The purpose of this study is to suggest knowledge-based digital library model that is applicable in korea university library. This paper provides brief accounts of research and development trends of digital library in referring some major digital library projects that are in progress, or just completed. There follows a suggestion of eight essential modules for knowledge-based digital library system, that are infrastructure development of dissertation presentation and database construction, management and service of collections, infrastructure construction of journal service, development of unified viewer, database conversion, distributed & integrated retrieval system, cyber campus(private work space), and database connection.

This study aimed to analyze the master's and doctoral theses in social pharmacy field over the past 10 years in Korea. Theses were searched based on the Korean National Assembly Digital Library System, and descriptive analyses were conducted using SAS. Among 669 theses, pharmacy/pharmacist accounted for 24.8%, followed by drug misuse with 16.9%, and pharmaceuticals industry related theses with 16.6%. Graduate school of pharmacy was responsible for a share of 27.2%, suggesting that approximately a quarter of the entire social pharmacy related theses are studies at the school of pharmacy.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the trends of character-related research in science education by analyzing science education research literatures in South Korea. To this end, literatures on character were extracted from the KCI-listed journals and theses from 1990 to December 2016, and analyzed according to the criteria such as terms relating to character, year of publication, research design and method, and research content. A total of 54 KCI-listed papers and 67 theses were extracted. As a result, 46%, 49%, and 5% of the researches include the terms like character, ethic, and moral in their titles. According to the year of publication, it was found that the number of research papers related to character increased rapidly by more than two times in 2012 as compared to the past years. According to research objects, researches about gifted students were the most common, and when considering the ratio of gifted students to general students, many studies related to character concentrated on gifted students. Starting 2009, research papers on qualitative and hybrid research design begin to advance as compared the number of papers in quantitative research design. With regards to research methods used, seven methods were classified; five of them ranged from 16% to 19% while interpretive research method was 12% and test tool validity study was the lowest at 2%. By extracting 30 representative keywords so as to analyze the contents of character-related researches, we found various implications to character in relation to nature and researches about SSI, etc. As time passed by, the contents of character-related research in science education became more diversified and the number of researches increased. New research contents appeared due to the needs of the times.

This paper consists of two parts: In the first part, we describe our work to build hierarchical knowledge base of digital library patron's research interests and learning topics in various scholarly areas through analyzing well classified Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETDs) of NDLTD Union catalog. Journal articles from ACM Transactions and conference web sites of computing areas also are added in the analysis to specialize computing fields. This hierarchical knowledge base would be a useful tool for many social computing and information service applications, such as personalization, recommender system, text mining, technology opportunity mining, information visualization, and so on. In the second part, we compare four grouping algorithms to select best one for our data mining researches by testing each one with the hierarchical knowledge base we described in the first part. From these two studies, we intent to show traditional verification methods for social community miming researches, based on interviewing and answering questionnaires, which are expensive, slow, and privacy threatening, can be replaced with systematic, consistent, fast, and privacy protecting methods by using our suggested hierarchical knowledge base.

It has been almost 10 years since the department of military studies was opened at the civilian universities. One of the important elements for the success of these new departments would be the curriculum. This paper tries to give an realistic answer to the question of curriculum. The factors influencing the design of curriculum of military studies are analyzed, such as the curricular of the military institutes that confer the B.S. in military studies, the domain of military studies and research areas, documentation classification of military studies and military engineering, scientific knowledge versus vocational capabilities in university education, relations between the B.S. courses and the master or doctorate courses, requirements asked by the Army, and moral education needed for the military officers. As a result of the analysis, the mandatory core courses should be total of 19, including 5 general courses and 14 major courses.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of drama education program for elementary school students by using method of meta-analysis. For the purpose of the study, master's theses, doctoral dissertations, and journal articles published in Korea up to July, 2013 were systematically reviewed. As a result, a total of 19 studies were eligible for the inclusion criteria. The mean effect sizes and test for homogeneity of effect size(Q-statistic) were analyzed by using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis software 2.0. The main findings of the study were as follows. First, the average effect sizes for drama education program were ES=1.103 of self-expression, ES=1.011 of self-esteem, ES= .858 of creativity and ES= .672 of sociality. Second, by analysing the moderate variables of the effect size for drama education program, 'sessions' were statistically significant. Based on the study results, the research and practice implications were discussed.

This study was to examine the effectiveness of the Solution Focused Group Counseling Program for elementary school students by meta-analysis. For the purpose of the study, master's theses, doctoral dissertations, and journal articles published in Korea up to May, 2014 were systematically reviewed. As a result, a total of 20 studies were eligible for the inclusion criteria. The mean effect sizes and test for homogeneity of effect size (Q-statistic) were analyzed by using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis software 2.0. The main findings of the study were as follows: First, the average effect sizes for Solution Focused Group Counseling Program were ES=1.61 in self-esteem, ES=1.35 in school adjustment capacity, ES=1.07 in interpersonal relationship and ES=1.03 in self-efficacy, Second, the statistically significant moderate variables of the effect size for the Solution Focused Group Counseling Program were 'sessions' of self-esteem and 'sessions', 'running times' in school adjustment capacity. Based on the study results, the research and practice implications were discussed.

For the purpose of the study, master's theses, doctoral dissertations, and journal articles published in Korea up to June, 2017 were systematically reviewed. As a result, a total of 17 studies were eligible for the inclusion criteria. The mean effect sizes and test for homogeneity of effect size(Q-statistic) were analyzed by using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis software 2.0. The main findings of the study were as follows. First, the average effect sizes for Self-Determination Group Program were ES=1.695 of Self-Determination, ES= 1.316 of Social Skills. Second, the moderate variables of the effect size for Self-Determination Group Program was 'age' of 'a type of disability', 'sessions', 'the number of sessions within a week', 'time of one session' and 'a major of the director'. Based on the study results, the research and practice implications were discussed.

This study was to examine the effectiveness of Positive Psychology Group Program in Korea by using method of meta-analysis. For the purpose of the study, master's theses, doctoral dissertations, and journal articles published in Korea up to June, 2015 were systematically reviewed. As a result, a total of 26 studies were eligible for the inclusion criteria. The mean effect sizes and test for homogeneity of effect size(Q-statistic) were analyzed by using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis software 2.0. The main findings of the study were as follows. First, the average effect sizes for Positive Psychology Group Program were ES=2.078 of happiness, ES= 1.847 of psychological well-being, ES= 1.645 of positive affect, ES=1.407 of life satisfaction ES=1.289 of self-esteem and ES=-1.208 of depressive symptoms. Second, the moderate variables of the effect size for Positive Psychology Group Program was 'age' of 'psychological well-being' and 'depressive symptoms'. Based on the study results, the research and practice implications were discussed.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of educational programming language(EPL) using the meta-analysis method. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, t-test and F-test were performed for the effect size differences between the variables. The results of the study were as follows: First, EPL turned out to be highly effective in improving learning effects. The total mean of effect size was as big as 1.01 and the value of $U_3$ was 84.38%. EPL increased the learning effect by 34.38% compared with the control group. Second, the moderator variables such as subject, publication type, and learner's school age there was no statistically significant differences. By designing the experiment nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design showed statistically significant effect size compared with single group pretest-posttest design. Third, the mean effect sizes of the dependent variables were as follows: Creativity 1.90, problem solving ability 1.25, logical thinking ability 1.18, learning motivation 0.81, and achievement 0.59. EPL showed positive effect than traditional teaching and learning method comprehensively.
