Vocabulary Recognition Performance Improvement using a convergence of Bayesian Method for Parameter Estimation and Bhattacharyya Algorithm Model (모수 추정을 위한 베이시안 기법과 바타차랴 알고리즘을 융합한 어휘 인식 성능 향상)

  • The Vocabulary Recognition System made by recognizing the standard vocabulary is seen as a decline of recognition when out of the standard or similar words. In this case, reconstructing the system in order to add or extend a range of vocabulary is a way to solve the problem. This paper propose configured Bhattacharyya algorithm standing by speech recognition learning model using the Bayesian methods which reflect parameter estimation upon the model configuration scalability. It is recognized corrected standard model based on a characteristic of the phoneme using the Bayesian methods for parameter estimation of the phoneme's data and Bhattacharyya algorithm for a similar model. By Bhattacharyya algorithm to configure recognition model evaluates a recognition performance. The result of applying the proposed method is showed a recognition rate of 97.3% and a learning curve of 1.2 seconds.

  • Photocatalytic treatment of aqueous cyanide was studied using both commercial and home-made $TiO_2$'s as catalysts. Among the catalysts, $TiO_2$ made from $Ti(OC_3H_7)_4$ as a precursor showed the highest activity for the degradation of cyanide exceeding a commercial catalyst of Degussa P25. The difference in activities of the catalysts was mainly related to the surface properties of the catalysts such as the ratio of acidic to basic hydroxyl groups. For the catalyst which showed the highest activity, partially reduced $TiO_2$ showed better activity than calcined one.

  • 인체접촉시 니켈도금의 알러지 반응을 억제하기 위한 대체 도금기술인 비 시안계 Cu-Sn 합금도금을 개발함에 있어서, 황산구리5수화물과 황산제일주석을 금속염으로 하여 황산 및 계면활성제, 유화제 등을 포함한 각종 유기첨가제를 포함하였고 특히 은백색조의 외관 색상과 안정적인 Cu-Sn 합금전착을 위해 2종의 착화제인 EDTP($C_{14}H_{32}N_2O_4$)와 TEA(Triethanolamine)를 첨가한 비 시안계 Cu-Sn 합금 도금액을 도출하였다. Cu-Sn 합금도금 피막 조성의 균일화를 도모하기 위해서는 합금 도금액중의 Cu와 Sn 금속이온 농도를 일정하게 유지하는 것이 필요하다. 그러나 합금 도금액중 2가 주석이온($Sn^{2+}$)은 수용액중에서 4가 주석이온($Sn^{4+}$)으로 산화됨으로써 도금액 색상이 백탁이 되고 Stannic Hydroxide($Sn(OH)_4$, $SnO_2{\cdot}2H_2O$)이 생성되어 대량의 침전물이 침강하는 문제점이 발생되는 등 시간 경과에 따른 도금액의 경시 변화가 발생되었다. 상기 침전물은 연속여과에 의해 제거 가능하나 합금 도금액중 $Sn^{2+}$ 농도가 지속적으로 감소하게 된다. 이는 합금 도금액중 금속이온 비율이 변동함으로써 합금도금 피막의 조성비를 일정하게 유지하는 것이 곤란해진다. 이에 $Sn^{4+}$ 침전물 생성을 방지하기 위한 산화방지제를 개발하고 또한 산화방지제의 첨가에 따른 도금 피막 외관에 미치는 영향을 평가하여 외관 개선을 위한 광택제를 개발하고자 한다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 니켈도금과 동등 이상의 기능 특성을 갖는 비시안계 Cu-Sn 합금도금액을 개발하여 실용화하는 것을 목적으로 하였다.

  • Naive Bayesian learning has been widely used in many data mining applications, and it performs surprisingly well on many applications. However, due to the assumption that all attributes are equally important in naive Bayesian learning, the posterior probabilities estimated by naive Bayesian are sometimes poor. In this paper, we propose more fine-grained weighting methods, called value weighting, in the context of naive Bayesian learning. While the current weighting methods assign a weight to each attribute, we assign a weight to each attribute value. We investigate how the proposed value weighting effects the performance of naive Bayesian learning. We develop new methods, using gradient descent method, for both value weighting and feature weighting in the context of naive Bayesian. The performance of the proposed methods has been compared with the attribute weighting method and general Naive bayesian, and the value weighting method showed better in most cases.

Intradermal Alcian-Blue Injection Method to Trace Acupuncture Meridians (경락추적을 위한 피내 알시안 블루 주입방법)

  • Objective In this article, we report on the intradermal Alcian blue staining method for tracing the meridians of acupuncture. Methods 1% Alcian blue solution was injected into acupoints by using a 0.5mL insulin syringe with a 31-gauge needle, then the skin was incised and was observed under a stereoscopic microscope. The specimens were examined by using immunohistochemical methods and were observed under a confocal laser scanning microscope. Results A threadlike structure, which was visualized with Alcian blue, existed in dermis layer and proceeded to hypodermis. In this structure, characteristic alignments of rod- shaped nuclei and $1-2{\mu}m$ sized DNA granules were observed. Furthermore, abundant blood capillary plexuses, peripheral nerve endings, and a corpuscle-like structure(about $300{\mu}m$ in diameter) were visualized in the skin tissues of acupoints. Conclusion It was concluded that the specific threadlike and corpuscle-like structures corresponded to superficial Bonghan duct and corpuscle, respectively.

Proposing the Methods for Accelerating Computational Time of Large-Scale Commute Time Embedding (대용량 컴뮤트 타임 임베딩을 위한 연산 속도 개선 방식 제안)

  • Commute time embedding involves computing the spectral decomposition of the graph Laplacian. It requires the computational burden proportional to $o(n^3)$, not suitable for large scale dataset. Many methods have been proposed to accelerate the computational time, which usually employ the Nystr${\ddot{o}}$m methods to approximate the spectral decomposition of the reduced graph Laplacian. They suffer from the lost of information by dint of sampling process. This paper proposes to reduce the errors by approximating the spectral decomposition of the graph Laplacian using that of the affinity matrix. However, this can not be applied as the data size increases, because it also requires spectral decomposition. Another method called approximate commute time embedding is implemented, which does not require spectral decomposition. The performance of the proposed algorithms is analyzed by computing the commute time on the patch graph.

  • People are experiencing severe navigation problems in mobile site Relatively limited research, however, has been conducted on mobile site navigation compared to web site navigation. This research aims to identify efficient mobile site navigation aids for timely preferred contents. It proposed timely menu system based on statistic data, and evaluates its efficiency through commercial beta test. We conducted a beta test in the fourth quarter of the year 2007. The total number of user is 12,000. The average number of PV (page view) by the experimental group was increased to 10% more than control group. Our results indicate that timely menu system helps people navigate mobile menu system more effectively.

  • In this paper, we present the bit error performances of 4PSK and 8PSK signal transmission schemes using Maximal Ratio Combining diversity reception for m-distribution and Rician fading channels. The suitability of modeling a Rician fading environment by a properly chosen m-distribution model is examined. Using the error performance of the derived equation has been evaluated and shown in figures as a function of fading index (m), Rician factor (K), diversity branches number (L) and E($E_b/N_o$). It is found that MRC (Maximal Ratio Combining) diversity technique is very efficient for reducing the effects of fading, And then, diversity benifit much large as depth of fading becomes deeper but more decreases as many diversity branchs. Also the results show that the error performance corresponds as much as fading becomes weak and increases with the number diversty branches.

  • The prediction accuracy of prestress plays an important role in the quality of maintenance and the decision on rehabilitation of infrastructure such as prestressed concrete bridges. In this paper, the Bayesian statistical method that uses in-situ measurement data for reducing the uncertainties or updating long-term prediction of prestress is presented. For Bayesian analysis, prior probability distribution is developed to represent the uncertainties of creep and shrinkage of concrete and likelihood function is derived and used with data acquired in site. Posterior probability distribution is then obtained by combining prior distribution and likelihood function. The numerical results of this study indicate that more accurate long-term prediction of prestress forces due to creep and shrink age is possible.

  • This paper has considered the location estimation problem in two dimension space by using a non-linear filter under non-Gaussian noise in underwater acoustic sensor networks(UASNs). Recently, the extended Kalman filter (EKF) is widely used in location estimation. However, the EKF has a lot of problems in the non-linear system under the non-gaussian noise environment like underwater environment. In this paper, we propose the improved Two-Dimension Particle Filter (TDPF) using the re-interpretation distribution techniques based on the maximum likelihood (ML). Through the simulation, we compared and analyzed the proposed TDPF with the EKF under the non-Gaussian underwater sensor networks. Finally, we determined that the TDPF's result shows more accurate localization than EKF's result.
