Studies on the Functional Properties of Lactic Acid Bacteria Isolated from Home-made Yogurt and Commercial Yogurt (Home-made 요구르트와 시판 중인 요구르트에서 분리한 젖산균의 기능적 특성 조사)

  • The objective of this work is to investigate and compare several functional properties of lactic acid bacteria (LAB), Lactobacillus casei SK-7 isolated from home-made yogurt and Lactobacillus bulgaricus YK-11 from commercial yogurt. Initially, physiological and biochemical properties of SK-7 and YK-11 were characterized. Phylogenetic analysis using 16S rRNA sequencing were performed to identify the strains, and the strain could be assigned to Lactobacillus casei and Lactobacillus bulgaricus, designated as L. casei SK-7 and L. bulgaricus YK-11. Phylogenetic tree of SK-7 and YK-11 was plotted based on 16S rRNA sequence comparisons. Production of lactic acid and organic acid, and pH changes in the cultures of SK-7 and YK-11 were monitored during 72 h. During the incubation period, several functional properties of L. casei SK-7 and L. bulgaricus YK-11 were examined. L. casei SK-7 and L. bulgaricus YK-11 cultures eliminated 93.9% and 88.2% of nitrite, respectively. Antioxidant activity of cultural supernatants of SK-7 and YK-11 were 62.6%, 54.9%, and activity of ${\beta}$-galactosidase were 14.9 units/mg and 13.1 units/mg, respectively. The antimicrobial activities were examined with 20-fold concentrated culture supernatants from the cultures of SK-7 and YK-11. The activities of SK-7 supernatants were clearly observed against all microorganisms in this work, whereas no activities were observed in YK-11 supernatants. Although it might be conducted additional functional research, functional properties of LAB isolated from home-made yogurt have been shown to be better than those of commercial yogurt in this work.

A Survey on the Consumer Preferences for Korean Rice Cake Packaging in the Seoul Metropolitan Area (떡 포장 개선을 위한 국내 수도권 지역 소비자의 기호도 조사)

  • In this study we surveyed the packaging preferences of consumers for Korean rice cakes as current commercial products in Korea. The questionnaire was developed from a preliminary investigation of typical rice cake packaging patterns and sent to 2332 residents in Korea by random sampling mail. The questionnaire contained questions on the preferences of interior design in packaging, opening methods, individually separated types, printing position, packaging methods, and packaging materials such as paper and plastic. There were responses from 304 residents. The collected data was analyzed by an SPSS package program. Most of the packaging used for Korean rice cakes was plastic (58.9%) which was used for packaging materials and stretch wrap (42.9%) as packing methods. The results showed the preference was the perforated line type used by hand for opening a packaging and interior packaging design with 2~3 partitions. Most respondents expressed an interest in using individual packaging and having printing directly on the packaging. Also, the respondents preferred the packaging design that let them see the contents of a package. Based on the results of the questionnaire, this paper suggested that most consumers would prefer to choose a packaging system with a partition design in a plastic container, individually separated products, and a transparent container for Korean rice cakes. The results of packaging preferences could provide important information for suitable packaging development for Korean rice cakes. Further research should be conducted to improve the shelf life of Korean rice cakes with functional packaging systems such as modified atmosphere packaging or anti-microbial packaging.

  • A gallery provides the function to make opportunities for artist to meet the customers who would buy the products from them. And there was performed the place where artist who production provider, planner, managers and private collectors met to distribute artworks and to educate fine art for public and provide a chance sending leisure time. We investigated this galleries at old urban center in daegeon region by the deep interview and Delphi method. A galleries was operated by a sense of duty and pride. Though its environment is poor, it grows up the young artist and art trends. By delphi results, the role of gallery is recognized as the discovery of an unknown young artist and provider of art trend and paradigm. Also they was recognized as the space for social and cultural responsibility operation culture. Galleries was recognized as key factors as literary value, marketability and harmony between gallery and artworks. Artist was known as a key factors as gallery's expertise, gallery awareness and capacity for artworks selling. Gallery will be considered the functions as the various cultural experience space and culture service space. Although galleries are passive and one dimensional functions.

  • 최근 사회의 다변화, 고령화 및 소비자의 다양한 욕구 증대 등으로 인하여 세분화된 소비계층을 겨냥한 다양한 신제품들이 출시, 판매되고 있는 반면, 일반 백색시유를 제외하고는 제품의 라이프사이클이 크게 줄어드는 경향을 보이고 있다. 건강기능식품 시대의 도래와 함께 첨단 기능성 소재들이 속속 등장하고 있으며, 유가공업계도 이들 소재를 응용한 연구개발과 공정개선을 통한 신제품 출시에 박차를 가하고 있다. 그러나 음용유 시장에서 절대적인 비중을 차지하고 있는 시유부문은 저출산율과 수입개방 등의 악재로 인하여 점차적인 감소 추세에 접어들고 있다. 따라서 국내 유가공업체는 원유소비 증대와 유제품 경쟁력을 확보하기 위해 유제품의 다양화, 고급화를 위한 기술개발 및 유제품의 적극적인 홍보 등의 전략이 필수적이다. 이를 위해서는 종래 단순가공에 의한 유제품 생산에서 탈피하여 새로운 공정 개발, 신물질 탐색 등으로 생산비 절감, 수율 증대, 다양한 형태의 유제품 개발, 그리고 기능성 소재의 탐색 등 건강 지향적 기능성 식품 개발에 노력을 해야 할 것이며 국공립 및 사립대학교 및 정부 출연기관과 일반 유업체의 공동과제 실시 확대로 기능성 식품에 대한인식제고가 필요할 것이다. 또한, TV 매체를 통한 홍보, 우유의 교과서 반영, 자조금 활성화 등으로 어릴 때부터 우유 먹는 습관을 형성하여 시유 소비기반 확대를 도모해야 할 것임과 아울러 교육당국과 협력하여 학생과 영양교사를 대상으로 한 우유에 대한 체계적인 교육프로그램 실시 및 중 ·고등학교 급식화대 추진 등 관련 기관과의 협력체계 구축을 통한 낙농진흥활동을 전개하여야 한다.유아의 창의성수준을 더 높게 평가하였다. 그러나 아버지와 교사간 평가의 상관은 유의하지 않았는데 이는 아버지의 평가수준이 매우 객관적인 것은 아님을 시사한다. 셋째, 창의적인 유아와 일반 유아 아버지 양육태도에서는 유의한 차이를 보였는데 특히 애정-적대요인과 자율-통제요인에서 창의적인 유아와 일반 유아간의 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 유아의 창의성과 아버지 양육태도간의 상관관계분석결과 애정적 양육태도와 유창성, 독창성간의 상관이 유의하였다. 집단별 분석시 창의적인 유아를 둔 아버지의 양육태도와 유아의 창의성간에는 상관이 없는 것으로 나타났고, 일반 유아의 아버지 양육태도와 유아의 창의성간의 상관에서는 아버지 양육태도의 성취-비성취 요인에서와 창의성제목의 추상성요인에서 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 창의성이 높은 아동의 아버지의 양육태도는 일반 유아의 아버지와 보다 더 애정적이며 자율성이 높지만 창의성이 높은 아동의 집단내에서 창의성에 특별한 영향을 더 미치는 아버지의 양육방식은 발견되지 않았다. 반면 일반 유아의 경우 아버지의 성취지향성이 낮을 때 자녀의 창의성을 향상시킬 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이상에서 자녀의 창의성을 향상시키는 중요한 양육차원은 애정성이나 비성취지향성으로 나타나고 있어 정서적인 측면의 지원인 것으로 밝혀졌다.징에서 나타나는 AD-SR맥락의 반성적 탐구가 자주 나타났다. 반성적 탐구 척도 두 그룹을 비교 했을 때 CON 상호작용의 특징이 낮게 나타나는 N그룹이 양적으로 그리고 내용적으로 더 의미 있는 반성적 탐구를 했다용을 지원하는 홈페이지를 만들어 자료 제공 사이트에 대한 메타

Survey on Compliance of Pesticide Registration Standard and Pesticide Usage of Paddy Rice and Leaf Vegetables in Korea (농약등록기준 준수 현황과 수도 및 엽채소류 사용량 조사)

  • A nation-wide monitoring survey was performed to look into pesticide use pattern and amount on farmers' field after the national registration of pesticides from 2003 to 2004. Tow hundred ninety two leading farmers involved in the survey were chosen from main cultivating regions of targeted crops in consideration with area. Most farmers involved in the survey follow the safe use guideline of pesticides, while their information to select and making-decision for purchasing pesticides were done according to the recommendation of mainly pesticide market dealers or agricultural cooperative dealers. Used amount of pesticide per unit cropping area was surveyed as 5.51 on paddy, 3.91 on field cabbage, 2.93 on greenhouse cabbage, 0.76 on lettuce, 0.55 on spinach, 1.34 on perilla leaf, 4.89 on leek and 0.42 kg $ha^{-1}$ on young radish. As compound with those surveyed from 1999 to 2000, the pesticide amounts used for rice, lettuce and perilla leaf were reduced while that for cabbage was increased.

Monitoring of Pesticide Residues in the Certificated Organic and Pesticide-free Cereals and Root Vegetables (유기 및 무농약 인증 곡류와 근채류 중 잔류농약 모니터링)

  • This study was carried out to investigate characteristics of the pesticide residues in environment friendly cereal grains and root vegetables. The samples, 747 the environment friendly agricultural products were collected from supermarkets and retail stores in eight major cities in May and August 2012. Residues of 245 pesticides in the samples collected were analyzed by multiresidue methods using GC and HPLC. No pesticide residues were detected in all the samples, representing the environment friendly cereal grains and root vegetables were produced according to the guideline for prohibition of use of pesticides during crop cultivation.

  • This study was performed to investigate the recognition of Korean farmers for the safety of environment-friendly organic materials (EFOMs). The main purchase line of environment-friendly organic materials was the sustainable agriculture organizations, and decisive basis for the materials purchase was because they thought that agricultural produce cultivated with EFOMs were safe. Currently farmers obtained the most information about EFOMs through farmer's education operated by agricultural technology center. Sixty nine percent of respondents hoped that they would get the information on the website and through official education opened by of the government or relative institutions. Whereas, only a few respondents hoped that they would get the information from the sellers. Therefore we thought that government and related institutions should operate the education program to give the sellers the scientific and accurate information about EFOMs. In addition, farmers are highly recognized the necessity of safety-related information provided by government and related institutions. Most Farmers thought that safety education for farmers using EFOMs was very important. Also, it was confirmed that farmer respondents thought to need to establish the shelf-life and user guideline and to label about toxic category of EFOMs. The Cronbach' alpha coefficient calculated in order to verify the reliability of survey questions was 0.699. That value indicates that responses of the respondents in this study might be reliable.

  • Drought stress has detrimental effects on the seedling development, vegetative/ reproductive growth, photosynthesis, root proliferation, anthesis, anthesis-silking interval (ASI), pollination and grain yield in maize. Typically, two weeks before silking through pollination are an important time in maize life. Here we reviewed the effects of drought stress on growth, physiological/ molecular researches for drought tolerance, and breeding to genomics in maize. Drought stress during kernel development increases leaf dying and lodging, decreases grain filling period and grain yield. Physiological factors of drought stress/ effects are water content, water deficits, and water potential. Nowdays molecular marker assisted breeding method is becoming increasingly useful in the improvement of new germplasm with drought stress tolerance.

  • We've already living our lives in the 21s1 century. This century, even alone, means enormous changes and innovations. Namely, we have been encountering various forms of generation changes such as digital generation, globalization generation, consumer generation, and brand power generation. Among these, there have been extraordinary changes in consumers and the environment of consumer market, and it is noteworthy of paying attention to the transition of the leader of the consumer market from producers to consumers. Such changes will affect not only all fields related to market environment but also entire fields including future products and sales. Hereupon, it is intended to foresee and analyze the trend in the consumer market of the 21st century and investigate changes in the consumer market and the environment of consumers. Also, the world has brought a single space of economy along with globalization and the era of self-imposed competition, and multi-national enterprises have emerged and, at the same time, their brands can be seen around the world. Hence, they have been trying to maintain their own power brands for the century. In the past, brand meant the name of a product in general. But, in the present, it has another meaning such that the brand itself provides psychological satisfaction and trustworthiness. Hereupon, this study intends to foresee changes in the trend of the consumer market of the 21s1 century, to ,outlook the trend of the consumer market along with study of power brand strategies, and to pursue creative strategies for power brand.

  • Display in commercial space is one of the most important fields in modem advanced industrial sectors as means of promoting the volume of sales. Additionally, consummers' preferences are more complicated and various than before because of improvement of quality of life. In order to satisfy the various comsumer's desire, the role of display must be an important factor in commercial space. On the other hand, the facade of commercial buildings in the concept of visual merchandising has important effect on the commercial space such as layout of a shop, setting up presentation space, and visual expression. The structure of the facade of the store provides not only an advertising function but also an important position to the composition of external space. Besides, enterance space is a part of a store, and it is closely related to outdoor space. Therefore, the relationship between a store and outdoor space should be carefully considered in terms of functional and expressional problems.This study introduces all sort of characteristics of the facade of enterance speac in the commercial buildings. It also investigates the relationship among the characteristics. Moreover, it analyzes the effect of facade style on shop environment such as zonning, inducement plan, and allocation plan. For the purpose of this study, 57 fashion stores, located in Myung-Dong(Seoul), are investigated. Based on the sample, this study analyzes the relationship between the facade style and visual presentation. Finally, it suggests the desirable direction of space composition based upon the concept of visual merchandising.
