Determination of Transferring Period of Several Plants using Image Processing (영상처리를 이용한 작물의 모종시기 결정)

  • This study carried out to develope the vision system which automatically finds out a optimum transferring period of plants (Perilla, Platycodon grandifloums and Lactuca sativa) by using image process-ing. This system mearsured a height, long diameter and short diameter of the three plants with 20 replications. Following results were obtained on each plant. Compared with real data to be measured by hand with the vernier calipers, height, long diameter and short diameter of Perilla showed 0.5 mm average error rate with 1.7%, 4.7 mm average error rate with 3.9% and 5.5 mm average error rate with 6.9% respectively. Those of Platycodon grandifloums showed 2.4 mm with 8.1%, 3.4 mm with 7.2% and 4.0 mm with 10.4% respectively. Those of Lactuca sativa showed 4.0 mm with 9.1 %,3.4 mm with 7.2% and 3.6 mm with 9.4% respectively. The system could be used to transfer accurately the plant seedling, if the system were improved enough to reduce error rate for the optimum transferring period of a plant in the greenhouse.

  • In this study, a crab robot is implemented in H/W based on four-bar linkage mechanism and Jansen mechanism, and its kinematics is analysed. A vision camera is attached to the mechanism, which makes the proposed robot a kind of biologically inspired robot for image acquisition. Three ultrasonic sensors are adopted for obstacle avoidance. In addition, the biologically inspired robot can achieve the mission appointed by a programmer outside, based on RF and Blue-tooth communication module. For the design and implementation of a crab robot, it is need to get joint variable, a foot point, and their relation. Thus, the proposed kinematic analysis is very important process for the design and implementation of legged robots.

  • This study was conducted to develop an imaging processing system of inoculation processing of a lily callus. The image processing system was composed of a camera, a image processing board, and etc. And the illuminance always decided by setting up 55W/3 wavelength lamp respectively on all aspects and the side was maintained by the lighting part. The image characteristic was examined according to each frame of RGB,therefore the culture vessel was able to be separated with B frame. The required time was 2.2 seconds in one cycle from the image acquisition to obtaining the result. The recognition rate of the container was 100%, and the result of image processing showed that the recognition success rate of lily callus was 93%.

  • 농업 유전공학 기술은 생산성 향상, 환경보전, 식품의 안정성 및 품질향상에 기여함은 물론 농업의 경쟁력을 높일 수 있는 유일한 대안으로 인식되고 있다. 전 세계적으로 유전자 재조합 작물의 경작지는 2000년 한해동안 지난해 같은 기간에 비해 11% 증가하였으며 이는 1996년 대비 25배 증가하였고, 선진국과 개발도상국은 각각 2%, 51% 1999년 대비 증가하였다. 1983년 유전자 재조합에 의한 식물의 형질전환이 성공한 뒤 종묘업계는 형질전환 종자개발과 보급에 열중하고 있으며 종자시장에 형질전화 품종이 차지하는 비율은 2000년 30억 달러에서 2010년이면 전체의 60%인 200억 달러에 이를 것으로 전망된다. 1995년 제초제 저항성 콩(라운드업레디콩)이 농가에 보급된 이후 2000년 형질전환품종 재배면적이 3990만 ha에 이르렀고 1997년 미국과 캐나다는 옥수수, 대두, 면화, 감자, 유채 등의 형질전환 품종 재배로 각각 3억1400만 달러, 5300만 달러를 벌어들였음. 형질전환 품종의 보급 증가속도는 소비자들의 GMO에 대한 거부반응으로 다소 주춤한 상태이다. 그러나 최근 종자회사들은 생태계 위해성 논란을 피해갈 수 있는 연구로 이러한 상황을 돌파하려 하고 있다. 우리나라에서도 유전자변형 생물체에 관한 법률이 제정되었으며 많은 대학과 연구소에서 형질전환 연구가 꾸준히 이루어지고 있고 최근 제초제 저항성 벼와 바이러스 저항성 감자가 개발돼 GMO 안정성 점검에 들어가 있고, 살충성 배추, 혈압강하 토마토, 지방산 강화 들깨, 병저항성 고추 등도 실험실과 포장에서 재배되고 있다. 이르면 4-5년 뒤 형질전환 작물들이 농가에 보급될 전망이다. 이처럼 체크 툴은 Firewall의 수비능력을 보강하는 위치에 있다고 생각할 수 있다.다. 4 장에서는 3장에서 제기한 각각의 문제점에 대해 RAD 의 관점에 비추어 e-business 시스템의 단기개발을 실현하기 위한 고려사항이나 조건 해결책을 제안한다. 본 논문이 지금부터 e-business 를 시작하려고 하는 분, e-business 시스템의 개발을 시작하려고 하는 분께 단기간의 e-business 실현을 위한 하나의 지침이 된다면 다행이겠다.formable template is used to optimize the matching.   • To develop vector plasmid for the bacteriophage P2-P4 system which is a useful experimental tool for the study of viral capsid assembly, we constructed a new P4-derived vector plasmid starting from P4 ash8 sid71 With recombinant DNA technology, a portion of P4 genome was deleted and tetracyclin resistance gene (terR) was introduced into P4 genome to give P4 selectivity. Resulting P4 ash8(sid71) terR was 12.09 kb long and could be converted to a viable bacteriophage with P2 infection. The burst size of induced bacteriophage form of P4 ash8(sid71) terR was determined. The CsCl buoyant equilibrium density gradient experiment of new P4 derivative suggested the upper limit of packaging capacity in P2-size head.

  • 생명 과학 분야에서 대부분의 연구는 생명 현상의 근본적인 기작을 이해하고 활용하는 것으로써, 이를 위해 다양한 실험을 통해 얻어지는 오믹스 정보를 활용하여 생명 현상을 모델링하여 실험적으로 확인하는 것이 필수적이다. 이를 위한 국내외 기반 연구가 진행되고 있으나 많이 활성화되어 있지 못하며, 아직까지 대규모의 생물학적 반응 네트워크에 대한 시뮬레이션이 불가능하다는 한계가 있다. 본 논문에서는 유전체에서부터 유전자 발현 및 신호전달과정에 이르는 대규모의 세포내 반응을 통합적으로 모델링하고 이를 대규모 컴퓨팅 환경에서 시뮬레이션하기 위한 소프트웨어를 설계하고 구현한다. 이를 통해 기존의 단일 컴퓨팅 기반 분석 시스템에서는 불가능했던 대규모의 생물학적 반응 네트워크에 대한 분석이 슈퍼컴퓨팅자원에 기반을 두어 수행이 가능하므로, 높은 수준의 분석 결과를 도출하는 것이 가능하다.

Development of transgenic potato with improved anthocyanin contents using sweet potato IbMYB1 gene (고구마의 IbMYB1 유전자를 이용한 안토시아닌 고함유 형질전환 감자의 개발)

  • The R2R3-type protein IbMYB1 transcription factor is a key regulator for anthocyanin biosynthesis in the storage roots of sweet potatoes. It was previously demonstrated that the IbMYB1 expression stimulates anthocyanin pigmentation in tobacco leaves, arabidopsis and storage roots of sweet potatoes. In this study, we generated the transgenic potato plants that express the IbMYB1 genes, which accumulated high levels of anthocyanins under the control of either the tuber-specific patatin (PAT) promoter or oxidative stress-inducible peroxidase anionic 2 (SWPA2) promoter. The PAT-MYB1 transgenic lines exhibited higher anthocyanin levels in the tuber than the empty vector control (EV) or SWPA2-MYB1 plants. When combined, our results indicated that overexpression of the IbMYB1 is a highly promising strategy for the generation of transgenic plants with enhanced tissue specific anthocyanin production.

Biological Wastewater Treatment Using Submerged Nonwoven Fabric Separation (침적식 부직포 막분리를 이용한 생물학적 폐수처리)

  • The combination of biological wastewater treatment process and membrane separation has many advantages such as better effluent quality and system stability over the conventional biological wastewater treatment process. In this study, direct membrane separation using nonwoven fabric was applied to biological wastewater treatment. A nonwoven fabric module was submerged in the aerated bioreactor. And accumulated biomass in the bioreactor was separated by suction. The system was operated with various condition to investigate pollutant removal efficiencies and flux. After formation of biomass layer on nonwoven fabric surface, a day, the stable effluent water quality was obtained. The flux decreased at a high suction pressure faster than a low pressure. The stable flux was obtained at the pressure of $21{\sim}25cmHg$. In spite of variation of hydraulic retention time, organic loading rate, the removal efficiencies of BOD, $COD_{Cr}$. $COD_{Mn}$ were very high as follows : $95.2%(0.14{\sim}0.97\;BODKg/m^3/day)$, $86.0%(0.17{\sim}1.39\;COD_{Cr}Kg/m^3/day)$, $90.0%(0.097{\sim}0.61\;COD_{Mn}Kg/m^3/day)$.

  • This paper is implementation of cellular automata neural network system using evolving hardware concept. This system is a living creatures'brain based on artificial life techniques. Cellular automata neural network system is based on the development and the evolution, in other words, it is modeled on the ontogeny and phylogney of natural living things. The phylogenetic mechanism are fundamentally non-deterministic, with the mutation and recombination rate providing a major source of diversity. Ontogeny is deterministic and local physics. Cellular automata is developed from initial cells, and evaluated in given environment. And genetic algorithms take a part in adaptation process. In this paper we implement this system using evolving hardware concept. Evolving hardware is reconfigurable hardware whose configuration si under the control of an evolutionary algorithm. We design genetic algorithm process for evolutionary algorithm and cells in cellular automata neural network for the construction of reconfigurable system. The effectiveness of the proposed system if verified by applying it to Exclusive-OR.

Study on the Improvement of Ballast Water Risk Assessment of GloBallast (GloBallast 선박평형수 위해도평가 방법의 개선방안에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, the management of the marine invasive alien species introduced by ballast water has come to the core as an urgent task. Because, hazardous organisms cause harmful effects on the ecosystem. Hazardous organisms also negatively affect fisheries, commercial shipping activities, and marine resources. In this regard, IMO used to operate GloBallast, Ballast Water Risk Assessment System, in order to manage the introduction of invasive species by ballast water. GloBallast is constructed to assess the relative risk due to the movement of ballast water between nations, using the volume and the number of times of ballast water discharge, the environmental similarity between ports, and the abundance of hazardous species as the main factors. According to the results of the demo-operation of GloBallast, it was found out that the environmental similarity factor had affected most highly the results of risk assessment. Therefore, in this study, the correlation between the main factors used in GloBallast risk assessment were re-examined, and some methods were suggested in order to reflect these main factors in the risk assessment more reasonable.
