Development of Collaborative Filtering based User Recommender Systems for Water Leisure Boat Model Design (수상레저용 보트 설계를 위한 협력적 필터링 기반 사용자 추천시스템 개발)

  • Recently, demand for various leisure sports gradually increases, as people's sense of values changes into leisure-centered one according to the change of given social circumstance and the change of customer needs all over the world. The actual condition is that an interest and participation rate especially in water leports during the summer increases. And needs for various hull design of standardized boat for water leisure increase. Therefore, this paper is intended to develop a recommendation system to design a boat for water leisure by using the collaborative filtering technique in order to make it possible to actively cope with the change of various customer needs for hull design. To this end, emotion relating to kayak design was selected through consumer survey, and emotion was derived by factor analysis and assessment, and then a kayak design layout in the aspect of customer's emotional preference was presented. Besides, an analysis was made according to the elements such as hull, body, and propulsion system of kayak in order to select emotional words according to the kayak design reflecting user's preference, and then a boat model for water leisure in conformance with user's preference was presented.

A Study on Apparel Benefits and Buying Behavior according to Values and Lifestyles (주부의 가치관에 따른 소비자 유형별 의복추구혜택과 구매관련행동 특성)

  • The purposes of this study were 1) to classify female consumers on VALS, 2) to identify the differences of psychological characteristics and demographics among the classified groups, and 3) to investigate the apparel benefits, buying behavior, shopping practices and psychological characteristics of each groups. For the study, a sample of 340 female consumers participated in this survey research. The data was analyzed utilizing descriptive statistics, factor analysis, cluster analysis, $\chi^2$-test, one-way ANOVA and Duncan test. Seven dimensions of values were identified by factor analysis: Consumption-oriented, Achievement-oriented , Diligence/sincerity-oriented, Pessimistic value tendencious, conservative/conventional value oriented, Dignity-oriented and Socialite-oriented. Based on these dimensions female consumers classified into three clusters: inner values-directed group, passive/inactive group, and achievement-oriented group. Achievement-oriented group showed the highest scores in optimum stimulation level and materialism, and tended to be younger and be employed than the other two groups. Both inner values-directed group and achievement-oriented group showed higher scores in self-expression/individuality and quality out of five apparel benefit than passive/inactive group. Innovative communicators, fashion innovators and fashion opinion leaders were mostly in the achievement-oriented group, while fashion followers and fashion indifferents were mostly in the passive/inactive group. It was revealed that achievement-oriented group had a larger number of fashionable clothing items and experienced more activities in vogue. Also, there were significant group differences in shopping practice, such as average monthly allowance, number of annual purchase clothing items.

  • Design takes concrete form from the things which are not yet exist to the molded reality. Creation of value which is accompanied by the rational value could be possible only through the searching examination of the basic concept. All designs are under circumstances because the results and the character of the problems are different under the given conditions and circumstances which are the characteristic of the design. The aim of this study is searching for the differential design conce- pt which is the most appropriate and reasonable in the basic design process in which the phase of the analysis, synthesis and evaluation of the problem. First of all the pursuit value of the times and the change of the view point of value of the product design. How the pursuit value of times were searched and analyzed. Analyze the successful product design realization of the typical trend of the modern design which are 3-2. function-focused design, 3-3. emotion-centered design, 3-4. image communicative design through the metaphor, 3-5. environmental affinity design. On the base of the case analysis how to apply the differential design concept which is coming as a trend in the future society which are sustainable developing society was examined closely. The outcome through the analysis of the success cases are as follows, \circled1 the value of the spirit of the times should be emphasized as the design image, \circled2 environmental appropriateness should be taken into consideration as the first primary factor, \circled3 the realization of value of the fulfillment of differential consumer's needs, \circled4 lead to prolong the life cycle of the product, \circled5 promote the sustaining growth of enterprise, \circled6 user-centered product value should be the first consideration. \circled7 It is necessary to overcome the cultural andinguistic barriers and to reflect the metaphor which people remember well. \circled8 The application of human's true character should be decided beforehand. It is the commonness of values of times and customs. \circled9 The differentiated design concept which meets our mental satisfaction, not material one, will be required. In addition to this the creative and differentiated design concepts which are accompanied by the good design factor under the base of product could achieve the emotional consensus from the consumers. Structural Properties of Social Network and Diffusion of Product WOM: A Sociocultural Approach (사회적 네트워크 구조특성과 제품구전의 확산: 사회문화적 접근)

  • I. Research Objectives: Most of the previous studies on diffusion have concentrated on efficacy of WOM communication with the use of variables at individual level (Iacobucci 1996; Midgley et al. 1992). However, there is a paucity of studies which investigated network's structural properties as antecedents of WOM from the perspective of consumers' sociocultural propensities. Against this research backbone, this study attempted to link the network's structural properties and consumer' WOM behavior on cross-national basis. The major research objective of this study was to examine the relationship between network properties and WOM by comparing Korean and Chinese consumers. Specific objectives of this research are threefold; firstly, it sought to examine whether network properties (i.e., tie strength, centrality, range) affect WOM (WOM intention and quality of WOM). Secondly, it aimed to explore the moderating effects of cutural orientation (uncertainty avoidance and individuality) on the relationship between network properties and WOM. Thirdly, it substantiates the role of innovativeness as antecedents to both network properties and WOM. II. Research Hypotheses: Based on the above research objectives, the study put forth the following research hypotheses to validate. ${\cdot}$ H 1-1 : The Strength of tie between two counterparts within network will positively influence WOM effectivenes ${\cdot}$ H 1-2 : The network centrality will positively influence the WOM effectiveness ${\cdot}$ H 1-3 : The network range will positively influence the WOM effectiveness ${\cdot}$ H 2-1 : The consumer's uncertainty avoidance tendency will moderate the relationship between network properties and WOM effectiveness ${\cdot}$ H 2-2 : The consumer's individualism tendency will moderate the relationship between network properties and WOM effectiveness ${\cdot}$ H 3-1 : The consumer's innovativeness will positively influence the social network properties ${\cdot}$ H 3-2 : The consumer's innovativeness will positively influence WOM effectiveness III. Methodology: Through a pilot study and back-translation, two versions of questionnaire were prepared, one in Korean and the other in Chinese. The chinese data were collected from the chinese students enrolled in language schools in Suwon city in Korea, while Korean data were collected from students taking classes in a major university in Seoul. A total of 277 questionnaire were used for analysis of Korean data and 212 for Chinese data. The reason why Chinese students living in Korea rather than in China were selected was based on two factors: one was to neutralize the differences (ie, retail channel availability) that may arise from living in separate countries and the second was to minimize the difference in communication venues such as internet accessibility and cell phone usability. SPSS 12.0 and AMOS 7.0 were used for analysis. IV. Results: Prior to hypothesis verification, mean differences between the two countries in terms of major constructs were performed with the following result; As for network properties (tie strength, centrality and range), Koreans showed higher scores in all three constructs. For cultural orientation traits, Koreans scored higher only on uncertainty avoidance trait than Chinese. As a result of verifying the first research objective, confirming the relationship between network properties and WOM effectiveness, on Korean side, tie strength(Beta=.116; t=1.785) and centrality (Beta=.499; t=6.776) significantly influenced on WOM intention, and similar finding was obtained for Chinese side, with tie strength (Beta=.246; t=3.544) and centrality (Beta=.247; t=3.538) being significant. However, with regard to WOM argument quality, Korean data yielded only centrality (Beta=.82; t=7.600) having a significant impact on WOM, whereas China showed both tie strength(Beat=.142; t=2.052) and centrality(Beta=.348; t=5.031) being influential. To answer for the second research objective addressing the moderating role of cultural orientation, moderated regression anaylsis was performed and the result showed that uncertainty avoidance moderated between network range and WOM intention for both Korea and China, But for Korea, the uncertainty avoidance moderated between tie strength and WOM quality, while for China it moderated between network range and WOM intention. And innovativeness moderated between tie strength and WOM intention for Korea but it moderated between network range and WOM intention for China. As a result of analysing for third research objective, we found that for Korea, innovativeness positively influenced centrality only (Beta=.546; t=10.808), while for China it influenced both tie strength (Beta=.203; t=2.998) and centrality(Beta=.518; t=8.782). But for both countries alike, the innovativeness influenced positively on WOM (WOM intention and WOM quality). V. Implications: The study yields the two practical implications. Firstly, the result suggests that companies targeting multinational customers need to identify segments which are susceptible to the positive WOM and WOM information based on individual traits such as uncertainty avoidance and individualism and based on that, develop marketing communication strategy. Secondly, the companies need to divide the market on Roger's five innovation stages and based on this information, enforce marketing strategy which utilizes social networking tools such as public media and WOM. For instance, innovator and early adopters, if provided with new product information, will be able to capitalize upon the network advantages and thus add informational value to network operations using SNS or corporate blog.

우리나라 직장 정신보건제도의 방향과 전망

  • 우리 사회에서 일정 정도 이상의 사회와 가정에서의 기능상의 부적응을 초래하는 정신적 문제는 경제활동인구에 있어 가장 흔한 보건의료상의 문제일 것으로 추측되고 있으나, 현재까지는 정신보건제도 마련에 있어 가장 극심한 부적응을 보이는 정신적 장애를 지닌 환자를 위주로 수용시설과 지역사회에서의 재활과 관리에 그 초점을 두어 왔다. 즉 직업스트레스와 같은 일시적인 사회심리적 갈등으로 인한 신체증상의 호소나 알을 및 약물중독으로 인한 사고의 발생으로부터 일생동안 관리되어야 하는 지능저하나 학습장애와 같은 만성적인 문제에 이르기까지 다양한 스펙트럼을 보이는 사업장과 지역사회에서의 정신적 문제들 중 그 일부만이 제도적으로 관리되어 왔다. 실제 그 동안 직장 내 정신보건문제에 대한 행정적 관심은 일부 장애인의 취업 문제를 제외하고는 없었다고 하여야 할 것이다. 그러나 한편으로 우리 사회의 산업구조와 경제사회적 조건의 변화에 따른 노동내용과 조건상 유연화의 증대가 많은 직장에서 노동강화로 이어진다는 점, 그리고 가족 및 교류집단을 비롯한 전통적인 사회적 지지구조가 와해되고 있다는 점과 정신적 문제로 인한 기능상 부적응의 척도가 한편으로 사회적 가치관의 변화에 따라 계속 그 영역이 넓어지는 방향으로 변화하고 있다는 점등에서 직장 내 정신보건 문제는 앞으로 더욱 그 비중이 커질 것으로 판단되고 있다. 문제의 심각성에 대한 관심이 요구되는 현재의 시점에서 제도적 접근에 대한 검토 또한 시작되어야 할 것으로 판단되고 있다. 현재까지 기업 내에서 이루어지고 있는 정신보건관리의 현황을 단편적으로 파악해 보았을 때, 단지 일부 기업에서 취업시 내지는 부서 배치시 성격검사를 비롯하여 적성검사를 실시하고 있으며, 기업윤리확보 차원에서 비정규적으로 사기앙양을 주목적으로 하는 집단적인 교육이나 단체훈련이 이루어지고 있으나, 정신심리적 문제를 개인적 차원에서 그리고 또한 조직적 차원에서 체계화된 프로그램으로 관리하고 있는 사례는 아직 없다. 앞으로 직장 내 정신보건문제에 대하여 제도적인 접근을 하기 위하여서는 다음과 같은 세가지 조건들이 구비되어야 할 것으로 판단된다. 첫 번째로 문제점 그 자체의 내용과 그 규모에 대한 정확한 파악과 예측이 가능하여야 한다. 즉 제도 전체의 운영을 객관적으로 평가하고 개선할 수 있는 기제가 함께 있어야 제도가 실제적인 기능을 할 수 있다는 최소한의 목적이 달성될 수 있다. 두 번째로 문제점의 관리를 위한 효과적인 개입내용 및 개입지점의 확보가 가능하여야 한다. 특히 직장 내에서 수행할 수 있는 프로그램이 개발되어야 하며, 이는 시범사업과 시장을 통한 소비자, 즉 사업주들의 자발적인 선택을 통하여 검토되고 걸려져야만 한다. 마지막으로 제도 운영의 대상, 특히 정신보건문제를 안고 있는 노동자들의 자발적인 동의가 확보될 수 있어야 한다. 이는 정신적 문제가 안고 있는 편견과 그로 인한 차별이 가져다주는 문제를 함께 고려하면서 제도가 운영되어야 하며, 이에 있어 제도 운영상 노동자들의 주체적인 참여가 필요하기 때문이다. 이상 고려되는 직장 내 정신보건문제에 대한 제도적 접근을 담기 위하여서는 프로그램 개발이나 전문가 집단의 양성과 같은 단순한 기술적 접근과 이들의 인허가 및 사업화에 따른 적용기준 및 의무의 설정과 같은 제도적 접근에 그쳐서는 그 실효성을 담보하지 못할 것으로 판단된다. 보다 중요한 것은 이러한 정신보건문제에 대한 노사의 공감대를 이루어 내는 것이며, 사회 전반적인 인식의 확산과 더불어 바람직한 관리모습에 대한 사회적 가치관을 도출해 내는 것이 제도적인 접근의 성공을 보장할 수 있는 기반 조건이 될 것이다. 이러한 점에 있어 정신보건문제를 바라보는 기존의 가치관이 부정적이고 고착화된 모습만을 강조하였으나, 이제는 점차 긍정적이 사회활동에 수반되는 역동적인 모습으로서 비추어지는 것이 많아진다는 측면에서 그 전망을 밝게 하여 주고 있다.

  • Recently, in the process of distribution industry's growth, distribution environment is changing rapidly by appearance of new business condition and strategy of multiple store. According to the intensification of competition, recently large discount stores are developing private brand(PB) products for the purpose of product differentiation and profitability. But after the economic crisis in 1997, young housewives and salaried man's that have rational and practical buying pattern become the core consumer's in the large discount stores. Hence low price strategy is not new things for the consumer's anymore. In addition to, acquiring new consumer, many discount stores are establishing new stores at the rural area. But they undergo hardships of establishing new stores at the rural area because of disparity consumer's behavior, income level and consumption's pattern among regions. So, when they try to establish new stores, they need to know consumer's behavior at the region. Therefore the purpose of this study is to analyze preference property for the private brand(PB) of large discount stores in Gyeonggi-Do.

  • The change from people's work-centered values to their leisure-centered values leads into the change in their life styles. In the circumstance, people's participation into sports activities seems to be an important means to improve their quality of life. Along with the change of the times, more people take part in water leisure sports including kayak. As a result, people's needs for various designs of water leisure goods are on the rise. In this sense, it is necessary to come up with strategies to actively respond to such a change. In this paper, we proposed a user decision-making support system for designing kayaks for leisure. Based on the previous studies and literatures and a questionnaire survey with consumers, it chose the sensitivity related to design. By conducting factor analysis and evaluation, it drew sensitivity and proposed kayak design layouts in the aspect of customer sensitivity preference. It is expected that the result of this study will be used not only for kayak design, but as a design guide for the equipment of water leisure sports, and will be applied for user-friendly design.

  • People's values as well as their behavioral form of using a product are changing due to the rapid introduction of diverse cultures and the Five-day workweek system. The single and the married are the subjects of this study: it is aimed to evaluate and analyze, thus grasping their difference in behavioral form of using a washing machine, the main factors they consider to be important when purchasing one, and the level of satisfaction they get from their own washers. A questionnaire was used as a tool for a better Factor Analysis and Frequency Analysis research. There were 6 essential factors which unmarried people take into consideration when purchasing a washer: economical efficiency, measure of capacity, design, type, brand and advertising, function. On the other hand, economical efficiency, convenience, measure of capacity, function, and type was what the married thought would be the 6 central factors.

  • It has gone that the age of making the products focusing on only the capacity or efficiency, We face the age that only the products which fit the sensitivity of customers. Now, customers attach importance to impressive design, convenience, and satisfaction as well as the quality, cost, and capacity of the products. Under the much plentiful life, it has a limit of exciting customer's interest to pursue the quality, cost and capacity, so we need new design development which can produce more different, better, and newer mood. Recently, past synchronism and standardization have collapsed according to the change of sense of value, customers make much account of their own sensitivity comparing with at any time in much information and visual stimulus, and they would like to purchase the products which satisfy their sensitivity as a way of their image creation and settlement of wants.

  • technologies have now placed high hopes and expectations on the significance of design more than in any other time. This is because under current trends where technically and functionally advanced technologies are equalized, our success in the international markets depends on how we can differentiate designs to meet consumers'needs. In this research, we sought to forecast modern and future trends in automotive design, and thus secure competitiveness in automotive design. We first analyzed the movement of design value in respective times following changes in design trends (one aspect of social change in the 21st century), and consequent changes in consumers' value\ulcorner We further compared and researched design trends for automobiles and products by time and region, through surveys, analysis and collation of automotive design phenomena from various aspects recently occurring in advanced countries such as the U.S.A., European national and Japan.
