Consumer knowledge regarding country-of-origin labeling for restaurants (음식점 원산지표시제에 대한 소비자의 지식수준에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: Because of recent global and domestic issues regarding the safety of food, there is growing concern over food safety and interest in the country-of-origin for food ingredients from restaurants. This study was conducted to reveal the influence of consumer level of knowledge and awareness regarding restaurants and the country-of-origin labeling. Methods: To accomplish this, a primary survey of adults aged over 20 years old was conducted to measure customers' knowledge regarding country-of-origin labeling for restaurants. Respondents were then divided into a lower group and an upper group based on their level of knowledge to evaluate significant differences between groups. A total of 437 of 460 questionnaires were analyzed. Results: The average knowledge score regarding country-of-origin labeling for restaurants was 6.3 out of 10. Additionally, there were significant differences between the lower and upper group in terms of the final education level and occupation. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop guidelines and public relations for country-of-origin labeling of restaurants.

The Effect of the Consumer's Perceived Risk on the Level of Information Search (제품유형에 따른 소비자의 구매위험지각이 정보탐색수준에 미치는 영향 - 지식수준의 조절역할을 중심으로 -)

  • Despite the popularity of e-commerce, the understanding of preferred product types for information searches and purchase on the internet are not sufficient. This paper studies the effect of risk perception on information search behavior through online only, offline only, and on-offline together. Specially, this study classifies product types into search goods, experience goods, and credence goods. The study attempts to determine how the relationship between the perceived risk and the information search is influenced by the product knowledge level. The results show that the higher the risk perceptions about experience goods and credence goods, the more the consumer searches information through online and offline together when the consumer's knowledge level is low. When the consumer's knowledge level is high, however, the higher the risk perception regarding search goods, the more the consumer searches information through online only.

Development and Application of Internet-based Consumer Education Program for Children (인터넷 기반 아동소비자 교육프로그램 개발 및 적용)

  • This study presents a development of internet-based consumer education program for children. We also investigate how this program affects on the children's consumer competency and how much children are interested in this program. This program consists of 6 domains: the concept of consumer. wants and scarcity. advertisement, tips on purchasing. consumer's rights. and consumer's problem imd solutions. In order to attract children. multimedia data such as pictures. drawings. and animations were included in designing the screens. The subjects of this study were 40 children at forth grade to participate in consumer education program. Surveys were conducted twice to collect data for consumer competency and children's interest in the program. According to the results of t-test. We found that consumer education has a positive effect on consumer knowledge and consumer-role attitude but has not a positive effect on consumer skill. We also found that children's interest on this program was very high.

Could a Product with Diverged Reviews Ratings Be Better?: The Change of Consumer Attitude Depending on the Converged vs. Diverged Review Ratings and Consumer's Regulatory Focus (평점이 수렴되지 않는 리뷰의 제품들이 더 좋을 수도 있을까?: 제품 리뷰평점의 분산과 소비자의 조절초점 성향에 따른 소비자 태도 변화)

  • Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the size of the e-commerce has been increased rapidly. This pandemic, which made contact-less communication culture in everyday life made the e-commerce market to be opened even to the consumers who would hesitate to purchase and pay by electronic device without any personal contacts and seeing or touching the real products. Consumers who have experienced the easy access and convenience of the online purchase would continue to take those advantages even after the pandemic. During this time of transformation, however, the size of information source for the consumers has become even shrunk into a flat screen and limited to visual only. To provide differentiated and competitive information on products, companies are adopting AR/VR and steaming technologies but the reviews from the honest users need to be recognized as important in that it is regarded as strong as the well refined product information provided by marketing professionals of the company and companies may obtain useful insight for product development, marketing and sales strategies. Then from the consumer's point of view, if the ratings of reviews are widely diverged how consumers would process the review information before purchase? Are non-converged ratings always unreliable and worthless? In this study, we analyzed how consumer's regulatory focus moderate the attitude to process the diverged information. This experiment was designed as a 2x2 factorial study to see how the variance of product review ratings (high vs. low) for cosmetics affects product attitudes by the consumers' regulatory focus (prevention focus vs. improvement focus). As a result of the study, it was found that prevention-focused consumers showed high product attitude when the review variance was low, whereas promotion-focused consumers showed high product attitude when the review variance was high. With such a study, this thesis can explain that even if a product with exactly the same average rating, the converged or diverged review can be interpreted differently by customer's regulatory focus. This paper has a theoretical contribution to elucidate the mechanism of consumer's information process when the information is not converged. In practice, as reviews and sales records of each product are accumulated, as an one of applied knowledge management types with big data, companies may develop and provide even reinforced customer experience by providing personalized and optimized products and review information.

사회적기업에 대한 대학생의 자아이미지 일치성과 가치일치성이 애호도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구: SEN 동아리를 중심으로

  • 최근 사회적기업의 빠른 성장세와 중요성에도 불구하고 대부분의 사회적기업은 영세한 사업규모, 정부에의 재정적 의존, 전문 경영 인력과 지식의 부재, 소비자의 낮은 인지도 등 많은 한계를 갖고 있다. 따라서 사회적기업의 경제적 자립을 위한 마케팅 분야의 실증적 연구가 필요하지만 현재 이에 대한 선행연구는 미미한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 (1) 사회적기업의 이미지와 소비자의 자아이미지 일치성, (2) 사회적기업의 상품에 대한 소비자의 기대수준과 실제 성과와의 기능적 일치성, (3) 사회적기업 상품이 내포하는 사회적 가치와 소비자의 가치일치성이 사회적기업에 대한 고객만족과 애호도에 미치는 영향을 살피고, 이 과정에서 사회적기업 동아리 소속 여부의 조절적 역할을 확인하여 사회적기업의 장기적인 마케팅에 시사점을 주고자 하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자아이미지 일치성, 기능적 일치성, 가치 일치성은 모두 사회적기업의 소비자가 사회적기업과 그 상품에 대한 만족에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 애호도를 형성하게 한다. 둘째, 사회적 기업 동아리 소속여부는 자아이미지 일치성, 기능적 일치성, 가치일치성이 고객만족에 미치는 영향의 민감도를 낮추는 조절변수로 나타나 사회적기업에 대한 만족에 있어 동아리 활동이 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 파악되었다.

Development and Effect of Consumer Education Program for the Middle School Creative Extra Curricular Activities (중학교 창의적 재량활동 시간을 활용한 소비자교육 프로그램 개발 및 효과)

  • This study was to develope and applicate the consumer education program with appropriate level for middle school students so that they could take systematic consumer education by using creative-discretionary activity. The procedure of this study was researching and analyzing the degree of learner's need and choosing the contents of education involved with the characteristics of adolescent consumers. This education program was performed at creative-discretionary activity class with the 3th grade of middle school. To evaluate the effect of education program, we compared with the difference of student's knowledge and attitude before and after this program was performed. Although there was no significant difference, student's knowledge and attitude was improved much better. And there marked a high satisfaction rate of 3.87 about the overall method of consumer education.

The Value, Knowledge, and Sustainable Consumption Behavior of Fashion Consumers (패션 소비자의 가치, 지식 및 지속가능한 소비행동에 관한 연구)

  • This study examines the value, knowledge and sustainable consumption behavior of fashion consumers. The study shows that universalism/harmony, security/benevolence, power, and tradition/faith have positive effects on buying/usage behavior; however, hedonism/wealth has a negative effect. Stimulation/self-direction and universalism/harmony positively influence boycott behavior; however, power has a negative influence. Universalism/harmony and politeness have positive impacts on care/disposing behavior. Consumer knowledge about fashion related environmental problems, labor practices, ethical issues and sustainable environment knowledge influence sustainable buying/usage behavior; in addition, knowledge about ethical issues and sustainable environmental problems positively influence boycott and care/disposing behavior. Moreover, there were significant differences in values, knowledge, and consumption behavior by age.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the recent consumption patterns and consumer's perception changes in the Korean beef market and thus to analyze whether there was any structural changes in beef consumption patterns in Korea. This current survey was conducted to examine consumer attitudes toward factors determining beef purchasing and improving distribution system. First, it is vital to cut beef production costs and expand high-quality beef in order to compete with imported beef. Second, it is also important to endeavor to enhance th safety of beef. Also consumers demand more information on the quality of beef. Third, promotion activities are very important to maintain Hanwoo beef market power. Forth, it is important to prevent imported beef from being sold as Hanwoo beef at retailers. Finally, we should pay more attention to maintain beef consumption data.

A Study on Factors Influencing Consumer Purchase Intentions and Purposes in Direct-To-Consumer Genetic Test (소비자의뢰 유전자검사 구매 의도 및 목적에 영향을 미치는 요인 연구)

  • Innovation of genomics technology has recently been extended to Direct To Consumer Genetic Test (DTC-GT) which consumers purchase without requesting the service on medical institutes. In 2016, Korea has introduced the DTC-GT but the market size is small comparing to global market. This study analyzes consumers' purchase intentions and purposes and their influential factors based on 2018 consumer survey. According to the results of binominal and multinominal logistic regression, knowledge after purchase, attitude on medical care benefit, health status are statistically significant on purchase intentions. Purchase purposes are different on age group and related on medical care rather than health care. These results imply that DTC-GT is needed to improve consumer satisfaction, re-purchase and effective care service. This paper is expected to contribute on strategic directions for the new DTC-GT product development.

Analyses of Expert Group on the 4th Industrial Revolution: The Perspective of Product Lifecycle Management (4차 산업혁명에 관한 전문가그룹 분석: 제품수명주기관리의 관점에서)

  • The smart factory is an important axis of the 4th industrial revolution. Smart factory is a system that induces the maximum efficiency and effectiveness of production using the IoT and intelligent sensing systems. The product lifecycle management technique is a method that can actively reflect the consumer's requirements in the smart factory and manage the entire process from the consumer to the post management. There have been many studies on product lifecycle management, but studies on how to organize product lifecycle management knowledge domains in preparation for the era of the 4th industrial revolution were insufficient. This study analyzed the opinions of a group of experts preparing for the 4th industrial revolution in terms of product lifecycle management. The impact of the 4th industrial revolution on the detailed knowledge areas of product lifecycle management was investigated. The changes in product lifecycle management were summarized using a qualitative data analysis technique for a group of experts. Based on the opinions of experts, the product lifecycle management, which consists of a total of 30 detailed knowledge areas, was prepared to supplement or prepare for the 4th industrial revolution. This study investigates changes in product lifecycle management in preparation for the 4th industrial revolution in the knowledge domain of the existing defined product life cycle management. In future research, it is necessary to redefine the knowledge domain of product life cycle management suitable for the era of the 4th industrial revolution and investigate the perception of experts. Considering the social culture and technological change factors of the 4th industrial revolution, the scope and scope of product life cycle management can be newly defined.
