Business Process Support Based on IoT Technology (사물인터넷을 이용한 비즈니스 프로세스 지원방안)

  • The purpose of this paper is to propose a method for business process system (BPS) based on the Internet of Things (IoT). As the results of this research the IoT architecture and the business process design are derived. The main findings include the proposed IoT-enabled BPS method, illustrated by the description of the application and its assessment. In addition, the key business processes namely; remote machine monitoring; maintenance of machine; material procurement; product pricing; and information reporting system, are affected by IoT technology. The proposed method of this research could be the reference for the companies which want to have better management performance based on IoT technologies.

A Software Development Process of Core Instrumentation System Based on the Rational Unified Process (RUP 기반 CIS 소프트웨어 개발 프로세스)

  • RUP(Rational Unified Process) is a development process which is based on object-oriented, use case centric, architecture centric, and iterative approach. Public projects performed previously adopt waterfall lifecycle model for development of large scale software. However, recently various projects adopt an iterative approach to minimize risks of a project and to enhance quality of software. But few research result on practices of RUP as the subprocess of system development process is available. This paper presents a system development process which uses RUP as the subprocess for a subset of the system. Thus we introduce a tailored RUP for K-CIS(Korean Core Instrumentation System). Moreover, we assess the application result of K-CIS with typical waterfall lifecycle model and RUP. We believe that the results of our work are useful for tailoring a system development process with RUP, reducing risks of development, and enhancing the quality of a final product.

  • Six Sigma has been adopted for the last two decades in many industries of manufacturing and service business to implement processs improvement. The methodology has difficulties in discovering target projects in the Define step and in controlling continuous measure and control in the Control step. To address the problem, more advanced system is required to support continuous control and management, and business process management (BPM) can be an effective solution for this problem. In this research, we introduce integrated models of Six Sigma and BPM for the purpose of realizing continuous process improvement, and explain the procedure of analyzing, improving, and monitoring the processes based on the data which has been accumulated in business process execution. It is expected that this integrated approach can maximize business performance by improving and managing business continuously on the integrated platform of two business innovation strategies, Six Sigma and BPM.

  • It has been required more reliable communication on processes and improvement of system performance as distributed systems using multicast protocol became widespread. In distributed environment maintaining data consistency through asynchronous execution of processes and coordinating the activities of them would occurs. This paper proposes a total ordering algorithm, TORMP, in order to resolve these problems. TORMP takes advantage of multicast protocol and uses an effective token passing method. It reduces a process delaying time before transmitting its message by multicasting a token simultaneously to every process that initiates the request of the message. Moreover, the processes receiving the token start multicasting the message at the same time, which causes to cut down the overall transmission dely. In case that one process sends a message, TORMP hardly uses the procedure of controlling for ordering. It gives fairly the right of sending messages to all processes in a group with utilizing vector clock. In TORMP, unlike other algorithms, the number of packets generated during ordering process does not depend on the number of processes.

  • The construction industry concentrates their efforts on construction information technology (IT) including construction CALS. However, the actual circumstances for construction IT focuses on building hardware and it neglects importance of business process reengineering (BPR) for construction tasks. A systematic process modeling method and a computerized model by process concept need for building construction BPR. This study develops a generalized BPR procedure for construction projects, and then suggests a new process modeling method for construction BPR that consists of object-related process model (ORPM). Finally, this study develops a web-based ORPM Builder (ORPMB) based on the ORPM methodology, and the applicability of the developed system is verified by a case study with practical construction processes.

  • The embodiment of working process fitting in characteristics of business each other in ERP system is indispensable factor. But, general ERP system is not so much profitable for the way of production management of footwear of domestic midge and small company that is dependant on most of the way of OEM production. Therefore, the development of ERP system fitted for present situation of the footwear manufacturing companies is necessary. For this, first, the business process for footwear production, for development of this system, have to be standardize and second, the model of Integrated system process based on standard business process have to be design for programming. In this paper, we proposed a method to build up standard business process and execute BPP in the point of the foundation for introduction and development of the resource planning systems only used by production of footwear and suited to the way of production management of the domestic companies manufacturing footwear. With this, we presented a process model of resource planning systems for footwear production. This study is focused on construction of integrated process model for production resource planning of ERP subsystems and the integrated process model consist of 13 modules.

  • Process-based knowledge management is `have knowledge operation system based in the task process and provide the accumulated knowledge of an organization for its members performing their task through a system in an appropriate format.' If it is embodied in the organization it is expected to significantly enhance the task process and knowledge. Meanwhile, Maier and Remus realized that if the organization`s strategy is added to the existing objective of knowledge management promotion strategy, it is in accord with major objectives of the process management such as BPR or BPM. Based on this, Maier and Remus devised a framework for promotion strategy of process-based knowledge management. As a result of analyzing their framework by applying it to examples of knowledge management promotion of the Ministry of Labor, it was found that process-based knowledge management should be applied in order to solve the problems and reflect improvement suggestions which had been constantly pointed out. Furthermore, the direction to be applied in connection with the improvement suggestions was presented in this study.

  • For parallel implementations of functional programs without concurrent primitives, the λ-calculus encodings have been introduced. A functional program may be trans for med into a process network using process calculiby the λ-calculus encoding and there sult of a program can be obtained by a deal of communication actions in it's process network. But the λ-calculus encodings cause too many communication actions even in constant expressions. This paper shows the encoding for a combinator program without concurrency primitives which can combine the graph reduction and the process-net reduction using computable processes,'chores'. A 'chore' may have graph reduction functions for primitive operations of constants for which local graph reduction may be possible, and be encoded from a 'G-reducible' subexpression which is obtained by an annotation and trans for mati-on for a combinator program, assuring that it does not include any combinator application. Also, we show that a process network with chores raises less commu-nication actions than one without chores.

  • In this paper we propose an algorithm for generating role-performer bipartite matrix for analyzing BPM-based human resource affiliations. Firstly, the proposed algorithm conducts the extraction of role-performer affiliation relationships from ICN(Infromation Contorl Net) based business process models. Then, the role-performer bipartite matrix is constructed in the final step of the algorithm. Conclusively, the bipartite matrix generated through the proposed algorithm ought to be used as the fundamental data structure for discovering the role-performer affiliation networking knowledge, and by using a variety of social network analysis techniques it enables us to acquire valuable analysis results about BPM-based human resource affiliations.

  • Message races should be detected for debugging message-passing parallel programs because they can cause non-deterministic executions. Specially, it is important to detect the first race in each process because the first race can cause the occurrence of the other races in the same process. The previous techniques for detecting the first races require more than two monitored runs of a program or analyze a trace file which size is proportional to the number of messages. In this paper we introduce an on-the-fly technique to detect the first race in each process without generating any trace file. In the experiment we test the accuracy of our technique with some benchmark programs and it shows that our technique detects the first race in each process in all benchmark programs.
