  • Cloud storage system that cloud computing providers provides large amounts of data storage and processing of cloud computing is a key component. Large vendors (such as Facebook, YouTube, Google) in the mass sending of data through the network quickly and easily share photos, videos, documents, etc. from heterogeneous devices, such as tablets, smartphones, and the data that is stored in the cloud storage using was approached. At time, growth and development of the globally data, the cloud storage business model emerging is getting. Analysis new network storage cloud storage services concepts and technologies, including data manipulation, storage virtualization, data replication and duplication, security, cloud computing core.

Design and Implementation of Scalable Webhard API Based on Storage Virtualization for Groupware Systems (그룹웨어 시스템을 위한 확장성 있는 가상화 스토리지 기반 웹하드 API의 설계 및 구현)

  • Recently webhard services in various applications have been notably increased. In order to adopt some webhard functions into the existing application platform, however, a lot of manpower and cost is necessary. In this paper, we propose webhard API based on cloud storage for building and extending the webhard functions. The proposed system consists of three layers: application, web-hard server, and storage server in which each layer provides its API independently. It is enable the developer to easily extend the webhard functions to the application by using only HTTP request, which provides no limitation of the programming language. Because our webhard API is running on the virtualized cloud storage, it is possible to easily extend the storages and to reduce the maintenance cost. In this paper, we implement all the webhard API and then show the result of adopting the API to a prototype groupware system.

  • This paper proposes the data security technology for the desktop virtualization environment using the separated software execution method. In the virtual environment where allocates separate VMs to the users, there is a benefit that the programs in one guest machine are isolated from the programs running in another guest machine, whereas in the separated execution environment that supports application virtualization, the isolation is not offered and it causes the data security problem because the applications are executed by the one root privilege in the server. To solve this problem, we provides the data security method using the server storage filter, the viewer filter, and the file mapping table in this paper.

  • This paper proposes a software defined storaging method to converge the network virtualization technique and the RAID of distributed storage environment. The proposed method designs software based storage which it apply a flexible control and maintenance of storages. In addition, the method overcomes the restricted of physical storage capacity and cut costs of data recovery. The proposed failover recovery technique based on Software-Defined RAID has been tested the substantial verification and the performance using public AWS and Google Storage.

  • 기존의 백업 시스템은 대부분이 Tape Media나 디스크를 이용하여 구축되어 왔다. 하지만 점차 백업 용량의 증가와 백업장치의 물리적 장애, 복구시간 증가 등의 문제에 직면하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점들을 해결하기 위해 보다 효과적이고 빠른 시간에 백업 및 복구가 가능하도록 스토리지 가상화와 VTL기술을 이용한 백업 시스템 구축에 대한 연구를 진행한다.

  • 이 논문에서는 클러스터의 다수 노드의 메모리를 블록 스토리지로 가상화하는 분산 인-메모리 스토리지 기술을 개발한다. 이때 클러스터를 구성하는 어떤 노드가 고장이 나더라도 지속적으로 스토리지에 접근할 수 있는 내장애성을 갖도록 한다. 또한, 실험을 통해서 개발한 분산 인-메모리 스토리지의 성능을 입증한다.

  • It is important to improve the performance of storage in the home cloud environment within the virtualized IoT gateway since the performance of applications deeply depends on storage. Though SSD caching is applied in order to improve the storage, it is only used for read-cache due to the limitations of SSD such as poor write performance and small write endurance. However, it is important to improve performance of the write operation in the home cloud server, in order to improve the end-user experience. This paper propose a novel SSD caching which considers write-data as well as read-data. We validate the enhancement in the performance of random-write by transforming it to the sequential patterns.

  • Due to explosive increase in the amount of data produced recently, cloud storage system is required to offer high and stable performance. However, VM (Virtual Machine) migration may result in lowered storage service performance. Especially, in an environment where the host-side flash cache is used in a cloud system, the existing warmed up cache is lost and the problematic cold start begins at a new cache due to a VM migration. In this paper, we first demonstrate and analyze the cold start problem and then propose Cachemior (Cache migrator) which enables efficient hot start of the flash cache.
