The Effect of Entrepreneurship and Market-orientation on the Performance of Medium and Small-sized Enterprise (중소기업의 기업가정신과 시장지향성이 재무적·비재무적성과에 미치는 영향)

  • This research attempts to focus on the role of entrepreneurship and market-orientation on firm performance in perspective of medium and small-sized firms. To accomplish the purposes of this research, 500 entrepreneurs in Kyungnam and Ulsan area has been designated as a research object and finally a total of 182 questionnaires were analyzed by using PLS 2.0. The results from this study are as follows: First of all, the hypothesis regarding the influence of entrepreneurship on firm performance was rejected. Secondly, the hypothesis about the role of market-orientation was accepted. Finally, the effect of entrepreneurship on market-orientation was accepted. We outlined implication for theory and practice and suggested research limitation and future research based on research conclusion.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the mediated effects of entrepreneurship and market orientation on organizational culture and management performance as the cause of the reversal phenomenon of startups defeating traditional giants. Through the research method of bootstrapping proposed by Hayes (2013), the total effect, direct effect and indirect effect analysis were conducted. As a result, there was no direct impact relationship between organizational culture and management performance, but it was confirmed that it had a positive impact on management performance by mediating both entrepreneurial behavior and market orientation in the relationship between organizational culture and management performance. This study is meaningful in that it is linked to existing theories such as entrepreneurship and market orientation and it extends the scope of competency targets required for business performance to an organizational culture. Companies need to create an innovation-oriented organizational culture for management performance and value creation, and they have to open up their culture with entrepreneurial behavior and market orientation by breaking away from the inertia of organization.

  • 이 연구의 목적은 창업보육센터 입주기업 CEO의 기업가정신 및 시장지향성이 경영성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하고 창업보육센터 지원서비스의 활용정도를 통해 경영성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하는데 있다. 이 목적을 달성하기 위하여 서울권에 위치한 창업보육 센터를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 얻어진 연구 결과를 분석하고 창업보육센터 입주기업의 지원서비스 활용정도가 경영성과에 어느 정도 영향을 미치고, 입주기업의 지원 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

The Effects of M-CRM Characteristics, Market Orientation on Customer Loyalty and the Moderating Role of Relationship Length in Insurance Companies (보험기업의 M-CRM 특성과 시장지향성이 고객충성도에 미치는 영향: 관계기간의 조절효과)

  • This paper aims to examine structural relationship between the influence factors of customer loyalty, hypothesizing that m-CRM characteristics, market orientations, relationship quality and relationship length plays a crucial role in achieving customer loyalty in insurance companies. Total of 255 valid sample data were used to test study hypotheses. By using Structure Equation Modeling(SEM) method, the results show that m-CRM characteristics and customer orientation significantly influence to relationship quality except competitor orientation and all relationship quality are very significantly influence to customer loyalty being consisted of customer retention and word of mouth effect. In addition, the modulation effect of relationship length is confirmed about relationship between relationship quality and customer loyalty. A real situation we conducted our research may enable academics and practitioners to understand the antecedents and outcomes of m-CRM implementation in terms of market orientation.

  • This study investigates how entrepreneurial orientation and absorptive capacity influence strategic capabilities (technology, marketing, and market-linking capabilities), as well as how strategic capabilities affect performance in Korean export venture firms. To analyze this empirically, we hypothesized the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation, absorptive capacity, strategic capabilities, and firm performance based on an existing resource-based review and empirical literatures. We collected data using questionnaires and used a partial least squares (PLS) structural equation model for hypothesis testing. The following results were obtained from the empirical analysis. First, entrepreneurial orientation has a significant positive impact on absorptive capacity. Second, entrepreneurial orientation has a significant positive effect on technology, marketing, and market-linking capabilities. Third, absorptive capacity has a significant positive influence on technology, marketing, and market-linking capabilities. Fourth, technology and marketing capabilities have a significant positive effect on firm performance. However, market-linking capabilities have no significant influence on firm performance.

The Impact of Entrepreneurship of Franchisees on Their Business Performance : Mediation Effects of Market Orientation and Relationship Commitment (프랜차이즈 가맹점의 창업정신이 경영성과에 미치는 영향 : 본사의 시장지향성과 가맹점 관계몰입의 매개효과)

  • This research suggests an ideal role between franchisee and franchisee for survival and development of the Korean franchise business by identifying causal relationships between entrepreneurship of franchisees and their business performance. Besides, when considering multi-dimensional features of a franchise system, this study aims to show that the market orientation of the franchisee and the relationship commitment between franchisee and franchisee will play an important mediating role to achieve a better business performance. Thus specific causal relationships among sub-dimensional constructs of entrepreneurship and market orientations were investigated. They are innovativeness, risk-taking propensity, pro-activeness, information creation, intelligence generation, intelligence dissemination, response design, response implementation. The results demonstrate that pro-activeness of franchisee plays a crucial role for franchisee's business performance. It was noted that franchisor's market orientation and innovativeness is also important for high market orientation of franchisor. The higher the market orientation of franchisor was, the higher relationship commitment of franchisee was formed. By identifying the mediation effect of relationship commitment and market orientation of franchisor, this paper showed that relationship commitment positively affect the improvement of franchisee's business performance. Above all, it should be noted that this research empirically identified the relationship between franchisee's entrepreneurship and business performance that most of the previous researchers have ignored. Furthermore, the analysis was conducted at sub-dimensional construct level. It is expected that empirical results from this study will be able to provide a meaningful framework and theoretical basis for future research on franchise, entrepreneurship and market orientation.

  • 본 연구는 자원의존이론, 거래비용이론, 관계계약이론 등의 선행연구를 검토하여 건설업계에서 관계지향성을 행동적 구성요인으로 개념정립하고, 관계지향성에 대한 영향요인 및 관계지향성 행동의 성과변수를 밝히고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 행동변수로서의 관계지향성 개념을 정립하기 위해 정보교환, 조화노력, 협동적 규범, 업무적 결속을 사용하였다. 연구표본은 C지역의 전문건설업체를 대상으로 하였다. 실증분석결과에서 단일차원의 관계지향성 개념을 식별하였다.

An Exploratory Study on the Hierarchical Model of Consumer Orientation

  • This study aims to stratify consumer market evaluation items from the Consumer Decision Journey(CDJ) perspective and understand the relationship between laws/systems and consumer orientation through the Korea Consumer Agency's '19 Korea Consumer Markets Evaluation Indicators. This study divided consumer market evaluation items into the selection comparison stage, selection decision stage, and post-purchase experience stage. And present a model that stratified the relationship with consumer orientation of laws/systems and verified using the CDJ model's experience as a control variable. Studies have shown that the relationship between the consumer market evaluation index that evaluates consumer orientation can be stratified according to the consumer decision-making stage and positively affects the relationship with consumer orientation of laws/systems. In addition, the impact of consumer market evaluation variables (reliability, and price) on the consumer orientation of laws/systems was different depending on the presence or absence of consumer damage experience.

The Study on the Effects of Technology Orientation and Market Orientation on Managerial Performance in Innopolis Start-ups: Focusing on the Moderating Effects of Marketing and R&D Expenses (연구소기업의 기술지향성과 시장지향성이 경영성과에 미치는영향: 마케팅 및 연구개발 비용의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • As a result of significant investments by the government in promoting public technology commercialization and fostering a venture startup ecosystem, there have been quantitative achievements, such as the registration of over 1,600 Innopolis Start-ups since 2006, generating a total revenue of 1.1 trillion won as of 2021. However, these achievements have been overshadowed by critical qualitative challenges, including a continuous decline in average revenue per Innopolis Start-up. This led to a focus on whether managers' technological and market orientations affect business performance. This study aims to provide insights into improving the qualitative growth of Innopolis Start-ups by analyzing the effects of technological and market orientations on business performance, as well as the moderating effects of adjusting marketing and research and development (R&D) costs on this relationship. Through prior research and empirical analysis, this study derives three main findings. First, technological excellence and innovation significantly influence the business performance of Innopolis Start-ups, while technological intensity does not. Second, customer orientation and competitive orientation significantly impact business performance, whereas entry barriers as a single factor do not. Third, adjusting marketing and R&D costs, as controlled variables obtained through general situations, has no direct impact on other variables. However, it interacts with entry barriers, influencing financial business performance, with R&D costs exhibiting a negative buffering effect and marketing costs showing a positive enhancing effect. This study confirms that both technological and market orientations directly influence the business performance of Innopolis Start-ups, thus being crucial factors affecting their growth. Moreover, it establishes that investments in marketing and R&D play significant roles in alleviating initial entry barriers and enhancing financial performance. Consequently, it underscores the importance of reinforcing technological and market orientations tailored to the characteristics of Innopolis Start-ups. Additionally, it proposes five theoretical contributions: strengthening institutional support systems for technology commercialization and innovation, improving qualitative evaluation criteria during the selection process of Innopolis Start-ups, conducting comprehensive analyses of technological and market aspects during startup selection, enhancing support for marketing education and consulting for smooth market entry, and supporting expenditure strategies and milestone setting tailored to the industrial characteristics of individual Innopolis Start-ups.

의류업체의 시장지향성, 판매원의 직무능력이 판매원 만족에 미치는 영향

  • 고객의 가치를 창조해나가기 위해 고객을 중시하 는 시장지향적인 기업문화가 확산되며, 이와 함께 판 매현장 최일선에서 고객을 직접 응대하며 기업의 시 장지향성을 실현하고 고객을 관리하는 패션판매원의 중요성이 높아지고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 시장지향 적인 기업문화와 판매원의 중요성이 높아짐에 따라 본 연구는 의류업체의 시장 지향성의 유형을 밝히고, 이러한 시장지향적 노력이 판매원의 능력과 함께 의류업체의 판매원의 만족에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 이들의 규명을 통해 궁극적으 로 기업의 성과에 기여하는 판매원 만족에 영향을 미치는 시장지향성의 유형과 판매원의 능력 유형을 밝혀 의류업체의 시장지향적 기업문화 실현에 기여 하고자 하였다. 설문지를 이용한 실증적인 조사연구방법이 사용 되었고, 연구대상은 서울과 분당에 위치한 L백화점의 여성복 의류매장에 근무하고 있는 삽마스터 600 명을 대상으로 하였다. 선행연구를 근거로 하고 의류 업체에 맞게 수정 보완한 질문지를 사용하여, 최종 분석된 설문지는 547부이다. 자료분석은 SPSS pc + 8.0올 이용하여 빈도분석, 백분율, 요인분석, 중다회 귀분석을 사용하였다. 수거된 질문지를 통계처리 한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 의류업체의 시장지향성을 요인분석한 결과 '시장정보의 획득'시장정보의 확산', '시장정보에 대 한 반응'의 세 요인으로 나눌 수 있었다. 시장정보를 획득하는 활동에는 매장의 소비자조사. POS시스템 의 활용. 삽마스터 회의에의 관심, 경쟁 브랜드 조사 그리고 판매사원을 통한 고객의 반응 조사 등의 내 용이 포함된다. 시장정보를 확산시키고자하는 활동 에는 매장에서 본사로 상황을 보고하고, 고껴의 시정 요구를 해결하고자 하는 노력. 판매원이 제시하는 소 비자동향의 반영, 그리고 삽마스터 회의 등씩 내용이 포함되며, 시장정보에 대한 반응은 풍부한 물량공급 과 히트상품의 지속적인 공급을 활동 내용으로 한다' 둘째, 의류업체의 시장지향성은 판매원의 만족도 에 정적인 영향을 나타냈다. 이는 의류업체가 시장정 보 수집에 적극적이고, 매장과 긴밀한 정보교류를 하 며, 수집된 정보를 적극 활용하여 상품개발이나 공급 등의 노력을 보일 때 판매원이 회사에 대해 강한 신 뢰감을 느껴 만족감을 느끼게 되고 이것이 바로 성 과로 이어질 수 있는 것을 의미한다. 셋째, 판매원의 회사전략 인지능력, 의류제조과정 인지능력. 고객서버스 능력, 자율적인 목표설정 능력. 고정고객관리능력이 클수록 직무자체와 인간관계에 대한 만족도가 높게 나타나 판매원의 직무한력은 판 매원의 만족에 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이 는 의류업체에서 능력 있는 판매원을 육성하거나 영 입하는데 힘써야 함을 시사하는 결과이다.
