  • This study seeks to explore the method of imagination through creative new thinking in cultural heritage education and the most effective model of education in education. Research methods were organized by the methods of reviewing literature, browsing the Internet, and comparative analysis of prior research. We hope to realize the need for differentiated Korean cultural heritage and make efforts to incorporate our identity in the design. Through this study, we hope to realize the need for differentiated Korean cultural heritage and make efforts to incorporate our identity in the design. In the process of visualizing information, the focus should be on identifying the structure, characteristics, and the correlation between pattern and trend analysis, and the heterogeneity analysis, and should be made with the characteristics considered. Texting, graphics, sound, animation, lighting, and Navigation are often used as the expressive elements of information visualization for educational models. To facilitate the understanding of learners, accurate information transmission visuals should be presented. To do so, the use of infographic can be the answer. It is necessary to develop appropriate multimedia visual data, such as the use of infographic to be applied, and to develop various infographic multimedia visuals. These work should not be merely a research dimension, but should be carried out with the aim of helping develop actual cultural heritage educational content.

  • We propose a wearable system to help the visually impaired persons for walking safely to destination. If a user selects a destination, the system guides the user to destination with position data from GPS receiver and shortest path algorithm. At the same time, after acquiring complex spatial structures in front of the user with ultrasonic sensors, we categorize them into several predefined patterns, and determine an avoidance direction by estimating the patterns. As a result, visually impaired persons can arrive at destination safely and correctly without others help.

  • In this paper, we want to solve the problems that users want to search the progress of attack, continuity of attack, association between attackers and victims, blocking priority and countermeasures by using visualization interface with multi-rotational axis and radial axis structure. It is possible to effectively monitor and track security events by arranging a time series event based on a multi-rotational axis structured by an event generation order, a subject of an event, an event type, and an emission axis, which is an objective time indicating progress of individual events. The proposed interface is a practical visualization interface that can apply attack blocking and defense measures by providing the progress and progress of the whole attack, the details and continuity of individual attacks, and the relationship between attacker and victim in one screen.

  • Graphical user interfaces (GUI) in modern software deliver information visually, and a well-designed interface can provide information to the use in an organized and intuitive manner while poorly-designed interfaces can cause visual inconvenience and confusion. In order to effectively deliver information to the user, visual attention should be placed on a prominent location in the image. This paper introduces a method based on a human visual system (HVS) that can improve Metro-style GUIs by reducing a user's workload to visually find information. Our method is designed with spatial mapping and color mapping for buttons in the Metro-style GUI. Also we define a metric for Metro-style GUI effectiveness, including an optimization algorithm. The results show that our method improves the performance of visual search tasks in a Metro-style GUI.

  • This study explored the possibility of using visual models in teaching proportional reasoning based on the review of previous studies. Many studies on proportional reasoning emphasize that students tend to simply apply formal procedures without understanding the meaning behind them and that using visual models may be an alternative to help students develop informal strategies and proportional reasoning. Given these, we re-constructed and implemented the unit of a textbook to teach sixth graders proportional reasoning with ratio table, double number line, and double tape diagram. The results of this study showed that such visual models helped students understand the meaning of proportion, explore the properties of proportion, and solve proportional problems. However, several difficulties that students experienced in using the visual models led us to suggest cautionary notes when to teach proportional reasoning with visual models. As such, this study is expected to provide empirical information for textbook developers and teachers who teach proportional reasoning with visual models.

  • The paper investigates the resources of the 232 countries based on the 39 resources of these countries. The data used in this work is from various sources like UN, CIA, World bank, OECD reports and the home pages of each country. The purpose of the study is to evaluate what resources are most influential to the wealth of a country, to the well-bring of the country, or the status of the country's development. For this, data visualization method is applied. Data visualization technique, although powerful for exploratory purposes, is dependent upon the users expertize and the interpretation is also dependent on the of the users. For objective methods of investigation, mutual information based on the Shanon's entropy theory is applied here. All the statistical methods employed in this paper are processed with DAVIS (Huh and Song, 2002)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore physical factor of digital text structure for designing e-Book interface and to develop prototype of e-Book interface by applied these factors. To address this goal, explore factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were employed, 237 university students were the participated in this study. According to a result, 29 items for physical feature of digital text structure were developed, 9 factors of digital text structure were also extracted; volume, depth, density, space, layout, format, signal, size, and length. Besides, to identify structure of pre-defined 9 factors, confirmatory factor analysis was conducted. As a result of CFA, the factor structure was supported by all of model fit indices.

  • Cyberbullying, one of the acts of cyber violence, is becoming a problem as digital devices become popular. Therefore, this study intends to provide pictograms that can communicate visually in order to raise awareness of cyberbullying prevention. 'Cyberbullying prevention pictogram' was conducted in total 6 times for 5 middle and high school boys. After analyzing the works, the results of this study are as follows. First, we investigated the change of cyberbullying recognition, empathy sensitivity, message visualization and social participation. First, the learner relaxed the burden of the art expression by using app, and the interest of the art was improved. Second, the learner recognized the seriousness of cyberbullying's violence and recognized the importance of preventing cyberbullying. Third, the learner improved sympathy sensitivity that sympathizes the suffering of cyberbullying victims. Fourth, cyberbullying prevention pictograms improved the ability to read, utilize and interpret visual images through sharing works. Fifth, the work was posted on an Instagram to give concrete action on social problems. In conclusion, we proved the effectiveness of cyberbullying prevention art class using pictograms.

  • This is an exploratory study that examines the publication and use of sex education books for youth and considers their values and applicability to sex education for youth in the future. In-depth interviews were conducted with book editors, sex education experts, and public librarians-those who play important roles in children and young adults' reading of sex education books-and analyzed. According to the research participants, parents and caregivers often rely on sex education books when they find it hard to deliver sex education to their children on their own. Sex education books are also often used by sex education experts in their classes. The research participants said many sex education books that were published in South Korea only focus on 'the body education,' which deals with body changes during puberty. Gender inequality is another subject that needs to be changed. The research participants agreed that a sex education book should not just be a simple medium that delivers fragments of knowledge on sexuality but a broader learning playground where children and young adults can learn independent perspectives on sexuality based on comprehensive views on life. This study suggests a guideline for sexuality education books, which will be useful for library collection development.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the information use experience of total blindness with OTT. To achieve the study purpose, in-depth interview with nine total blindness using a semi-structured checklist was conducted. The data were analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological method. This study has found 5 categories, 13 theme clusters, and 47 themes. The five categories are as follows: 1) the purpose of information use, 2) difficulties of information use, 3) handling of difficulty in information seeking, 4) perception and feeling, 5) improvement requirement The implications of this study are as follows; 1) There are no significant differences between total blindness and the general people of Information request topic in the use of OTT, 2) negative experience was connected with the accessibility with OTT, 3) there is a demand of better conditions with technical sides of OTT, 4) On the whole, they have a positive perception with OTT services.
