The aim of software education is to increase students' Computational Thinking(CT) skills that they can compose problems and provide solutions which can be carried out effectively by information-processing systems. Furthermore, if problem solving situations can provide students with meaningful problem solving opportunities in authentic social contexts, then software education would be more valuable. This study pursued educational robot-based SW convergence education where 4th grade primary students have access to tangible outputs and can engage in authentic problem solving situations working with peers by using robots and programming. In addition, this study investigated the effectiveness of the classes in terms of computational thinking skills and social capabilities(collaborative skills and communication skills). The current study provides educational robot-based SW convergence education cases of a primary school and discusses the effectiveness of the classes in terms of students' computational thinking skills and social capabilities.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of cultural and demographic factors (age and gender) on the perception of product information. The theoretical frameworks of interest in the current study are two cultural models: Hofstede's individualism (IND) and Hall's context. In examining the research questions, this research discovers that the cultural changes are occurring for the Korean young generation, even though Korean students are still within collectivistic culture. The correlation results suggest that the younger students have the higher individualism values compared to the older students. Using two multiple regression analyses (one set for high-context condition and one set for low-context condition), the study finds that cultural value and age significantly predicts the perception of product information in high-context (visual) condition. However, there is no significant difference in the perception of product information between male and female.

In this study, we investigated how the relationship between 'parallel' lines and 'identical' lines is stated in mathematics textbooks of the 2007 revised national curriculum. In school mathematics, 'parallel' lines and 'identical' lines are explicitly distinguished in the perspective of 'coincidence', whereas 'identical' lines are implicitly regarded as a special case of 'parallel' in the perspective of 'slope'. These different treatments could bring out a confusion as was in the mock mathematics test for 2012 College Scholastic Ability Test. To resolve this confusion, it needs to be considered that the relationship between 'parallel' lines and 'identical' lines are more clearly stated in the context of 'slope' such as in some textbooks for the 4th and 5th curriculum and a textbook of Japan.

In this paper, we suggested generally some samples and cases of portfolio but centered on elementary mathematics in New Zealand elementary school in the aspects of the assessment for learning activity of learner and so we have found some suggestive points by comparing New Zealand portfolio with ours. Finally, we have an objects that the teachers here in Korea can use these results as a cases which are benchmarked by them. We had known through this paper that portfolio assessment in New Zealand elementary school deals with various aspects and it was accessing in the direction of creating knowledge positively through the real life, not textbookish or artificial problem and also it had a characteristics dealing with real life situation or context without filtering. Especially, it always dealt with all regions of curriculum and looked like focusing on the connections of curriculum relatively.

Understanding of randomness is essential for learning and teaching of probability and statistics. Understanding of randomness prompts to understand natural and social phenomena from the point of view of mathematics, and plays a role of base in understanding of judgments based on rational interpretation on these phenomena. This study examined whether pre-service teachers recognize this, and they understand randomness included in various contexts. According to results, they did not have a understanding of randomness in the context related to measuring, while they grasped randomness in simple and joint events. This implies that they lack the understanding of variability which is essential in the context of measuring. This study, therefore, suggests that the settings of measuring should be introduced into probability and statistics education, especially that data from measuring should be analyzed focusing on the variability in the data set.

Just as noted in some studies related to U-learning based on the ubiquitous technology, it is required to reflect both factors of the environments and contexts of learners on the teaching and learning strategy. For this, the current paper suggests an inquiry learning method and a mobile learning support device for the inquiry learning. Since the inquiry learning is operating on the basis of the contents that learners themselves experience in the fields, it naturally leads them to position in the learning environments and contexts. In this study some curricula are adopted and transformed for the inquiry learning, and the developed mobile device for the learning has a guide function, so that learners might follow the inquiry learning process. In addition, it is possible to reuse the acquired learning data by storing them on a remote learning sever, which may support the inquiry learning of students. These system and device are applied in the teaching sites of schools and, consequently, it is found that in regard with the learning interest and academic performance of students there is an advanced result, being statistically significant.

SBS's -also known as - is one of the most famous investigative programs in South Korean television sector. This program is well-known for its much detailed and tenacious investigation of unsolved crimes, various social wrong-doings, as well as public scandals through a mystery code and meticulous storytelling. As a result, generates much popular interests and responses from local audiences. This work both examines and contextualizes the multiple roles and implications of this program through a textual and production analysis. Especially, it critically pursues this program's achievements and limits in the context of the changing roles of investigative journalism and its unstable status at current juncture.
