  • A large amount of stone is required as a high-end strategy for building new construction and remodeling work, and aggregates have to be collected from many stone mountains due to the lack of river sand and gravel required for concrete production. This study examines the case of development of stone materials for construction, conduct and analyze residents' attitudes, find out residents' thoughts on stone mountain development, develops the area as an alternative to the devastation caused by stone mountain development, and recycles it as an efficient resource. We intend to conduct basic research to propose a plan. As a result, Local residents have a lot of antipathy against the use of quarry, so it is necessary to use the area that is far from the residents' areas as a quarry. It was concluded that it was desirable to restore and develop in the right direction.

  • EIFS system has the merit of low construction cost and shortening of construction period by easy-to-construct. For such reasons as mentioned above, it has been using across the board such as residential building, school, officetel, building remodeling and so on. It, however, has a drawback of generating plenty of combustible gases from styrofoam which is main material of it. In this regard, measures to prevent losses of life from combustible gases are needed urgently as fires on residential buildings applied EIFS caused human casualties resulted from combustible gases. With respect to the above, this study will analyze the risk of fires on residential facilities, such as multi-family apartment houses, schools and other buildings, applied EIFS which is the most frequently used as material of exterior wall and suggest countermeasure of it.

  • This study aims to find a direction for desirable space organization in future Korean kindergartens by analyzing the current status of space organization in Japanese kindergartens. This study includes comparisons and analyses of Korean and Japanese curricula, facility standards on the national level and standards of national subsidy, current numbers of kindergarteners and preschoolers, and changes in kindergarten facilities over the last 5 years. Six kindergartens each in Korea and Japan, which were constructed after 2011 or are recommended as being good in space organization and kindergarten planning, are selected. The contents of space organization analysis are 'entry and placement, outdoor space', 'space program,' and 'plan design and organization of unit space'. In conclusion, in terms of space organization, Korean and Japanese kindergartens are very similar to each other. However, Japanese kindergartens have more outdoor space about $9.75m^2$ and lot area about $11.89m^2$ than Korean kindergartens. The extra space was used to educate students in various contents regarding social network and physical activity. Furthermore, in Japan, special spaces such as "atelier classes" and "PTA" were used for various types of education. Based on the results of the study will be developed, such as specific models and guidelines for the improvement of facilities Korea kindergarten.

  • The purpose of this paper was to comparatively investigate the efficient building incentives in Korea and foreign countries and to seek strategies to enhance low energy building integrated design market infrastructure in Korea. The structure of incentive policies were composed of four main component: 1) types of financial aids and beneficiaries, 2) energy performance criteria and verification methods, 3) supports for low energy building integrated design, and 4) funding sources for incentive programs. Every overseas incentive program has adopted a design team incentive along with building owners incentive and the range of target buildings have been extended from new construction to remodeling projects. The main system of the program is the performance standard through which projects were investigated and the level of incentive are decided. Initially, the integrated performance has been investigated through simulation methods, but the construction performance evaluation and energy monitoring methods are emerging. In addition, the direct support and educational support for integrated design has been provided to enhance the foundation of relative markets. Financial funding is also a key component of the program and more aggressive funding strategies have been adopted.

  • The present study was to develop a dry PFB method similar to the existing gypsum board construction method in order to apply the existing wet PFB method that uses fire.resistant adhesive. It was found that the existing wet method can produce concrete compressive strength of 80MPa and fire resistance of 3 hours with 30mm PF boards. The goal of development in this study was fire resistance of 3 hours through dry construction of 15mm fire resistant boards. The results of fire resistance test showed an increase in thermal durability and thermal strain. It is believed that inorganic fiber reduces thermal strain, and lowers heat insulation performance by 15% or less. This suggests that heat insulation performance was improved by the change in the inner composition of PF board resulting from the adjustment of Al:Si mol ratio, high temperature molding, and dry curing. According to the results of fire resistance test, when the dry PF method was applied, the temperature of the main reinforcing bar was 116$^\circ$C in 15mm, 103.8$^\circ$C in 20mm, and 94$^\circ$C in 25mm, and these results satisfied the current standards for fire resistance control presented by the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs. When a 3 hour fire resistance test was performed and the external properties of the specimen were examined, the outermost gypsum board hardly remained and internal PF board maintained its form without thermal strain.

  • With the amendment to the Building Act in November of 2005 that offered incentives in terms of floor area ratio and number of stories to apartment buildings adopting the Rahmen structure to facilitate remodeling, the construction industry is paying more attention to PC structures. As connections between PC columns and beams require complex design, it is very difficult to install and remove forms. Since forms made of plywood for such connections are fabricated and installed on site, a significant amount of labor is required, and constructability is low. Furthermore, after concrete casting, the forms are removed in a state in which they cannot be recycled, which leads to a significant amount of construction waste. For this reason, a solution to address such issues needs to be studied. However, many researchers have focused only on the structural performance of PC structures in Korea and elsewhere, ignoring the need for research on the forms used in building PC structure connections. Therefore, this research aims to develop a form that can improve the productivity of PC structure connection construction, and compare it with conventional forms to highlight its contribution to gains in productivity and economic viability.

  • There are many results in which acoustical conditions of a classroom play an important role for studying effects and academic achievement of students. However, there are very few guidelines or design proposals which could make appropriate acoustic environment when classrooms are built or renovated. The present study suggests various design proposals satisfying acoustic standards of classrooms based on theoretical calculation and acoustic field experiments. At first, minimum area of sound absorption was calculated which is required to satisfy the acoustic standard for domestic middle and high schools. Also, room acoustic measurements were carried out in order to investigate the acoustic performance of an existing classroom by changing interior finishing materials on ceiling and rear walls. As a result, it was revealed that reverberation time standard below 0.8 s can be acquired even if there is no sound absorption on ceiling which is a general practice executed in Korea. Specially, it was found that if partial area of ceiling would be treated as reflective with the ratio of sound absorption and reflection as 2:1, almost similar acoustic parameters of $C_{50}$, $D_{50}$, RASTI (Rapid Speech Transmission Index) and higher sound levels could be acquired in comparison with the case of entire sound absorption on ceiling.

  • Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) promote long-life housing to reduce social costs generated by poorly considered rebuilding and extend the life-span of housing. Long-life housing has advantages of durability, floor plan variability, efficient maintenance and ease of remodeling because it is a beam-column structure building. However, long-life housing requires somewhat higher initial construction cost than wall type apartments. It makes increase of long-life housing more difficult. In this study, we compare between wall-type apartment and beam-column structure apartment from Life-Cycle Cost's viewpoint. As a result of the study, long-life housing incurs 18% higher initial cost than wall type apartment, but is 7% more economical than wall type apartment in terms of Life Cycle Cost. Therefore, it is shown that long-life housing could be a beneficial alternative to traditional wall type apartments.
