This study analyzed a total of 37 studies about bi-lingulism and English education as a foreign language published in 8 academic journals in early childhood education or child development fields. Research topics, participants, methods, and variables in the studies were categorized and descriptively analyzed. The research findings which had been statistically investigated were also summarized. The most frequently studied research topics were children's development and English education program exposure, actual conditions of English education in preschool settings and effectiveness of specific English programs for preschool children. However, children's home characteristics were seldom included as research variables and no research investigated so called English preschools. Several studies reported that bi-lingual children may have different language development paths from mono-lingual children but they eventually have comparable language abilities to mono-lingual children. Also some studies reported that, when learning English as a foreign language in school settings, older children can handle more information regarding English than younger children, resulting in better outcomes of older children. Exposure to two languages in early childhood seems to contribute to young children's meta linguistic awareness but the long term effect of English education in early childhood should be further studied. Several English education programs for preschool settings were developed and the effectiveness were investigated. Even though most of them reported that their programs were effective to children's English ability or interests, the results should be carefully interpreted because their research designs and methods were not rigorous.

Recently, English education of educational institutions is gradually invigorated as the importance of English education for preschooler is increasing. Role-play, in particular, is known as an effective way to learn English for children because it promotes children's interest in language and naturally encounters English-speaking culture. Therefore, in this paper, we tried to find out how to effectively use UCC in role-playing for English education for preschoolers. First of all, questionnaires for pre and post-test were conducted for preschoolers. The results are analyzed by SPSS to find out children's understanding of UCC, interest in English, interest in role-playing, and interest in acting. As a result of the analysis, most children knew UCC well and showed strong interest in watching and producing UCC. Also, the more interested in English and role-playing, the more they wanted to show more advanced English and acting through the feedback of the contents they produced. Therefore, even in preschool children's English education, the development of language and acting can be shown by producing UCC through role-playing under the teacher's control and receiving feedback on it. The results of this study are expected to be effectively used when planning English education through role-playing in daycare centers or kindergartens.

So far, there were a few web-based distance English learning systems for children. The existing systems for children have not appropriately reflected their learning characteristics and interests, since most of those systems regards mainly adults as targets. This thesis is aimed at proposing more effective educational service modules of web-based real-time system in order to encourage children's interests as much as possible in learning English. The web-based real-time distance learning system is a model based on the survey over the current use and satisfaction status of elementary school students who have actually used those kinds of systems. With the great expectation of more effective way of learning English, it also focuses on attracting parents to participate the learning process by providing a service to look over, in real-time, what their children do through the internet-based English learning system.

세계화 시대를 맞아 영어 교육에 대한 필요성은 점차 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라 아동기 영어 교육에 대한 관심이 점차 증가함과 동시에 잘못된 교육 방식에 의한 부작용 또한 증가하고 있다. 아동기의 영어 학습 프로그램은 공부가 아닌 놀이의 측면으로 접근하는 것이 중요하다. 본 논문은 기존의 주입식 영어 학습을 탈피하고 놀이로써 접근하기 위한 음성 조합 및 인식을 이용한 양방향 영어 학습 프로그램의 설계 및 구현에 대하여 논한다.

본고는 광주광역시 남구의 어린이집에 자녀를 보내고 있는 학부모들을 대상으로 초등학교 취학 전 아동의 조기영어교육에 대한 부모의 인식과 실태를 통해 바람직하고 효과적인 조기영어교육을 마련하기 위한 기초적인 자료를 얻는데 목적을 두고 첫째, 광주광역시 남구지역의 조기영어교육에 관한 학부모들의 인식을 조사하여 문제점을 살펴보고 효율적인 방향을 제시한다. 둘째, 현재 조기영어교육이 행해지고 있는 어린이집에 자녀를 보내는 학부모님들에게 설문지를 배포하여 조기영어교육에 관한 인식을 조사했다, 이조사를 바탕으로 조기영어 교육의 올바른 교육방향을 제시하는데 목적이 있다.

The purpose of this study is, targeting 88 students in the department of English education for Children, D University, to examine the relationships between self-esteem, major satisfaction, career identity, and university life adjustment. A survey was performed, and collected questionnaires were analyzed with IBM SPSS Statistics 22 using reliability analysis, factorial analysis, frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, t-test, variance analysis, correlation and multiple regression analysis. As a result of the analysis, self-esteem, career identity, major satisfaction and career identity had high correlations with university life adjustment, in order. Self-esteem (${\beta}=.664$, p=.000) and major satisfaction(${\beta}=.349$, p=.000) influenced university life adjustment. In order to raise the university life adjustment ability of students in the department of English education for children, it is needed to develop systematic and specific programs for improving self-esteem and major satisfaction.

This study proposes using children's literature as a means of teaching and learning English as a foreign language and suggests practical strategies on the basis of transactional theory of reading suggested by Rosenblatt (1994, 1995). This study suggests three novels written for children or young adults: On My Honor (1986) by Marion Dane Bauer, The Giver (1993) by Lois Lowry and Hatchet (1987) by Gary Paulsen. These texts were selected because of their diverse topics, easy and comprehensible language, engaging stories, and authentic and rich expressions, making them effective materials for foreign language learners. This paper is organized as follows: First, it reviews research on teaching literature in English education and response-oriented language teaching to provide theoretical background of literature-based language teaching and learning. Second, it provides the background of the texts selected for the study. Third, it develops diverse, practical strategies for instructors who intend to use children's literature in EFL teaching. We expect to guide EFL instructors in adopting children's literature in their English class by connecting theory and practice and by providing diverse methods and strategies, and sample responses by EFL university students.

본 논문은 아동을 위한 교육용 플래시 게임을 설계 및 구현하였다. 교육용 게임을 통하여 아동들에게 폭력적인 요소를 배제하고, 게임을 통하여 영어 단어 맞추기 게임, 한글 단어 맞추기 게임, 산수공부 게임, 역사공부 게임 등에 대한 게임 화면설계, 메뉴설계, 속성 설정, 알고리즘, 게임 실행 및 구현 결과에 대한 내용을 기술하였고, 게임에 대한 가능성을 보였다. 게임을 통하여 아동들의 두되 발달에 도움이 되고, 학습에 유익하도록 하는 게임을 설계 구현하였고, 그 화면의 결과를 기술하였다. 아동들에게 폭력적이지 않고, 흥미도 유발하고, 또한 성장기에 유익하도록 하는 장점이 있다.
