Consequentiality and Hypothetical Bias in Contingent Valuation Method: An Experimental Investigation (가상가치평가법에서의 결과수렴성과 가상편의)

  • While contingent valuation method (CVM) has been widely used for non-market valuations, it has been argued that it may suffer from hypothetical bias. However, if CVM respondents believe that their responses could affect the real consequence, the method could satisfy consequentiality. If a CVM satisfies a sufficiently high consequentiality, hypothetical bias could disappear as shown by some previous studies. In this study, we experimentally compare the willingness to pay (WTP) for donation of a relatively high consequentiality group with that of a relatively low consequentiality group for Korean university students. We find that both the existence probability and the size of hypothetical bias are lower for the high consequentiality group. This result implies that a CVM for a real policy including environmental policies could be free from hypothetical bias because its consequentiality would be relatively high, and warrants a future field study investigating the effect of consequentiality on hypothetical bias.

  • 본 논문은 새로운 눈동자 추출 기법을 제안한다. 제시된 눈동자 추출기법은 분산과 분산차 그리고 템플릿의 수렴에 의한 방법을 사용하였다. 여기서 사용된 템플릿은 원이며 눈동자가 위치할 것으로 여겨지는 눈 영역을 수렴하면서 탐색한다. 수렴과 탐색은 지정한 반지름으로 수렴하기 전까지 반복해서 행해진다. 이때, 최적해로 선택되는 크기와 위치 값은 분산의 차가 가장 클 때의 템플릿으로부터 얻어진다.

Convergence Characteristics of LMAD Blind Adaptive Equalization Algorithms in Impulsive Noise Environment (임펄스 잡음하에서의 LMAD 블라인드 적응 등화 알고리즘의 수렴 특성)

  • 본 연구에서는 임펄스 잡음 환경 하에서, 대표적인 Bussgang계열의 블라인드 등화 알고리즘인 LMS-Sato 및 LMS-CMA 블라인드 등와 알고리즘의 수렴특성을 컴퓨터 모의 실험을 통하여 살펴보았다. LMAD-Sato 및 LMAD-CMA 블라인드 등화 알고리즘을 유도 하고, 동일한 조건하에서 그 수렴특성을 살펴보았다. 16-QAM 데이터에 대한 실험 결과 임 펄스 잡음 환경 하에서 LMAD 형태의 블라인드 등화 알고리즘이 LMS 형태의 블라인드 등 화 알고리즘 보다 안정적인 수렴특성을 보여 주었다. 또한, normalized 형태의 LMAD-Sato 및 CMA 블라인드 등화 알고리즘을 제안하였으며, 실험 결과 이들 알고리즘들이 임펄스 잡 음 환경에서 LMAD 형태의 알고리즘 보다 더 우수한 수렴 특성을 보여 주었다.

  • 저자는 등각사상을 추하기 위한 기존의 여러 Theodorsen 방정식의 해법 중 가장 유효한 해법으로 알려져 있는 Wegmann의 방법을 다룬바 있다. Wegmann의 방법으로 수치실험을 한 결과 난이도가 높다고 예상되는 문제에 있어 수렴했다가 발산을 하는 불안정현상이 나타났으며 수렴하지 않는 불안정현상의 원인을 분석하여 저주파필터를 적용한 새로운 반복법을 제안하여 Wegmann 방법으로는 발산하는 모든 문제에 있어서 수렴하는 수치실험 결과를 얻었다[1]. 본 논문에서는 저주파필터를 적용한 해법에 의해 수치적으로 수렴한 결과를 이론적으로 증명한다.

  • For the almost co티am convergent series $S_n$ of independent random variables, by investigating the limiting behavior of the tail series, $T_n=S-S_{n-1}=\sum_{i=n}^{\infty}X_i$, the rate of convergence of the series $S_n$ to a random variable S is studied in this paper. More specifically, the equivalence between the tail series weak law of large numbers and a limit law is established for a quasi-monotone decreasing sequence, thereby extending a result of Previous work to the wider class of the norming constants.

  • OSL algorithm has an advantage that repeated algorithm is easily derived, even though penalty function which has a complicated transcendental function. In order to solve this problem, we suggested MPEMG algorithm. However, though this algorithm extend convergence rate of smoothing constant, it include the problem that is not faster than OSL algorithm in the convergence rate increasing penalized log-likelihood. Accordingly, in this paper, we will suggest SMOSLG digital image restoration algorithm which is fast in the convergence rate as well as extend convergence region of smoothing constant. And also we will study the usefulness of algorithm suggested through digital image simulation.

An Analysis of the Absolute Vs. Conditional Convergency Hypothesis and the Determinants of Labor Productivity in Manufacturing Industries: The Korean Case (16개 광역시도별 제조업 부문에 대한 절대적 및 조건부 수렴가설 검증 및 생산성 결정요인 분석)

  • In this paper, we analysed the absolute and conditional convergency hypothesis and the determinants of productivity in manufacturing industries from 2000 to 2009 with 16 provinces and metro-cities by using panel analysis. In terms of convergency hypothesis test, the results show that both of the convergency hypothesis, the absolute vs. conditional hypothesis, reject the null hypothesis(H0) implying the labor productivity of the 16 province and metro-cities converged to the steady state equilibrium. Also, the speed of the absolute and conditional convergency for the 16 province and metro-cities are average 4.4% and 0.73% respectively. In addition, the results of the determinants of the labor productivity in manufacturing industry show that human capital and manufacturing location coefficient affect to the value- added per capita significantly, but government expenditure per capita doesn't affect to the value- added per capita. As for the total factor productivity, government expenditure per capita and fixed capital per capita are important factors, but research and development doesn't. Hence the government has to revise the balanced regional development policy to develop regional manufacturing industries for the vulnerable regions. Also, it requires more study regarding income disparities and productivity.

Effects of International Trade on Poverty Level Convergence among Asian Countries (무역이 아시아 국가 간 빈곤률 수렴에 미치는 영향 분석)

  • This study analyzed whether the poverty level among Asian countries has converged, by using data for the 'globalization period'. In particular, we analyzed the impact of trade on convergence by quantitative analysis using two indices; the head count ratio (H) and the human development index (HDI). The σ-convergence measurement and β-convergence measurement method, commonly used in the field of economic growth, are used for the analysis method. Results show that poverty rates have declined on average during the analysis period and there has been an increase in HDI. It seems that there has been improvement regarding poverty. However, this trend is only an indication of the average trend of Asian countries as a whole. As for the convergence between countries, which is the focus of this study, the HDI index shows the converges among countries while the H index does not show significant convergence among countries. It is also difficult to determine that trade has a statistically significant impact on the poverty rate convergence. However, in the case of HDI convergence, trade has contributed to increasing the convergence rates. This results might show that globalization does not guarantee the convergence among countries, and thus, we need to have additional policy in order to reduce the poverty.

  • In this study, improvement of accuracy in a plain slope analysis is a main object using the bundle adjustment with changing the convergent angles and the configurations of control points when we can't take convergent case because of poor environment around establishment and cultural assets. From converged photographing using the angle of deviation, it was possible to improve accuracy in a plain slope analysis.

  • 진화 연산의 확률적 모델인 베이지안 진화 알고리즘이 개체군의 크기를 1로 제한하고 고정된 차원의 탐색 공간을 갖는 경우, 목표 확률분포에 수렴함이 이전 연구[2]를 통해 증명되었다. 본 논문에서는 개체군의 크기가 2 이상인 경우의 베이지안 진화 알고리즘을 개체군 자체를 하나의 상태로 보는 단일 체인의 베이지안 입자 필터(particle filter)로 변환하여, 입자 필터의 수렴 특성을 이용하여 목표 확률분포에 수렴함을 증명한다.
