We describe tubular structures on the cuticle of two representatives of the genus Gordius by scanning electron microscopy. One female from Korea could not be identified further while a male from New Zealand belonged to Gordius paranensis. Other male specimens of G. paranensis did not show tubular structures or the corresponding pores on the cuticle. Therefore it is assumed that tubular structures are not species-specific structures, but also no artifacts or contaminations. They might be glandular products, but this has to be verified by further documentations and investigation of the inner structure of it.

In this paper, we analyze a traffic control schemes at the interworking unit(IWU) of the IEEE 802.6 DQDB MAN and the B-ISDN, and estimate its performance via computer simulation. We also study traffic management, relaying sublayers for the cases of four service classes defined in the B-ISDN. As for performance criteria, we consider slot waiting time, slot loss rate, and the fairness between DQDB nodes in access networks. We propose a simple control algorithm that decreases the waitint delay at the OWU. With the buffer size of 40 [slots] at the IWU, we have found that the slot loss rate was nearly zero at traffic load below 0.9, and the slot waiting time became less than 15 slot times.

The structure of skin was studied in Iksookimia longicorpus based on the micro-anatomical investigation of skin fragments taken from four regions. The epidermis was distinguished by two types of skin glands, a small mucous cell and a large club cell. The mucous cell was acid sulfomucins (some sialomueins) but the club cell did not give any histochemical tests for mucosubstances. The presence of a well defined lymphatic system with small lymphocytes was established in the stratum germinativum layer of the epidermis. A large number of blood capillaries run very close to each other just below the basement membrane, and a definite area giving AB and PAS positive was present between the basement membrane and scale.

Sam Shepard is one of the leading American playwrights who represented Off-Off Broadway in the l960s and 1970s. In his early days, he wrote many experimental plays but later he turned to realism. However, under the superficial realism in his later plays, we find that they contain experimental devices and themes. True West (1980) is the last play of ills realistic family trilogy. This play shows that the tradition of Old West, which is symbolized and replaced by desert, disappeared in the industrialized clues of modern West. The Old West is compared which the modern West through the struggle of two brothers, Lee and Austin. Their father, 'Old Man', ran out on his family and went to the desert but did not succeed there. He shows that he failed in achieving the American Dream. The family appears unusual and demolished The relationships of the characters are not based on love and belief. The family symbolizes the negative aspects of modern American society. After Austin recognizes the actual situation finding that there is no real life in the modern West, he tries to leave the city and his family. He wants to go to the desert in search of a new life. However, in the last tableau Lee blocks the exit and the two brothers square off. It implies that they are doomed to continue their struggle. The message Implies that American society today is lacking the same positive values they once had in the Old West.

Pleomorphic adenoma is also called a mixed tumor and it most commonly occurs in the salivary gland. This neoplasm has a low grade malignant potential, but it may also show aggressive clinical behavior like recurrence or metastasis. We report here on a case of a tumor that was confirmed to be primary pulmonary carcinoma ex-pleomorphic adenoma by the pathologic examination after complete resection, and it had the characteristics of malignant neoplasms, such as multiple metastases.

Epithelioid hemangioendothelioma, originating from the vascular endothelium, is a very rare and low-grade malignancy. World-wide, about 50 cases of pulmonary epithelioid hemangioendothelioma have been reported. This is more common in female and is usually shown as multiple nodules in both lung fields. A 41-year-old male, who had suffered from right pleuritic chest pain for 3 months, was initially diagnosed as adenocarcinoma under bronchofiberscopic biopsy. At that time, the stage of tumor according to the TNM staging was llla. He received bronchoscopic biopsy again during follow-up period and it was diagnosed as hamartoma. After surgery, the final diagnosis was pulmonary epithelioid hemangioendothelioma.

A 7-year-old castrated male Schnauzer was presented with melena and inappetence. Laboratory examination revealed mild anemia. Abdominal ultrasonography showed abnormal enlargement of intestinal segment and a oval mass with soft tissue density. After surgical resection of the enlarged intestine including the mass, histopathologic examination showed that the mass was tentatively diagnosed as synchronous occurrence of gland cell- and mesenchymal cell-origin tumors. Subsequently, immunohistochemistry showed positivity to cytokeratin AE1/AE3 in the gland cells and positivity to ${\alpha}-smooth$ muscle-specific actin, but negative expression of c-Kit, suggesting the co-existence of adenocarcinoma and leiomyosarcoma. Follow-up examination after 3-year of the surgery confirmed that the dog remained healthy and did not show recurrence of the tumors.

The paper aims at developing a more reliable and accurate BWIM(Bridge Weigh-In-Motion) algorithm using measured strain data and examining its efficiency with various tests on bridges. It proposes a BWIM algorithm using density estimation function and average modification factor for moment-strain relationship. Density estimation function has been proved to be reliably applied when multiple axle loads are estimated. An average modification factor is applied to minimize overall error that can be encountered between theoretically computed moments and measured strains at multiple locations in a bridge. The developed algorithm has been successfully examined through numerical simulations, laboratory tests, and also by field tests on a multi-girder composite bridge.

Adenomyosis is a nonneoplastic proliforation of uterine glands characterized by multicentric infiltration of endometrial tissues into the myometrium. A female domestic short hair cat with unknown age was referred to local animal hospital in Busan for ovariohysterectomy to prevent the unwanted offspring. At the time of surgery, the uterus was enlarged with multiple nodular protrusion on the serosa. On the cut surface of uterus, elevation of the endometrium and hypertrophied myometrium were observed. Microscopically, the uterus was characterized by severe proliforation of endometrial glands into the lumen and within the myometrium. The intra-myometrial endometrium is circumferentially surrounded by bundles of hypertrophic smooth muscle cells. These endometrial glands had tall columnar epithelium lacking nuclear atypia and mitoses. In our best knowledge, this is the first report of feline adenomyosis in Korea.

A differential diagnosis between the true hermaphroditism (TH) and mixed gonadal dysgenesis (MGD) has important clinical implications for gender assignment and the decision for early gonadectomy; however, variable clinical and histological features frequently lead to the confusion of TH with MGD. A 17-month-old boy was presented with proximal hypospadias with chordee and right non-palpable testis in his scrotum. He also had right auricular anomaly including a separated tragus with skin tag. Left testis was well palpable in his left scrotum. Diagnostic right inguinal exploration showed Mullerian structures such as a gonad like an ovary and a fallopian tube with a uterus, which were removed. Repair of hypospadias and right auricular anomaly was also done. Following ultrasonography (USG) showed a normal looking testis in left scrotum. His chromosome was 45, XO/46, XY. We report a difficult case of mixed gonadal dysgenesis mimicking true hermaphroditism which combines ipsilateral congenital auricular anomaly.
