Attenuation Characterization of L(0,2) Guided Wave Mode through Numerical Analyses and Model Experiments with Buried Steel Pipe (수치해석과 모형실험을 통한 매립배관에서의 유도초음파 L(0,2) 모드의 감쇠 특성 평가)

  • By carrying out numerical analyses and model experiments, this paper presents the attenuation characterization of an L(0,2) guided ultrasonic wave propagating in a buried steel pipe. From this investigation, we first find that the L(0,2) mode has a better attenuation property. Second, it is shown from the numerical analyses that the attenuation increases with increases in the soil embedment length (0, 500, 1000, and 1500 mm) and degrees of saturation (0, 50, 99, and 100%). Third, it is also shown from the model experiment that the attenuation increases as the embedment lengths and soil moisture quantities (0, 10, 20, and 30 kg) increase. Finally, we find that an exponential extrapolation gives a better attenuation prediction because the extrapolation gives similar attenuation patterns between the numerical and experimental results.

  • This research deals with the wave transmission and dissipation problems for two dimensional regular waves and s vertical circular cylindersr. Using the unsteady mild slope equation, a numerical model has been developed to calculate the reflection and transmission of regular waves from a multiple-row vertical circular cylinders. In addition hydraulic model experiments have been conducted with different values of properties between the cylinders and opening ratio (distances) between the rows of the cylinders. It is found that the transmission coefficients decrease with decreasing the opening ratio and increasing the rows of vertical cylinders. Comparison between hydralic and numerical experiments results shows resonable agreement.

  • 본 연구에서는 지진하중을 받는 구조물의 MR감쇠기를 이용한 모드제어를 구현하고자 한다. 모드제어는 저차의 모드만을 이용하여 구조물의 진동을 제어한다. 따라서 토목구조물과 같은 자유도가 많은 대형구조물의 제어에 적합하며, 제어기의 설계 역시 다른 제어이론에 비해 간편하다. 모드제어에 대한 앞선 연구들이 많이 있음에도 불구하고, 반능동제어, 특히 MR감쇠기에 대한 모드제어의 성능에 대한 연구가 없었다. 본 연구에서는 MR댐퍼에 대한 효율성을 검토하기 위해서, 모드제어이론을 지진하중을 받는 구조물에 구현하였다. 센서로부터 측정된 응답을 이용하여 모드응답을 예측하기 위해 칼만필터를 구현하였으며, Spillover problem을 해결하기 위해 low-pass filter가 적용되었다. 수치예제를 통해 저차의 모드만을 제어함으로써, 구조물의 거동이 효과적으로 줄어드는 것을 확인하였다. 그러나 줄어드는 정도는 제어기의 가중치행렬과 칼만필터에 사용되는 센서에 의해 측정된 응답에 따라 다르다

  • 본 연구에서는 지하철용 전동차의 현가장치를 구성하는 1차 현가장치 및 2차 현가장치의 강성 및 감쇠지수 변화가 전동차의 상하진동에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 실제 운행 중인 전동차에 대하여 액슬박스, 대차, 객차에서 측정된 진동 데이터를 바탕으로 대차와 차체로 구성된 2자유도계 해석모델을 생성하였고, 실측된 윤축의 진동을 입력신호로 하여 수치해석을 수행하였다. 1, 2차 현가장치의 강성 및 감쇠지수의 변화에 따른 응답을 고찰한 결과, 차량의 상하진동에 지배적인 영향을 주는 설계변수는 2차 공기스프링의 강성임을 알았다. 또한 이러한 결과는 ADAMS/RAIL 전산해석을 통해서도 검증할 수 있었다.

Underwater Sound Propagation in a range-dependent Shallow water environment (비균질한 천해에서의 수중음파 전파)

  • Low frequency sound propagation in a range-dependent shallow water environment of the Korea Strait has been studied by using the adiabatic coupled mode, ADIAB. The range-dependent environment is unique in terms of horizontal variations of sound velocity profiles, sediment thickness and attenuation coefficients and water depths. For shallow source and receiver depths, the most important mechanism involved in the propagation loss is the depth changing character of mode functions that strongly depends on the local sound velocity profile. Application of the adiabatic coupled mode theory to shallow water environment is reasonable when higher modes are attenuated due to bottom interaction effects.   • 본 논문에서는 구조물이 과도한 기진력을 받을 때에 구조물의 진동 제어를 위하여 제안 되어진 여러 가지 포화 제어 알고리듬들의 유용성을 실제적인 관점에서 살펴보았다 제안된 포화 제어 알고리듬 중세서 수정된 뱅뱅 제어 알고리듬이 매우 유용한 것임을 확인할 수 있었으나 이는 제어력 파형 결정 파라미터의 어떤 범위내에서만 효과적이며 그 범위를 넘어서는 경우에 있어서는 제어기를 불안정하게 할 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다 따라서 수정된 뱅뱅 제어 알고리듬의 적용시에 과도한 외부 기진력에 대하여 제어기의 안정적인 작동에 의한 구조물의 진동제어효과를 얻기 위해서 제어력 파형 파라미터를 과도 기진력의 크기에 따라 변화시키는 적응형의 방법을 제안하였고 이의 유용성을 수치실험 및 유압식 질량 감쇠기를 장착한 축소 구조물 검증 실험을 통하여 확인하였다.

The Dynamic Analysis for Compound Planetary Gear of Continuously Variable Transmission (무단 변속용 복합 유성기어의 동적 해석)

  • In this study a compound planetary gear combined with three planet gears, which is used for continuously variable transmission, is modeled that consider variable nonlinear gear mesh stiffness and damping when gear rotates, and thus equation of motion of compound planetary gear is derived. Locus of sun gear center causing noise and vibration is being determined from performing derived state equation with numerical analysis in fourth order Runge-Kutta method.

  • 선박 고속화와 해양레저선박에 대한 관심 증대로 쌍동형 선체건조가 증가하고 있으며 일반적으로 쌍동형 선체는 복원성, 내항성능 및 저항추진 등에서 단동형 선체보다 고속선형 및 갑판활용에 적합하다고 알려져 있다. 하지만, 쌍동형 선체는 갑판 상에서 두 개의 선체를 동체로 결합시킨 선체로서 운동 시 부체 간 공진현상이 수반된 자유표면 거동과 유체력이 발생할 수가 있다. 따라서, 이 논문에서는 이런 공진현상을 감쇠시킬 수 있는 방안을 모색하여 합리적인 쌍동형 선체의 운동응답특성과 동유체력을 산출하였다.

Characteristics and Dynamic Modeling of MR Damper for Semi-active Vibration Control (준능동 진동 제어를 위한 MR 감쇠기의 동적 모델링을 통한 특성분석)

  • This research is aimed to evaluate characteristics and dynamic modeling of MR damper for semi-active vibration control. A MR damper of semi-active type was designed and made for the purpose of controlling the vibration of a real-size model structure. Usually a semi-active control system equipped with a MR damper requires a dynamic model which expresses numerical data about the damping capacity and dynamic characteristics generated by a MR damper. To fulfil the requirement, a Power model and a Bingham model were particularly employed among many dynamic models of MR damper. Those models being contrasted with other ones, a dynamic test was carried out on the developed MR damper. In the test, excitation frequencies were conditioned to be 0.15 Hz, 1.0 Hz, and 2.0 Hz, and three different currents were adopted for each frequency. From these test results, it was found that displacement affected control capacity of the MR damper. The test results led to the identification of model variables for each dynamic model, on the basis of which a force-speed relation curve and expected damping force were derived and contrasted to those of the developed MR damper. Therefore, it was proven that the MR damper designed and made in this research was effective as a semi-active controller, and also that displacement of 2mm at minimum was found to be secured for vibration control, through the test using various displacements.

Development of Self-centering Viscous Damper System for Seismic Retrofit of Ordinary Concentrically Braced Frame (보통중심가새골조의 내진보강을 위한 자가복원형 점성감쇠기 시스템 개발)

  • The ordinary concentrically braced frame has an advantage of having simple design procedure. For this reason, it has been widely used for the small-sized frame structures subject to moderate or lower magnitude earthquake, even though its seismic performance against the earthquake load is not much effective compared to that of other frame systems. To enhance seismic performance of the ordinary concentrically braced frame where the bracing has a weakness for compressive behavior under lateral earthquake, seismic retrofitting by viscous damper has been commonly introduced. However, the viscous damper, itself, generally does not have stiffness for restoring the structure to the original position. This may cause residual displacement to the structure. In this paper, a self-centering viscous damper system in which upper and lower beams having flexural rigidity play a role as a nonlinear-elastic spring, restoring the spring-damper system subject to external displacement history to its original location, is developed. The numerical analysis for a simplified frame structure shows how including the developed self-centering viscous damper system leads to an enhanced seismic performance of the frame structure through energy dissipation during earthquake excitation.
