  • In this study, the positive thinking, academic self-efficacy, and school adjustment of freshman dental hygiene students were identified. The correlation between each variable was identified and the influencing factors were investigated. Data collection was conducted from October 1 to October 21, 2019 on 213 freshman dental hygiene students in Gyeonggi-do, Chungcheong-do, Jeolla-do, and Gyeongsang-do regions. According to the study, the significant influence of freshman dental hygiene students' school adjustment was in the order of academic self-efficacy, positive thinking, and career program experience, and the most influential factors were academic self-efficacy, and the regression model explained was 47.7%. Since this study has been investigated and conducted on some freshman dental hygiene students, there is a limit to generalizing the results, subsequent studies will require continuous study of various variables for positive thinking and academic self-efficiency to school adjustment. However, based on this study, it is meaningful that it can be used as data to supplement the prior study related to school adjustment, and by presenting factors related to the school adjustment of freshman dental hygiene students, it is thought that it became basic data that confirmed the necessity of developing the school adjustment program.

  • The purposes of this study were to measure the school-related adjustment level of technical high school students, and to determine the relationship between school-related adjustment and its related variables. The study was carried out through questionnaire survey method. The population sample for the study constituted 553 completed questionnaires from purposive sample of 600 first grade technical high school students. A survey questionnaire was developed by researcher, which consisted of 28 scales. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were employed for data analysis. Major findings of this study were as follows: First, school-related adjustment level of technical high school students was average. In sub-variables of school-related adjustment, 'compliance with the rule' was the highest, and 'relation to teacher' was the lowest. Second, five related variables were found to be a significant relationship with school-related adjustment level of technical high school students. They were 'orientation for freshman', 'student's department hope', 'teacher activity for student learning improvement', 'teacher support for student school life', 'parent's interest about school life'. Third, after multiple regression analysis, the proportion of the variance in school-related adjustment of technical high school students was about 42.2%. School-related adjustment of technical high school students was most explained by 'teacher activity for student learning improvement'.

For research subjects, 31 enrolled freshmen and 5 professors from a college in Chungbuk were selected. In terms of research tools, 'Communication Competence Assessment Sheet' provided by Strategic Cultural Curriculum Development Team and a simple questionnaire on 'curriculum satisfaction, adaptation to school and intimacy' were applied. For data analysis, paired t-test, independent samples t-test and rating scale were conducted. The study results found the followings: First, according to analysis on the effects of two different types of team teaching on the goal of strategic cultural curriculum('improvement of communication competence'), significant effects were found in a standard curriculum(textbook)-centered team. Second, when adaptation to a school life(school adaptation, intimacy) perceived by the students who completed the strategic cultural curriculum according to two different types of team teaching curriculum was analyzed, significant changes were found at standard textbook-centered guidance team. Third, this study has examined other changes, satisfaction, opinions and perception(strength, weakness, opinions for improvement) on the curriculum perceived by the students(learners) and faculty regarding about team teaching curriculum. Based on these results, educational implications of this study were reviewed. And a suggestion and limits were presented.

  • Admissions officer system was introduced in an effort to reject the score-oriented competition and select students on the basis of their individual potential and capacity. The admissions officer system, which was first introduced into the college entrance examination for the 2008 school year in Korea, has been operated by expanding the recruiting level up to 11.8% of the number of the students to be admitted by all colleges. The aim of this study is to analyze the performance of the admissions officer system by analyzing the true picture of school life led by the students singled out through admissions officer screening, and further to inquire into the substantial plan to support the students, who were selected through the admissions officer system, for their successful college life while displaying their potential and capacity As a result of doing research on this, it was found that the freshmen selected through admissions officer screening showed more positive responses in all measurement variables this study selected, such as school adaptability, school satisfaction, and career maturity, learning attitude than other students screened in a different way; in addition, school adaptability and school satisfaction came out as significantly high variables statistically. However, they showed insufficiency in the attitude in class from the behavioral aspect in learning attitude. This study made a suggestion that it's necessary for systematic support and management program to be mapped out and provided in order for the students selected through admissions officer screening to improve their learning attitude as they inspire themselves with school adaptability and school satisfaction.
