Comparative Study on Operational Speeds Based on Contact Material of Magnetic Contactor (전자접촉기의 접촉소재에 따른 동작속도 비교 연구)

  • Magnetic Contactor (MC) research traditionally focuses on arc erosion influenced by contact material. In recent times, with an increasing demand for efficient utilization of DC devices and swift processing, the operational speed of MCs has become paramount. While AgSnO2 generally displays superior response characteristics to AgCdO, this understanding remains material-specific. In this paper, complete MCs were constructed, and the operational speeds were validated based on the two materials.

  • The CM247LC, a Ni-based superalloy material used for gas turbine hot gas path parts, is casted using directionally solidified technology to analyze the mechanical properties and microstructures through HIP (Hot Isostatic Pressing) and post-heat treatment, and to derive optimal HIP treatment conditions. The CM247LC material is being researched in various ways as an alternative material for prototyping gas turbine blades. In particular, the blade rotating part is exposed and operated in a high temperature and high-pressure environment, and when damaged, it may cause huge economic losses. Therefore, in order to use the CM247LC material as prototyping materials for gas turbine blades, the reliability of the microstructure and mechanical properties must be verified. In this study, after casting rod test specimens using CM247LC material by directionally solidified technology, after that the specimens were performed by HIP treatment and post-heat treatment to test two HIP conditions designed by KEPCO to derive the possibility of prototyping of CM247LC material and optimization of HIP treatment conditions. Additionally, the properties of CM247LC material were compared to the GTD111DS material using for 1,300℃ class gas turbine blades.

  • For manufacturing modern cars, so-called multi-materials, such as aluminum alloy with high-strength steels, are used. For obtaining such materials, a new joining method is required to achieve the multi-material design. Mechanical clinching is one of joining methods used to join the dissimilar materials. The objective of this study is to investigate the characteristics of mechanical clinching of Al5052 alloy to high-strength steels (SPFC440, 590, 780). Using FE-analysis and clinching experiment, the joinability of Al5052 alloy to high-strength steel is evaluated by geometrical shape of mechanical clinched joint, such as neck-thickness and undercut. Further, the joint strength is evaluated by performing a single-lap shear test. The upper high-strength steel SPFC780 was not clinched because of the necking of the upper sheet. The joint strength increased with increasing strength of the upper sheet. For the lower high-strength steel sheet, the joinability and joint strength decreased with increasing strength of the lower sheet.

Evaluation of Mechanical and Vibration Characteristics of Laminated Damping Aluminum Panel for Automobile Components (자동차 부품용 알루미늄 접합 제진 패널의 기계적 특성 및 진동 특성 평가)

  • The objective of this research is to study the mechanical and vibration characteristics of vibration damping aluminum panels for automotive parts. For this purpose, the test and simulation results of aluminum-resin hybrid materials and aluminum sheet materials were compared. Tensile strength and elastic modulus of the hybrid material were approximately 10% lower than aluminum sheet. Also, it was showed that the hybrid material have lower natural frequency than aluminum sheet, and it was confirmed that loss factor increases as the thickness of resin increases. Finally, it is confirmed that the test results and the analysis results are similar with each other and the performance prediction of the materials are possible by FEA.

  • LTCC 소재는 glass/ceramic composite로 구성된다. LTCC 소재에 embedding 되는 고유전율 소재 또한 이와 같은 소재설계를 통하여 무수축 접합이 가능할 것으로 판단된다. 그러나 이에 대한 연구결과가 보고된바 없고 몇몇 $Al_2O_3$의 infiltration에 대한 무수축 소성 관련 선행 연구를 바탕으로 고유전율 소재인 $BaTiO_3$의 무수축 소성이 연구되는 것이 필요한 시점이다. 따라서 본 연구는 저온에서의 glass infiltration에 의한 무수축 $BaTiO_3$ layer의 저온소성특성 및 유전특성을 평가하였다. 실험결과 $785^{\circ}C$에서 glass의 충분한 침투가 확인되며 결정구조에서는 glass/$BaTiO_3$ composite이 형성되었다. 무수축 접합 layer의 소성조건과 glass 두께 변화에 따른 유전특성 및 layer의 결정구조를 비교평가 하였다.

  • At the engineering and industrial areas, the lightweight composite material has been substituted with the metals, such as steel at the structural parts. This composite material has been applied by the adhesive bonding method, as well as the joint methods with rivets, welds or bolts and nuts. The study on the strength characteristics of adhesive interface is necessarily required in order to apply the method to composite materials. CFRP specimens as the fiber reinforced plastic composites were manufactured easily and this study was carried out. The static experiments were performed under the loading conditions of in-plane and out-plane shears with the inhomogeneous composite TDCB specimens with CFRP, aluminum (Al6061), and aluminum foam (Al-foam). Through the result of this study, the durability on the inhomogeneous composite structure with adhesive interface was investigated by examining the fracture characteristic and the point in time.

다차원 구조의 그래핀-산화구리 나노선 복합 필러의 열전도도 특성

  • 그래핀(graphene)은 탄소나노튜브(CNTs)에 비해 가격 경쟁력이 있고 우수한 광투과성과 전기 및 열 전도성을 갖고 있어 반도체 소재, 방열 소재, 접점 소재 등에 적용 가능성이 높은 재료로 주목받고 있다. 특히 모바일 디바이스의 소형화, 고집적화 등의 이슈로 인해 그래핀 소재의 방열 소재 적용을 위해 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 한편 산화 구리 나노선(CuO Nanowire)은 전기 및 열전도도가 우수하고 1차원 나노 구조는 부피대비 큰 표면적, 종횡비가 커서 뛰어난 열전도 구조로서 방열 소재로 응용되기 좋은 조건을 갖고 있다. 본 연구에서는 2차원 구조의 그래핀 나노플레이트(Graphene Nanoplatelet)와 1차원 구조의 CuO NW를 하이브리드화를 통해 열전도도 향상를 개선시키고자 하였다. 소재 합성은 GNP에 Cu 무전해 도금을 진행한 후 열산화 방식을 적용하여 CuO NW를 직접 성장시키는 방식으로 진행하였다. 합성된 GNP-CuONWs 다차원 나노구조체의 열전도도 측정은 에폭시에 분산시켜 레이져 플레쉬법을 이용하였다. 미세 구조 관찰 결과, CuO NW 성장 거동은 열처리 온도 및 시간 그리고 O2 가스의 순환 환경이 주요인자로 작용하는 것을 확인하였다. 열전도도 향상은 다차원 구조의 특성으로 인해 면접촉과 선접촉이 동시에 이루어졌기 때문인 것으로 분석되었으며, 이러한 CuO NWs morphology와 열전도도 향상과의 상관 관계에 대해 논의할 것이다.

A Study on the Conceptual Design for the Material Substitution of Rolling Stock Structures (소재대체를 이용한 철도 차량구조의 개념설계 연구)

  • This paper developed the theoretical method to predict structural performances and weight reduction rates of a carbody when its materials should be substituted. For the material substitution design of the carbody, the bending, axial and twisting deformations are evaluated under the constant stiffness and strength conditions. For the design of the primary structures such as the center beams, the cross beams and the cantrails, the bending and axial deformations are investigated under the condition of the constant bending stiffness, the constant bending or buckling strength by considering both the material properties and the cross sectional shapes. The developed indices to measure the weight reduction by the material substitution give good informations on the weak and strong points of a carbody design.

Elongation Behavior of Polymeric Materials for Membrane Applications Using Molecular Dynamics (분자동역학을 이용한 분리막용 소재로 사용되는 고분자 소재의 신장거동 연구)

  • Recently, computer simulation research has been rapidly increasing due to the development of computer and software technology. In particular, various computational simulation results related to polymers, which were previously limited by problems of the number of atoms and model size, are being published. In this study, a study was conducted to analyze the mechanical properties, one of the important properties for using a polymer material as a membrane, using molecular dynamics (MD) simulation. To this end, polyethylene (PE) and polystyrene (PS), which are commercial polymer materials with widely reported related properties, were selected as polymer models and the tensile properties of each polymer were compared through the difference in main chain length. Through the density, radius of gyration, and scattering analysis, it was found that the model produced in this study was in good agreement with the mechanical property trends obtained in the actual experiment. It is expected to enable the prediction of mechanical properties of various polymer materials for membrane fabrication.
