Estimation Model of Shear Transfer Strength for Uncracked Pull-Off Test Specimens based on Compression Field Theory (비균열 인장재하 시험체의 압축장 이론에 기반한 전단전달강도 산정모델)

  • Two different types of shear-friction tests were classified by external loadings and referred to as a push-off and a pull-off test. In a pull-off test, a tension force is applied in the transverse direction of the test specimen to produce a shear stress at the shear plane. This paper presents a method to evaluate shear transfer strengths of uncracked pull-off specimens. The method is based on the compression field theory and different constitutive laws are applied in some ways to gain accurate shear strengths considering softening effects of concrete struts based on Modified Compression Field Theory (MCFT) and Softened Truss Model (STM). The validity of the proposed method is examined by applying to some selected test specimens in literatures and results are compared with the predicted values. A general agreement is observed between predicted and measured values at ultimate loading stages in initially uncracked pull-off test specimens. A shear strength evaluation formula considering the effective compressive strength of a concrete strut was proposed, and the applicability of the proposed formula was verified by comparing with the experimental results in the literature.

Torsional Resistance of RC Beams Considering Tension Stiffening of Concrete (콘크리트의 인장강성을 고려한 RC보의 공칭비틀림강도)

  • The modified compression field theory is already applied in shear problem at some code(AASHTO-1998) partly. Nominal shear strength of concrete beam is sum of the concrete shcar strength and the steel shear strength in the current design code. But Torsional moment strength of concrete is neglected in the calculation of the nominal torsional moment strength of concrete beam In the current revised code. Tensile stress of concrete strut between cracks is still in effect due to tension stiffening effect. But The tensile stresses of concrete after cracking are neglected in bending and torsion In design. The torsional behavior is similar to the shear behavior in mechanics. Therefore the torsional moment strength of concrete should be concluded in the nominal torsional moment strength of reinforced concrete beam. This paper shows that the torsional moment strength of concrete is caused by the average principal tensile stress of concrete. To verify the validity of the proposed model, the nominal torsional moment strengths according to two ACI codes (89, 99) and proposed model are compared to experimental torsional moment strengths of 55 test specimens found in literature. The nominal torsional moment strengths by the proposed model show the best results.

Bi-Axial Stress Field Analysis on Shear-Friction in RC Members (2축-응력장 이론을 이용한 철근콘크리트 부재의 전단마찰 해석)

  • For a member subjected to direct shear forces, forces are transferred across interface concrete area and resisted by shear transfer capacity. Shear-friction equations in recent concrete structural design provisions are derived from experimental test results where shear-friction capacity is defined as a function of steel reinforcement area contained in the interface. This empirical equation gave too conservative values for concrete members with large amounts of reinforcement. This paper presents a method to evaluate shear transfer strengths and to define ultimate conditions which result in crushing of concrete struts after yielding of longitudinal reinforcement perpendicular to the interface concrete. This method is based on the bi-axial stress field theory where different constitutive laws are applied in various means to gain accurate shear strengths by considering softening effects of concrete struts based on the modified compression-field theory and the softened truss model. The validity of the proposed method is examined by applying to some selected test specimens in literatures and results are compared with recent design code provisions. A general agreement is observed between predicted and measured values at ultimate loading stages in initially uncracked normal-strength concrete test.

  • 과학이나 공학의 발달은 측정기술과 밀접하게 연결되어 있다. 정량적으로 정밀하게 측정된 물리양은 그 물리적현상에 대한 보다 정확한 모델을 유도하고, 이로부터 보다 우수한 측정방법이 개발되고 있다. 때로는 측정기술의 발달은 새로운 이론과 개념을 요구하여 우리의 상식마저 수정하게 된다. 이 펄스를 압축하여 얻은 8femto초광펄스는 지금까지는 접근할 수 없었던 매우 짧은 시간에 일어나는 물리, 화학적인 현상을 측정하고 규명할 수 있는 장을 열었다. 또 극초단 광펄스는 공학적으로는 초고속 광통신과 광신호처리, 초고속 전자소자의 특성 측정등에도 널리 응용되고 있다. 본고에서는 여러가지 극초단 광펄스의 생성원리와 이의 응용에 관해서 검토하고자 한다.

  • 반복하중을 받는 무근 및 철근 콘크리트 부재는 하중의 반복작용에 의해 과도한 균열 및 처짐을 유발하고 결과적으로 전체 구조요소의 파괴를 일으킨다. 따라서 하중반복에 의한 누적손상의 진행과정을 정량적으로 평가하여 철근콘크리트 보의 사용성과 안전성을 평가하는 것이 중요하고 특히 취성적 거동 특성을 갖는 전단거동의 경우에 더욱 의미가 있다. 본 연구에서는 반복전단하중에 의한 누적손상의 정량적 분석을 위하여 평균변형도 및 평균응력개념에 기초한 수정압축장이론(modified compression field theory)에 의하여 누적손상 모델을 제안하였다. 본 연구에서 제안된 모델을 통하여 반복전단하중에 의한 처짐과 변형도의 변화를 평가하는데 유용하게 이용될 것으로 사료된다.

  • In this study, a quantitative analysis technique for the damage process of reinforced concrete beams under repeated shear loading is proposed, which can express the progressively increasing strain and stiffness reduction. The analysis technique is mainly based on the modified compression field theory and scalar damage concept. which describe the strain and stress configuration in the shear zone by considering the 2-dimensional effect, and express the degradation of principal compressive strut by cyclic strain increment, secant modulus decrement, and modifying the parabolic stress strain relationship. The analysis of the response of RC beams under repeated shear-flexure loading has been carried out and compared with the experimental results. The present theory may efficiently be used to evaluate the deflection and strain accumulation under repeated loadings.

  • 플랫 플레이트 시스템은 기둥 주위의 국부적인 응력집중 현상으로 인한 뚫림전단 파괴에 대해 취약하다. 따라서 유한요소해석을 통해 이러한 플랫 플레이트 시스템의 뚫림전단 성능을 평가하고자 한다. 슬래브의 전단을 고려하기 위하여 Reissner-Mindlin 가정을 바탕으로 한 등매개변수 감절점 쉘 요소를 적용하였다. 콘크리트의 재료적 비선형 거동을 고려하기 위해 압축거동은 수정압축장 이론을 적용하였으며 인장강성효과 또한 콘크리트 재료모델에 반영하였다. 기존 실험결과와의 비교를 통해 타당성을 검증하고자 하였다. 비교 결과, 약 16%의 오차율을 보였으며 보강비가 낮은 실험체에 비해 보강비가 높은 실험체가 실험결과에 가까운 값을 예측하는 것으로 나타났다.

Shear Strain Big-Bang of RC Membrane Panel Subjected to Shear (순수전단이 작용하는 RC막판넬의 전단변형률 증폭)

  • Recently, nine $1397{\times}1397{\times}178mm$ RC panels were tested under in-plane pure-shear monotonic loading condition using the Panel Element Tester by Hsu (1997, ACI). By combining the equilibrium, compatibility, and the softened stress-strain relationship of concrete in biaxial state, Modern Truss Model (MCFT, RA-STM) are capable of producing the nonlinear analysis of RC membrane panel through the complicated trial-and-error method with double loop. In this paper, an efficient algorithm with one loop is proposed for the refined Mohr compatibility Method based on the strut-tie failure criteria. This algorithm can be speedy calculated to analyze the shear history of RC membrane element using the results of Hsu test. The results indicate that the response of shear deformation energy at Big Bang of shear strain significantly influenced by the principal compressive stress-strain (crushing failure).

Nonlinear Biaxial Shear Model for Fiber-Reinforced Cementitious Composite Panels (섬유보강 고인성 시멘트 복합체 패널의 2축 전단 비선형 모델)

  • The present study has been proposed a model for the in-plane shear behavior of reinforced(Engineered Cementitious Composite(ECC) panels under biaxial stress states. The model newly considers the high-ductile tensile characteristic of cracked ECC by its multiple micro-cracking mechanism, the compressive strain-softening characteristic of cracked ECC, and the shear transfer mechanism in the cracked interface of ECC element. A series of numerical analyses were performed, and the predicted curves were compared with experimental results. The proposed in-plane shear model, R-ECC-MCFT, was found to be well matched with the experimental results, and it was also demonstrated that reinforced ECC panel showed more improved in-plane shear strength and post peak behavior, in comparing with the conventional reinforced concrete panel.

  • Theoretical and experimental techniques to analyze the two-dimensional liquid motion in a tank are discussed. A Lagrangian FEM with a velocity correction procedure is introduced to describe incompressible free surface fluid flow. A mesh rezoning technique is used to prevent strong distortion of finite elements in the Lagrangian description. Model test technique for sloshing tank is developed using a hydraulic type bench tester. The influence of the variation in the exciting frequency and amplitude are observed for various fill depths. The results of theoretical calculations are compared with those of experiments.
