This study examined the relation between parent attachment, peer rejection, and friendship in 768 eighth grade students and victimization by peers in early adolescence. The subjects reported on father attachment, mother attachment, and victimization. Victimization was also rated by peers and teachers. The subjects were assessed on peer rejection and friendship(number of friends and presence of a best friend). The results indicated that (1)Father attachment and mother attachment were negatively related to self-reported victimization; (2)Peer rejection was positively related to victimization; (3)The number of friends was negatively related to victimization rated by peers, and victimization rated by peers varied as a function of the presence of a best friend only for girls; (4)The relation between parent attachment and victimization was not mediated by peer rejection or friendship, which indicated that parent attachment had a direct influence on victimization.
This study explored the contribution of mother's representation of her mother and father during early years, marital satisfaction, and husband's participation in child caring to mothers' parenting behaviors. The subjects were 253 middle-class mothers and fathers in Seoul who had 2-to 3-year-old children. The data were gathered through questionnaires developed for the current study. As predicted, marital satisfaction and husband support as well as early family experiences were significant variables in predicting positive mothering for mothers of young children. However, the most powerful predictor of mothers' parenting turned out to be marital satisfaction. It was noteworthy that mothers who experienced positive and secure relationships with their own mothers were actively involved/intimate with their children whereas mothers who had insecure relationships with their own fathers showed more authoritarian control over their children.
This study investigated the attachment representation, self-perception, and social competence of preschoolers of interracial families in rural areas. Participants were 60 3- to 5-year-old preschoolers with Korean father-other Asian national mother group and 91 3- to 5-year-old preschoolers with Korean father-Korean mother group in rural areas. Results were that 58% of preschool children of interracial families were securely attached, 30% were insecure-disorder type, and 12% were insecure-avoidance type. Preschool children of interracial families were rated by their teachers as showing more withdrawn behaviors and prosocial behaviors than preschool children of Korean parents. A sex difference in the interracial family group showed boys with more withdrawn behaviors than girls.
The purpose of the current study was to determine whether preschoolers' attachment relationships with their parents and socioemotional behaviors are related to their day care experiences in infancy and at the present time. The participants consisted of 59 preschoolers and their mothers from 2-parent, white, middle-class dual earner families in Madison, Wisconsin. Preschoolers' attachment quality was measured by two representational instruments: the Separation Anxiety Test and "My Family and Friends". Mothers completed questionnaires about their family background and their children's day care history. The quality of current day care was obtained from directors' reports about regulatable features of the day care centers. Teachers completed the Preschool Behavior Questionnaire. Data was analyzed by hierarchical multiple regression analysis. The results showed that the quality of preschoolers' attachment relationships with parents were significantly related to the amount of day care during infancy, the quality of current care, and children's gender. In addition, the amount of infant day care appeared to have negative relations with children's socioemotional behavior problems as evaluated by teachers.
Objective: This study explores the correlation between adult attachment, empathy, and teacher efficacy among childcare teachers. Additionally, it analyzes the mediating effect of empathy on the relationship between adult attachment and teacher efficacy. Methods: The survey, conducted from July to August 2023, involved 198 childcare teachers as participants. Data Analysis was performed using SPSS 23.0 and the Process Macro. Results: First, a significant correlation was identified between childcare teachers' adult attachment (avoidance) and empathy, as well as between adult attachment (avoidance) and teacher efficacy among childcare teachers. Second, the study observed a partial mediating effect of empathy in the relationship between adult attachment (avoidance) and teacher efficacy. In essence, this research confirmed both the direct effect of avoidance attachment in childcare teachers on teacher efficacy and the indirect effect mediated by empathy. Conclusion/Implications: This research affirms the impact of adult attachment and empathy on teacher efficacy among childcare teachers, discussing implications for future training and development.
Based on the framework of self-determination theory and past relevant literature, the study develops and estimates a causal relationship between intrinsic motivation, career commitment, and turnover intention. The study utilizes data from a cross-sectional survey conducted on 353 child welfare workers of the fields of foster care, child protective services, and child residential care all over the country. The study relies on Structural Equation Modeling(SEM) method. The results of Confirmatory Factor Analysis indicate the validity of measurement model. The results of SEM tests show a good fit of the proposed model. Controlling the level of salary and the working hours of the workers, the model reveals that intrinsic motivation is positively related to career commitment, and that career commitment is negatively related to turnover intention. In other words, the effect of intrinsic motivation on turnover intention is mediated by career commitment. Implications of the findings for practice and study limitations are discussed.

The major findings were as follows : First, the result showed there was average level of negative relationship when mother's negative behavior was compared with children's attachment whereas it showed average level of positive relationship in aggression. And also, low level of negative relationship showed between the attachment and aggression. Method: From December 5 to 23, 2005, self-reported questionnaire data were collected from 990 Busan City elementary school students of the 5th and 6th grades. The questionnaire consisted of questions about their characteristic features in playing Internet games based on the K-scale developed by KADO. The data were analyzed using the SPSS WIN 10.0 program. Frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, and standard deviation, $X^2$-test, ANOVA analysis and Scheffe test were used to analyze the data. Results: 1. With regard to the level of Internet game addiction, 71.2% of the students responded that they were general users, and 6.3%, at high risk for addiction. Mean scores were 103.3 for the high-risk group, 77.7 for the potential risk group, and 55.86 for the general user group. The total mean was 63.74. 2. Mean scores for parent-child attachment levels were 97.1 and 99.6 for father and mother, respectively. Conclusion: These results suggest that a collaborative program to educate and counsel parents to increase the parent-child attachment level needs to be established in protection and recovery programs for Internet game addiction.
