Our country has so large mountain area that the tunnel construction is inevitable and the need of incident detection that provides safe management of tunnels is increasing. In this paper, we suggest a tunnel incident detection system using computer vision techniques, which can detect the incidents in a tunnel and provides the information to the tunnel administrative office in order to help safe tunnel operation. The suggested system enhances the processing speed by using simple processing algorithm such as image subtraction, and ensures the accuracy of the system by focused on the incident detection itself rather than its classification. The system is also cost effective because the video data from 4 cameras can be simultaneously analyzed in a single PC-based system. Our system can be easily extended because the PC-based analyzer can be increased according to the number of cameras in a tunnel. Also our web-based structure is useful to connect the other remotely located tunnel incident systems to obtain interoperability between tunnels. Through the experiments the system has successfully detected the incidents in real time including dropped luggage, stoped car, traffic congestion, man walker or bicycle, smoke or fire, reverse driving, etc.
Take-over requests in semi-autonomous cars must be handled properly in the case of road obstacles or curved roads in order to avoid accidents. In these situations, situation awareness and appropriate decision making are essential for distracted drivers. This study used a driving simulator to investigate the components of auditory-visual information systems that affect safety, workload, and trust. Auditory information consisted of either voice guidance providing situation awareness for the take-over or a beep sound that only alerted the driver. Visual information consisted of either a screen showing how to maneuver the vehicle or only an icon indicating a take-over situation. By providing auditory information that increased situation awareness and visual information that aided decision making, trust and safety increased, while workload decreased. These results suggest that the levels of situation awareness and decision making ability affect trust, safety, and workload for drivers.

Cities in the region have a problem in that they cannot accurately monitor small areas because the number of air pollution is differently observed depending on variables such as population, season, traffic volume, and industrial complexes. In order to solve this problem, in this paper, comparative analysis was performed on small areas where representative air pollutants SO2, PM10, NO2, CO, and O3, which adversely affect the human body, are observed through coefficient of determination. In addition, based on Bonferroni's multiple comparative analysis, the air pollution level by period is shown. The map for the monitoring system was linked with the coordinates of each small city to visualize air pollutants for small cities based on the analysis data. Through this, it is possible to provide the user with a monitoring system of air pollutants for the region more precisely, and to prevent them from accidents that may occur due to air pollution in everyday life.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the changes of the cognitive function and health-related quality of life. Study subjects were 35 elderly living alone and they participated in the cognitive program for 8 weeks regularly. The assessment of cognitive function was used by the Loewenstein occupational therapy cognitive assessment battery and the orientation, visual attention, spatial perception, motor praxis, visuomotor organization, thinking operation, and attention. The assessment of health-related quality of life was used by the Short form-8 health survey and the gerneral health condition, physical function and role, pain, vitality, social function, mental health, and emotional role. As the results, all the results of variables showed the statistically significant increase after the participation in the cognitive program. To improve the cognitive function and health quality of life of the elderly living alone, the participation in the cognitive program should be considered.

Efforts by the Ministry of Environment and local governments in Korea are continuing to manage the aging of water supply and sewage buried underground. With the support of the Korea Institute of Environmental Industry and Technology's water and sewage innovation technology development project, it is conducting a project to predict and exchange accidents due to aging, and to apply smart functions to new buried pipes. As one of these studies, this paper proposes the design of a dashboard concept model for digital twin-based smart pipe health monitoring, one of the key features of the entire study. Since remote control and monitoring are one of the main functions, distributed transmission and reception agents are deployed to visualize monitoring situations in real time and to increase user affinity by deploying intuitive UI. To validate the design of this proposed special digital twin based smart pipe state monitoring, we construct the conceptual model level and measure the agent effectiveness to validate its excellence.

On a curve radius, there is speed deviation because a driver who is on the curve radius can have visual distortion. The curve radius can be more dangerous than a straight radius by many reasons. Especially, visibility paralysis of delineator that is because of night and bad weather. Can pervert the information about curve sections, it threatens safety. More over accident risk is increased by influence to travel speed. Therefore, it needs to build and control delineators for driver's visibility. Therefore, this study focus on finding the two types of delineator(the retro-reflection and inside-lighting delineator) by insight-surveying and the operating speed are compared by survey and operating speed. Finally, inside-lighting delineator will be selected in terms of safety at the curve sections. The inside-lighting delineator was more effective than the retro-reflection delineator on visibility, the necessity of reduction of speed and will reduce the hazard at curve sections. Also, the study analyzes safety is guaranteed by the slight reduction of speed when the driver enters a curve radius with inside-lighting delineator. As a result, the inside-lighting delineator can give the information about horizontal and vertical profile effectively, so it can reduce the accident risk. And it can use to improve traffic safety on curve radius.

The purpose of this study was to develop a HAM (Heuristic Attention Model) by analyzing the difference between eye movements according to the science achievement of elementary school students on discrimination task. Science achievement was graded by the results of the Korea national achievement test conducted in 2012 for a random sampling of classes. As an assessment tool to check discrimination task, two discrimination measure problems from TSPS (Test of Science Process Skill, developed in 1994) which were suitable for an eye tracking system were adopted. The subjects of this study were 20 students from the sixth grade who agreed to participate in the research. SMI was used to collect EMD (eye movement data). Experiment 3.2 and BeGaze 3.2 programs were used to plan experiments and analyze EMD. As a result, eye movements of participants in discrimination tasks varied greatly in counts and duration of fixation, first fixation duration, and dwell time, according to students' science achievement and difficulty of the problems. By the analysis of EMD, strategies of the students' problem-solving could be found. During problem solving, subjects' eye movements were affected by visual attention; bottom-up attention, top-down attention and convert attention, and aflunter attention. In conclusion, HAM was developed, and it is believed to help in the development of a science learning program for underachievers.
Purpose: Due to the change of demography, the ratio of senior drivers has increased and the transition to a super-aged society is expected to make more seniors drive in the future. Method: In this research, we analyzed medical characteristics of the driver's age-specific decline in body function and saw that both the function of the physical as well as mental capacities deteriorates as people age. Among them, various functions are precipitously weakened after reaching 70, implying that those over the age of 70 are classified as seniors in a medical sense. In this context, we also could identify that based on such age criteria, various safety policies for senior drivers should be developed and set up in Korea. Result: We could find a steep fall in the physical function of body after reaching 70 from the chronological change of cognitive function and judgment ability. In particular, it is revealed that the driving license institution and aptitude test for drivers over 70 should be thoroughly examined, as physical functions necessary for driving such as eyesight and hearing ability is not strong enough in many drivers over 70. Conclusion: Focusing on the physical capacity to drive, we tried to find the hazardous age bracket of senior drivers which might influence driving behaviors. Going forward, we expect this work would help to understand the policies for senior drivers and drivers' physical differences.

The purpose of this study was to improve awareness of network marketing business in South Korea, which takes a quite negative view of network marketing, to raise awareness of "starting up a business" as independent business owners, to assist them in building their own subjecthood in network business and entrepreneurial identity, and ultimately to give some suggestions on how to improve their self-directed entrepreneurial competency and the quality of their business management. To make an empirical analysis of 121 independent business owners of Korean native network marketing, the personal and background variables of the entrepreneurs were selected as independent variables, and entrepreneurship was selected as a mediator variable. The selected dependent variables were financial and non-financial business performances. A multiple regression analysis was conducted by inputting the variables. The findings of the study were as follows: It produced an effect of more financial performance when the innovation of the independent business owners of network marketing was better, and this innovation was possible to have only when they improved in entrepreneurial efficacy and locus of control. In contrast, only authenticity had an effect on boosting non-financial business performance among the factors of entrepreneurship. To have authenticity, it's necessary to strengthen achievement needs and awareness of locus of control among the personal characteristics of the independent business owners of network marketing. Among the factors of entrepreneurship, there was better authenticity when their personal networks were broader among their background characteristics. In addition, self-efficacy that was one of personal characteristics made a direct contribution to the enhancement of non-financial performance. As a result, independent business owners of network marketing are required to hold a strong belief in their own business, to be active in business activities and to have a high efficacy as spontaneous principal agents, and they also are required to have more adventurous, planned, active and propulsive achievement needs that enable them to attain the goals of their business and keep moving forward. Besides, they should foster their locus-of-control competency that is to control, endure and be responsible for a variety of phenomena or incidents that they face, and there will be better financial performance or non-financial performance only when they demonstrate their self-belief and confidence and when they have faith in and conviction about themselves. For independent business owners of network marketing, a consumer-centered thinking that entails authenticity and trustworthiness and touches the hearts of customers is a more effective marketing strategy than an egocentric thinking as sellers when they approach customers. And they are expected to make progress in terms of the quality of business management when their business attachment or enthusiasm is great enough to match their own efficacy with entrepreneurial identity or strike a balance between them.

The performance of Enterprise Architecture (EA) in the Korea's public IT domain produces mixed results and responses. On the one hand, EA earns positive remarks and enthusiasm as a central government-wide IT governance framework with its significant IT budget saving records. At the same time, however, the response to EA at the department and agency level is tainted with disappointment, fatigue, and reluctance. This essay suggests that this is perhaps caused by the sterile lackluster concept of EA Business Architecture employed in the current EA practice of the enterprise. The possibility for liberating and reviving the concept of EA Business Architecture is explored. Various conceptual axes and branches of EA Business Architecture are identified based upon extensive EA field experience and observations, and discussions are made on how the concept of EA Business Architecture can be expanded and amplified on those conceptual axes and branched. The resulting EA Business Architecture conceptualization is consolidated into an illustrative typology for EA Business Architecture. In the end the theoretical and practical implications of the research are discussed along with its contribution and limitation.
