Stable Anisotropic Freezing Modeling Technique Using the Interaction between IISPH Fluids and Ice Particles (안정적이고 이방성한 빙결 모델링을 위한 암시적 비압축성 유체와 얼음 입자간의 상호작용 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a new method to stable simulation the directional ice shape by coupling of freezing solver and viscous water flow. The proposed ice modeling framework considers viscous fluid flow in the direction of ice growth, which is important in freezing simulation. The water simulation solution uses the method of applying a new viscous technique to the IISPH(Implicit incompressible SPH) simulation, and the ice direction and the glaze effect use the proposed anisotropic freezing solution. The condition in which water particles change state to ice particles is calculated as a function of humidity and new energy with water flow. Humidity approximates a virtual water film on the surface of the object, and fluid flow is incorporated into our anisotropic freezing solution to guide the growth direction of ice. As a result, the results of the glaze and directional freezing simulations are shown stably according to the flow direction of viscous water.

Electrical Resistivity Response Due to the Variation of Embankment Shape and Reservoir Level (제체형태와 수위에 따른 전기비저항 반응 연구)

  • The distortion effect of electrical response for two-dimensional (2-D) DC resistivity method was verified in terms of 2-D inversion result of synthetic data obtained by three-dimensional (3-D) modeling, which is frequently applied to assess the safety of center core-type fill dam structure. The distortion effect is due to 2-D interpretation for 3-D structure. By the modeling analysis, we found that the water level is correctly described in the resistivity section around the middle part rather than each end side of the embankment due to the 3-D terrain effect, when the material of the embankment is assumed as horizontally uniform. And when we set the slope of outer rock fill part as uniform. the sharper the slope of the center core is, the more similar the resistivity section reflects. On the other hand, when the slope of the rock fill is steep, the resistivity section shows the water level at lower position than the real one, and the 3-D distortion effect at the end side of the embankment was enhanced.

  • Unsteady aerodynamic analysis of an air-pressure-levitated high-speed ground vehicle moving over the nonplanar ground surface are performed using the boundary-element method. The potential flow solution is included in a time-stepping loop and the wake is captured as part of the solution. When the vehicle moving inside the channel, the lift coefficient and the pitching moment coefficient of the vehicle are increased further because the air trapped by the channel increases the ground effect. In other words, the nonplanar ground surface such as the channel decreases further the longitudinal stability of the vehicle. On the other hand, there is little difference between the ground and the channel in the lateral stability of the vehicle because the lift increment due to the nonplanar ground surface such as the channel takes place on both sides of the wing with the same rate of increase.

Application of Resistivity/SP Monitoring Technique to Maintenance of Water Utilization Facilities (수리시설물의 유지관리를 위한 비저항/SP 모니터링기법 연구)

  • The subject of this paper is research into the application of resistivity/SP monitoring to detecting the water leakage of water utilization facilities. For this purpose, we installed a comprehensive monitoring system consisting of resistivity/SP measurement, inclinometer, piezometer, and water gauge at an embankment, Using this monitoring system, we monitored the various kinds of measurement data and compared the resistivity structures and SP variations that of hydrological and engineering data in order to investigate the water leakage and stability of the embankment. The variations of resistivity and SP at the embankment were provided from the monitoring data and we could accurately locate the portions of which resistivities and SP have sharply changed, Furthermore, we could estimate the stability of the embankment more effectively and quantitatively by jointly interpreting the monitoring data of resistivity and SP, water level, pore water pressure, and subsurface displacement. The monitoring experiments in this study led us to the conclusion that for the efficient maintenance of the water utilization facilities, monitoring the resistivity and SP data would be much more preferable to performing the just one-time measurements.

  • The prediction of combustion instability is important to avoid an obvious threat to the structural safety and the motor performance because it affects the apparent response function of the propellant, the burning rate, and a mean flow Mach number at the local surface. The combustion instability occurs in case acoustic waves were coupled with the combustion/flow dynamic frequency. In this paper, an acoustic instability model is derived from the nonlinear wave equation for analysing acoustic dynamics in solid rocket motors. The chamber pressure and burning rate effects on combustion instability have been investigated.

  • 최근까지는 주로 비정질 실리콘이 디스플레이의 채널층으로 상용화 되어왔다. 비정질 실리콘 기반의 박막 트랜지스터는 제작의 경제성 및 균일성을 가지고 있어서 널리 상용화되고 있다. 하지만 비정질 실리콘의 구조적인 문제인 낮은 전자 이동도(< $1\;cm^2/Vs$)로 인하여 디스플레이의 대면적화에 부적합하며, 광학적으로 불투명한 특성을 갖기 때문에 차세대 디스플레이의 응용에 불리한 점이 있다. 이런 문제점의 대안으로 현재 국내외 여러 연구 그룹에서 산화물 기반의 반도체를 박막 트랜지스터의 채널층으로 사용하려는 연구가 진행중이다. 산화물 기반의 반도체는 밴드갭이 넓어서 광학적으로 투명하고, 상온에서 증착이 가능하며, 비정질 실리콘에 비해 월등히 우수한 이동도를 가짐으로 디스플레이의 대면적화에 유리하다. 특히 Zinc Oxide의 경우, band gap이 3.4eV로써, transparent conductors, varistors, surface acoustic waves, gas sensors, piezoelectric transducers 그리고 UV detectors 등의 많은 응용에 쓰이고 있다. 또한, a-Si TFTs에 비해 ZnO-based TFTs의 경우 우수한 소자 성능과 신뢰성을 나타내며, 대면적 제조시 우수한 균일성 및 낮은 생산비용이 장점이다. 그러나 ZnO-baesd TFTs의 경우 일정한 bias 아래에서 threshold voltage가 이동하는 문제점이 displays의 소자로 적용하는데 매우 중요하고 문제점으로 여겨진다. 특히 gate insulator와 channel layer사이의 interface에서의 defect에 의한 charge trapping이 이러한 문제점들을 야기한다고 보고되어진다. 본 연구에서는 Zinc Oxide 기반의 박막 트랜지스터를 DC magnetron sputtering을 이용하여 상온에서 제작을 하였다. 또한, $Si_3N_4$ 기판 위에 electron cyclotron resonance (ECR) $O_2$ plasma 처리와 plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD)를 통하여 $SiO_2$ 를 10nm 증착을 하여 interface의 개선을 시도하였다. 그리고 TFTs 소자의 출력 특성 및 전이 특성을 평가를 하였고, 소자의 field effect mobility의 값이 향상을 하였다. 또한 Temperature, Bias Temperature stability의 조건에서 안정성을 평가를 하였다. 이러한 interface treatment는 안정성의 향상을 시킴으로써 대면적 디스플레의 적용에 비정질 실리콘을 대체할 유력한 물질이라고 생각된다.

  • In this paper, we developed a Zigbee module based on CC2520 which is possible to construct the mesh network and also support to Zigbee Pro standard as a preceding research of autonomous moving of mobile robot using Zigbee. After manufacturing the Zigbee module, we selected antenna to fit Zigbee wireless frequency band using network analyze as means performance improvement. We also carry out an impedance matching of Zigbee module, extend the possible distance of two-way wireless communication and ensure the safety of communication.

Observer Design for Discrete-Time Nonlinear Systems with Output Delay (출력지연을 갖는 이산시간 비선형 시스템의 관측기 설계)

  • This paper presents the observer design method for discrete-time nonlinear systems with delayed output. It is shown that by considering a nonlinear term of error dynamics as an additional state variable, the discrete-time nonlinear error dynamics with time delay can be transformed into the discrete-time linear one with time delay. Sufficient conditions for existence of state observer are characterized by linear matrix inequalities. Finally, an illustrative example is given in order to show the effectiveness of our design method.

  • 본 연구에서는 선박 자동조타시스템의 비선형 요소가 추진 에너지 손실량에 미치는 영향을 정량적으로 평가, 해석하였다. 대양을 자동조타로써 보침 항해중인 선박의 자동조타시스템은 크게 선형 및 비선형요소로 나눌 수있는데, 각 요소들중, 특히 시스템 내부에 인위적으로 또는 불가피하게 설치되어 있는 비선형요소들의 영향은 매우 크다. 본 연구에서는 오토파일럿의 비선형 제어 상수가 전체 시스템의 안정성 또는 추진 에너지 손실의 증감에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 본 연구의 수치계산에 이용한 선박은 소형 어선 1척과 대형 광석운반석 1척이며 평균, 풍속 10m/sec 의 대표적 해상상태의 풍·파랑 외란 조건하에서 추지 에너지 손실의 지표인 성능평가지수를 계산하였다. 그리고 수치계산 결과에 대해서도 논하였다.

The Antimicrobial Activity of Cheonggukjang, Using the New Strain, Bacilllus amyloliquefaciens NBF11-1 Extract and Their Heat and pH Stabilities (신균주 Bacillus amyloliquefaciens NBF11-1을 이용한 청국장의 항균활성과 열 및 pH 안정성)

  • This study aims to determine the antimicrobial activity of fermented Cheonggukjang extract using the new Strain, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens NBF11-1, which was first found on the surface of the node part of bamboo stems, but has been studied very little so far. Bacillus subtilis NG24, which is the traditional fermented strain of Cheonggukjang, was selected as the control group and a comparative analysis was performed. The experimental method included measurements of the antimicrobial activity, minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and heat and pH stability. B. amyloliquefaciens NBF11-1 had stronger antimicrobial activity than B. subtilis NG24 against the gram-positive bacteria, C. perfringens and S. aureus and the gram-negative bacteria, A. faecalis and E. coli among the six species of pathogenic bacteria studied. When the minimum inhibitory concentration was measured, B. amyloliquefaciens NBF11-1 in C. perfringens, S. aureus, A. faecalis, and E. coli had an inhibitory effect at concentrations of 0.01 %, 0.21 %, 0.45 % and 0.29 %, respectively, compared to B. subtilis NG24. When the heat and pH stability was measured, B. subtilis NG24 and B. amyloliquefaciens NBF11-1 Cheonggukjang extract did not show any decrease in activity when held at a temperature of $121^{\circ}C$ for 15 minutes and at pH values ranging from 2 to 10 and were therefore considered to be relatively stable against heat and pH changes.
