  • This study is aimed at analyzing the factors that affect the behaviors of employee's investment, such as a decision making process in a variety of views and proving the extent of how those factors influence on their investment. The basic assumption is that the preceding factors that can be determined by the personal investment propensity, a psychological factor asserted by Behavior Financial Theory and financial-economic and social environment. This study uses Hershey's Investment Behavior Model(2007) as the main analysis tool to explain the investment behavior of individuals and deals with personal investment inclination in the psychological perspective of overconfidence, self-control and the risk tolerance propensity and add the financial and economic factors in terms of financial literacy and economic distress. Also the new preceding social environmental factors like social interaction and the effect of reference group are added to make this research to be more precise. This study analyze the adjustment effect of professional invest-consulting service that affect the fluctuation influence between the individual variables(those factors) and subordination variable(the level of investment satisfaction). The study reveals that overconfidence and self-control in direct ways have a positive effect on the level of investment satisfaction in terms of investment behavior and economic distress has a negative effect on the level of investment satisfaction. The adjustment effect provided by financial experts in investment consulting service is affirmed as the critical factor that increase the influence between self-control and the level of investment satisfaction. To conclude, the research reveals that the psychological factors are the main criteria when the workers as employees have to make investment decisions. To make investors be reasonable, a systematic financial education system provided by experts is needed from the early adolescent stages and financial companies should develop the relevant services of consulting service department as a key financial sector and financial investment products and consulting program and marketing tool pertinent to investors ages, vocational traits and their inclinations.

  • In Study 1, the author translated the material which is modified by Han(2017) and allows researchers to examine misinformation effect about background (temporal structure of event) and object information. Eighty-five Korean participants were participated in Study 1 and tested their memory after misled by temporal and object post-event information about a story. The translated material could produce misinformation effect in both types of information. In Study 2, a 3-way ANOVA was conducted with combined data collected from Korea and the U.S to test the effects of three IVs (whether misled or not, the type of information and the nationality of the participants) on memory after misled by temporal and object information. As results, the main effects of all three IVs, the 2-way interaction effect of whether misled or not and the type of information, and the 3-way interaction effect of all the three IVs were statistically significant. In sum, the higher accuracy rate was obtained when the participants were not misled, and they were more accurate about the information about object. Americans tended to be more accurate. The misinformation effect was larger when the participants were misled by object information. The 2-way interaction effect was found only in the Korean sample. In the discussion, the implication of the current study was discussed.

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate which psychological factors influence on the gifted students' achievement. As a psychological factor, self-determination, learning goal-orientation, self-efficacy, belief of intelligence, and self-regulated learning strategy were examined. The difference in psychological factors between the gifted with high achievement and the gifted with low achievement was to explored. For the study 128 gifted students' data from second-year data of Korean Education Longitudinal Study (KELS) were selected and analyzed. The findings indicate that the predictors of gifted students' achievement are extrinsic regulation, identified regulation, mastery-approach goal, self-efficacy, elaboration, and meta-cognition factor. Especially, the factor of elaboration and identified regulation are the strongest predictors. The findings from t-test analysis indicate that the gifted with low achievement show the low level in self-determination, mastery-approach, self-efficacy, elaboration, meta-cognition, place management and seeking social assistance from teacher. Therefore the developing elaboration, one of regulation learning strategy, is essential to improve the achievement of the gifted students with low scores.

  • This study examined the role of self-construals in marital satisfaction among men and women, and explored how independent and interdependent self-construals contribute to or undermine marital satisfaction. Data were drawn from a self-administered questionnaire study in which 489 married people(aged 25-75) residing in Seoul participated. Path analyses were conducted using Structural Equation Modeling Program, and a goodness of fit of the proposed path model was evaluated. As expected, the positive impact of independent self-construal on marital satisfaction was mediated by self-esteem and clarity of communication, and that of interdependent self-construal on marital satisfaction was mediated by psychological stability and a sense of relational well-being. The direct effects of these two types of self-construal on marital satisfaction were opposite. As predicted, independent self-construal decreased marital satisfaction, whereas interdependent self-construal increased it. All of the direct and indirect effects of independent and interdependent self-construals on marital satisfaction were statistically significant, except the indirect effect of interdependent self-construal as mediated by psychological stability. The goodness of fit indexes of the path model indicated that the model was acceptable. However, the results of separate path analyses for men and women showed that some of the effects of self-construals on marital satisfaction differed by gender. Based on these results, implications for clinical social work practice were discussed.

  • The notions of conditional probability and independence are fundamental to all aspects of probabilistic reasoning. Several previous studies identified some misconceptions in students' thinking in conditional probability. However, they have not analyzed enough the nature of conditional probability. The purpose of this study was to analyze conditional probability and students' knowledge on conditional probability. First, we analyzed the conditional probability from mathematical, historico-genetic, psychological, epistemological points of view, and identified the essential aspects of the conditional probability. Second, we investigated the high school students' and undergraduate students' thinking m conditional probability and independence. The results showed that the students have some misconceptions and difficulties to solve some tasks with regard to conditional probability. Based on these analysis, the characteristics of reasoning about conditional probability are investigated and some suggestions are elicited.

  • Objectives : Behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia(BPSD) represent significant clinical problems, resulting in functional decline, caregiver distress, institutionalization and increased mortality. A recent study showed gender differences have important role in the development of BPSD, but relationship between BPSD and gender has never been studied in Korea. This study was designed to examine whether patients with Alzheimer's disease show gender differences in behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia(BPSD). Methods : Ninety-eight subjects with Alzheimer's disease were included in this study. We carried out history taking and cognitive assessment for the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease based on DSM-IV. Cognitive impairment and BPSD were measured using the Mini Mental State Examination(MMSE), Global Deterioration Scale (GDS), Clinical Dementia Rating(CDR) and the Korean Neuropsychiatric Inventory(K-NPI). Independent samples t-test was used to examine the differences across gender in BPSD. Correlation analysis between MMSE, CDR, GDS and NPI was performed using Pearson's correlation coefficient. Results : There were no significant gender differences between the gender in BPSD. We found statistically significant negative correlations between MMSE with NPI total score, and with scores of several sub-domains such as hallucination. Conclusions : This study showed that gender differences in BPSD are not significant. Further research is necessary to identify whether BPSD affect gender differences or individual differences.

  • This thesis is an interpretation of "Golden bird" of Grimm's fairy tale and similar other tales from the perspective of analytical psychology. Golden bird story start loss of golden apple in king's garden. King and three sons are one-sided structure live without female members in family. They need feminine aspect. Adventure and journey of stupid youngest son can be seen as a individuation process in analytic psychology. Ego meets several painful experience during journey. New Kingdom has a new specific collective consciousness. When ego fixed dominated specific collective consciousness he can only be liberated after completing the difficult task of the next phase in crisis of death. This process is initiation, which is a supplement to feminity after recovery of increased consciousness, marriage with the princess, which is possible to unify the sexes (coniunctio oppositorum). The ego who got the apple, bird, horse, and princess which is shown to be a supplement to feminity, does not attain a complete success. Although the youngest comes out after brothers' failure, yet separation and abandonment of persona are difficult challenges and after all he achives a higher consciousness and then he primarily marries the princess, his Anima, after he executed his brothers for his repeated hardships, when the intellectual capacity is sacrificed as offering. Also, the fox restores himself from magic after the youngest son kills him and cut his head and feet, as the fox's wish. To be transformed into a human being. It experiences another consciousness. Finally, unifying the coniunctio oppositerum is fulfilled and a divine bond achieves the wholeness and it is accomplished individuation. In clinical practice, fox is compared to a therapist as a guide of individuation process who lead clients.

  • This study conducted to confirm the effect of college students' individual tendencies and psychological variables on the depth of chest pressure during CPR. For this, the depth of chest compression during CPR was measured after investigating individual tendencies, fatigue, performance confidence, and performance anxiety in 127 college students. Multiple linear regression analysis was performed using individual propensity and psychological variables as independent variables and chest compression depth as dependent variables to identify factors affecting chest compression depth. Pearson correlation analysis was performed to confirm the correlation between variables. As a result of the analysis, the higher the performance confidence, the deeper the chest compression depth, and the higher the performance anxiety, the lower the chest compression depth(p<0.05). The depth of chest pressure showed a positive correlation with individual tendencies, performance confidence, while it showed a negative correlation with fatigue and performance anxiety(p<0.01, p<0.05). Based on these results, it is necessary to increase performance confidence and lower performance anxiety in order to perform the correct chest compression depth. For this, various efforts such as program development, education and research are required.

  • This study analyzed whether differences in individual characteristics and parental attachment affect the career maturity of middle school students in grades 1-3 in Asan, South Korea. Individual characteristics included gender, grade, grades, parental education, and economic level, while parental attachment included mutual trust, alienation, and communication. Career maturity included determinism, objectivity, readiness, independence, and assurance. Results showed there were significant differences in gender, grades, and economic level. Only gender differences affected attachment to mothers, with female students exhibiting stronger effects than male students. Grades that both the father and the mother showed differences. The economic level differed only in father's attachment. The effects of parental attachment on career maturity were found to be higher in career maturity with lower father's alienation and higher mother's mutual trust. Career maturity did not affect the assurance variable. Mother's communication affected determinism and mutual trust affected objectivity. Father's mutual trust and mother's communication affected readiness, and father's alienation showed a negative relationship. Mother's mutual trust positively affected independence. These results may be a valuable reference for understanding the behavioral psychology of adolescents and their parents. However, there is a limit to the generalizability of this study.

  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to compare severity, neurocognitive functions, and behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) according to the degree of temporal lobe atrophy (MTA) in Korean patients with dementia due to Alzheimer's disease and mild cognitive impairment due to Alzheimer's disease. Methods : Participants were 114 elderly subjects diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or mild cognitive impairment in this cross-sectional study. MTA in brain MRI was rated with standardized visual rating scales (Scheltens scale) and the subjects were divided into two groups according to Scheltens scale. Severity was evaluated with Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR) and Global Deterioration Scale (GDS). Neurocognitive functions was evaluated with the Korean version of Short Blessed Test (SBT-K) and the Korean version of the Consortium to Establish a Registry for Alzheimer's Disease assessment packet (CERAD-K). BPSD was evaluated with the Korean version of the Neuropsychiatric Inventory (K-NPI). Independent t-test was performed to compare severity, neurocognitive functions, and BPSD between two groups. Results : The group with high severity of MTA showed significantly lower scores in CDR, SBT-K, MMSE-KC, modified Boston naming test, word list recognition, and word list memory (p<0.05). There were no differences in K-NPI scores between two groups. Conclusions : Severity and neurocognitive functions of dementia had significant positive association with MTA, but BPSD had no association with MTA. Evaluating MTA seems to have potential benefit in diagnosing and treating neurocognitive impairments in the elderly. Further evaluation is needed to confirm the association between certain brain structures and BPSD.
