  • The purpose of this research was to investigate the effects of vestibule-oriented sensory integration treatment on the nystagmus, visual perception and balancing ability of children with developmental disability. Twenty three children with developmental disability were participated in this experiment. Subjects were received the vestibule-oriented sensory integration treatment based on Ayres' sensory integration theory for 12 weeks. The effects of the treatment were evaluated by Southern California Postrotary Nystagmus Test (SCPNT), Developmental Test of Visual Perception-2 (DTVP-2), Pediatric-Clinical Test of Sensory Integration Balance (P-CTSIB), South California Sensory Integration Test (SCSIT) and the selected item in Bruininks-Oeretsky Test of motor proficiency (BOT). The collected data were analyzed by using Wilcoxon test. The result of this study was as follows that the data of the Nystagmus shown statical significant. The data of the Visual Perception and Balancing ability shown statical significant. The proposed vestibule-oriented sensory integration treatment was effective to improvement of nystagmus, the visual perception and the balancing ability in children with Developmenantal Disability.

  • Along with the development of creative building design ideas, how to effectively sign design concepts is also an important consideration on environmental design. The research goals established in order to solve these problems are to develop structures of sign design and analyze the cases of it. This paper explains structures of sign design in two ways: the compositional elements of signs and the relationships of visual perception. Among various relationships among sign design compositional elements this study uses relationships based on the Gestalt theory, the balance theory by Rudolf Arnheim, and the optical away theory by Gibson. The design principles investigated on the basis of the visual perception theories include the relationships between compositional elements and background space, visual weight balance, horizontal and vertical balances, grouping, and visual layout patterns

  • This paper aims to maximize the exhibition effect and to emphasize the efficiency of sample information transfer by using the surrealism dephase network technique and beam projection mapping by aesthetically approaching the arrangement of the existing exhibition specimens in the science museum using natural history contents. It presents the limitations of the existing analog natural history sample information transmission in digital form to give viewers interesting and fun and suggests the direction of using digital diorama for sample exhibition.

  • According to Gestalt theories of perception, this paper studies Japanese-style character design combined with ghost culture. This article sorts out the character design elements of the Japanese mobile game "Onmyoji" in China, and then analyzes the design from the perspective of psychology through Gestalt theories. The form is felt through the systematization of the whole rather than the parts, confirming whether the small design elements of the character can be perceived as the whole story.

  • As the marketing value of Facebook advertisements increases, companies seek to create successful Facebook advertisements in order to promote their brands or products. This research aims to identify Facebook advertising factors that influence users' eye movements and attention, and thereby to investigate effective visual elements of Facebook advertising contents. Firstly, we identified two contributing factors influencing users' responses to Facebook advertisements: the formats of advertising contents(Text, Text in Image, and Movie) and the product properties(Involvement, Think/Feel). Based on theoretical reviews, eye tracking tests and surveys were conducted in order to examine how these two factors affect users' responses on Facebook, i.e. visual perception and users' purchasing responses. It was found that there were distinctive patterns of users' visual perceptions and purchasing behavioral responses according to the formats of the advertised contents. Meanwhile, the advertised products' properties influenced only the users' purchasing responses. Finally, the key findings of this research offer helpful guidelines for providers and developers to create effective SNS advertisements.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the Korean science magazine, Science Donga providing scientific facts, phenomenons, and issues with infographic for the readers by time series analysis and to search for the application of infographic on the science education. The criteria for the infographic analysis of Science Donga consisted of three categories such as storytelling type, visual perception, and framework level because infographic presents complex information quickly and clearly by integrating various images, words, and graphics. We found that the articles emphasized by including image about science issue have been published from 1986 to 2014. Particularly, after 2008, the articles including infographic sharply rose. So we set up 2008 as $T_c$(Critical time point). The articles including infographic after 2008 have been more variously distributed and frequently used in storytelling types category such as location, time, number, connection, function, and process based infographic, in visual perception of Gestalt Theory such as proximity, similarity, continuation, and closure than before 2008. Lastly, in framework level category, location, time, number, and process based infographic mainly had total range level but function and connection based infographic changed in the framework level. The three features about storytelling type, visual perception, framework level are important changes to influence $T_c$ in the infographic analysis about Science Donga. Through the results of this study, we analyzed the feature of change on infographic from 1986 to 2014. Thus, we hope that the results suggest a basic criteria for making materials including infographic in science education.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of visual properties on the human movement behavior experimentally and empirically using spatial analysis technique based on ecological perception theory. For the survey of choosing behaviors of heading direction in built environments, the experiment was conducted in which the subjects were made to choose moving directions in some spaces using the virtual environment simulation tool, and then comparative analysis was conducted on the interrelation between the experiment results and various visual properties in existing spatial analysis techniques based on ecological perception theory. As a result, the occlusivity of the isovist theory was found to be the most significant index in the human choice of heading direction, and the longest radial also showed somewhat significant effect on it.

  • Visual perception is part of a field of study that examines the analysis and recognition of objects. There have been numerous studies on this topic, including research on the physiological and cognitive aspects of the visual system. Visual perception theory was established through such research efforts and the potential for its application in each field is being investigated. Mobile displays are a representative example of media in the new age. Therefore, this study is based on the understanding that research on visual perception must stress the importance of useful visual cognition. This study used displays to conduct legibility tests based on illumination intensity and contrast ratio. Two conditions relevant to legibility were tested 1) illumination intensity environment and 2) two luminance conditions proposed as measures to improve readability in existing mobile displays. The results of this study were analysed to determine the degree of legibility based on illumination intensity and contrast ratio, and measures for improving legibility were proposed.

  • The existential space concept which introduced the sense of place that began emerging recently together with the change of space concept results from people's fundamental existential humane aspect as the subject of perceptive experience. The tendencies of enlargement layering and diversification which we can see in contemporary architecture imply the possibility that elements of urban image can be incorporated into interior design. This study utilizes Kevin Lynch's theory which tries to relate environment to existential space. In this study we re-analyze and apply Lynch's $\ulcorner$the Theory of Urban Image$\lrcorner$to interior space and using the conclusion from a case study examine the applicability of the theory about visual perception to interior design. This study considers a new method of analysis to perceive and grasp interior space through the understanding of the cognitive map and image concept.
