  • The purpose of this study is to review existing research trends to find highly reliable tools for measuring inconsistencies in parenting attitudes for adolescent children. We reveal factors that heavily affect reliability and feasibility of these tools and compose stable measurement items. We found a total of 37 items with high reliability and feasibility comprising six questions on affection, three questions on childcare, nine questions on interest, seven questions on demands, five questions on neglect, and seven questions on abuse. We surveyed first to third-year high school students in public and private schools nationwide and carried out statistical analysis for the 1,020 respondents. Upon analysis, questions were removed if they showed low factor loading (less than 0.6) for the father and mother in each of the 37 measurement items. Only questions that could be used for both the father and mother were extracted to carry out exploratory factor analysis. Eight questions were were deleted: five on interest, one on demands, one on neglect, and one on abuse. The final 29 questions were selected for the measurement tool. Cronbach's Alpha coefficient was used to analyze reliability, which showed high reliability values ranging from .857 to .931 for the father and mother. Therefore, these inspection tools for inconsistent parenting attitude were both reliable and feasible.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate perception of good death among the community-dwelling elderly and identify factors related to the perception. Methods: A questionnaire survey was carried out using a convenient sampling method (N=317). Data were analyzed by applying descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Participants scored an average of 3.35 on a 4-point scale for the perception level of good death. They scored higher on the factor of personal control that other factors affecting the perception. Good death was positively correlated with family support (r=0.252). Family support (${\beta}$=0.287) and gender (${\beta}$=0.197) significantly influenced the elderly's perception of good death. These variables accounted for 10.2% of the total variance. Conclusion: The results show that family support is an important factor for the perception of good death among the elderly. Therefore, family support should be carefully considered to ensure good death for more senior citizens. Our findings can be utilized to support programs such as death education for the elderly.

  • This study examined differences among high, medium, and low achievers' motivation, self-regulation strategy, and learning style in an online gifted program. The sample included 788 middle and high school students who participated in the 3-months online gifted program. Participants volunteerly completed 60 questions on their motivation, self-regulation strategy use, and learning style. Multivariate analysis of variance(MANOVA) was conducted for data analysis using SPSS 19.0. The results of this study showed that (1) as levels of students' achievement increased, levels of intrinsic motivation increased as well; (2) statistically significant differences also existed on the levels of elaboration strategy, effort management, and time management strategy use among three levels of achievement and (3) no significant differences in students' learning style preference were found between competitive or cooperative learning style. To sum up, high achieving students' levels of intrinsic motivation, elaboration strategy, effort management strategy, and time management strategy use were the highest compared to medium and low achieving students.

  • The purpose of this study was designed to develop an questionnaire for healthy aging. The subjects of this study were total 335 people who participated in regular exercise and went to welfare centers in Seoul. The validity and reliability were tested for verifying the developed questionnaire for healthy aging. The data were collected between June 12, 2006 and October 27, 2006. The mean, standard deviation, kurtosis, skewness, reliability, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor were analyzed for statistical purpose using by SPSS-Win 12.0 program. The results were as follows; First, to obtain content validity, the results of previous research and the value system responses were submitted to a judgement group. Second, the results of the factor analysis of the 20 items making up the questionnaire were classified into the following 3 factors; physiological health(6 items), cognitive-mental health(6 items), social-support health(8 items). Third, the reliability of the questionnaire for healthy aging was 0.891(Cronbach's alpha). In the factor analysis Cronbach's alpha correlations for the 4 factors ranged from 0.642 to 0.885. Fourth, the results of confirmatory factor analysis, all the index values(NFI, RFI, CFI, Delta 2 IFI) were close to 1. Thus, this questionnaire demonstrated good reliability and validity and therefore it was an appropriate measurement of healthy aging.

To this end, our research efforts questioned adult swimmers with increasing partner, time, determined factor of participation evinced higher levels of exercise needs. The research targeted the current(2006) membership of an aquatic facility operating in the Busan Gwangyeok-Shi, both male and female were selected as 299 participants of the study. This research utilized a exercise needs survey developed by Byung Gi Lee's team(1989). The data was analyzed through Reliability, Frequency and the ANOVA method. The results of this study are as follows: First, Those who regularly swim with a partners and those who swim alone showed differences in their exhibitionist tendency levels. Second, Those who scheduled their swimming activities in the evenings showed more motivation to exercise than those who swim in the mornings or afternoons. Third, Determining factors in beginning an aquatic exercise routine were quality of facilities or instructors, and these participants showed a different level of desire to reduce stress and exhibitionist tendency levels.

  • The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze the effects of middle school students' participation in after-school sports on psychological well-being. A survey was conducted on 280 students in 7th, 8th, and 9th grades attending two middle schools in Gongju-si, Chungnam, for one month from September 8 to October 17, 2019. The scale developed by Ryff (1995) was used to measure psychological stability. Subfactors including self-acceptance (6 questions), positive interpersonal relationships (5 questions), autonomy (6 questions), environmental control (5 questions), purpose of life (5 questions), and personal growth (5 questions) comprised a total of 32 questions measured on the Likert 5-point scale. The internal fit score (Cronbach's alpha) was .76-.83, with 146 students (52.1%) participating in after-school sports activities. The effect was high in the participant group. All variables, including the six subfactors, were verified statistically. These findings are consistent with the studies of Kang Myung-hwa (2011) and Kim Pan-su (2012), which reported that the sports activities of middle school students directly affect the development of emotions. This study verified the need to strengthen after-school sports activities and to engage problem children. After-school sports activities should be reviewed in the context of social issues that are becoming increasingly serious.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate self-esteem item goodness-of-fit in sports talented children with socio-psychological aspect, which may be a basis of developing global sports leaders. Fifty children who were selected by 2010 sports talent identification program at Korea National Sport University participated in this study. All participants were asked to answer the questionnaire using Rogenberg (1965) self-esteem scale. Total 8 questions were used with 4 point Likert scale and high point stands for higher self-esteem status. Reliability of Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ was.785 in this study. Frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, and reliability analysis were conducted with SPSS 18.0. WINSTEPS 3.70 (Linacre, 2010) was used for calculating item goodness-of-fit and subject reliability, scale propriety, item goodness-of-fit and item level of difficulty, and level of difficulty were calculated. Statistical analysis showed results as follows. First, it was reported to be suitable for subject reliability in self-esteem as 1.01~1.03 and item reliability as 1.01~1.01. Second, 4 scale was suitable for scale propriety resulting from stage index judgment. Third, 2,7,8 and 3 question showed problems in item goodness-of-fit and item level of difficulty. Finally, scale propriety was reported to be inappropriate for considering sports talented children's ability distribution and scale level of difficulty.
