Numerical Study on the Process of Supersonic Flow Formation in a Direct-Connect Supersonic Combustor (Direct-Connect 초음속 연소기 내 초음속 유동 형성과정에 대한 수치해석)

  • In this study, a numerical analysis was performed to confirm the formation of supersonic flow and the stabilization time satisfying the design condition in a Direct-connect supersonic combustor. The process was examined in which the high-pressure gas of vitiation air heater propagates downstream to the supersonic combustor and forms a supersonic flow field. It was confirmed through the analysis of pressure and temperature that the supersonic flow field satisfies the design points of Mach number 2.0 and 1,000 K, and requires a minimum of 4.0 ms for stabilization. These results indicate that the time required for the supersonic flow field stabilization should be taken into account when testing for the supersonic combustion experiment.

Metamorphism and Deformation of the Late Paleozoic Pyeongan Supergroup in the Taebaeksan Basin: Reviews on the Permo-Triassic Songrim Orogeny (태백산분지에 분포하는 후기 고생대 평안누층군의 변성-변형작용: 페름-삼첩기 송림 조산운동의 고찰)

  • The Permo-Triassic Songrim orogeny in the Korean peninsula was a major tectonic event involving complicated continental collisions at the eastern margin of Eurasia. Based on the previous studies on the metamorphic and deformations features of the Songrim orogeny, this paper presents metamorphic and structural characteristics and timing of the Songrim orogeny in the Taebaeksan basin, and discuss about correlation of the tectono-metamorphic evolution of the Taebaeksan basin with the Okcheon basin and the Imjingang belt with a combined analysis of bulk crustal shortening direction, metamorphic P-T and T-t (time) paths. The metapelites in the Pyeongan Supergroup in the northeastern margin of the Taebaeksan basin have experienced lower-temperature/medium-pressure (LT/MP) regional metamorphism followed by high-temperature contact metamorphism due to the Jurassic granite intrusion. The earlier LT/MP regional metamorphism produced two loops of clockwise P-T-d (deformation) paths combined with four deformation events ($D_1-D_4$). The first loop concomitant with $D_1$ and $D_2$ occurred at $400-500^{\circ}C$, 1.5-3.0 kbar, and related with growth of syn-$D_1$ chloritoid and andalusite, post-$D_1$ margarite, Ca-rich syn-$D_2$ or post-$D_2$ plagioclase. The second loop accompanying $D_3$ and $D_4$ occurred at $520-580^{\circ}C$, 2.0-6.0 kbar, and associated with the growth of syn-$D_3$ garnet and staurolite, and syn-$D_4$ and/or post-$D_4$ andalusite porphyroblasts. Furthermore the syn-$D_1$ chloritoid and andalusite porphyroblasts grew during E-W bulk crustal shortening, whereas the syn-$D_3$ garnet and staurolite, and the syn-$D_4$ and/or post-$D_4$ andalusite porphyroblasts have grown under N-S bulk crustal shortening. The similarity in the characteristics and timing of the metamorphism and bulk crustal shortening directions between the Okcheon and Imjingang belts suggest that the peak metamorphic conditions tend to increase toward the western part (Imjingang belt and southwestern part of the Gyeonggi Massif) from the eastern part (Taebaeksan basin). The E-W bulk crustal shortening influenced the eastern part of the Okcheon belt, whereas the N-S bulk crustal shortening resulted in strong deformation in the Imjingang and Okcheon belts. Consequently, the Permo-Triassic Songrim orogeny in the Korean peninsula is probably not only related to collision of the North and South China blocks, but also to the amalgamation of terrane fragments at the eastern Eurasia margin (e.g., collision of the Sino-Korean continent and the Hida-Oki terrane).

  • 구동형 부품(Actuated component)중의 하나인 LeadScrew는 이송장치를 구성하는 핵심 부품으로 소재로는 탄소강, 합금강, 스테인레스강 등이 주로 이용된다. 다양한 IT기기의 정밀 이송 및 고속 구동에 사용되며, 제품의 성능을 결정하는 중요 핵심 부품으로 사용되고 있다. IT기기용 구동 요소 부품은 정밀 가공성의 제약으로 내식성이 우수한 스테인레스강 소재보다는 일반적으로 소재비가 저렴하고 가공성이 우수한 탄소강 소재를 사용하게 되며, 위 소재를 사용하면 대기중의 수분등에 의한 부식환경에서 쉽게 부식되어 부식방지를 위한 표면처리 기술개발이 필요하다.또한, 구동형 부품은 부품 상호간의 심한 마찰 등과 같은 가혹한 조건에 노출되어, 부품의 내마모성 및 표면 경도등을 향상시켜 부품의 수명을 연장하고자 한다. 그러기 위해 선 표면경도, 내마모성, 내식성 등의 다양한 기능이 요구되며, 성능을 만족시키기 위해서 열표면처리 공정을 확인하고자 한다.본 연구에서는 냉간압조용 강선인 SWCH계열 표면에 PECVD 장치로 플라즈마 질화공정을 이용하여 동일조건(압력, Gas flow, Power)하에서 $500{\sim}550^{\circ}C$의 온도 범위 내에서 30~300 min의 시간 조건으로 실험을 진행하였다. 위 시험편으로 XRD를 통해 각 플라즈마 질화 공정 조건에 따른 상 변화를 확인하였고, 염수분무테스트를 통해 내식성을 확인하였다. 표면경도 및 단면경도를 통한 실용질화층을 확인하고, 마모테스트를 통하여 마찰계수를 확인하여 표면경도, 내마모성, 내식성을 충족하는 공정에 대한 실험을 진행하였다.

Ultrafiltration and Separation Process Optimization of Hen Egg White Lysozyme as Natural Antimicrobial Enzyme (천연 항균 효소제 난백 lysozyme의 한외여과 조건 최적화)

  • Hen egg white lysozyme (HEWL) is very valuable as a natural preservative in food processing due to its selective bactericidal activity. HEWL which traditionally isolated by crystallization or freeze drying was simply separated from 13 different hen egg white (HEW) proteins by a single-step ultrafiltration. Freeze dried HEW (0.25%, w/v) dissolved in a citrate-phosphate buffer (pH 4.6) was ultrafiltered with a PM30 membrane under various operating conditions, by changing concentration, temperature, transmembrane pressure $({\triangle}P_T)$, and stirring speed. Optimum separation conditions were decided when maximal flux was obtained. Under the optimum separation conditions, the effect of membrane material and fouling on flux as time passed as well as lysozyme concentration, protein concentration, specific activity (SA) in the permeate were measured. Best separation conditions of HEWL with PM30 membrane were sample concentration 0.25%, temperature $35^{\circ}C$, ${\Delta}P_T\;30\;psi$, and stirring speed 300 rpm. During the first 12 min, the flux of YM30 was higher, but at the steady-state it was lower than that of PM30. The SA of the PM30 permeate was over 2 times higher in spite of the lysozyme and protein concentration being lower than that of YM30 permeate. The flux of 5 times used PM30 decreased 30% compared to a new PM30, but both had the same tendency in flux decrease when time passed. Both of them reached a steady-state after 35 min and remained at 70% of the initial flux. In the PM30 permeate, the lysozyme concentration and SA were 110 units/mL and 2,821 units/mg protein, respectively. Therefore, PM30 membrane separation was very effective for separation of antimicrobial lysozyme.

  • 액화천연가스(LNG : Liquified Natural Gas)는 연료로 사용하기 위하여 기화하는 과정을 거치게 되는데 기화하는 방식에는 해수에 의한 기화와 공기에 의한 기화의 두 가지 방식으로 나뉘게 된다. 해수에 의한 기화는 LNG 인수기지에서 대량의 LNG를 NG로 기화하기 위하여 사용하며, 공기에 의한 기화는 LNG 위성기지에서 사용처에 적합한 온도를 얻기 위해서 일반적으로 많이 사용하고 있는 공기식 기화기를 이용하여 기화를 하는 방식을 취하고 있다. LNG가 NG로 기화하는 과정에서 1kg당 200kcal의 냉열을 외부로 방출하고 있으며, 이러한 냉열의 방출로 인하여 공기식 기화기의 표면에 결빙현상을 발생시킨다. 또한 현재 사용하고 있는 기화기는 $2{\sim}3$개의 기화기를 연결하여 사용하고 있어 그 비용의 손실이 크다고 할 수 있다. 그리하여 본 연구는 최근 사용빈도가 증가하고 있는 공기식 기화기에 관한 것으로 작동유체는 실제 LNG와 특성이 비슷한 초저온 액화가스인 $LN_2$를 사용하였다. 이번 연구에 사용된 변수는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 각각의 기화기의 길이를 4000mm, 6000mm, 8000mm으로 하였고 핀의 type을 finless, 4fin, 8fin으로 하여 적용하였다. 두 번째는 봄, 여름, 가을, 겨울철에 따른 기화기의 성능을 알고자 각각의 계절별 온도와 습도를 적용하였다. 마지막으로 계절별 풍속과 실험을 하는 시간 동안의 유량을 알고자 압력을 1 bar로 적용하였다. 그리하여 이번 연구의 목적으로는 각각의 변수를 통하여 실험을 진행 한 후 vaporizer type과 길이에 대한 최적의 성능을 가지는 기화기에 대한 자료를 제시하고자 한다.기성분은 균주에 따른 약간의 차이가 있었으나 경향은 비슷하게 나타났다. 이상의 결과 알코올 발효 균주에 따른 참다래 와인의 이화학적 품질특성에는 큰 차이가 없었으나 고급알코올함량을 비교하였을 때 Sacch. cerevisiae Wine 3이 와인제조에 가장 적합한 것으로 평가되었다.장 낮은 값을 나타내었으며, 홍국의 함유량이 증가할수록 유의적으로 증가하였다. b값은 CSB가 가장 낮은 값을 나타내었으며, 홍국의 함유량이 증가할수록 유의적으로 증가하였다. 물성측정 결과 경도와 응집성은 각 시료들 간의 유의적인 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 탄력성과 부서짐성은 CSB가 가장 낮았으며, 홍국의 함유량이 증가할수록 증가하였다. 점착성은 SDB1이 가장 낮았으며, 홍국의 함유량이 증가할수록 증가하였다. 관능검사 결과 기공의 균일성은 SDB1이 가장 균일한 것으로 나타났으며, 색은 홍국의 함유량이 증가할수록 높게 나타났다. 경도, 탄력성, 단맛 및 신맛 등은 홍국 함유량이 증가할수록 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 이취는 SDB1이 가장 적게 나는 것으로 나타났으며, 전반적인 기호도는 SDB1이 가장 높았다. 따라서 홍국을 10% 첨가한 sourdough starter를 3일 동안 발효한 후 반죽에 첨가하여 sourdough bread를 제조할 때 품질이 가장 우수한 제품을 얻을 수 있었다.생수와 여러 물질의 혼합용액의 온도가 장에 끼치는 자극에 차이가 있지 않나 추측되며 이에 관한 추후 연구가 요망된다. 총대장통과시간의 단축은 결장 분절 모두에서 줄어들어 나타났으나 좌측결장 통과시간의 감소 및 이로 인한 이 부위의 통과시간 비율의 저하가 가장 주요하였다. 이러한 결과는 차가운 생수 섭취가 주로 결장 근위부를 자극하는 효과를 발휘하는 것이 아닌가

  • Conventional marine heat exchangers have a monotonous flow path of marine engine fuel, so the contact time of the heating medium with the heat exchange tube is very short, resulting in low heating efficiency. Since it is made in a tubular shape, it is made in a very large volume regardless of the heating efficiency, so it is necessary to secure the installation space of the heating device, as well as it is difficult to install or remove it. Since the plate heat exchanger for ships to be developed in this study directly heats the marine fuel, the temperature detection sensor of the electric heater block was configured to prevent excessive temperature rise. If the detected temperature is higher than the set temperature value, a power cut-off system is configured to cut off the authorized power to the heater block. In addition, 10 tons of marine engine fuel can be heated per hour through the heater of the plate heat exchanger, and the maximum temperature can be set to 150℃. Changes of Physical Characteristics of Cooked Rice by Pressure Cooking (가압취반시(加壓炊飯時) 미반(米飯)의 물성변화(物性變化)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • This study was carried out in order to provide the basic data necessary to develop the effective and desirable cooking method on large scale for investigating the physical characteristics of cooked rices and studying optimum cooking conditions by pressure in kettle cooking rices. Milyang-15, local Japonica type and Milyang-23, high yielding Indica type major varieties cultivated in Korea were used as cooking sample after polishing 70% and 90% respectively, and the results obtained are summarized as follows. 1. The average moisture content of cooked rice by open kettle and pressure kettle method in typical households were 65.17% and 64.52%, respectively. 2. In water absorption capacity of rice grain Milyang-23 was 4.5% higher than Milyang-15, and maximum water content after absorption in Milyang-23 was 29.14%. 3. The expansion volume of cooked rice was changed proportionally by water absorption, heating temperature and time, and maximum expansion volume of cooked rice was 3.2 times greater than rice grain. 4. The gelatinization degree of cooked rice intensively concerning in hardness of rice grain was increased as water-to-rice ratio, heating temperature and time increased, and it was 0.44 in Milyang-23 and 0.64 in Milyang-15 under the optimum cooking conditions as 160% water-to-rice ratio, $0.2kg/cm^2$ cooking pressure and 25 minutes cooking time. 5. The hardness of cooked rice was decreased as water-to-rice ratio, heating temperature and time increased, and it showed 2.35kg/wt in 90% polished Milyang-23 and 2.0kg/wt in 90 polished Milyang-15 under optimum cooking conditions. For maintaining the same level of hardness of cooking rice Milyang-23 required 25% much more water than Milyang-15. 6. The elasticity of cooked rice was changed proportionally by water-to-rice ratio, heating temperature and time, and it appeared 19.2mm and 15.7mm in 90% polished Milyang-15 and Milyang-23 respectively. 7. The gumminess of cooked rice was decreased as water-to-rice ratio, heating temperature and time increased, and it showed 60 and 73 in 90% polished Milyang-23 and Milyang-15, respectively. 8. The optimum cooking time on differerent pressure in kettle took 25 minutes at $0.2kg/cm^2$, 20 minutes at $0.4kg/cm^2$, 15 minutes at $0.6kg/cm^2$, and 10 minutes at $0.8kg/cm^2$.

Effects of Bonding Conditions on Joint Property between FPCB and RPCB using Thermo-Compression Bonding Method (열압착법을 이용한 경.연성 인쇄회로기판 접합부의 접합 강도에 미치는 접합 조건의 영향)

  • We investigated effects of bonding conditions on the peel strength of rigid printed circuit board (RPCB)/ flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) joints bonded using a thermo-compression bond method, The electrodes on the FPCB were coated with Sn by a dipping process. We confirmed that the bonding temperature and bonding time strongly affected the bonding configuration and strength of the joints. Also, the peel strength is affected by dipping conditions; the optimum dipping condition was found to be temperature of $270^{\circ}C$ and time of 1s. The bonding strength linearly increased with increasing bonding temperature and time until $280^{\circ}C$ and 10s. The fracture energy calculated from the F-x (Forcedisplacement) curve during a peel test was the highest at bonding temperature of $280^{\circ}C$.

Optimization of Separation Process of Bioflavonoids and Dietary Fibers from Tangerine Peels using Hollow Fiber Membrane (중공사 막을 이용한 감귤 과피 bioflavonoids 분리 및 식이 섬유 회수 공정 최적화)

  • Tangerine peel is mostly discarded as waste in citrus processing. However, tangerine peel contains besides dietary fibers bioflavonoids such as naringin and hesperidin which act as antimicrobials and blood pressure depressants, respectively. A continuous membrane separation process was optimized for the production of bioflavonoids relative to feed flow rate, transmembrane pressure, temperature, and pH. The tangerine peel was blended with 7.5 times water volume and the extract was prefiltered through a prefiltration system. The prefiltered extract was ultrafiltered in a hollow fiber membrane system. The flux and feed flow rate didn't show any apparent correlation, but we could observe a mass-transfer controlled region of over 8 psi. When temperature increased from $9^{\circ}C\;to\;25^{\circ}C$, the flux increased about $10\;liters/m^2/min\;(LMH)$ but between $25^{\circ}C\;and\;33^{\circ}C$, the flux increased only 2 LMH. At every transmembrane pressure, the flux of pH 4.8 was the most highest and the flux at pH 3.0 was lower than that of pH 6.0, 7.0, or 9.0. Therefore, the optimum operating conditions were 49.3 L/hr. 10 psi, $25^{\circ}C$, and pH 4.8. Under the optimum conditions, the flux gradually decreased and finally reached a steady-state after 1 hr 50 min. The amount of dietary fibers in 1.0 g retentate in each separation step was analyzed and bioflavonoids concentration in each permeate was measured. The contents of total dietary fiber in the 170 mesh retentate and soluble dietary fiber in the prefiltered retentate were the highest. Naringin and hesperidin concentration in the permeate were $0.45{\sim}0.65\;mg/g\;and\;5.15{\sim}6.86\;mg/g$ respectively, being $15{\sim}22$ times and $79{\sim}93$ times higher than those in the tangerine peel. Therefore, it can be said that PM 10 hollow fiber membrane separation system may be a very effective method for the recovery of bioflavonoids from tangerine peel.

Static Supercritical Fluid Extraction of PCBs from Soil Matrix (정적 초임계유체 방식에 의한 토양 중의 PCBs 추출)

  • Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) known as environmental contaminants in soil were analyzed by the soil pollution standard process test and the static supercritical $CO_2$ extraction mode. It was shown that the percent average recoveries of PCBs by the soil pollution standard process test were ranged in 25-35% and the corresponding standard deviations were above 10%. In contrast, the percent average recoveries of PCBs by the static supercritical $CO_2$ extraction mode were 2-2.5 times higher and standard deviations were within 7%. These results indicate that static supercritical $CO_2$ extraction mode may be a useful alternative to sample pretreatment certified by the soil pollution standard process test. The increasing supercritical $CO_2$ pressure from 1130 psi to 1996 psi at $40^{\circ}C$ enhanced the recovery of all PCB congeners from soil. However, at same Tc and Pc, the equilibrium time (5 versus 60 minutes) had no effect on the recovery of each PCB congener. Finally, similar PCB recoveries were obtained under the same extraction condition, regardless of the molecular weight and structure (coplanar versus non-coplanar) of PCB congeners.
