  • 최근, 문장단위의 음성을 인식할 수 있는 시스템을 개발하는 단계에 접어들면서 자발적인 발성음성의 인식 또는 음성언어 이해의 차원을 위한 시스템의 개발을 위해 운율특징을 이용하는 연구가 요구되고 있으나, 지금까지 개발되어온 음성이식시스템은 주로 독립단어의 인식수준에 머물고있기 때문에 운율을 이용하고자 하는 연구가 상대적으로 미흡한 수준에 있다. 본 연구에서? 나국어의 중의성 문장에서 서술어 부분을 세그멘트하고 이 부분의 억양패턴을 자동인식하여 중의성 문장이 서술형, 의문형, 명령형, 권유형인지를 파악하므로써 인식시스템에서 억양패턴을 이용할 수 있는 가능성을 제시하였으며, 서술형 문장음서으이 서술어 부분의 억양변황에 의해 의문형, 명령형, 권유형 무장으로 변환시키므로써 서술어 부분의 억양패턴에 따라 문장의 형태가 구분될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

A Study on Descriptive Assessment of Mathematics in Russia's Unified State Examination (러시아의 국가통합시험에서 수학교과의 서술형 평가 연구)

  • Descriptive assessment is a meaningful assessment method in relation to problem solving ability, reasoning ability, and communication ability as emphasized in mathematics curriculum. In Korea, as performance assessment has been emphasized since the 7th mathematics curriculum, descriptive assessment is being conducted as a method of performance assessment in schools. However, descriptive assessment has not been introduced in the university scholastic ability test for various reasons. Considering that descriptive assessment is emphasized in the mathematics classroom and has sufficient educational value, a serious discussion on the implementation of descriptive assessment in the university scholastic ability test will be necessary. In this study, we analyzed the descriptive assessment of Russia's unified state examination (USE) in the mathematics, which corresponds to Korea's university scholastic ability test. Through a literature review, we investigated how mathematics examination problems were structured in the USE and which mathematical abilities were required for the examination. In particular, the outer structure of the problems was analyzed focusing on the mathematics problems of the USE 2021, and the scoring method of the descriptive problems was also analyzed. The results of this study are expected to provide a variety of information on the possibility of introducing descriptive assessment in the Korean university scholastic ability tests.

An Analysis of Characteristic and Factor about Middle School Science Descriptive Assessment Items (중학교 과학과 서술형 평가의 문항 특성 및 요인 분석)

  • In 2005, descriptive assessment was introduced to increase students’ higher mental ability like problem-solving ability and creativity. Every year the ratio of descriptive assessment increases and it is regarded as an alternative evaluation to a multiple-choice item which measures simplicity knowledge. Externally the descriptive assessment took a root in school, but we can’t say definitely that it meets its original goal. In this paper, science descriptive assessment items of 5 middle schools in Gyeonggi-do were analysed; examiners was interviewed about how well they understood the characteristic of the assessment items. According to the analysis, characteristic of the items are ① unequal distribution of unit, ② difference of item’s type by unit, and ③ disappearance of measuring higher mental ability. It is considered that there are several factors of these characteristic - the lack of teachers’ ability to make assessment item; understanding of assessment instrument. These factors can be explained by the lack of assessment expertise. So the society’s effort is needed to raise teacher’s ability for the descriptive assessment.

An Examination of the Alignment between 2007 Mathematics Curriculum and Constructed-Response Assessment (서술형 평가 문항 분석 : 수학과 교육과정의 성격 및 목표와의 적합성을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine how constructive-response questions in regular test was in aligned with the nature and goals of 2007 Curriculum Amendment. For this purpose, data were collected and analysed by using the framework for mathematical task and the cognitive demand of tasks suggested by Smith & Stein(1998) and mathematical proficiency suggested by National Research Council(2001). In particular, it aimed to reveal the overall picture of the level of cognitive demand and the proportion of mathematical proficiency of constructed-response items created by secondary mathematics teachers. The findings from the analysis showed that 70 percent of the constructed-response items were at low-level and the rest at high-level in terms of cognitive demand. Also, the constructed-response assessment focused on conputing (89%), understanding(45%), applying(30%) and least reasoning(17%). Most of the constructed-response items included computing and were algorithmic.

2007개정 교육과정에 따른 서술형 평가 자료 개발

  • 본 연구는 현행 초등학교에서 이루어지고 있는 서술형 평가의 유형과 문제점을 분석해 보고 2007개정 교육과정에 따른 수학과 서술형 예시 평가 문항을 개발해 보는데 목표가 있다. 학교에서 시행되고 있는 평가 자료의 분석은 수학교과서, 국가수준 학업성취도 평가지, 서울시 교육청 보급 2010 장학자료집, 서울시내 학교에서 시행되고 있는 평가 문항을 분석해 보았다. 그리고 예시 서술형 평가 문항개발은 2007개정 교육과정에 따른 수학과 4학년을 대상으로 하였다. 평가 문항 분석의 결과는 문항 유형이 단순하고 교과서와 장학자료집의 수준을 벗어나지 못하고 있으며 창의성 영역의 평가는 거의 이루어지고 있지 않았다. 서술형 예시평가 문항의 개발은 수학과의 내용영역과 인지적 영역뿐 아니라 교육계의 화두가 되고 있는 창의성 영역까지 평가내용으로 포함시키고자 노력하였으며 영역별 1-2 문항을 개발하였다.

Student difficulties in constructed-response mathematics assessments: A case study of writing activities for low-performing first-year high school students (수학 서술형 평가의 어려움과 지도 방안: 고교 1학년 노력형 학생의 쓰기 활동 사례 연구)

  • This study aims to analyze low-performing high school students' difficulties in constructed response (CR) mathematics assessments and explore ways to use writing activities to support student learning. The participants took CR assessments, engaged in guided writing activities across 15 lessons, and provided responses to our interviews. The study identified 20 types of student difficulties, which were sorted into two main categories: "mathematical difficulties" and "CR difficulties." The difficult nature of mathematics as a school subject included a lack of understanding of mathematical concepts, students' difficulty with mathematical symbols and notations, and struggles with word problems. Challenges specific to CR assessments included students' difficulties arising from the testing conditions unlike those of multiple-choice items, and included issues related to constructing appropriate responses and psychological barriers. To address these challenges in CR assessments, the study conducted guided writing activities as an intervention, through which six themes were identified: (1) internalization of mathematical concepts, (2) mathematical thinking through relational understanding, (3) diverse problem-solving methods, (4) use of mathematical symbols, (5) reflective thinking, and (6) strategies to overcome psychological barriers.

A Study on the Recognition of Elementary School Teachers about Mathematical Descriptive Tests and Their Practices (초등 교사들의 수학과 서술형 평가에 대한 인식 및 실태)

  • In this study, we analyzed teachers' recognitions of the necessity of mathematical descriptive tests and their practices in the elementary schools. We then suggested several examples of improved formats of the mathematical descriptive evaluation. For analyzing teachers' recognitions and practices of mathematical descriptive assessment, we surveyed 104 elementary school teachers in Seoul. We collected the test items from the schools and analyzed them to find how they are practiced in the schools. The results were as follows. First, most elementary school teachers are basically recognizing the direction and the purpose of mathematical descriptive assessment. Second, the ratio of the descriptive test items was very low compared with the teachers' recognition of necessity of including descriptive items in the tests. Third, the teachers usually made the descriptive items with their colleagues using textbooks, test manuals for teachers, and the references that the office of education provided. Fourth, to enhance teachers' understanding of descriptive assessment, systematic training programs for teachers about the descriptive assessment should be continued. Finally, the office of education and research institutes should provide various types of test items and more teacher training programs on descriptive assessments.

An Analysis of Content Validity of Behavioral Domain of Descriptive Tests and Factors that Affect Content Validity: Focus on the Fifth and Sixth Grade Science (초등학교 과학과 5, 6학년 서술형 평가문항의 행동영역 내용타당도 및 이에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석)

  • This study analyzes the content validity of descriptive tests developed for elementary schools, in order to acquire basic data to improve them. Various descriptive tests were collected and tested for differences in proportions between two-dimensional classification of educational objectives and the level of behavioral objectives. Results show that the descriptive tests developed by elementary school teachers mainly focused on "knowledge" and "understanding," and that content validity for behavioral levels to be low. Nine elementary school teachers were interviewed to understand the result. From the interviews, we found both internal and external factors that cause low content validity. The main internal factors were teachers' ability to make two-dimensional classification of educational objectives, the teachers' consideration of students' level, item level of difficulty, the ease of scoring, and path dependence. The main external factors were curriculum, parents, and administration. Based on the results, we suggested the factors related to elementary school teachers' PCK of descriptive tests.

The development and application of the descriptive evaluation questionnaire on the Clothing and Textiles section of the middle school Technology & Home Economics textbook (중학교 기술.가정 의생활영역의 서술형 평가문항 개발 및 적용)

  • To develop the descriptive evaluation questionnaire with high validity and reliability on the Clothing and Textiles section of the middle school Technology & Hone Economics textbook, apply it to students and analyze its results. We made out a draft for descriptive evaluation questionnaire that was based upon the concrete establishment of the goal and the range of evaluation. We also made a rubric for scoring as well as sample answer-sheets. Finally, we completed a total of twenty three descriptive evaluation questions and we applied it to sixty five 2nd-grade students in two classes in a middle school. Descriptive evaluation questionnaire exhibited the relative high validity on each question. Moreover, three graders gave the same score on each question of descriptive evaluation, suggesting that descriptive evaluation questionnaire has the high inter-grader reliability and the strong correlation. But, low academic achievement was generally observed in the subjects. They had difficulty in describing their knowledge via their own language and drawing up accurate and detailed answers. They recognized the positive aspects of descriptive evaluation questionnaire, but they felt it uncomfortable due to study-burden and description itself. To overcome these limitations, it is required that students should experience various materials related to subject contents in classes as well as textbooks, concentrate themselves on finding solutions for problems, expand their scope, and practice describe them in advance. Therefore, the additional training for description evaluation questionnaire will be necessary for the more efficient and discriminative questionnaire. Also the questionnaire with high validity and reliability should be developed and the aggressive and voluntary participation of teachers will be needed.

Strengthening the Instruction-Assessment Alignment: Development of Items for Essay-Type Assessment Based on the Achievement Standards (수업과 평가 일체화를 위한 성취기준 중심 가정과 서술형 평가 문항개발 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop items of an essay response assessment that could align with the instructions and assessments in the high school home economics curriculum. The contents of the study were as follows. First, to establish an assessment plan, 14 achievement standards were analyzed in the assessment area, and the elements of the questions were developed including the content elements of a total of 29 questions. Second, to develop the assessment tools, preliminary questions suited to the structure of essay questions were developed, and the method of presenting data and scoring criteria to be utilized in the questions was selected. Third, to prepare the answers and the scoring criteria tables, the answers to the sample questions for each score were prepared in form of a scoring criteria table, and the objectives of the assessment, the scoring items, and the scores for each item were reviewed. Fourth, the developed questions and answers were revised and supplemented by teachers of the professional learning community through preliminary and mutual review on the components of the questions, the embodiment of the assessment objectives, the implementation of the assessment intent, and the grading. This study can be used as a foundational study for the development of essay-type questions and scoring criteria in essay assessment in the field of education. Furthermore, the results of this study could help teachers enhance their learners' ability to apply knowledge in the future.
