Smart factory construction projects are continuously being carried out domestically and abroad. In particular, in times of increasing uncertainty, interest in smart factories is increasing to improve corporate productivity. Currently, the government-led smart factory construction project is continuously being promoted in Korea. The tangible results of this construction project are very positive in indicators such as productivity improvement, quality improvement, and cost reduction. On the other hand, various contents are revealed in the survey to identify operational difficulties after building a smart factory. In this study, we analyzed difficulties (problems) in operation after establishing the system shown in the survey conducted in 2017 and 2020, and derived improvement plans for them. If these improvement measures are implemented in the relevant process of the smart factory construction project, it is expected that the operational difficulties felt by companies will be reduced, and a system with higher satisfaction than before will be established.
This case research investigates on how hearing aids, which is one of disability aids, is becoming a smart device, focusing on the case of Starkey Hearing Technologies(Starkey Inc.). Starkey, founded in 1967, has been a leader in innovating forms and functions of hearing aids, and has recently introduced the world's first hearing aid implemented with AI and biological sensors. In this study, history of disability aids, hearing aids(especially Starkey Inc.'s), smart wearable devices and smart earphones are compared. It has been found that recently, there has been a breakdown of boundaries between hearing aids and smart wearable devices in terms of their functions, since entertainment and life assistant functions are added to hearing aids. Based on this trend, the development model of disability aids and smart wearable devices are derived, and according social changes are discussed.

Due to the rapid development of IoT technology and the increase in home activities after the COVID-19 pandemic, users' demand for smart homes has increased significantly. As the size of the smart home market increases every year and the number of users increases, the importance of personal information protection and various security issues is also growing. It often grants temporary users smart home owner rights and gives them access to the system. However, this can easily allow access to third parties because the authorities granted are not properly managed. In addition, it is necessary to prevent the possibility of secondary damage using personal information collected through smart home devices and sensors. Therefore, in this paper, to prevent indiscriminate access to smart home systems without reducing user convenience, access rights are subdivided and designed according to the functions and types of smart home devices, and a token-based user access control technique using personal devices is proposed.

This study presented a cybersecurity risk management system in a smart factory environment. A smart factory refers to a factory that optimizes the production system and increases efficiency. However, this digitized environment is vulnerable to cyber attacks, and manufacturing companies can suffer serious damage from disruptions in production systems or information leaks. Therefore, a systematic approach to effectively managing cyber security risks is essential in smart factories. In this study, a continuous security risk management system for each stage of the smart factory was proposed along with business process-based security risk assessment. These studies will help to further improve cybersecurity risk management in smart factories. It will also play an important role in ensuring that smart factories operate safely and efficiently.
The Internet of Things (IoT) technology is rapidly developing in recent years, and is applicable to various fields. A smart factory is one wherein all the components are organically connected to each other via a WSN, using an intelligent operating system and the IoT. A smart factory technology is used for flexible process automation and custom manufacturing, and hence needs adaptive network management for frequent network fluctuations. Moreover, ensuring the timeliness of the data collected through sensor nodes is crucial. In order to ensure network timeliness, the power consumption for information exchange increases. In this paper, we propose an IEEE 802.15.4e DSME-based distributed scheduling algorithm for mobility support, and we evaluate various performance metrics. The proposed algorithm adaptively assigns communication slots by analyzing the network traffic of each node, and improves the network reliability and timeliness. The experimental results indicate that the throughput of the DSME MAC protocol is better than the IEEE 802.15.4e TSCH and the legacy slotted CSMA/CA in large networks with more than 30 nodes. Also, the proposed algorithm improves the throughput by 15%, higher than other MACs including the original DSME. Experimentally, we confirm that the algorithm reduces power consumption by improving the availability of communication slots. The proposed algorithm improves the power consumption by 40%, higher than other MACs.
This study is a case study of the research study and education with high school students of natural sciences. Recent development of the Internet of Things (IoT) based on the subject of various studies exist. This study is one of the most portable communication devices of these infancy, yet students were easy to define the molding process of contacting a pager that can go along way in making research topics. We called a pager. Today, it is given a large and complex smart mobile communication devices that can be used for big data. Prior pagers are taught the meaning of the first mobile communication means in our lives were given device. The internal structure is relatively simple and is thought to function relatively simple, just suitable as a teaching practices of high school students with an interest in science and engineering universities. This study can see all of the mechanical, electronic information contents of the radio pager in a relatively simple analysis of the injection molding ONE CAVITY analysis. Furthermore, the students also rated good educational practices that give meaning to remind the convergence training on mass production and process automation.

Recently, IoT technology has been applied in various field. In particular, the technology focuses on analysing large amount of data that has been gathered from the environmental sensors, to provide valuable information. This technique has been actively researched in the agro-industrial sector. Many researches are underway in the monitoring and control for growth crop environment in agro-industrial. Normally, the average weather data is provided by the manual agro-control method but the value may differ due to the different region's weather and environment that may cause problem in the disease and insect-pest prevention. In order to develop a suitable integrated system for fruit tree, all the necessary information is obtained from the Jeollanam-do province, which has the high production rate in the Korea. In this paper, we propose an integrated support platform for the growing crops, to minimize the damage caused due to the weather disaster through image analysis, forecasting models, by using the micro-climate weather information collection and CCTV. The fruit tree damage caused by the weather disaster are controlled by utilizing various IoT technology by maintaining the growth environment, which helps in the disease and insect-pest prevention and also helps farmers to improve the expected production.

Along with the expansion of areas in which ICT and Internet of Things (IoT) devices are utilized, open source software has recently expanded its scope of applications to include computers, smart phones, and IoT devices. Hence, as the scope of open source software applications has varied, there have been increasing malicious attempts to attack the weaknesses of open source software. In order to address this issue, various secure coding programs have been developed. Nevertheless, numerous vulnerabilities are still left unhandled. This paper provides some methods to handle newly raised weaknesses based on the analysis of histories and patterns of previous open source vulnerabilities. Through this study, we have designed a weaknesses analysis system that utilizes weakness histories and pattern learning, and we tested the performance of the system by implementing a prototype model. For five vulnerability categories, the average vulnerability detection time was shortened by about 1.61 sec, and the average detection accuracy was improved by 44%. This paper can provide help for researchers studying the areas of weaknesses analysis and for developers utilizing secure coding for weaknesses analysis.
Due to global warming and increased energy costs around the world, interests of energy saving and efficiency have been increased. In particular, forging factories need methods to save energy and increase productivity because of needing amounts of energy uses. To solve the problem, we propose a system, which includes collection, monitoring, and analysis process, to monitor energy uses each facility in realtime based on the IoT devices. This system insists of worksheets management, facility/energy management, realtime monitoring, history search, data analysis through connecting with existed ERP/MES Systems in manufacturing factories. The energy monitoring process is to present used energy collected from IoT devices connected with installed gasmeter and wattmeter each facility. This system provide the change of energy uses, usage fee, energy conversion, and green gas information in realtime on Web and mobile devices. This system will be enhanced with energy saving technology by analyzing constructed big data of energy uses. We can also propose a method to increase productivity by integrating this system with functions of digitalized worksheets and optimized models for production process.
Our society is aging rapidly. In this super-aged society, the increase in healthcare costs are considered a national problem that undermines the sustainability of social security. Various services for healthcare for the elderly have been promoted to address this. However, most of them have focused on healthcare after the outbreak of chronic diseases and lack preventive healthcare. Most of the preventive healthcare projects are only pilots. In this paper, the current status of health care services for senior citizens at home and abroad was analyzed and based on this, the limitations and improvements were analyzed to propose the establishment of IoT-based Total Silver Care Center. IoT-based Total Silver Care Center may be conveniently monitored the health status of the elderly through various sensors, medical devices, and smart bands. And based on this, it can improve the quality of nursing services through time-saving and work efficiency of nursing providers. In addition, health care interventions may be provided in a timely manner if there is a change in the health status of users. And real-time imaging systems can help overcome mental difficulties.
