The main goal of this research was to understand housing environment as well as the living behaviors of Korean people who reside in foreign countries. This study includes examination of dwelling units, especially focusing on dwelling behaviors by space types, arrangement and use of the space, and the according residence patterns of the Koreans in the United States. Focus group interview method and survey method were conducted; photography were taken as a visual evidence; and results were analyzed by researchers. This study strongly indicates that most of Koreans try to keep their own way of living in foreign cultures and rather readjust the housing spaces and living patterns to their own culture. The results from this study have limitations in generalizing all Korean families living in foreign cultures, because a convenience sample was used. Although studies of Korean families in Columbia, MO may not provide information that can be generalized to the entire population of Koreans overseas, we expect that this study provides useful insight in understanding and estimating the future trends in residential planning for Koreans.

The study aims to find out the changing aspects of contemporary Korean libraries so called public in terms of their spatial configuration. In so doing, it analysed 14 recently built libraries by investigation of user's behavior. Interview and observation were conducted as a method of investigation. The method of analysis was based on statistics by mapping spatial data. As the result, it could be said that most users have a clear goal in Korea. In some libraries, the distinct characteristics of behavior show that users visit other functional rooms including functional rooms for the purpose. It could be said that the configuration of space in recently public libraries become more public as a place. In view of domestic affairs, in terms of users need, the reading room for personal study have features of the most private room and a static activity. so that the reading room separate from the other functional rooms in floor, but it adjoin other functional rooms in the horizontal configuration. so its location make offset a role of functional rooms can be interactive with each other, except reading room.

Recently, the paradigms of residential planing are changing by digitalization, diversity and globalization. Since the infortance of residential living behavior and lifestyle have been recognizing, house can be perceived as a lifestyle engineering product which realizes lifestyle in a concrete way. The purpose of this research scrutinizes lifestyles through resident's value and preference of everyday living behavior in the residential, special contact. This research was conducted through the small group workshop to housewives divided into three groups such as the age 30-40s, 45-55s, 60-70s group. The workshop consisted of three stages, such as the awareness of family and home, the satisfaction of residential space, the value and preference of everyday living behavior. This study shows that Lifestyle characterize by ages, differences of living pattern and individual traits. The 30-40s' housewives relate to foster of a preschool child and it makes load of household. their characteristic is the preference of rest as releasing stresses. The 44-55s' housewives have self-oriented traits. they pursue own space and interaction with others. The 60-70s' housewives require natural interaction with family more than private space and an open view.

As we recognize the space, humans will experience a process to synthesize elements of cognitive various methods, come to understand the environment. It is intended that on humans to recognize the space, it is intended to act directly under study how to recognize. Humans can know that the determining action based on the values and physical condition, based on the space in which they have been recognized, there are differences in the behavior of the human as a result. Social and arrangement of components - physical region that is cultural difficulties constitute experience specific areas therein. Space for human activities and human, can know that it is not a memory of human behavior, to have a closer relationship with human perception. That is, the description will be aware of the space via the perceptual phenomenon of man due to physical elements performed in the space, what acts about what happens. Through an understanding of the potential for this, and emotion space production consisting only of physical visual element future, and use act of the area to be expressed from his recognition, through the expansion of the perceptual elements, diverse experience richer and more it is a case where deemed necessary access space configuration capable of a broad depth study of this portion is happening, in order to constitute a space, a new interpretation for human behavior is progressing.

A bathroom in house has been stressed not only as a space for physiology and hygiene but also leisure and healthcare. However, the bathroom is the most likely space where an elderly person can have an accident and it is uncomfortable space for them because of their deteriorating physical ability. So the purpose of this study is to help the elderly use their bathroom conveniently by providing smart service. Therefore, we carry out 18 smart service patterns that contain assistive devices and sensors for bathroom. Considering applicability and frequency, from among these service patterns, we suggest 4 service patterns. First is a fall prevention service. This service helps elderly use the bathroom safely at night. Second is a getting ready to go out service. This service helps the situation that elderly use the bathroom after getting up in the morning. Third is a security service in daily life especially before or after meals. And final is a service regarding personal hygiene service after returning home. This service helps to shower or bathe after return home. These services have positive influence in medical expense reductions, good health care and self-reliance of elderly.

This research alms to understand the residents' actual conditions and reasons for remodeling in order to search for the desirable participation design methods, under the assumption that the remodeling of apartments by their current residents is a problem. The subjects of this research are residents of mixed-used apartments supplied via the fitting form housing supply methods recently. The results are shown below. First, the reasons for remodeling by the current residents we expansion of Interior space and change in interior atmosphere. Positive participation of the residents in the design decision is high and this remodeling problem is easily solved. Second, based on the Habraken's SAR theory, supports units and variable units were separated and in each process rational and systematic design methodologies according to the role and responsibility of the residents were observed. Third, considering the great level of remodeling right before moving in, there is a need for the variable housing supply methods of residents to easily participate in the design, construction, and supply of the apartments. Through the participation of the residents In the apartment design process will not only solve the problem of repeated apartment remodeling, but also accommodate the various needs of the residents.

The study aims to furnish the data for the study of invigorating communities of various ages including old people living alone. Furthermore, it seems that the laddering method and kj method can be useful for the study of various attitude survey. This study attempted to extract necessary factors for space for community behavior of elderly people living alone using laddering survey method and KJ rule on a sample of elderly people who live alone in three different rental housings. The keywords that were drawn from the perception survey through laddering were divided into small, middle and large classification using KJ rule. Mostly identical keywords were extracted in the three complexes, implying that there is no difference of perception among the three complexes in this survey. According to the large classification where KJ rule was applied, there were six necessary factors for space for community activity of elderly people living alone in rental housing including spatial consideration, communication, resting space, nature-friendliness, health promotion and Secure identity, which were the same for all of the three complexes.

'1+N'은 현재 복합형 서점의 경영 모드이다. 본 연구는 우선 고객의 기본적 상황과 수요를 조사하였고, 서점 내의 10가지 공간 중 고객의 4가지 기본적 행위를 검토하였다. 다음 서비스 디자인의 3가지 연구 도구와 실내 디자인의 3가지 디자인 요소를 상대적으로 대응하여 '복합형 서점 실내 디자인 기본 분석 프레임'을 수립하였다. 그리고 사례와 '복합형 서점 실내 디자인 기본 분석 프레임'과 결합하여, 고객과 서점이 상호작용하는 자세한 프로세스, 터치포인트와 실내 디자인 프로젝트를 찾아냈다. 디자인 맹점을 찾아 상응하는 해결책을 추출하고 이를 바탕으로, '서비스 디자인 개념에 기초한 복합형 서점 실내 디자인 연구 모델'을 제안하였다. 여기에는 복잡한 공간의 실내를 디자인할 때 주목해야할 요소 및 각 요소 간의 뚜렷한 연관성을 포함하고 있으며, 복합형 서점 실내 기능 구역의 디자인 내용과 서비스 품질검사, 디자인의 공백점을 찾을 수 있다.

생활수준이 점차 높아짐에 따라 환경문제에 대한 국민들의 관심과 인식 수준도 증가하였다. 최근 들어 실내 활동시간이 증가함에 따라 환경에 대한 인식과 개선에 대한 방안이 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 IoT 기반 기술을 이용하여 실시간으로 실내 환경에 대한 모니터링을 통해 환경정보를 수집하고 연동된 제어장치를 이용하여 실내 환경을 적정수준으로 유지하고 개선하는 시스템을 설계하고 개발하였다. 이는 기존의 수동적인 실내 환경개선 행위나 대규모 설비를 대신하여 가정이나 소규모 장소에서도 자동적인 실내 환경개선 시스템을 제공한다. 본 시스템은 공기 질과 CO2, 온도와 습도, 소음과 조도에 따른 상태분석과 함께 상대적 기준치를 적용하여 9가지의 상태에 따른 제어신호를 자동제어 모듈로 전송하여 실내 환경을 개선한다.

주거환경에서의 사용자 요구사항은 매우 다양하고 복잡한 연계관계를 갖고 있다. 근 미래의 u-Home시스템은 기존 사용자들의 요구 수용뿐만 아니라 U-home관련 신기술의 요구사항도 접목해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 사용자의 요구사항을 보다 효율적으로 시스템에 반영하기위해 사용자의 행위 데이터를 기반으로 요구유형을 분류하고 시스템 개발에 활용할 수 있도록 사용자 행위분석모형UBAF(User Behavior Analysis Framework)을 제안 하고자한다. UBAF는 SE에서의 시스템 모델링 방법과 HCI 관점의 사용자 모델링 방법을 접목한 개발 프레임워크이다. 이를 통해 u-Home에서 정형화된 방법으로 사용자들의 핵심행위를 시스템 개발에 적용할 수 있었다. 적용사례로 u-Home의 실내 온도 조절 시나리오를 분석하여 시스템 모델링과 사용자 행위를 지식화 하였다.
