  • The Fly-By-Wire system was first applied to the fighter and its inherent advantages lead to the advent of the Fly-By-Wire civil aircraft. Recently even the small jet aircraft shows the trend of adopting the Fly-By-Wire system. In the future, most of the aircraft are expected to be the Fly-By-Wire type. In this paper, the structure and the characteristics of the Fly-By-Wire system applied to the civil aircraft was described. The development trend of the redundant method of the flight control system, data communication system, control surface actuation system and the control laws implemented by the Fly-By-Wire system of the civil aircraft are discussed.

  • The power supply for the anti-aircraft radar homing sensor should allow the system to receive power quickly and stably without the influence of noise. For this purpose, DC-DC converters are widely used for reliable power conversion. Also, switching of DC-DC converters Frequency noise should not cause false alarms and ghosts that may affect the detection and tracking performance of the system, and it should have a check function that can monitor power in real time while the homing sensor is operating. In order to apply to anti-aircraft radar homing sensor, we developed a multi-output switching power supply with maximum output 𐩒𐩒𐩒 W, efficiency 80% or more (@100% load), output power by receiving 28VDC input, and power supply to achieve more than 80% efficiency. A DC-DC converter was applied to this large output, and the multi-output flyback method was applied to the rest of the low-power output.

  • The compact tracking radar system is a pulsed radar tracking system that searches, detects, and tracks targets in real time against aircraft targets with a small RCS(Radar Cross Section) maneuvering at high speed. This paper describes the development of comprehensive performance test equipment to verify the performance of the radar system in a anechoic chamber environment. Describes the design and manufacture of comprehensive performance test equipment to meet requirements, including the generation of simulated target signals to simulate aircraft target signals to verify performance in the laboratory environment of radar systems. It also describes a GUI(Graphic User Interface) program to check performance through a test in conjunction with the tracking radar system. Verify the comprehensive performance test equipment implemented through the performance test.

  • Recently, needs for UAVs and small aircraft and small turbo jet or turbo fan engines for these air-crafts are increasing. Size and weight are the two main restrictions in small air-crafts such as UAV or VLJ propulsion system applications. Therefore, high power density is required in small size and designers come up with unconventional solutions in the design of small aero gas turbine engines. One of the solutions is the usage of highly loaded axial compressors. This paper introduces an aerodynamic design method of a highly loaded axial compressor and its review process. Numerical simulation has been carried out to assess the aerodynamic performance of the compressor.

  • Localization of aerial vehicles and map building of flight environments are key technologies for the autonomous flight of small UAVs. In outdoor environments, an unmanned aircraft can easily use a GPS (Global Positioning System) for its localization with acceptable accuracy. However, as the GPS is not available for use in indoor environments, the development of a SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) system that is suitable for small UAVs is therefore needed. In this paper, we suggest a vision-based SLAM system that uses vision sensors and an AHRS (Attitude Heading Reference System) sensor. Feature points in images captured from the vision sensor are obtained by using GPU (Graphics Process Unit) based SIFT (Scale-invariant Feature Transform) algorithm. Those feature points are then combined with attitude information obtained from the AHRS to estimate the position of the small UAV. Based on the location information and color distribution, a Gaussian process model is generated, which could be a map. The experimental results show that the position of a small unmanned aircraft is estimated properly and the map of the environment is constructed by using the proposed method. Finally, the reliability of the proposed method is verified by comparing the difference between the estimated values and the actual values.

  • The small tracking radar targets the target in a real-time, fast-moving, fast-moving target against aircraft with a large RCS that is maneuvering at low speed and a small RCS aircraft maneuvering at high speed (fighters, drones, helicopters, etc.) It is a pulsed radar that detects and tracks. Performing a performance test on a tracking radar in a real environment is expensive, and it is difficult to quantitatively measure performance in a real environment. Describes the composition of the laboratory environment's comprehensive performance test facility and the main requirements and implementation of each configuration.Anechoic chambers to simulate the room environment, simulation target generator to simulate the signal of the room target, target It is composed of a horn antenna driving device to simulate the movement of a vehicle and a Flight Motion Simulatior (FMS) to simulate the flight environment of a tracking radar, and each design and implementation has been described.

  • The utilisation of small drones is becoming increasingly widespread particularly in the military sector. In this study, STANAG 4586, a standard interface for military unmanned aerial vehicles, was applied to a multicopter-type small drone to examine the suitability of the military system. To accomplish this, a small multi-copter vehicle was designed and manufactured, integrating a flight control computer, ground control system, and data link. Furthermore, flight control and ground control equipment software were developed by applying the STANAG 4586 interface, followed by HILS and flight tests.

  • This work shows the result of numerical simulation on a reacting flow by varying atomization properties which can be obtained from a injector for a small and low power aircraft gas turbine engine. Because the atomization properties mainly affect on the performance of the engine, a lot of efficiency tests are needed when a new injector is developed. Nowadays researches has been actively performed using computational analysis. Using commercial package CFD-ACE+, basic studies on the reacting flow field have been conducted. Those results show that the reaction rate is increased when higher pressure and wider angle spray condition are used. More smaller parcels can also enhance the fuel-air reaction.
