Journal Writing in Pre-service Mathematics Teacher Education (예비교사 교육에서 수학 학습 일지 쓰기의 적용)

  • In this study, pre-service teachers who would be mathematics teachers of secondary school wrote the journal about learning mathematics. Journal writing helped pre-service teachers' math learning. Pre-service teachers could think mathematics reflectively, inquire it, represent their affectivity, plan the self-directed learning, and have the records of learning. They considered the educational issues as instructional methods, organization and management of instruction, assessment, and attitude of teacher. As well, they thought that journal writing was important in learning mathematics and how they would apply their students. Journal writing was meaningful to pre-service teacher education in cognitive and situative aspects.

A Study on the relation between SDLR and Mathematical Inclination - A Case Study on Engineering Freshmen in D University - (자기주도학습준비도와 수학적성향 사이의 관계 연구 - D대학교 공과대학 신입생을 중심으로 -)

  • In order to study the relation between self-directed learning readiness and mathematical inclination, we survey the adjusted SDLRS(self-directed learning readiness scale) of Guglielmino's model and the mathematical inclination, the recognition of mathematics for 2011 year engineering freshmen in D university. Research results are as follows: First of all, middle level engineering freshmen showed average level of self-directed learning readiness, and they had lower level of motivation, passion and time management skill. The relation of SDLR and the mathematical inclination was strong. Furthermore, SDLR and the recognition of mathematics in engineering freshmen was found to be the most closely related. Based on the results of the study, we suggest to study of strategies to elevate SDLR of engineering students and improve their achievement in college mathematics. Especially, we suggest that college mathematics for engineering freshmen must be focused on the improvement of SDLR.

  • 정보화 ${\cdot}$ 세계화 시대에서 중요한 것은 단순히 지식을 암기하는 것이 아니라 스스로 정보를 탐색해 보고 이를 바탕으로 새로운 지식을 창조해내며, 미지의 문제에 직면하였을 때 이를 자주적이며 능동적으로 해결할 수 있는 능력을 기르는 것이다. 이에 수학 교육에 있어서도 이러한 시대적 요구를 반영할 수 있는 새로운 변화가 필요하게 되었고 1997년 12월에는 교육 개혁의 일환으로 추진되어 온 제 7차 교육 과정이 확정 ${\cdot}$ 고시되었다. 제 7차 교육 과정에서는 수학적 힘의 신장을 개혁의 기본 방향으로 정하고 있는데 최근 수학 교육에서는 학습자들의 수학적 힘을 개발하기 위한 학습 방법 중의 하나로 문제 중심학습(Problem Centered Learning)이 주목을 받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 중학교 2학년 일차함수 단원에 알맞은 과제를 개발하여 문제 중심 학습을 실시하였을 때 교사와 학생, 학생과 학생 사이에 나타나는 상호작용을 분석하고, 교사의 역할과 지도과정을 살펴봄으로써 중등학교 수학과에서 문제 중심 학습의 활용 방안과 과제의 개발 방향을 찾고자 하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 영재교육 프로그램의 효과에 관한 실증적인 연구를 위해서 트레핑거의 자기 주도적 학습 모형과 렌줄리의 3부 심화학습모형을 이용하여, 제7차 초등수학 교육과정에서 다루어지고 있는 기본적인 개념뿐만 아니라, 영재교육과정과 관련된 주제들을 중심으로 초등 수학 영재아들의 자기 주도적 학습 능력 신장을 위한 프로그램을 자체 개발하여, 개발된 영재교육프로그램을 이수하기 전과 이수 후의 수학적 학습 태도에 차이가 있는지를 검증하기 위해서, 제주대학교 과학영재교육원 초등수학반 아동들을 대상으로 사전 ${\cdot}$ 사후 수학적 학습 태도를 분석하였다.

A study on psychology in mathematics education and constructivism (수학학습심리학과 구성주의에 대한 고찰)

  • This article examines the educational background of the knowledge system in mathematics education from three perspectives-behaviorism, cognitivism, and constructivism-centered on psychology in mathematics education. First, the relationship between mathematical education and learning psychology is reviewed according to the flow of time. Second, we examine the viewpoints of objectivism and constructivism for school mathematics. Third, we look at the psychology in mathematics education and constructivism from the perspective of learning theory. Lastly, we discuss the implications of mathematics education.

A Meta-Analysis of Research Trends in Mathematics Learning Disabilities (수학학습장애 연구 동향 메타분석)

  • This study was designed as a meta-analysis to investigate the research trends in mathematics learning disabilities(MLD) area. The results of this study were as follows: The 201 researches targeted for the analysis can be categorized 4: characteristic of students with MLD, screening students with MLD, interventional teaching for students with MLD, and et cetera. Also, the outcomes of researches regarding intervention in MLD determined to have a large effect resulted in a total average of 0.958. Especially, as a result of analysing the effect size in accordance with teaching method variables in group-case designed researches, the effect was largest when direct instruction and strategy instruction was given. The effect was largest when the frequency of intervention was over 16 and under 20. The results in this study be summed up as follows. MLD can be served as a foundation in setting a direction for further research to improve in Korea.

  • This study is proposing and investigating the possibility of mathematics learning using novels, "Alice in Wonderland" and "Flatland". The proposed learning model of this article is for 3 hours of mathematics class. The model has been reviewed and remedied by 7 professionals(mathematics teachers). General opinions of the reviewers are quite optimistic on possibility of implementation.

Elementary School Teacher's Cognition on Pre-taught Students (수학 선행학습에 대한 초등학교 교사의 인식)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the public education system in Korea, that features many pre-taught students, and to figure out how elementary school teachers teach them. To accomplish this study, 204 elementary school teachers in Seoul participated in a survey and the frequency and percentage were made. In addition, to add more depth to this study 5 elementary school teachers had several interviews. We obtained the following results. First, elementary school teachers generally think that the situation with many pre-taught students have had a bad effect on public education and pre-taught students are drilled but cannot understand what they have learnt. They also answered that they have low morale when teaching pre-taught students. Second, a large number of elementary school teachers think the situation with many of the pre-taught students does not help the public math education system, which influences the teachers' teaching style. Teachers who answered negative on pre-taught students are running their math classes focusing on understanding math concepts and activities. On the other hand, few teachers who answered positive on pre-taught students did not care about the situation with many pre-taught students.

Study for Mathematics App development for Senior (스마트 기기 활용 시니어 수학 자료 개발 연구)

  • This study is part of app development research based on user centered design which targets silver generation learners. The mathematical contents provided by Senior math application focus on Numeracy issues. In order to finalize the user interface and the mathematical contents which is for developing the mathematic application, teaching experiment was carried out through 9 senior learners. Also CIPP program evaluation model was used for monitoring the result of this teaching experiment. Factors such as 'educational objectives' 'requirement analysis' 'educational environment' 'curriculum' 'learning content' 'learning matter' 'interaction' 'program administration' 'supporting environment' 'satisfaction' 'study result' 'substantiality of learning' were checked and as a result the Senior Mathematic application was developed through these feedbacks.

고등학교 이산수학의 의미와 교수-학습법

  • 제 7 차 수학과 교육 과정에서 이산수학이 수학과 선택과목으로 채택이 되었음에도 불구하고, 교사와 학생의 이산수학에 대한 인식이 부족하고 또한 교수-학습법에 대한 기준과 표본이 제시되어 있지 않은 상황에서 현재 고등학교에서 이산수학을 선택하는 학교와 학생의 수는 미미한 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 논문은 이러한 이산수학 교육의 상황 개선을 위한 고등학교 이산수학의 본연의 의미와 제 7 차 수학과 교육 과정에서의 이산수학 교육의 취지 및 목표 등을 고려하여 교육학적으로 보다 의미 있고 효과적인 교수-학습법을 제안하고자 한다.
