Hamel has a scholastic value as the first person, who announces Jeju and Korea to Europe. However, there has been little research on developing digital contents except a few books about Hamel. We develop an educational game on PDA using Hamel, based on Hamel character, Jeju's unique culture, multimedia technology, and so on. Compared with the previous games, it is different from the form of gathering points and has various game scenarios through interactions between Hamel character and game space. The structure of this game, which connects Jeju culture and cyber space together, represents the form of a digital storytelling. You can study through this game. It uses quizzes about Jeju culture, crossword puzzles, finding a sequence, finding differences between two pictures to teach users, and fixing pieces of a figure, etc. When we made the game, we divided it into some independent modules to make new game series easily using contents of the other provinces.

In this paper, we present the result of an analytical investigation concerning the demolition range for the pre-weakening of load-bearing wall in explosive demolition. Pre-weakening of load-bearing wall is usually conducted based on field experience because reliable specifications or guidelines for the design of pre-weakening have not yet been established in Korea. This study is one of the efforts to develop such a reliable specification or guideline for the pre-weakening process. Hence, the focus of the study is on the estimation of pre-weakening range of load-bearing wall. For the purpose, a finite element analysis (FE analysis) was conducted, and a pre-weakening range of load-bearing wall was suggested based on the analysis result.

This research designed and proposed metadata elements for the long-term preservation of digital research outcomes collected and managed in electronic file form. Metadata structure of both domestic and foreign agencies that manage research outcomes and CERIF and PREMIS-preserved preservation metadata were referred to design the metadata elements. The metadata design was divided into research information, bibliographic information and archival information. Research information is divided into project, name and institution, and composed of eight top-level elements and 29 sub-level elements. Bibliographic information is composed of 13 top-level elements as the source of research reports. Archival information is composed of 18 top-level elements and 62 sub-level elements as the elements for context, structure, contents and management process of the electronic records.

The purpose of this study is to develop the curriculum for the private certificates of reading instruction newly which can perform a reading instruction effectively in digital environment as the digital technology has changed the overall paradigm of reading. The curriculum for the private certificates of reading instruction was designed and proposed finally through deriving the implications over an study of the changes about reading paradigm in digital environment, searching the features and benefits over an in-depth analysis of domestic and international curriculum practices for training reading specialist, collecting the opinions and verification work over a Delphi survey of experts in the field of reading instruction. The finally developed curriculum consists of 6 kinds of training area, 21 kinds of subject and 82 kinds of training course content respectively to achieve the main function and purpose of the changed reading instruction in digital environment and in order to train reading specialist capable of applying properly them in reading instruction field.

The aim of this study is to develop and suggest a reading strategy to learn for integrating reading and writing. The reading and writing strategy could be divided in directed strategies related to the cognitive process and indirected strategies to carry out the process successfully. Therefore, its strategies are constructed of the indirected strategy corresponding with the instructional design model and the direct strategy containing specific action plans of the model's progressive stages. When considering the reading to learn could be run as a program in the school, in this study, the basic model of the indirected strategy is devised with four steps of 'preparing-designing-implementing-evaluating'. And the implementing stage of the read to learn combining reading and writing is consisted of six steps as 'selecting subjects-considering contents-searching-writing-correcting-publishing'. Also, proper indirected strategies such as graphic organization and checklists are suggested in order to assist reading and writing activities in the implementing stage.

The purpose of this study is to strengthen librarian's capacity by developing curriculum and training system for fostering '(tentative name)Librarians Specialized in Reading Healing' as a field of professional librarians. For this purpose, curriculum and training system for fostering librarians specialized in reading healing are designed and presented through research methods including literature study, case study and 1, 2nd delphi survey. The final curriculum is composed of curriculum for 1st and 2nd grade licensed librarians specialized in reading healing and refresher training based on job description of librarians specialized in reading healing. The training system is based on the first and second level certification granted by completion of the course, thus is designed to meet requirements both for academic achievement and for career development in each grade.

The information that has been created according to the complex environment and usage pattern of library user can provide context-aware information service through knowledge structuralization on whether it is a suitable situation for user. Accordingly, the development of a context model for defining the various contexts of library user and for the structuralization of interrelated context information is an essential requirement. This study examined the context concept and context modeling, and utilizing the concept of Activity Theory by Engestrom, the activity model of library user was designed as 1) subject, 2) object, 3) tools, 4) divison of labor, 5) community, and 6) rules. In addition, for the purpose of analyzing the context of library user, activity information was tracked to utilize the Shadow Tracking for observing and recording their forms, and the methodology of CAbAT (Context Analysis based on Activity Theory) was utilized for the collected activity information to analyze the user context model.

Inquiry instruction is a dynamic process that uses questioning and answering to have students actively participate in their own learning. Inquiry instruction is a teaching technique in which teachers do not provide knowledge, but help students discover knowledge by themselves. However, Inquiry instruction currently has problems of lack of connection between inquiry process and school library, lack of collaboration between the media specialist and teacher, and lack of applicable models. Information literacy is the ability to access, evaluate and use information. Information literacy process is closely related to the inquiry process. Thus, this study suggested an elaborative model in inquiry instruction using information literacy process. This research derived the skills, strategies, activities of inquiry instruction model by comparing and analyzing Lippitt's inquiry process with information literacy process(Big6 Skills, Pathways to Knowledge, I-Search, 8Ws, Inquiry Process, Inquiry in the Research Process). Based on the results, this study designed an elaborative model in inquiry instruction using information literacy process.

This study examines the design and utilization of video storyboard surrogates in the digital video libraries. To do this, first we constructed the arrangement model of key-frames for storyboard based on the FRBR model, image communication and PRECIS Indexing theories and evaluated the model using 6 sample videos and 26 participants. The study results show that the video storyboard surrogates based on the arrangement model has a higher accuracy value in terms of summary extraction than that of the sequential video storyboard. Moreover, watching both types of video storyboard one after another, especially browsing the sequential video storyboard first and then the arrangement model-based one, produces a remarkable increase in accuracy value of summary extraction. The study proposes two methods of utilizing the video storyboard surrogates in the digital video libraries: Designing a video browsing interface where users can use the sequential storyboard as a default and then the arrangement model-based one for re-watching; and utilizing the arrangement model-based storyboard as structured match sources of image-based queries.

At this point in time, advertisements data providers have no standard way of organizing advertisements, which has been causing confusion in information-sharing and data research. The purpose of this study is to design of metadata element for TV commercials by analyzing the characteristic features of TV commercials. First, it is to analyze characteristics, production process, composing elements of TV commercials through the literature review. Second, it is to analyze the characteristics of metadata elements on TV-Anytime and PB Core. Third, the 7 cases of advertisements data service providers are analyzed to extract the relevant data elements for TV commercial metadata. Forth, a Dublin Core was selected as basic metadata schema for TV commercial. Basic element is set as nineteen elements including , , , and . Sub-element is set as twenty seven elements. Finally, it is hoped that further studies of greater depth and specificity on organization and management of advertisements data may be undertaken.
