Currently food-borne disease is being increased at outdoor food services including hotels and restaurants. Speedy and convenient practical monitoring techniques to determine hygienic conditions are needed. This study was designed to verify correlation of direct ATP (Adenosine Tri-Phosphate) examination method using ATP bioluminescence and surveillance with check-list by inspector. Hygienic status of personal hygiene (hands), kitchen utensils (knives, chopping boards, kitchen towels, cap openers, food storage containers, and blade of slice machines), facilities and equipments (refrigerator handles, worktables, and sinks) in five major hotels in Seoul were examined. The result of personal hygiene of hotels was relatively better than other inspection items (46.6 points in personal hygiene, 40.2 points in kitchen utensils, 40.3 points in facilities & equipments). In ATP inspection, kitchen utensils and facilities & equipments were relatively clean comparing with personal hands data ($40.8{\pm}6.77\;RLU/cm^2$). After correlation analysis of surveillance in hygienic status points and ATP value, all results showed negative and high correlation. The surveillance data and ATP results investigating personal hygiene, kitchen utensils and facilities & equipments were highly correlated. The ATP examination method which shows real-time identification could be considered as an appropriate method to alternate current check-list dependent safety management in food services including hotels.
For the purpose of evaluating the availability of manifold safety devices installed in the LPG(Liquefied Petroleum Gas) refuelling stations, the quantitative analysis of the frequency on BLEVE(Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapor Explosion) scenario was performed. The amount of frequency reduction was the way of assessing safety devices availability. In this analysis, we could find out what sorts of safety devices are essential to satisfy acceptable social risk criteria and are prioritized to install in the future.
Rapid growth in nanotechnology promise novel benefits through the exploitation of their unique industrial applications. However, as increasing of production amount of nanomaterials, their unintentional exposure to the environment has been caused. Therefore, there is a need for effective management of nanowaste to the sustainable nanotechnology. One possible endpoint at the environmental exposure scenario for nanowaste treatment is incineration. Although a few study on the incineration of nanomaterials was reported, pioneering researchers found that although it is possible to incinerate nanowaste without releasing nanoparticles into the atmosphere, the residues (bottom ash or slag) with nanomaterials eventually end up in landfills. Though there are still many questions to understand the fate of nanomaterials in incinerator, firstly we have to study whether nanowaste treatment via incineration is safe to human and environment.
The Basic Environmental Policy Act (BEPA) (Law No. 4257 effective 1. August 1990) sets forth the basic policies and administrative framework for environmental preservation, leaving more detailed regulations, and emission controls to separate laws targeting air, water, and solid waste, etc. The BEPA Article 31 adopts an unprecedented strict liability standard for damages as an absolute liability. The BEPA Article 31 provides for liability as follows. If a company is alleged to have caused damage through pollution of the environment, it will be liable for damages unless it can show that the pollution did not cause damages, or that it did not actually cause pollution. If the company did cause pollution, and if the pollution is the cause for the damages in question, the company will be liable irrespective of whether it was negligent or otherwise at fault. If there are two or more companies involved in the pollution, but it is unclear which company caused the damages, all of the companies will be jointly and severally liable for the damages. In this paper, the author attempts to uncover the problems of BEPA Article 31 and then seeks desirable amendments by comparing it to the German Environmental Liability Act. First, it will be necessary to provide definitions of 'companies etc.'. Second, it will be necessary to enumerate the kinds of company facilities. Third, it will be necessary to provide exclusionary clauses on material damages. Fourth, it will be necessary to show 'presumption of cause and effect'. Fifth, it will be necessary to provide a clause on 'right to information'. Sixth, it will be necessary to provide a clause for force majeure. Seventh, it will be necessary to take measures to secure abundant liability for damages which can be caused by the owner of the facility, the potential polluter. Finally, it is appropriate that Korea now legislate an Environmental Liability Act akin to the German Environmental Liability Act.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the elderly long-term care workers' job stress on psychological burnout and organizational effectiveness and the moderating role of social support. For this study, data were collected from 290 long-term caregivers from 50 in-home visitation care facilities in Seoul using structured questionnaires. Collected data were analyzed using hierarchical regression techniques. Results showed that role three job stress variables had positive effects on caregivers' psychological burnout; that two job stress variables(role ambiguity and role conflict) and psycholigcal burnout had negaive effects on caregivers' job satisfaction whereas they had positive effects on caregivers' intent to leave; that workload negatively impacted caregivers' job satisfaction but no effect on their intent to leave; and that two social support variables played moderating roles in the relationship between job stress and psychological burnout and the relationship between job stress and organizational effectiveness.
The purpose of this study is to grope for the improving the management in order that Korea community centers may put better welfare services to community residents. Community welfare center is a professional social welfare agency that meets welfare needs of community residents by offering synthetical and various welfare services in community according to social, economical, cultural, regional background. Community welfare center was established for clearing up the conflict between social classes after Industrial Revolution in England, for solving problems of women movement and immigration in America, for different purpose in other countries. But there is no difference between countries in the sense of welfare services activities centering around poor community though each purpose are different. It can be known that community center must perform the function as social welfare professional agency which aimed at community care program. Resource which are needed for management of community center are mostly in community and community center must strive to get resources which are in community. But all the weakness of finance and facility which community center has may not be solved by using community resources. Community welfare center is not fixated yet in Korea. And community residents has little understanding of community center. Thus national financial support is needed. Actually community has difficulty to mobilize community resource. The problem is how to carry out this national financial support effectively and going on study about this problem is needed.
Through inductive content analysis, this study sought to examine the crisis experienced by the institution, the quality of service, and the distrust of the system and institution based on the experience of distrust in the home-visiting care service of bbeneficiary and guardians. FGI was conducted on five managers of institutions that provide home-visiting care services. As a result, the central phenomenon was found: deterioration of service quality, distrust of systems and institutions, and difficulties in opera-ting long-term care institutions. In order to improve the quality of home-visited care services and build trust in care workers and institutions, first, home-based associations or operating corporations should develop new education program plans and manuals to strengthen the capabilities of care workers and social workers. Second, the NHIS's monitoring system and the professional management system of care workers should be established. Third, it is necessary to improve awareness of the role, expertise, and rights of care workers, and fourth, improvement measures are required to reduce the turnover rate of care workers, which is the cause of the deterioration of the quality of long-term care services.
This study analyzed the impact of direct and indirect subsidies on profitability in general hospitals in Korea. The data were collected from medical institution accounting information disclosure system of 270 general hospitals from 2016 to 2018. The analysis index used the ratio of net profit to business revenue for profitability, and Subsidies index the ratio of subsidies to business revenue(state subsidies for facility investment purposes, Fund related to essential business, research revenue and contribution revenue). According to the study, the ratio of state subsidies, which are direct subsidies, was very high at 57.30 percent for public institution hospitals. ratio of Fund related to essential business, which is a tax reduction effect with indirect subsidies, had the highest at 6.69 percent for Private University Hospitals. which are Indirect subsidies for deficit or operational assistance, research revenue ratio had the highest 2.8 percent for National University Hospitals, contribution revenue ratio had the highest 36.4 percent for public institutions. As a result of looking at the impact of subsidies on profitability, Nation University Hospitals had the lower the ratio of Fund related to essential business and the ratio of research revenue, the higher the net profit ratio of Business revenue. Medical Corporation Hospitals and Foundation Hospitals had the higher the ratio of Fund related to essential business to business revenues, the higher the net profit ratio of business revenue. These results mean that profitability may fluctuate depending on the utilization of funds related to essential business.

Recently, the frequency and magnitude of the earthquake have increased. The structural safety of the public facilities such as bridges and tunnels etc. which were not concerned for earthquake resistant design are increased. Fiber reinforcement polymer that has been frequently studied for seismic retrofit has advantage as seismic reinforcement material, but it has disadvantage of the brittleness. Therefore, the investigation of safety and seismic reinforcement are required. In this study, new FRP-ductile material layered composites proposed to seismic performance reinforced of subway tunnel. Tensile test of FRP-ductile material layered composites showed that Maximum tensile force of FRP-ductile using Aluminum is similar to existing FRP reinforcement material and maximum strain was increased. In case of application of domestic subway tunnel which need ductility, layered composites of FRP-Aluminum is estimated effectively for increase of seismic performance.
