Review of Software Education based on the Coding in Finland (핀란드의 코딩기반 소프트웨어 교육에 대한 고찰)

  • Finland is referred to the country which is conducting the most advanced education in the world with the excellent education policy and the outstanding education system. Historical background and geographical environment of between Finland and Korea is similar in many ways, since the lack of resources, Finland has focused on the fostering the human resources for the growth of the country like Korea. However, because of the recent PISA in 2012 indicated a sharp declined result than before, pointed out the lack of computer related education and national level implementation strategies for a software education of neighboring countries, the discussion on software education in Finland is increased. Thus, the coming 2016 year become a significant year to bring up the opportunity for national growth through software education, Finland government prepared the software education curriculum as a national common required curriculum which will be implemented from elementary school. In this study, we will look through the background of Finland's software education and curriculum, we are going to suggest which might be helpful to set the direction of software education curriculum.

The Entrepreneurial Factors and Entrepreneurial Intention on Student (대학생의 창업요인과 창업의지와의 관계 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between entrepreneurial factors and entrepreneurial intention on student. This study is designed to examine the effect of entrepreneurial factors on entrepreneurial intention. Data for the study was compiled through surveys on 300 students who study in engineering school of H university. Empirical results of the hypothesis testing are summarized as follows: The results indicate that both two variable groups have positively influenced the entrepreneurial factors was highly related to entrepreneurial intention. The factors entrepreneurship are background, individual and situational factor. This all factors influence on entrepreneurial intention. The entrepreneurial factors had a positively influence on will power of entrepreneur. The entrepreneurial factors had a positively influence on performance of entrepreneur.

An Input-output Structural Decomposition Analysis of Korean Biotechnology Industry (국내 생물산업의 구조분해분석)

  • This study defines the biotechnology industry, examines its position in the domestic economy, and analyses its structure with I-O tables of year 1985, 1990 and 1995. Structural decomposition analysis is used in order to estimate the impact of different sources of growth. We classifies Korean biotechnology industry into 6 sectors, based on the survey of domestic biotechnology industry by Bioindustry Association of Korea. Empirical results indicate that each sector of bioindustry has various sources of growth and industrial demand has led the growth in all sectors except for food-bio and agriculture-bio. For the growth of the industry, each sector needs to cope with the change of the private demand and to improve the import and export structure.

창업가의 경험적 특성과 사업성과간의 관계에 대한 연구

  • 최근 세계경제의 중장기적 불황과 성장률의 하락을 경험하고 있는 가운데, 새로운 상품이나 서비스를 탄생시키고 생산방식의 변화와 혁신을 통해 경제적 효율성을 높이는 창업에의 관심이 날로 높아지고 있다. 이러한 분위기에서 중소기업 및 소상공인의 창업은 한 국가경제에 미치는 영향이 매우 크다는 것을 모두 공감하고 있으며, 이러한 중소기업 및 소상공인들이 생계형 창업을 넘어 기업의 성과를 높일 수 있도록 하기 위한 다양한 노력들이 지속되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적 역시 창업가들의 경험적 특성과 사업성과간의 상관관계를 조사하여 중소기업들의 성과에 미치는 영향변수를 분석 하는데 있다. 특히, 본 연구에서는 창업자의 개인적인 특성 중 사업성공에 필요한 경험적 특성을 중점적으로 고려하여 연구를 진행하였다. 창업자가 사업성공을 위해 가져야 할 특성에는 창업자의 배경적 특성(학력, 창업관련 강좌 수강, 가족이나 지인의 주변창업, 창업자의 과거 창업경험 등) 창업자의 심리적 특성(성취욕구, 위험감수성향, 모호함에 대한 인내력), 창업자의 관리적 역량(창업자의 관리적 능력, 기업가적 능력, 기술적-기능적 능력) 창업자의 전략적 성향(제품-서비스 혁신 차별화 전략 성향, 마케팅 차별화 전략 성향, 비용 우위 전략 성향)이 있다. 이러한 다양한 변수들 중 창업가의 배경적 특성에 속하고 있는 개인의 경험적 특성이 사업성과에 미치는 영향을 중점적으로 연구를 진행하였다.

The Role of Insulin-like Growth Factor I(IGF-I), and IGF Binding Protein (IGFBP) in Mouse Lung Cancer Cells (마우스 폐암 세포에서 Insulin-Like Growth Factor-I (IGF-I) 및 IGF Binding Protein (IGFBP)의 역할)

  • Background : IGF-I is an important mitogen in many types of malignancies. Tumors also express many IGF binding proteins, which modulate IGF action. The propose of this study was to evaluate the effect of IGF-I and IGFBP on cell proliferation in mouse lung cancer cells (3LL). Methods : The cellular proliferation of 3LL with the treatment of growth factors was evaluated using MTT assay. Western ligand blot was performed in order to determine whether 3LL cells secrete IGFBPs and we evaluated the effect of IGFBP on cellular proliferation. Results : The treatment of 3LL cells with IGF-I increased cellular proliferation in a serum free media. Western ligand blot of conditioned medium of 3LL with $^{125}I$-IGF-I demonstrated one single major band with an estimated molecular mass of 24 kDa. This band was identified as IGFBP-4 with immunoblot analysis using antisera. The addition of anti-IGFBP-4 antibody to abrogate the effect of IGFBP-4 resulted in increased cellular proliferation suggesting that IGFBP-4 inhibits cell growth. Conclusion : IGF-I increases cellular proliferation, however the secreted IGFBP-4 has an inhibitory function on cell growth in 3LL. These findings suggest that IGF-I and IGFBP are involved in the cell proliferation.

Elementary Teachers' Perception, Practice, and Background Factors in Using Students' Everyday Experience in Teaching Science (과학수업에서 학생의 일상경험 도입에 대한 초등교사의 인식과 실행 및 배경요인)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify elementary school teachers' perceptions, practices, and background factors related to introducing students' everyday experience in science teaching process. The participants of this study were four elementary school teachers who have different features such as major, teaching period, gender, growth area, and age. The data was collected through semi-constructed and in-depth interviews. The results of the research are as follows: Teachers mostly used students' everyday experience during the introduction phase of science lessons for the purpose of motivation. They hold a positive view of using students' everyday experience during science lessons and thought that science teaching needs to actively use more of students' everyday experience, while in actual practice they disregarded or only passively introduced students' everyday experience. The various background factors found to affect teachers' practice are as follows: positive memory on their science class; educational experience of their own children; their own childhood environment; their learning style; their insufficient knowledge or enthusiasm; perceived educational value of everyday life in science education; teacher's duties; importance of students' achievement; difficulty in guiding experiment; reaction of students on introducing everyday experience; characteristics of science textbook and teacher's guidebook; lack of lesson time; realization of national common basic education; characteristics of their students; demands from parents or students; effect of introducing everyday experience. In addition, we found that the teachers behave not in accordance with what they thought due to external factors related to their profession and that, for a more active use of students' everyday experience in their teaching, teachers need support from textbooks and teachers' guidebooks.

What Causes the College Entrance Gap in Korea? Short-term financial constraints vs. long-term constraints (저소득층의 대학진학 제약요인 분석)

  • This paper empirically investigates the dynamics of the poverty-higher education gap in Korea. Poverty may lead to a gap in access to higher education through two channels: the short-term inability to pay college tuition and fees and long-term disadvantages arising from one's environment that impede the development of academic ability. A regression analysis based on data from the Korean Education and Employment Panel suggests that it is long-term disadvantages that plays a dominant role in the dynamics of this gap. We also replicate a study carried out by Carneiro and Heckman, who have addressed a similar question in the US. Again, the results confirm that the crucial constraint is the long-term accumulation of disadvantages arising mainly from family background, not the short-term constraint. These findings suggest that policies designed to alleviate short-term financial constraints, such as tuition reduction, will be less effective in reducing the gap in accessing four-year college in Korea than policies involving early intervention in children's development.

A Study on Variables Affecting Kindergarten Teachers' Adaptation to the Teaching Profession : Focused on Background Variables, Development Stage, and Perception of Accountability (유아교사의 교직적응에 영향을 미치는 제 변인에 대한 연구: 배경변인, 발달단계, 책무성 인식을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of background variables, development stage, and perception of accountability on kindergarten teachers' adaptation to the teaching profession. The researchers surveyed 224 teachers in public and private kindergarten. The results of the study are as follows: First, in terms of age, the older they were, the better teachers adjusted to the teaching profession. As for their teaching career, the more teaching experience they had, the better teachers adapted to the teaching profession, but there were no significant differences between 6-10 years and more than 11 years. As to the level of education, four-year college graduates or graduate school graduates adjusted better than two-year college graduates. Second, teachers in the Capability Development Stage and Growth-Enthusiasm Stage showed a higher degree of adaptation than those in the Entrance-Acceptance Stage. Finally, the higher perception of accountability they have, the better teachers could adapt to the teaching profession. Among the categories of accountability, the professional accountability affected most highly the teachers' adaptation to the teaching profession.

3DCGI workflow proposal for reduce rendering time of drama VFX (드라마 VFX의 렌더링 시간 단축을 위한 3DCGI 워크플로우 제안)

  • Consumer expectations for drama VFX increased as the influx of overseas dramas increased due to the growth of OTT service, but the current production time of the drama production system has a negative effect on the quality and completion of work. This paper proposes a background rendering using a game engine and a subject rendering using background HDRI as environmental lighting. The proposed workflow is expected to reduce the production time of VFX and improve the quality of VFX. The proposed workflow was verified in 3 steps. Comparing game engine and rendering software according to the same lighting environment and camera distance, comparing rendering with existing rendering method and background HDRI generation, and validating the proposed workflow. For verification, quantitative evaluation was performed using Structual similarity index and histogram. This study is expected to be one of the options to improve the quality of VFX and improve the risk.

Base Metal's Price Hike and Chinese Economic Growth (Base Metal 가격상승과 중국의 경제성장)

  • With the financial crisis from USA had negative impacts on the real economy, base metals price on LME was downward in 4 quarter of 2008. Following the deepest global downturn in recent history, economic growth solidified and broadened to advanced countries and simultaneously the price of base metal on LME showed a rising curve over 2009. There are three factors supported an upward tendency of base metal's price. The First factor is the US economy recovery, the second factor is the weak dollar, the third factor is the chinese base metal demand. Among the factors, the last one is a major factor. Therefore, this study analyze the factor of the movement of price of base metal with linear regression analysis. The result of analysis show that the chinese GDP growth has effect on the recent upward base metal price. Despite the result, the upward movement is difficult to be sustained without the full recovery of advanced economies.
