Sub-pixel Motion Compensated Deinterlacing Algorithm (부화소 단위의 움직임 정보를 고려한 순차 주사화)

  • Advances of high-definition television(HDTV) and personal computers call for the mutual conversion between interlaced signal and progressive signal. Especially, deinterlacing which is known as an interlaced to progressive conversion has been recently required and investigated. In this paper, we propose new deinterlacing algorithm considering sub-pixel motion information. In order to reduce the error of motion estimation, we analyze the effect of inaccurate sub-pixel motion information and model it as zero-mean Gaussian noises added respectively to each low resolution image(field). The error caused by inaccurate motion information is reduced by determining regularization parameter according to the error of motion estimation in each channel. The validity of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated both theoretically and experimentally in this paper.

  • The problem of controlling asynchronous sequential machines is addressed in this paper. Corrective control means to make behavior of an asynchronous sequential machine equal to that of a given model. The main objective is to develope a corrective controller, especially when a model is given as nondeterministic, or a set of reference models. The structure of corrective control system for asynchronous sequential machines is addressed first, followed by description of nondeterministic models. Then, we propose a method for analyzing reachability of asynchronous machines and nondeterministic models. Proposed methods are demonstrated in an example.

New Edge Dependent Deinterlacing Algorithm Based on Horizontal Edge Pattern (수평 방향 에지의 패턴을 고려한 순차주사화 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose a new deinterlacing algorithm which is an edge dependent Interpolation (EDI) algorithm based on a horizontal edge pattern. Generally, a conventional EDI algorithm has a visually better performance than any other deinterlacing algorithm using one field. However, it produces unpleasant results due to the failure of estimating edge direction. In order to exactly detect edge direction, we use not only simple difference but also edge patterns. Experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm outperforms conventional approaches with respect to both objective and subjective criteria. Index Terms I-to-P conversion, deinterlacing, edge dependent interpolation, edge pattern.

Soft-Start Open Circuit Voltage and Constant Current Sequence Control of 2.5[kW] HID Search Lamp for Ship (선박용 2.5[kW] HID 탐사등의 Soft-Start 방식에 의한 개방회로 전압과 점등전류 순차 제어)

  • HID(High Intensity Discharge) search lamp for shipment requires a high open circuit and output current compare than vehicle. This paper presents a soft-start open circuit voltage and constant current sequence control method for 2.5[kW] HID search lamp. The proposed method controls the opal circuit voltage and discharge current of HID lamp according to ignition signal with a simple 8-bit micro-processor and PWM device. For the stable control of lamp, micro-processor checks the output voltage and current. And the checked signals are compared with ignition signal and changes the control mode for stable operation. An ignition signal and micro-processor change the control mode from open circuit voltage contort to constant current control. The proposed control scheme is verified from experimental tests of 2.5[kW] HID search lamp for shipment.

New De-interlacing Algorithm Combining Edge Dependent Interpolation and Global Motion Compensation Based on Horizontal and Vertical Patterns (수평, 수직 패턴에 기반 한 경계 방향 보간과 전역 움직임 보상을 고려한 새로운 순차주사화 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose a robust deinterlacing algorithm which combines edge dependent interpolation (EDI) and global motion compensation (GMC). Generally, EDI algorithm shows a visually better performance than any other deinterlacing algorithm using one field. However, due to the restriction of information in one field, a high duality progressive image from Interlaced sources cannot be acquired by intrafield methods. On the contrary, since algorithms based on motion compensation make use of not only spatial information but also temporal information, they yield better results than those of using one field. However, performance of algorithms based on motion compensation depends on the performance of motion estimation. Hence, the proposed algorithm makes use of mixing process of EDI and GMC. In order to obtain the best result, an adaptive thresholding algorithm for detecting the failure of GMC is proposed. Experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm outperforms the conventional approaches with respect to both objective and subjective criteria.

  • Discovering sequential patterns is an important problem for many applications. Existing algorithms find sequential patterns in the sense that only items are included in the patterns. However, for many applications, such as business and scientific applications, quantitative attributes are often recorded in the data, which are ignored by existing algorithms but can provide useful insight to the users. In this paper, we consider the problem of mining sequential patterns with quantities. We demonstrate that naive extensions to existing algorithms for sequential patterns are inefficient, as they may enumerate the search space blindly. Thus, we propose hash filtering and quantity sampling techniques that significantly improve the performance of the naive extensions. Experimental results confirm that compared with the naive extensions, these schemes not only improve the execution time substantially but also show better scalability for sequential patterns with quantities.

  • Multi-Spinner 장비는 반도체 제조공정과정 중 Photo공정에서 노광(Exposure)공정을 제외한 PR 형성공정 및 현상(Development)을 수행하는 복합적인 장비이다. 이 복합적인 Multi-Spinner 장비의 각 수행 과정에서는 웨이퍼를 이동 작업하는데 있어서 이동경로를 최적 스케줄링 한다면 반도체 생산량 향상에 크게 도움이 된다. Multi-Spinner 장비내의 각 공정과정들은 PR 형성공정 및 현상 공정 순서에 맞게 순차적으로 진행되며, 이 과정들을 위해 이송 로봇이 순차적으로 웨이퍼를 이동하며, 이 과정에서 일정의 대기시간이 발생하게 된다. 대기시간을 줄이기 위해 C/S 유닛에 담겨 있는 수십 장의 웨이퍼들을 다음 공정으로 이송 시 이동경로의 최적 스케줄링이 필요하다. 본 논문은 스케줄링 문제를 풀기 위해 인공 신경회로망(Artificial Neural Network)을 이용한 최적 스케줄링 방법을 제안한다.

  • In this paper, Bit selectable and Bi-directional Interface Device is described, which can communicate data with the peripheral devices. Specially, an algorithm of truth-table comparison that synthesizes the pulse-type sequential circuit pulse has been proposed to design the Interrupt Generator, and implemented in designing the Interrupt Register. Also, a description of the asynchronous design method is given to remove the clock skew phenomenon, and the output asynchronous control method which finds the optimal clock and controls all the enable signal of the output pins at the same time is presented. Using this technique interface ports have delay time of less-than 0.7ns.

Illumination Robust Feature Descriptor Based on Exact Order (조명 변화에 강인한 엄격한 순차 기반의 특징점 기술자)

  • In this paper, we present a novel method for local image descriptor called exact order based descriptor (EOD) which is robust to illumination changes and Gaussian noise. Exact orders of image patch is induced by changing discrete intensity value into k-dimensional continuous vector to resolve the ambiguity of ordering for same intensity pixel value. EOD is generated from overall distribution of exact orders in the patch. The proposed local descriptor is compared with several state-of-the-art descriptors over a number of images. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms many state-of-the-art descriptors in the presence of illumination changes, blur and viewpoint change. Also, the proposed method can be used for many computer vision applications such as face recognition, texture recognition and image analysis.

  • In this paper, we introduce a modified interference cancellation scheme for multiuser detection in CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access). This detector uses SIC(Successive Interference Canceller) scheme and divides the received signals to reduce the delay time. In this proposed structure, the active users are divided into a number of groups. Within each group, parallel detection is performed to estimate the output signal of that group. The estimated output signal due to that group is then subtracted from the received signal and the resulting residual signal is used for the parallel detection of the next group. This parallel and serial cancellation process is repeated until the last group in the stage is completed. The estimated output signals due to all groups except -th group are MAI for the user signals in -th group. Therefore, the estimated output signals due to all groups except th group are subtracted from the received signal, and then the obtained signal becomes the input signal of -th SIC. The proposed RDSIC (Reduced Delay time of Successive Interference Canceller) has performance and complexity close to the SIC, but with much less detection delay.
