A Study about the interactions of vessels running parallely proximity to one another and safe conducting of them (병항(竝航) 2선박간의 상호작용과 안전항과(安全航過)에 관한 연구)

  • When a vessel passes near a channel boundary, the boundary creates forces and moments acting on the vessel. With the same reason passing of two vessels closely gives same effects to each other. The principal. difference between the above two cases is that the channel boundary is long and constant shape compared to those of vessels. The interaction forces and moments between two vessels could be assumed to be functions of the longitudinal distance $x_0$, transverse distance $y_0$ and speeds of the two vessels. Passage of one vessel close to another is important operationally from the viewpoint of replenishment at sea, avoidance of collisions and passage of two vessels in restricted channels. The authors studied the interactions between two vessels running closely and calculated safe conducting distances according to separated distances and speeds of the two vessels.

  • 초음파는 액체 및 고체의 매질 속에서도 그 전달 특성이 우수하여 수중 물체의 감지, 지질 조사 자원탐사뿐만 아니라, 의학 분야에서도 널리 사용되고 있다. 물체유동정보 측정방식에는 연속파를 이용한 도플러식과 펄스 신호를 이용한 도플러는 거리 분해능이 좋으므로 깊이에 따른 속도 정보를 쉽게 얻을 수 있는 장점이 있으나, 수신되는 도플러 신호가 탐촉자의 특성과 매질 속에서의 전파특성 등에 의하여 송신된 신호와 파형이 다르고 복잡한 주파수 특성을 가지므로 연속파에서와 같이 도플러 주파수를 직접 측정하기 곤란하다. 도플러 주파수를 검출하기 위하여 여러 방법이 개발되어 있으나, 측정거리와 측정속도의 제약과 더불어, 실시간(real time) 처리에 의한 분포적 측정이 어려운 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 시간 영역에서 국소 데이터를 이용하여 펄스 신호의 위상을 정의하고 실시간에서 펄스 신호를 위상으로 변환하는 신호 처리법을 제안하였다. 또한 이 신호 처리법을 응용하여 측정 범위의 위상 곡선에서 위상 차를 계산함으로써 평균 가속도와 유동속도정보를 분포적으로 얻을 수 있는 새로운 펄스 도플러 기법을 제안하였으며, 모델 신호를 만들어 제안된 방법의 유용성을 검토하였다.

  • 현재 국내에서는 안전 운전 서비스 및 교통정보 수집체계 구축에 USN 기술을 적용하기 위한 연구와 시범사업이 추진되고 있다. 사거리 교통 안전 시스템은 교차로로 진입하는 도로위에 무선 센서 노드를 부착하여 무선 센서 노드위를 지나는 차량들의 정보(속도, 위치, ID 등)를 실시간으로 수집 및 분석하여 얻은 차량안전 운전정보를 교차로에 접근하는 차량들에게 전송하여 차량충돌을 회피하도록 하는 텔레매틱스 서비스 시스템이다. 이 시스템에서는 최대 1초 이내에 교차로에 접근하는 차량들의 정보를 수집해서 동일 그룹의 차량들에게 충돌회피 정보를 알려주어야 하기 때문에 일반적인 라우팅 알고리즘보다 높은 신뢰성과 실시간성을 가진 라우팅 알고리즘이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 교차로 주변차량들의 정보를 수집하여 교차로의 베이스 스테이션까지 전송하는데 있어서 높은 신뢰성과 실시간성을 가진 새로운 라우팅 알고리즘을 제안한다.

  • The aim if the present research is to develop a guideline if a safe conducting distance according to separated distance and velocity if the two vessels to navigate safely in restricted waterways. The authors studied the hydrodynamic forces between two vessels running closely and calculated safe conducting distances according to separated distances and speeds if the vessels under the condition if wind and strong current.

  • 본 논문에서는 레이저 센서를 장착한 자율 이동 로봇을 이용하여 실내에서 장애물들을 검출한다. 데이터에서 나오는 패턴을 인식해 사람과 정적 장애물을 실시간으로 구분한 후 사람의 속도와 로봇의 속도를 각각 비교하여 따로 지정해준 안전거리를 유지하며 주행한다. 예상치 못한 상황이 발생될 것을 대비해 로봇의 전방에 범퍼 센서를 장착하여 안전성을 고려하였다. 로봇의 자기 위치 인식을 위해 StarGazer센서를 이용하였다. 패턴은 레이저 센서 데이터의 거리, 각 값을 이용하여 다리 패턴의 너비를 구하고 너비의 가운데 점을 중심점으로 지정해 추적하며 구동하는 알고리즘을 구현하였다.

  • The results of experimental, theoretical, and numerical analysis were compared regarding the concentrations and velocities of flammable gas jets generated by pressurized leakage of methane gas. The concentration was measured through experiments for the jet dispersion process, and the velocities was calculated by applying the self-similarity theory. And the velocities and concentrations were calculated using CFD tools - FLACS and CFX- compared with the results. The difference between self-similarity model and CFD is due to the buoyancy term, which increases as the distance from a leak source increases. The results are compared with dimensionless parameters using the leak source radius and velocity components along the leak axis.

  • This study proposes a novel performance measure, which is referred to as Hazardous Spacing Index (HSI), to be used for evaluating safety of traffic stream on freeways. The basic principle of the proposed methodology is to investigate whether drivers would have sufficient stopping sight distance (SSD) under limited visibility conditions to eliminate rear-end crash potentials at every time step. Both Road Weather Information Systems (RWIS) and Vehicle Detection Systems (VDS) data were used to derive visibility distance (VD) and SSD, respectively. Moreover, the K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) method was adopted to predict both VD and SSD in estimating predictive HSIs, which would be used to trigger advanced warning information to encourage safer driving. The outcome of this study is also expected to be used for monitoring freeway traffic stream in terms of safety.

Study on Advisory Safety Speed Model Using Real-time Vehicular Data (실시간 차량정보를 이용한 안전권고속도 산정방안에 관한 연구)

  • This paper proposes the methodology about advisory safety speed based on real-time vehicular data collected from highway. The proposed model is useful information to drivers by appling seamless wireless communication and being collected from ECU(Engine Control Unit) equipment in every vehicle. Furthermore, this model also permits the use of realtime sensing data like as adverse weather and road-surface data. Here, the advisory safety speed is defined "the safety speed for drivers considering the time-dependent traffic condition and road-surface state parameter at uniform section", and the advisory safety speed model is developed by considering the parameters: inter-vehicles safe stopping distance, statistical vehicle speed, and real-time road-surface data. This model is evaluated by using the simulation technique for exploring the relationships between advisory safety speed and the dependent parameters like as traffic parameters(smooth condition and traffic jam), incident parameters(no-accident and accident) and road-surface parameters(dry, wet, snow). A simulation's results based on 12 scenarios show significant relationships and trends between 3 parameters and advisory safety speed. This model suggests that the advisory safety speed has more higher than average travel speed and is changeable by changing real-time incident states and road-surface states. The purpose of the research is to prove the new safety related services which are applicable in SMART Highway as traffic and IT convergence technology.

  • U-Turn offers convenience to drivers. U-Turn increases efficiency of traffic flow. But Standard of U-Turn is not clear. It caused many problems of traffic flow and traffic safety. This study estimate length between U-Turn location with front intersection based on stopping sight distance and left-turn vehicle's queue length. Variables are used traffic volume and operation speed. This study Analysis of U-Turn vehicle's behaviors and classification of conflict form by investigation. U-Turn length estimating based on relationship analysis between conflict with U-Turn length. Variables are used lane changing angles and operation speed. This study estimates length between U-Turn location with back intersection based on gap acceptance theory. Variables are used traffic volume, operation speed and lane changing angles. So, U-Turn location and length estimated considering traffic flow and traffic safety.

A Study on Safe Separation Distance between Tunnel and Interchange (터널과 입체 교차로간의 안전한 이격거리 연구)

  • Development of mountain area is increasing due to the demand for improvement of traffic convenience and development of underdeveloped area. Therefore, there frequently are sections where tunnels and interchanges are located close to each other. These sections do not only affect tunnel planning, types and length of interchanges, but also affect more on route selection. In Korea, several design criteria present each reference value but these values are very similar. In the situation, the minimum value among them is usually applied when planning roads and it could cause traffic safety problems in different site conditions. In this study, the problems of design speed, illuminance adaptation distance, and lane change intervals are analyzed by simulating the cases that the problem could occur when calculating the separation distance between tunnel and interchange. The results obtained from this study can be summarized as following: the driving speed should be applied in case that the site has a big gap between design speed and driving speed because the uniform application of the design speed is not safe; the illuminance adaptation distance should include the influence distance in the section affected by the direct light; in addition, the lane change distance should include the time to perceive the situation of the next lane after the lane change in the section required for successive lane change.
