  • The present work describes four new species of oribatid mites, which were collected from Sangumburi in Chejudo, Korea. They were Brasilobates sangumburiensis sp. nov., Xenillus multisetosus sp. nov., Nippobodes tamlaensis sp. nov., and Nippobodes chejuensis sp. nov.

  • In the course of the taxonomic study on onbatid mites from Korea, the author obtained one nau genus, 5 new species, 1 new subspecies, and 5 species unrecorded in Korea for th first time. They are Koreonbates foliatus gen. n, sp. n., Hermannio neotricha sp. n., Xyiobates geonjiensis sp. n., Defectamems sungohi sp. n., Protoripoda flagellato sp. n., Liocarus gommatus coreanus ssp. n., Liocarus polychoihomus Wen, 1991, Tectodamoeus armatus Aok, 1984, T striatus Enami et Aoki, 1988. Oripoda trilabiata Hammer, 1961, and Dometorino tuberculata Aoki, 1984. And keys to the species and subspec~es of genera Liacorus, Defectamems, and Protoripoda are present All the specimens are deposited at the Lab of Plant Protection, Coli, ot Agr, Won Kwang Univ., hi, Korea. The Shopping Experience Values at Department Stores and Their Effects on the Brand Asset and the Store Loyalty (백화점 쇼핑경험 가치가 브랜드자산 및 점포충성도에 미치는 영향)

  • One of the largest changes in retail business in Korea since the distribution market was opened in the mid 1990s is the appearance of foreign discount stores and the rapid growth of department stores. Discount stores and department stores have changed the structure of distribution business which has been primarily made up of traditional markets and supermarkets that have been the main retail markets in Korea. The retail business is changing from just a product purchasing place to a space where various values such as pleasure, happiness, etc. are provided. Therefore the purpose of this research is to grasp the effects that the shopping experience values at department stores have on the department brands, images, and awareness by means of theoretical and empirical research. Especially I classified the shopping experience values, an independent variable, into aesthetics, pleasures, consumers' interests, and services' excellence, and I verified whether they have a meaningful effects on the brand recognition and image, an endogenous variable, and the store royalty, a final various. A total of 235 questionnaires were used for analysis to test the research hypotheses. The positive analysis was done with SPSS 17.0K and AMOS 17.0 covariance structure analysis was performed. As a result, variables of the shopping experience values except consumers' interests seemed to have not only right influences on recognition and image, but also right influences on store royalty. Therefore this research shows that department store customers not only make use of department stores to buy products, but also visit department stores to get the values of pleasure and happiness, and that these aspects have a greater influence on the department store's image, recognition, or royalty in a sense.

Monitoring of Trans Fatty Acid and Cholesterol of Bakery Products Sold at Retail in Seoul Area (서울지역 소매업체 제빵류의 트랜스지방 및 콜레스테롤 조사)

  • The objective of this study was to analyze contents of trans fatty acid and cholesterol of bakery products (bread: 17, pastry: 20, and whipping cream cake: 17) sold at retail in Seoul area. The average values of crude fat contents in bakery products were as follows [mean (minimum-maximum), %)]; bread 6.46 (3.51~8.69), pastry 16.23 (3.55~25.56), and whipping cream cake 16.26 (8.61~31.58). Palmitic acid was the most abundant fatty acid in these products. The average values of saturated fat (SFA) contents and unsaturated fat acid (USFA) contents in these items were as follows [(mean SFA ${\pm}$ SD%] bread (54.04 ${\pm}$ 5.27), pastry (53.41 ${\pm}$ 4.80), and whipping cream cake(70.09 ${\pm}$ 8.64). The high contents of trans fatty acid was analyzed in whipping cream cake. The average values of cholesterol contents in bakery products were as follows [mean (minimum-maximum), %)]; bread 2,36 (0.0~12.86), pastry 8.11 (0.0~42.80), and whipping cream cake 30.55(0.0~132.99).

Discrimination of Genuine Sesame Oil from Imitations in the Consumer Market (유통되는 참기름의 진위여부 판별을 위한 분석 연구)

  • Fifty-four sesame oils were assayed for authenticity by measurement of linolenic acid content (which is less than 0.5% by weight in genuine oil). Sesame oils (A-F) from major companies and oils (G-J) extracted from sesame seeds in our laboratory were used as standards for comparison. By fatty acid composition analysis, 33 of 54 samples showed levels of linolenic acid more than 0.5% by weight. In addition, the ratio of linoleic acid to oleic acid (C18:2/C18:1) in samples A-F ranged from 1.05 to 1.12, whereas the 54 collected samples showed a wide range of ratios, from 0.92 to 2.21.

  • Distribution status and economic analysis of packed radish in Korean markets(Chunbuk and Kangwon in producing area and Taebaek, Kyunggi, and Cheongyang for comparing tile quality) from November, 1999 to April, 2000 was surveyed. Distribution method and marketing of radish was different by producing areas and shipping methods. Quality of radish in the areas had a great difference, and especially standard deviation of volume of radish of Taebaek was highest. The packaging of radish was almost not, and in case of pack, corrugated paperboard was used as packaging material of outer packages. Non-packed radish in economic analysis was more economic than packed radish.

  • The 2-level rotation design based on 3 rotation groups is discussed in view of Monthly Retail Trade Survey conducted by the Bureau of Census in U.S., and composite estimators for population characteristics are concerned. The generalized composite estimators and the recursive composite estimators are presented at 2-level rotation design with design gap and variance formulas for the composite estimators are provided. Also under the response variability related with covariance structure and correlation structure from repeated response, relative efficiencies of the composite estimators are compared.

  • Packaging and distribution status of watermelon Korean markets; Chunanm and Chunbuk, Kyungnam and Kyungbuk from January, 1999 to December, 1999 was surveyed to shipping methods, quality. Distribution and marketing of watermelon was different to the producing area, and quality of it was four grade. In a grade, difference of weight was 86%, and that of soluble solid content was 130%. Packaging status was almost non-pack, in case of packaging, packaging material was corrugated fiberboard and wooden-collar box, and packaging unit was mainly used to 8 to 10kg box, for one head or 4 heads was a few.

  • 본 논문은 농수축산물 및 도·소매 시장 자료를 통해 데이터베이스를 구축하여 시장별 상품의 가격, 장소, 기간 등의 정보를 일자별로 제공하는 시스템이다. 농수축산물의 경우, 크기, 신선도, 보관기간 등의 다양한 기준에 따라 가격이 형성되는데 상품 특성상 기상 변화와 계절 변화에 따른 생산량 및 상품의 질 차이가 매우 크기 때문에 상품의 공급량과 가격의 안정성을 보장하기 힘들다. 기존의 농수축산물 가격 제공 사례의 경우 정보 제공 범위가 좁아 정보의 유용성에 한계점이 존재하였다. 이를 보완하여 시장 위치와 제품 정보의 구체성 확보, 실시간 가격 정보 제공으로 정보의 폭을 넓혀 경제 주체에게 실질적으로 도움을 주고자 하였다. 이를 통해, 소비자들은 원하는 상품의 정보를 제공받아 가격, 거리, 품질 등의 주관적인 기준에 근거한 합리적 소비를 할 수 있다.
