Analysis of the Functions of Semantic Web Browsers and Their Applications in Education (시맨틱 웹 브라우저들의 기능 분석 및 교육적 활용)

  • A user can use resources on the Semantic Web using a Semantic Web browser. In order to utilize the functions of Semantic Web browsers in education, we compared the functions of well-known Semantic Web browsers such as Tabulator, Contextual Search Browser (CSB), Magpie, and Piggy Bank. In order to utilize Semantic Web browsers in education, a user needs to understand the features of each Semantic Web browser and our work can help both teachers and students. Tabulator is an RDF browser that can help to check whether resources can be used for learning and relevance of resources. CSB can be used to search educational resources using a conrtext file that contains the subjects of learning. It can also help learning by showing semantic web resources in the form of triple set as well as by supporting highlighting function. Magpie can help learners without basic knowledge on learning materials by providing interpretation based on a glossary file and related background knowledge. Piggy Bank supports conversion of web resources into semantic web resources and allows to browse semantic web resources in various views as well as to share semantic web resources.

  • The Information retrieval system is more accurate of the information for you want to search, and quickly delivered. But the current search system is a simple way to parse on users fail to provide accurate information. This paper describes the ontology servers retrieve information through the system. Proposed system is Semantic Web-based information retrieval techniques in addition to structured documents using a variety of formats to maximize their data processing. In addition, interoperability and data integration RDF (Resource Description Framework) for saving documents by supporting rapid and accurate information retrieval. This supports a variety of Web browsers on the Web will be utilized in the field of efficient data retrieval.

  • This research is to develop product retrieval system through simplified communication by applying intelligent agent technology based on automatically created domain ontology to present solution on problems with e-commerce system which searches in the web documents with a simple keyword. Ontology development extracts representative term based on classification information of international product classification code(UNSPSC) and jewelry websites that is applied to analogy relationship thesaurus to establish standardized ontology. The intelligent agent technology is applied to retrieval stage to support efficiency of information collection for users by designing and developing e-commerce system supported with semantic web. Moreover, it designs user profile to personalized search environment and provide personalized retrieval agent and retrieval environment with inference function to make available with fast information collection and accurate information search.

  • 본 연구는 인공지능과 정보검색, 웹 기반 시스템 분야의 새로운 추세인 시맨틱 웹 기술을 이용하여 웹 문서의 변경을 자동으로 사용자에게 알려주는 시스템을 개발하고자 한다. 기존의 시스템의 문제점인 신택스 중심의 변화 탐지에서 벗어나 시맨틱 중심의 변화 탐지에 목표를 두어, 의미가 있는 변경 사항만을 찾아 알려주어 사용자에게 유용한 정보가 될 것이다. 또한 특정 도메인에 중심 된 변경 사항을 사용자에게 알려준다면 더욱 유용한 시스템이 될 것이다. 이를 위하여 특정 도메인과 시나리오를 가정한 온톨로지를 구축하고 이를 이용하여 시맨틱 중심의 변화 탐지를 가능하게 한다.

Automatic term-network construction for Oral Documents (구술문서에 기초한 자동 용어 네트워크 구축)

  • An automatic term-network construction system is proposed in this paper. This system uses the statistical values of the terms appeared in a document corpus. The 186 oral history documents collected from the Saemangeum area of Chollapuk-do, Korea, are used for the research. The term relationships presented in the term-network are decided by the cosine similarities of the term vectors. The number of the terms extracted from the documents is about 1700. The system is able to show the term relationships from the term-network as quickly as like a real-time system. The way of this term-network construction is expected as one of the methods to construct the ontology system and to support the semantic retrieval system in the near future.

  • Semantic Web is what supports a search, data integration, and automated web service by developing technology of giving help so that a computer can understand information a little more on the web. As amount of information gets growing and diverse, there is a problem of offering by efficiently extracting and processing only information proper for users' demand. Semantic Web isn't what is distinguished completely from the existing web. It gives a meaning, which was well defined, to information of being inserted on web by expanding the current web. Through this, a computer and a person come to perform work cooperatively. To implement Semantic Web, the limit of HTML needs to be overcome. The existing access authorization has not taken information and semantics into account due to the limitations of HTML. It is difficult to expand or integrate many relevant documents by using HTML. Program or software agent, not a person, cannot extract a meaning of document automatically. This study suggests a method of Access Authorization Policy Management that is in the Semantic Web configuration. Accordingly, the policy, which was designed in this study, improved the authorization process more than the existing method.

  • With respect to the Semantic Web proposed to overcome the limitation of the Web, OWL has been recommended as the ontology language used to give a well-defined meaning to diverse data. OWL is the representative ontology language suggested by W3C. An efficient retrieval of OWL data requires a well-constructed storage schema. In this paper, we propose a storage schema construction technique which supports more efficient query processing. A retrieval technique corresponding to the proposed storage schema is also introduced. OWL data includes inheritance information of classes and properties. When OWL data is extracted, hierarchy information should be considered. For this reason, an additional XML document is created to preserve hierarchy information and stored in an XML database system. An existing numbering scheme is utilized to extract ancestor/descendent relationships, and order information of nodes is added as attribute values of elements in an XML document. Thus, it is possible to retrieve subclasses and subproperties fast and easily. The improved query performance from experiments shows the effectiveness of the proposed storage schema construction and retrieval method.

  • 기존 전자상거래 플랫폼과 컨텐츠는 데이터의 확장 및 통합이 고려되지 않은 HTML을 중심으로 한 표현 기반 기술로 되어 있고, 특히 전자상거래 사이트별로 상품 정보에 대한 분류체계가 상이함으로 인해 구매자에게 상품별 비교와 검색에 있어서 많은 시간이 낭비되고 또한 정보의 공유가 어려운 기술로 인하여 판매자와 구매자 모두의 요구를 만족시키지 못하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 최근 차세대 웹 기술로 각광받고 있는 시맨틱 웹 기반 기술인 RDF/RDFS를 이용하여 기존 이종의 상점에 제시된 상품정보를 RDF 문서로 생성하고, OWL을 사용하여 상품 지식 기반온톨로지를 구축한 뒤, RDF 문서와의 분석과 매칭을 통하여 이종의 상점에 표현된 상품을 실시간으로 비교 검색하는 시스템을 설계 제안하였다.

  • The Web is evolving quantitatively into an explosive development. However, users usually have heavy burden of searching information because of the absence of contextual meaning on the Web. Due to an enormous amount of information, users have to endure for finding strong cohesive keywords by themselves and read each of the documents with enduring effort. This paper proposes an efficient method of searching more relative documents than current KEM-based searching systems on the Web by using contextual meaning. We designed a domain ontology on computer hardware, and a searching system which was searching those e-Learning objects. Owing to the Ontology-applied search system, information such as educational materials and related multimedia can be easily provided to the users. Further, learners could be informed of relationship of knowledge, e.g., class hierarchy, properties and values, and so on. The request results are semantically related to users' needs, and thus the system provides a learner-centered searching.

  • The conventional paper retrieval is the keyword-based search and as a huge amount of data be published, this search becomes more difficult in retrieving information that user want to find. In order to search for information to the user's intent, we need to introduce semantic Web that represents semantics of Web document resources on the Internet environment as ontology and enables the computer to understand this ontology. Therefore, we describe a paper retrieval system through OWL(Ontology Web Language) ontology-based reason in this paper. We build the paper ontology based on OWL which is new popular ontology language for semantic Web and represent the correlation among diverse paper properties as the DL(description logic) query, and then this system infers the correct results from the paper ontology by using the DL query and makes it possible to retrieve information intelligently. Finally, we compared our experimental result with the conventional retrieval.
