Study on the Academic Discussion about Animation Authorship (애니메이션 작가주의에 대한 학술담론 연구)

  • There has been discussed very little about animation authorship studies, especially the themes of authors and their original animation texts since 1990s. This study is to explore the academic discourse of animation authorship studies understanding the media aesthetics of animation and the scholarly approach of animation studies about authorship. This article examines 55 articles via meta analysis about animation authorship studies drawn from the 1,516 articles on the general animation studies. The results were as follows. First, the domestic animation studies on the authorship were made about animators of Japan, US, and european countries. Second, It was dominant that scholarly interest on the screen direction and visual expression of animation texts. This shows the authorship approaches were mainly about visual aspects of animations. The domestic animation authorship studies did not trace the authorship issues on author's world view and visual style revealed in the corpus of texts. Instead, they discussed authorship issues on the characteristics of individual animation text. It has been evident that animation studies were not enthusiastic about building the independent theory on animation. Therefore, animation studies have tried theorizing the animation issues borrowing the literature and film theories. This study can contribute to increase phase of animation studies by drawing the intensive discussion of animation authors and their authorship.

A Comparative Study of "Jeitinho" in Brazil and Nepotism in Korea From a Business Perspective (브라질의 제이칭뉴(jeitinho)와 한국의 연고주의 간 비교 연구: 비즈니스 관점을 중심으로)

  • This study aims to answer the following three questions: 1) What is "jeitinho" in Brazil and its historical roots, 2) What are similarities and differences between "jeitinho" and nepotism in Korea, and 3) Considering the nation-wide prevalence of "jeitinho" in Brazil as a desirable way of thinking and acting, how can Korean firms in Brazil effectively manage cultural differences between Brazil and Korea? To answer these questions, this study reviews previous research on "jeitinho" and nepotism and systematically compare them from a theoretical perspective. After that, the comparison results are further discussed in the context of Korean firms in Brazil, suggesting how the Brazilian and Korean culture can be successfully integrated to boost performance.

  • In the current era of mathematics education, constructivism is a core theory of learning. For teachers, understanding and applying constructivism to their teaching practices are crucial for student centered teaching. However, some mathematics educators understand Constructivism in a different way. For example, some future teachers view Constructivism as making mathematics 'fun' by creating game without considering conceptual understanding. In this paper, the original articles of Constructivism were revisited and investigated to understand and to search for their meanings. Also several types and sources of Constructivism were identified; Radical Constructivism, Vygotsky's social-cultural theory of development, Social Constructionism, and Social Constructivism. This paper investigated arguments of the several types of Constructivism and discussed their implications for mathematics teaching.

  • This study examines the concepts and characteristics of Interculturalism and extracts artistic expressions of intercultural characteristics shown in Nouvelle Danse and Non-Danse, which were the birthplace of the contemporary dance flow in Europe. The discussion and composition of these dances will be analyzed from an intercultural perspective by selecting three works by each choreographer representing Nouvelle Danse and Non- Danse. In doing so, we would like to examine what creative acceptance was achieved based on the values and understanding in the clash and encounter between different cultures in art. Dance and interculturalism emphasize exchanges and encounters between one's own culture and other cultures. In addition, it has the potential to contribute to dance studies through the humanistic perspective of dance, as it also contains issues about diversity and identity due to exchange between cultures at the center of globalization. Therefore, the purpose of the study is to read the artistic expressions of choreographers in Nouvelle d'Anse and Non-d'Anse through intercultural understanding with an in-depth understanding and to interpret them by adding multi-layered time to the study.

  • Humanism connotes dignity and esteem with the essential idea of human and more human. This paper has conducted a inquiry of the understanding about human and humanism represented by visual image of film. Especially, this study investigated the way to adhere to reflective attitude about human and society. It is based on theoretical discussion of formalism and auteurism and analyzed the way of constructing time-space structure of (by Lars von Trier) which is known the typical formalism film. According to the findings, appeared to appropriate the ocularcentrism aesthetic to film form and give the self-regulation to definite the idea of film art through picturesque imagination of dramatic stage. Such a result means that it converts the filmic time-space to the virtual things and practicalize the classification of the ethical doctrine of innate goodness and innate sin of human and the definition of humanism. Also it means formalism film overturns the existing institutional mode of representation.

  • This study criticizes the neoliberal dominance in social web popular culture from a feminist perspective. A key question is to identify the nature of the social web popular culture-is it the repercussion or recapturing of feminism in relation to the social context of the prevalence of popular cultural practices of neoliberalism and how to challenge against neoliberal ideology with the critical positioning of feminism? In dealing with these questions, four celebrities' twitter discourses are analysed. The emphasis of smartness in digital mediascape, neoliberal imperative to be competitive, autonomous, positive and affirmative, and desire and fantasy brought by postfeminist lifestyle industries are embedded in the present popular culture. The critical account of neoliberal postfeminism suggests the necessity of an critical feminism which brings about alternative values to the current neoliberal demand for the active subject and consumer freedom of choice as the standard of ideal women.

German expressionist dance emerged as a response to the social instability and economic downturn that followed World War I, leading to the introduction of expressionism and grotesque aesthetics.   • This study's aim was to confirm that pseudoneglect affects visual attention through car laterality, using a driving simulator with either bisection or quadrisection strategies being applied to road usage. On the pencil and paper tests, the left quadrisection and bisection marks deviated significantly to the left. While driving, the car was significantly lateralized to the right of the lane regardless of conditions. However, in terms of relative laterality, the biggest left laterality occurred on roads 1(bisection), while the smallest left laterality occurred on roads 2 (right quadrisection). Thus, the effect of pseudoneglect was demonstrated in both the pencil and paper tests and the driving simulation task. Also, roads 2 and 4, which were driven on the right side of the lane, showed a tendency for drivers to avoid the centerline, as this was the expected cause of right laterality. This study demonstrated that the pseudoneglect phenomenon can occur in a routine driving task.

  • This study analyzes the socio-economical contexts of Japan's Karaoke inflow in Busan of the 1980s, and examines the relationship between Karaoke culture of the 1980s and 'Noraebang' culture of the early 1990s in Busan from the perspective of the SCOT(social construction of technology) theory. By the end of 1970s, Japan's Karaoke was introduced under the contexts of structural transformations of a geisha tourism in the East Asian regions. Karaoke culture in Busan of the 1970s and 1980s has formulated social recognitions of the novelty of Noraebang culture in the 1990s, although it has done so through the ways of misunderstandings and Nationalism.
