The purpose of this study was to comparison the effects of aqua-and-land based obstacle training on balance of chronic stroke patients. Subjects were randomly divided into an aqua group(n=15) and d land group(n=15). Both group received obstacle training for 40 minutes, 3 times a week during 12 weeks. Static balance was assessed by measuring the mean velocity of mediolateral, anteroposterior and sway area with the eyes open using Good Balance System. Dynamic balance was assessed by measuring Functional Reaching Test(FRT) and the Timed Up and Go test(TUG). Following the intervention, both groups showed significant changes static balance(the mean velocity of mediolateral, anteroposterior and sway area) and dynamic balance(FRT and TUG). There were significant difference in the mean velocity of mediolateral, anteroposterior, sway area, FRT and TUG between the two groups after the interventions. The results of this study suggest that the aqua group and land group were increase balance functions of chronic stroke patients. The aqua group was significantly higher than the land group for patients with chronic stroke patients. We hope that aquatic training can be useful for patients with chronic stroke patients to improve balance functions and the aqua training research for improve balance functions will be conducted continuously.

In order to investigate the changes in growth hormone, testosterone, blood lactate, double product, and pain, this study conducted intensive weight training and circuit weight training with 60% intensity of 1RM for 7 men who had more than 6 months of resistance exercise and then performed Underwater Walking and Underwater Sitting with underwater recovery. Growth hormone was high in all exercise forms and recovery methods in order of after exercise, after recovery, and after stability, and testosterone was high in order of after exercise, after recovery, and stability. Blood lactate was higher in all exercise forms and recovery methods in order of after exercise, after recovery, and after stabilization, and dynamic recovery after concentration resistance exercise was lower than static recovery. Double product was higher in all types of exercise and recovery methods in order of after-exercise, after-recovery, and stability. Muscle pain decreased in the order of exercise, recovery, 24 hours, 48 hours, and 72 hours in all exercise forms and recovery methods. In the water environment, dynamic recovery is considered to be more effective in improving muscle fatigue than static recovery.
This study has been conducted by a systematic review of literature and a meta-analysis in order to identify the effect of water based exercise training for COPD(Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). Two researchers selected relevant literature, and extracted the date and assessed the quality of literature. A total of 5 studies met the inclusion criteria, and the outcome of methodological quality of the literature was not positive. According to the result of meta-analysis of water based exercise and usual care, it was considerably effective in 6 MWT and quality of life. This study introduces various types of water based exercise for COPD patients, which is considered useful for application of the program. However, it experiences difficulty to generalize due to lack of the number of literature in relation to the water based excercise.

The Purpose of this paper was to carry out basic study on development of real-time submarine-hnadling simulator. The author adopt the Unmanned Undersea vehicle(UUV), which has taken the shape of manta[1]. They call here it Unmanned Undersea Vehicle(UUV). UUV is based on the same design concept as UUV called Manta Test Vehicle, which was originally built by the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, USA[1]. The present study deals with prediction of manoeuvring motion of UUV at general drift angles and large drift angles. The dynamic mathematical model with six degrees of freedom is revised and supplemented in order to describe accurately motion of UUV. The hydrodynamic derivatives related to motion are obtained from previous work[2].

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of a practiced aquatic exercise program on the body function of obese women in the community, with knowledge of obesity preceded by obesity management education. The subjects were 20 obese women aged 51 to 79 who participated in the program for 8 weeks among the participants of health program in S healthcare center in D city. The aquatic exercise program, which includes obesity management training, consists of a total of 110 minutes, including twice a week, 20 minutes of obesity management training, and 60 minutes of aquatic exercise program. Obesity management education focuses on physical activity practice and dietary training. The results of this study showed that the aquatic exercise program including the 8 - week obesity management training decreased abdominal circumference, body weight and body mass index (p <.001, p <.001, p <.001),increased grip strength(P <.05), which is an effective program for reducing obesity and improving muscle power. In the follow-up study, it is necessary to increase the number of subjects and to develop the experimental design study with the control group and the participatory obesity management underwater exercise program that the participant directly participates and leads. It also suggests that additional strategies for continuous lifestyle improvement are needed.

Underwater gliders do not typically have separate propellers for forward motion. They generate propulsive forces based on the difference between their buoyancy and gravity. They can control the volume from the buoyancy engine to adjust the propulsive force. In addition, the attitude of the underwater glider is controlled by a rubberless motion controller. The motion controller can change the mass center and moment of inertia of the inner moving mass. Owing to the change in these parameters, the attitude of the underwater glider is changed. In this study, we derive nonlinear, six degree of freedom (DOF) mathematical models for the motion controller and buoyancy engine. Using these equations, we perform dynamic simulations of the proposed underwater glider, and verify the suitability of the design and dynamic performances of the proposed underwater glider. We then perform the motion control simulation for the pitch and roll angle, and analyze the dynamic performance according to the pitch and roll angles.

This paper suggests a numerical method that creates and varies hull form geometry of underwater vehicle. That is, it induces the cylindrical underwater vehicle from principal dimensions-total length, the length of parallel middle body, the coefficient defining entrance & run parts etc.-and represents using NURBS curve. Also, each section of hull form is varied by user interface and Sectional Area Curve is generated.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a 12-week Resistance exercise Type on Muscle Damaged and Blood Lipid in elderly Women. Study shows researchers randomly divided thirty elderly women into the following 3 Groups such as Control group(CG: n=10), Aquatic Exercise Group(AEG: n=10), circuit exercise group(CEG: n=10). They made each group excercise 3 days a week for 12 weeks. The results were as follows. There was no interaction effect in the TC, LDL-C, HDL-C but there were interaction effects in the Body weight and Body Fat(%). The AEG and CEG decreased than the CG in the Body Weight, Body Fat(%), TC, LDL-C, and increased than the CG in the HDL-C with significant difference. These results were made certain that decreasing the Body Weight and Blood lipid, Increasing the Muscle and HDL-C for elderly women on AEG and CEG. The analysis results of study show the index of TG, CPK, LDH has no significant difference. Besides, It is considerable that the aquatic Exercise and Circuit exercise can prevent and improve the Sarcopenia for elderly women.

There are positive effects, such as pain reduction, when rheumatism patients exercise in water, but the cause of the pain reduction is unclear, and research on this is inadequate. This study examined the flow of the surface of the foot and the principles of pain relief. Unsteady simulations were conducted to analyze the flow, which was performed by repeatedly setting the movement of the foot raising and descending three times. Pressure fluctuations and frequencies were analyzed by designating pressure points at the painful location. The results showed that a positive and negative pressure of approximately ±500Pa was applied overall. A pressure of approximately ±2000Pa was applied when the direction of movement was changed. A frequency of approximately 35 to 80Hz was generated in the area where rheumatoid arthritis pain frequently occurs. The effects of reducing pain could be predicted when continuous pressure fluctuations and frequencies are applied repeatedly to the painful location, blood circulation promotion. The results could be used as basic data to understand the principles of aquatic exercise and support the development of underwater exercise programs and developing related medical equipment.
