characteristics of GDI spray have stronger effect on the ambient pressure than on the ambient temperature. With an increase of ambient pressure, the distribution of vapor phase was decreased and the concentration of that was denser. Two regions, namely cone and mixing regions could be identified from those resulrs.
